Highlighted Activity for November 3-6, 2016

Grand Theft Auto
November 3 at 4:30 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from a parking lot in the 1600 block of S. Myrtle Avenue. The victim parked his vehicle in the lot at 7:00 a.m. and went to work. When he returned at 4:30 p.m., he discovered his vehicle had been stolen. The investigation is continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
November 3 at 5:20 p.m., an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation at California and Duarte. A computer check of the driver revealed she had a felony warrant out of Monrovia for her arrest. She was arrested and taken into custody for the warrant.
Petty Theft
November 3 at 9:50 p.m., a resident in the 700 block of Montana Street called police to report the theft of his bicycle. The victim left his bicycle on the side of his yard at 8:00 p.m. and went inside his residence. At 9:00 p.m., he went back outside and noticed his bicycle was missing. The investigation is continuing.
Hit & Run Traffic Collision – Vehicle vs. Pedestrian
November 3 at 11:01 p.m., a hit and run traffic collision that occurred at Mayflower and Diamond was reported to police. A 17-year-old male subject was walking across the street when a vehicle's front fender grazed the back of his ankle. The driver of the vehicle left the scene. The minor walked home and informed his mother of the incident. The minor did not have any visible injuries, but he complained of pain to his ankle. The investigation is continuing.
Assault
November 4 at 7:40 a.m., a female resident in the 1200 block of S. Sherman called police to report she had been involved in a fight with her brother. Both subjects are adults. The argument became physical and both subjects pushed and shoved each other. The male suspect then pushed his sister to the ground, causing her to fall backwards and strike her back on a brick planter box. The suspect then went into the house and the victim followed. Inside the house, they continued to argue and fight. At
one point, the male suspect bit the female victim on her shoulder through her shirt, causing injury. The suspect then left the residence on foot. Officers conducted an area search for the suspect, but he was not located. The investigation is continuing.
Traffic Collison – Vehicle vs. Pedestrian
November 4 at 3:05 p.m., a student ran in front of a slow moving vehicle at a middle school in the 200 block of S. Ivy. The child was struck and went to the ground. The child was treated by Monrovia Fire Department and taken to a hospital for precautionary measures. The child had visible scrapes on his face. The child’s mother was notified. She responded to the school and went to the hospital with her son.
Possession of a Controlled Substance / Warrants – Suspect Arrested
November 5 at 3:50 a.m., police dispatch received a call reporting several subjects sleeping on the lawn at a location in the 200 block of E. Palm. Officers arrived and discovered five subjects sleeping on the lawn. The officers recognized one of the subjects and knew he had outstanding warrants for his arrest. The warrants were confirmed and the subject was arrested. A search of his property revealed he was in possession of methamphetamine, which was added to his charges.
Grand Theft Auto
November 5 at 7:50 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from an apartment complex in the 1500 block of Encino. The victim parked and locked her vehicle in the guest parking for the complex at 2:00 a.m. The vehicle is a black, 1998 Honda Civic. When she returned to her vehicle in the morning, she found her vehicle was missing. Officers checked the area, but the vehicle was not located. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary
November 5 at 12:02 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of Ridgeside on the report of a vehicle burglary. The victim parked and locked his vehicle on the street at 1:45 a.m. Sometime during the night, unknown suspects entered the vehicle and gained access to the trunk. They stole miscellaneous tools and other items from the trunk of the vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
November 5 at 6:27 p.m., police received a call reporting subjects camped out in the rear alley of a business in the 300 block of W. Huntington. Officers arrived and made contact with one male and one female camped out in the alley. The female subject was found to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest and was in possession of a glass pipe used for smoking methamphetamine. She was arrested and taken into custody.
Disturbing Subjects / Public Intoxication / Violation of Domestic Violence Restraining Order – Suspects Arrested
November 5 at 7:30 p.m., a male and female subject were reported fighting in the park in the 300 block of S. Myrtle Avenue. Officers arrived and located the two subjects. The female subject was found to be extremely intoxicated and was arrested for being drunk in public. The male subject is listed as being the restrained person in a court ordered domestic violence restraining order and the protected person is the intoxicated female. The male subject was arrested for violating the restraining order.
Domestic Violence
November 5 at 11:30 p.m., a fight between a male and female subject was reported in the 500 block of W. Palm. Officers arrived and found the subjects were in a vehicle arguing. The male subject had an injury to his finger and the female subject had an injury to her hand. The officers determined the female subject was the aggressor and she was arrested for domestic violence.

