Highlighted Activity for April 21-24, 2016
Wanted Persons – Suspects Arrested
April 21 at 9:00 a.m., officers responded to a family disturbance at a home in the 500 block of South Magnolia. When they arrived, a computer check of the two females causing the disturbance revealed they were wanted by another law enforcement agency in Los Angeles County for robbery. They were arrested and taken into custody.
Violation of Domestic Violence Restraining Order – Suspect Arrested
April 21 at 2:34 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of Royal Oaks on the report of a male family member who was refusing to leave after being served with a domestic violence restraining order. Officers advised the subject of the conditions of the order and gave him several warnings and chances to leave, however, he refused. He was arrested and taken into custody without further incident.
Grand Theft Auto
April 22 at 8:38 a.m., a forklift was reported stolen from the 500 block of West Huntington. The forklift was parked to the rear of the location. It was not secured to a fixed object, but the keys were with the driver. The forklift was stolen sometime overnight. The investigation is continuing.
Bench Warrant / Receiving Stolen Property – Suspect Arrested
April 22 at 9:25 a.m., an officer was conducting an investigation regarding the possible unlawful use of a credit card. During the investigation, the officer learned of a possible location for the suspect in the 1400 block of S. Magnolia. He went to the location on Magnolia and found the suspect. The suspect was arrested for an outstanding warrant and receiving stolen property.
Grand Theft Auto
April 22 at 7:11 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 100 block of E. Lime Avenue. The victim parking her vehicle in a public parking lot and walking to a business on Myrtle. When she returned to her vehicle approximately 10 minutes later, she found her vehicle had been stolen. The victim had left the vehicle unlocked, but had the keys
in her possession. The vehicle is a 2006, silver, 4-door Toyota Corolla. The investigation is continuing.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
April 22 at 11:23 p.m., officers were called to a business in the 400 block of S. Myrtle regarding a subject at the location who was intoxicated and attempted to leave without paying his bill. Prior to the officers arriving, the business owner blocked the subject from leaving the location. The officers arrived and determined the subject was too impaired to care for himself. He was arrested for public intoxication and held for a sobering period.
Unlicensed Driver / Resisting a Police Officer – Suspect Arrested
April 23 at 2:03 a.m., an officer observed a vehicle commit a vehicle code violation and attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver sped up and made several turning movements to evade the officer. The officer lost sight of the vehicle, but relocated it in the 300 block of S. California. The driver stopped the vehicle, but fled on foot. He was quickly detained in an alley, east of California. The investigation revealed the suspect is an unlicensed juvenile who had taken his father’s vehicle without permission. The suspect sustained a minor injury while being taken into custody and was taken to the hospital for medical clearance. He was then processed for the charges and later released to a parent with a citation to appear in court.
No-Bail Warrants / Resisting Police Officer Causing Great Bodily Injury / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
April 23 at 10:43 a.m., an officer saw a suspicious vehicle parked in the area of Sherman and Cherry. He ran the plate, which had two no-bail warrants attached to the registered owner. The subject near the vehicle fit the description of the registered owner. As the officer attempted to make contact, the suspect fled on foot, ignoring the officer's commands to stop. The officer caught up and attempted to detain the suspect, who resisted and began fighting with the officer. The suspect broke free and ran through yards, jumping fences. Other officers arrived and set up a perimeter. Within minutes, the officers were chasing the suspect through a property in the 500 block of E. Cherry. The suspect was eventually detained and taken into custody. A computer check confirmed the two no-bail warrants for his arrest. The suspect was arrested for obstructing and resisting arrest, battery on a police officer and the two warrants.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
April 23 at 3:48 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of King regarding a verbal altercation. When they arrived, they detained a subject in front of the location who was yelling at people. The subject was determined to be extremely intoxicated and was determined to be unable to care for himself. He was arrested and held for a sobering period.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
April 24 at 2:18 a.m., an officer observed a vehicle commit a vehicle code violation and made a traffic stop. While contacting the driver, the officer noticed signs of intoxication. Investigation revealed the driver was driving under the influence. He was arrested for DUI and held for a sobering period.
Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
April 24 at 10:21 p.m., a suspicious subject was reported looking into parked vehicles with a flashlight in the area of Foothill and Violet. Officers located a subject matching the description on Violet and made contact with him. As they approached, the officer saw the subject discard a baggie of narcotics. The suspect was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and later released with a citation to appear in court.
Trespassing – Suspect Arrested
April 25 at 12:56 a.m., a suspicious subject was reported inside a vacant property with a flashlight. Officers arrived and located a subject who had made entry into the vacant home through a rear window. The subject was just released from jail on the narcotics offense listed above. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody on the trespassing charge.

Highlighted Activity for March 10-13, 2016
Vandalism
March 10 at 7:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of N. Myrtle regarding a vandalism report. It appears an unknown suspect smashed the driver-side window on a vehicle. There was nothing inside the vehicle in plain view. Officers received information of a second window smash on another vehicle in the 300 block N. Primrose. There was nothing taken from the second vehicle either. The investigation is continuing.
Possession of Stolen Property/Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
March 10 at 10:56 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 100 block of N. Primrose when he saw a suspicious subject walk out from the side of a residence. The subject saw the officer and attempted to walk away, but was detained. While the officer was talking with the subject, the subject appeared nervous and was visibly shaken. The subject said he was not alone at the residence, and that there were other people in the back garage. He gave the officer permission to search the garage. Additional units responded to assist.
While walking to the garage, the officers observed numerous expensive bicycles, which appeared to be in the process of having the serial numbers ground off and rims repainted. A search of the garage also revealed drug paraphernalia. The subject was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance. He was arrested for possession of stolen property and the drug charges.
Petty Theft – Suspect Arrested
March 10 at 8:04 p.m., officers responded to a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington on the report of a male subject that fled the store without paying for merchandise. The officers obtained a description of the suspect and searched the area; the suspect was located at a bus bench nearby. During the investigation, the officers located the stolen property, and store loss prevention personnel positively identified the suspect. He was arrested for the crime and taken into custody.
Critical Missing Juvenile Located
March 10 at 10:00 p.m., a female juvenile was reported missing to the Monrovia Police Department. The missing was last seen at her apartment complex in the 500 block of
W. Foothill. She had argued with her father over the use of a cell phone. She had gone to school that morning, but had not returned home. Police conducted an area search and followed all investigative leads, but the juvenile was not located. On March 13 at 2:15 p.m., detectives received a lead on the location of the juvenile and went to the Pasadena area to follow up. During the course of their investigation, they located the juvenile at a residence in the City of Altadena. The juvenile’s parents were notified and responded.
Domestic Violence
March 10 at 11:10 p.m., a disturbance was reported at the intersection of Chestnut and Monterey. Officers arrived to investigate and located a female subject hiding near several vehicles. She had been assaulted and had sustained injuries to her face. During the investigation, the officers learned her husband had struck her several times, causing the visible injuries. The officers went to the residence, where the crime occurred, and located the husband. After speaking with him, he was arrested for domestic violence.
Theft from an Unlocked Vehicle
March 11 at 8:56 a.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 200 block of S. Primrose. The victim had parked his vehicle and left it unlocked. Sometime overnight, an unknown suspect entered the vehicle and rummaged through it. A thumb drive and a pair of sunglasses were stolen. The investigation is continuing.
Non-injury Traffic Collision
March 11 at 10:01 a.m., officers were dispatched to a traffic collision at a business parking lot in the 300 block of W. Huntington. An 84-year-old male subject was attempting to park his vehicle and accidently pushed on the accelerator instead of the brake, causing his vehicle to lunge forward into the side of a building. There was damage to a wall of the building and the store front glass was broken. The subject was wearing his seat belt and sustained no injuries, however, paramedics still responded to check him. A DMV reexamination was issued.