Highlighted Activity for August 6-9, 2015


Gang Injunction – Suspect Arrested
August 6 at 11:04 p.m., officers responded to the report of a possible burglary in progress in the 200 block of West Cypress. The caller reported that someone was on the roof of the complex. The complex is three stories high. Officers observed a male subject climbing down the emergency ladder from the roof. The subject is a known gang member and has been placed on the Gang Injunction list. The subject was arrested for violation of the Gang Injunction court order.
Theft – Suspects Arrested
August 7 at 9:19 p.m., loss prevention from a business in the 500 block of West Huntington called police to report three suspects in custody for burglary. The suspects switched the price tags on merchandise, putting clearance tags with a much lower price on the items. Loss prevention observed the suspect removing and replacing the tags. The suspects then paid for the items and were stopped by loss prevention as they exited the checkout. The suspects were arrested for theft and received a citation to appear in court.
Stolen Vehicle
August 8 at 3:13 p.m., a stolen vehicle was reported in the 800 block of West Walnut.  The victim parked and locked her car in her driveway at 10:00 a.m. When she returned, the car was gone. No one had permission to take the vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
August 9 at 10:19 a.m., dispatch received a call reporting a male subject, possibly passed out, near an elementary school building in the 900 block of East Lemon. Officers responded and located the subject. After contacting him, officers discovered he had several outstanding warrants for his arrest; he was arrested and taken into custody for the warrants.
Disturbance/Wanted Person – Suspect Arrested
August 9 at 12:18 p.m., a local bus line called police to report a patron on a bus in the 200 block of East Huntington that was causing a disturbance and would not exit the bus. Officers responded and located the subject as he was exiting the bus. The officers determined the subject had been drinking and had an outstanding wanted person entry out of the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department. The subject was arrested and taken into custody. San Bernardino deputies responded and took custody of the suspect.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
August 9 at 12:39 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of Montana regarding a suspicious person. The caller reported a male subject in their backyard and gave a description. Officers located a subject matching the description a short distance away. Officers contacted the subject and determined he had a no-bail warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Stolen Scooter
August 9 at 3:45 p.m., police dispatch received a call reporting a stolen Vespa scooter from the 100 block of West Foothill. The victim said she was late for work and left the keys in the ignition. She returned to her scooter at 3:00 p.m. and found the scooter was missing. An area check was made, but the scooter was not located. The investigation is continuing.
Stolen Vehicle
August 9 at 4:47 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 300 block of West Olive. The vehicle was taken sometime between August 7 and 9. All keys are accounted for and the doors were locked. The area was searched, but the vehicle was not located. The investigation is continuing.
Drunk in Public/Medical Assist 
August 10 at 1:00 a.m., officers responded to the 100 block of East Olive regarding a female who was lying on the sidewalk, unresponsive. They arrived and were able to revive the subject. She was determined to be heavily intoxicated and unable to care for herself. She was arrested for being drunk in public and taken into custody. Monrovia Fire Department paramedics responded and determined she needed to be taken to a local hospital and she was taken for treatment.

Highlighted Activity for July 16-19, 2015

Domestic Violence/Possession of a Replica Firearm/Possession of a Dirk or Dagger – Suspect Arrested
July 16 at 7:00 a.m., an officer responded to a call reporting a male suspect pushing and dragging his girlfriend through the grass at a park in the 700 block of East Lemon. The officer arrived at the location and detained the suspect. He was found to be in possession of a dagger and a replica firearm. The suspect had melted the red tip off the barrel to give the gun an authentic appearance. The suspect's girlfriend did not sustain any injuries during the incident. The suspect was arrested and held, pending his courtappearance date.
Disturbance/Warrant – Suspect Arrested
July 16 at 7:05 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 200 block of East Central regarding a disturbance. Upon contacting and identifying the subjects, one of them was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The suspect was arrested for the warrant and taken into custody.
Death Investigation
July 17 at 1:46 a.m., Monrovia Police Dispatch received a call reporting possible shots heard in the area of 100 Grand Avenue. Monrovia Police Officers arrived and located a male and female adult deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. The initial investigation indicates a domestic dispute. There are no suspects being sought at this time. The investigation is continuing and is being handled by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau.
Warrants – Suspect Arrested
July 17 at 9:21 a.m., police received a call reporting a suspicious male subject looking into parked cars in the 200 block of Montana. Officers responded and located the suspect. He was identified and found to have several warrants for his arrest. He admitted that he was looking into the cars and had actually entered a couple looking forthings to steal. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Burglary/Possession of Burglary Tools – Suspect Arrested
July 17 at 3:32 p.m., police received a call from a business in the 500 block of West Huntington reporting a burglary in progress. The suspect had stolen merchandise from the Alhambra location of the business earlier in the week and was now at the Monrovia store. Officers responded to the location and detained the suspect. The suspect was found to be in possession of burglary tools, which was added to his charges.
Burglary
July 17 at 9:13 p.m., a burglary was reported at a residence in the 300 block of Valle Vista Avenue. The victim had just arrived home at her residence and found it had been ransacked. Officers responded, but no suspects were located at the residence. The  victim had left the garage door to her residence open while she was gone, and the interior door from her garage to the residence was closed, but also unlocked. Several items were taken. The investigation is continuing.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
July 18 at 1:57 a.m., officers observed a vehicle stopped at a red light at Duarte and Myrtle without headlights during hours of darkness; the vehicle then made an abrupt lane change and accelerated through the intersection. The vehicle was stopped for the vehicle code violation, and after investigation, the driver was determined to be driving under the influence and was arrested.
Warrants/Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
July 18 at 10:12 p.m., an officer stopped a driver at Mountain and Huntington for a vehicle code violation and discovered the driver had several outstanding warrants. The driver was subsequently arrested. During a search, the subject was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and several access cards that did not belong to him. The additional crimes were added to his charges.
Grand Theft Auto
July 19 at 12:19 a.m., the victim of a grand theft auto phoned police to report her vehicle had just been stolen. The victim exited her vehicle to use an ATM in a parking lot in the 600 block of West Huntington and left her vehicle unlocked and running. While she was outside of the vehicle, a male suspect got into the vehicle and fled the area. The vehicle was entered into the law enforcement stolen vehicle system. The investigation is continuing.
Burglary – Suspect Arrested
July 19 at 7:48 a.m., an employee from a preschool in the 900 block of West Duarte called to report someone possibly inside the school. Officers responded and it appeared someone had been at the location, as a bicycle and clothing had been left behind. One of the officers recognized the bicycle from previous contact with a local male subject. After officers cleared the school, a resident in the 1800 block of Sixth Avenue called and reported a male suspect was trying to get into his rear shed. When officers arrived, the subject ran to the rear of a business, but was quickly detained. This was the same male subject the officer had contacted several days earlier on the bicycle. The suspect was
wearing a shirt taken from the preschool. He admitted to being at the school and was
arrested and taken into custody.