Felony Warrants/Wanted Fugitive/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspects Arrested
March 11 at 4:13 p.m., officers conducted a high-risk stop on a white VW Jetta in the parking lot of a closed business in the 300 block of W. Foothill. The registered owner of the vehicle had felony warrants out for his arrest and was listed as a wanted fugitive for a weapons charge. The male suspect was arrested and taken into custody without incident. The female passenger was also arrested for being in possession of drug paraphernalia.
Theft of Package
March 11 at 6:42 p.m., a resident in the 300 block of N. Encinitas reported the theft of a package that was delivered and stolen from her porch sometime during the day. The investigation is continuing.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
March 11 at 7:57 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the 300 block of W. Chestnut when he noticed a subject sitting in a vehicle slumped over. The subject was found to be
extremely intoxicated and unable to care for himself. He was arrested for public intoxication and held for a sobering period.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
March 12 at 4:36 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 300 block of W. Foothill and observed a vehicle commit a vehicle code violation. He conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver. Through investigation, the officer determined the driver was intoxicated and driving under the influence. The suspect was arrested and held for a sobering period. The suspect was later released with a citation to appear in court on the charges.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
March 12 at 2:34 p.m., two subjects, a boyfriend and girlfriend, were arguing in the area of Palm and Primrose. The male got angry and threw the female to the ground, causing scrapes on her arms. He was arrested for domestic violence and a temporary restraining order was issued.
Traffic Collision/Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
March 12 at 7:27 p.m., officers responded to the area of Duarte Road and Magnolia for a non-injury traffic collision. While speaking to the subjects involved, officers noticed the subject suspected of causing the collision appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Field sobriety tests were administered and the driver was arrested for DUI. The driver was later released after a sobering period with a citation to appear in court.
Injury Traffic Collision
March 12 at 8:06 p.m., officers were dispatched to an injury traffic collision at Myrtle and Evergreen. A vehicle traveling east on Evergreen was struck by a vehicle traveling north on Myrtle that had failed to stop at a red signal. Three people in the vehicle traveling east suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene by Monrovia Fire Department personnel.
Fight in Progress/Assault With a Deadly Weapon
March 13 at 1:23 a.m., Monrovia Fire Department personnel were at a business in the 400 block of S. Myrtle for a medical assist and observed a disturbance to the front of the location involving three adult male subjects. The subjects separated and left the location heading in different directions. The subjects came back together around the corner on Lemon. A physical altercation began and the two suspects assaulted the victim. During the assault, he was pushed to the ground, kicked in the head and his head was struck against the pavement. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of multiple head injuries. The two suspects had fled the location. The investigation is continuing.
Hit and Run Traffic Collision
March 13 at 1:57 a.m., a hit and run traffic collision was reported in the 100 block of W. Colorado. The victim reported a vehicle had crashed into her parked car and fled. The suspect vehicle was described as a gold-colored, four-door vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
Vandalism
March 13 at 3:22 a.m., a resident in the 500 block of W. Duarte Road called police to report a vandalism that had just occurred. The victim was inside his residence when he heard noises outside. He looked out and saw an ex-roommate standing by his vehicle. He went out to confront the subject, but he fled. The victim looked at his vehicle and noticed the tires had been slashed. The suspect was not located and the investigation is ongoing.

Grand Theft Auto
February 8 at 9:17 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 300 block of Genoa. The vehicle is a green, 2-door, 1997 Honda Accord. The investigation is continuing.
Hit & Run Traffic Collision
February 8 at 11:50 p.m., officers responded to the report of a hit and run traffic collision in the 300 block of South Shamrock. A vehicle traveling north on Shamrock struck a parked vehicle and fled the area. The suspect vehicle was possibly red or burgandy in color. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft Auto
February 9 at 2:16 a.m., the victim of a grand theft auto reported her vehicle was taken by her grandaughter, who resides with her. The suspect told her grandmother over the phone that she was in Los Angeles. The vehicle is a silver, 2011 Buick Regal. The vehicle was entered into the law enforcement stolen vehicle system and the juvenile suspect was entered as a missing/runaway. The investigation is continuing.
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia/Warrant – Suspect Arrested
February 9 at 2:51 a.m., a suspicous person, possibly involved in drug activity, was reported in the area of a business in the 100 block of West Foothill. Officers responded, contacted the subject, and a computer check revealed he had two misdemeanor warrants for his arrest. He was arrested for the warrants and was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernaila.
Commercial Burglary
February 9 at 4:35 a.m., police received numerous calls reporting a burglary in progress at a business in the 100 block of East Huntington. The reporting parties were employees at the business location. They reported that a male suspect broke the glass to the front doors and entered the building, triggering the alarm. Officers arrived on
scene and removed the employees from the location. A search of the building was conducted, but the suspect was not located. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft Auto
February 9 at 6:48 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 1000 block of Orange Avenue. The victim was on vacation and had left her vehicle parked at her residence. When she returned, she noticed her vehicle had been stolen. The vehicle is a white, 4-door, 2011 Honda Accord. The investigation is continuing.
Defrauding the DMV – Suspect Arrested
February 9 at 9:48 p.m., an officer on patrol noticed a vehicle traveling west with its emergency flashers on in the 700 block of West Huntington. The officer completed a computer check of the vehicle, which revealed the registration had been expired since 2009, but there was a 2016 registration sticker on the license plate. The officer stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, who admitted to defrauding the DMV. The registration tab was from another vehicle he owned. The driver received a citation to appear in court on the charges and was released in the field. The vehicle was impounded for expired registration.
Trespassing/Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance/Violation of Gang Injunction Court Order – Suspect Arrested
February 9 at 11:51 p.m., police responded to a business in the 100 block of West Foothill regarding a subject observed by security personnel climbing to the roof of the location. Officers arrived and, with the assistance of a police helicopter, located the subject on the roof. The officers climbed the fire access ladder and detained the subject. A Monrovia Fire Department ladder truck was called to assist in lowering the suspect and officers from the rooftop. The subject was arrested for trespassing. He was also determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance and in violation of the gang injunction court order, which were added to his charges.
Possession of Stolen Property – Suspect Arrested
February 10 at 4:03 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 900 block of South Mountain and recognized a subject riding a bicycle that was very similar to one that had been stolen the previous day. The officer stopped the bicyclist and confirmed the bike was in fact stolen. The suspect was arrested for being in possession of stolen property and taken into custody. The suspect was later released with a citation to appear in court on the charges.
Warrants – Suspect Arrested
February 10 at 4:12 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of Hurstview regarding a subject causing a disturbance. The subject was banging on his neighbor’s door. The subject could not give a reason why he was causing the disturbance. He was found to have several outstanding warrants. He was arrested for the warrants and taken into custody.
Weapons Offense
February 10 at 9:50 p.m., a victim used the ATM at a bank in the 100 block of West Foothill. He then drove west in the parking lot, toward Primrose. He stopped at a stop sign in the parking lot and a vehicle traveling east abruptly turned left in front of the victim. The suspect in other vehicle started yelling at the victim through the open passenger window. The victim could not hear what was being said, so he exited his car and approached the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect pointed a black semi-automatic firearm and threatened to shoot the victim. The suspect then fled east on Foothill out of sight.
The suspect is described as a male Hispanic in his 20's, wearing a white, short-sleeved t-shirt, dark pants, with short hair and was unshaven. He also had several tattoos on one or both of his arms. The suspect vehicle is described as a silver or gold sedan, possibly a Chevy Malibu. The victim wrote down a license plate, but it returned to a salvaged vehicle. The investigation is continuing.

Highlighted Activity for September 24-27, 2015
Injury Traffic Collision
On September 25 at 7:00 a.m., officers responded to a vehicle verses bicyclist traffic collision in the area of Myrtle and Colorado. The male juvenile was riding his bicycle west on the south sidewalk. A vehicle exiting the parking lot, pulled onto the street and broadsided the bicyclist. The bicyclist sustained a laceration on his face. He was treated by paramedics and transported to a hospital.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
On September 25 at 8:09 a.m., an officer stopped a motorist for a vehicle code violation in the 800 block of West Colorado. Through investigation it was discovered the female had an outstanding warrant. She was cited for the vehicle code violation and taken into custody for the warrant.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
On September 25 at 8:18 a.m., an officer stopped a motorist for a vehicle code violation in the 200 block of North Alta Vista. The investigation determined the subject had an outstanding warrant. The driver was cited for the vehicle code violation and arrested for the warrant.
Residential Burglary
On September 25 at 9:29 p.m., a residential burglary was reported in the 1600 block of Alamitas. The victims indicated they left their home that evening to eat dinner at about 5:15 p.m. They returned home at about 9:30 p.m. and discovered their home was burglarized. The front door was forced open with a pry tool, and unknown suspect(s) took currency, a camera, and electronics. The investigation is continuing.
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol - Suspect Arrested
On September 26 at 2:27 a.m. a driver was stopped for unsafe speed in the 1800 block of South Myrtle. The investigation determined the subject was driving under the influence of alcohol. The subject was arrested and later released on a citation after sobering.

On September 26 at 3:39 a.m., a driver was stopped for a stop sign violation in the area of Huntington and Shamrock. A subsequent investigation revealed the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and later released on a citation after sobering.
Vehicle Burglary
On September 26 at 11:27 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 200 block of Alta Vista regarding a vehicle burglary. The victim parked his vehicle on the street in front of his residence. Upon his return his sliding rear window was open. Stolen out of his vehicle was a laptop and backpack. The investigation is continuing.
Receiving Stolen Property / Possession of Burglary Tools / Possess of a Controlled Substance / Possession of smoking Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
On September 26 at 11:35 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of North Shamrock regarding a suspicious male subject. The officer recognized the subject from recent theft calls and burglary investigations. The subject was loading his vehicle and trailer with property. The subject did not have an answer to where, why and how he obtained a variety of expensive merchandise. The subsequent investigation revealed the subject was in possession of stolen property, illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia. The vehicle and trailer were stored. The investigation is continuing.
Theft from a Vehicle
On September 26 at 1:01 p.m., a resident called to report a theft in the 400 block of West Duarte. The victim’s purse was stolen out of her vehicle while she was at the coin car wash. She does not know how it occurred. The investigation is continuing.
Dog Bite
On September 26 at 11:14 p.m., a resident called to report he had been bitten by a neighbor’s dog in the 500 block of East Los Angeles. The victim was walking home along the front yard of his neighbor's fence line, when his neighbor's dog jumped up and bit the victim's right arm. The victim suffered three puncture wounds as a result of the dog bite, and he was transported by ambulance to the hospital. The dog remained confined in his own yard during and after the incident occurred. The dog owner was identified and advised to keep his dog away from the fence line. Pasadena Humane Society was contacted and they will follow-up with all parties involved.
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol – Suspect Arrested
On September 27 at 1:29 a.m., a driver was stopped for unsafe speed. A subsequent investigation revealed the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and taken into custody for driving under the Influence of alcohol.
Commercial Burglary
On September 27 at 3:55 a.m., officers responded to a business in the 300 block of West Huntington regarding a subject inside the business. The suspect entered the grocery store but did not see the reporting party. The reporting party called the police on his cell phone. Officers surrounded the building and with the help from Arcadia Police Department. The employee was rescued and the interior searched for the suspect with negative results. The suspect did gain entry into the store safe and stole approximately $60 to $80 dollars. The Investigation is continuing.
