August 10 at 10:00 a.m., a vandalism was reported in the 500 block of S. Mountain. An employee at YWCA called the police to report that the men's restroom had been vandalized with a black marker. The investigation is continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
August 10 at 7:35 p.m., an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of W. Olive. The officer recognized the driver from prior contacts and a computer check on the driver revealed he had several outstanding warrants. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
August 10 at 9:26 p.m., an officer on patrol in the area of Foothill and Highland conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation. Further investigation revealed the driver was too impaired to drive a motor vehicle. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
August 10 at 11:35 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 600 block of W. Colorado regarding a subject laying on the sidewalk with no shirt on. The officers contacted the subject and determined he was too intoxicated to care for himself. He was taken into custody and held for a sobering period.

August 11 at 2:10 p.m., officers responded to the report of a subject almost being struck by a motorist in the 100 block of W. Palm Ave. The caller reported the subject was stumbling and appeared intoxicated. Officers located the subject and determined he was too intoxicated to care for himself. The subject was arrested, taken into custody and held for a sobering period.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
August 11 at 2:38 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 500 block of S. Myrtle regarding a 9-1-1 hang-up. Officers arrived and contacted a male subject, further investigation
revealed the subject could not care for himself. The subject was detained and taken into custody.
Evading a Peace Officer / Possession of a Controlled Substance / Receiving Stolen Property – Suspect Arrested
August 11 at 7:20 p.m., police received a call of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Elfwood and Norumbega. When officers arrived and attempted to contact the driver, the vehicle fled. The vehicle failed to yield for a short distance and then stopped at a dead end. During the investigation the suspect admitted he was in possession of heroin and stealing mail.
Robbery
August 11 at 9:13 p.m., an officer responded to a report of a robbery in the 400 block of W. Colorado. The victim was walking down the street texting when a male black forcefully took his phone out of his hand and fled. The investigation is continuing.
Domestic Violence
August 12 at 2:48 p.m., a domestic violence incident was reported in the 800 block of W. Walnut. A husband and wife had a verbal argument that escalated into a battery. The victim was punched twice in the face. When the officers arrived to the residence the husband had fled the scene. The victim refused medical treatment. An emergency protective order was granted and the suspect is being sought. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary
August 12 at 4:48 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 1600 block of S. Mountain. The caller reported a vehicle in the parking lot with a smashed window. The owner was located and some items were stolen from the vehicle. The victim parked and locked his vehicle and went inside the business to shop. The suspect used an unknown tool to gain entry into the vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
Driving Under the Influence / Fatal Traffic Collision – Suspect Arrested
August 12 at 11:41 p.m., officers responded to a traffic collision in the area of Duarte and Magnolia. A vehicle travelling east on Duarte struck a pedestrian near the intersection of Magnolia. Officers arrived on scene and found the victim conscious but seriously injured. He was transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. The driver of the vehicle was found to be under the influence of alcohol. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
August 13 at 12:36 a.m., a domestic violence incident was reported in the 400 block of Monrovista. The male and female were involved in an argument after the male arrived home intoxicated and with their child. The male kicked and punched the victim and threw her on the ground while he was holding the child. The male was arrested and taken into custody.

Highlighted Activity for July 13-16, 2017
Injury Traffic Collision
July 13 at 11:00 a.m., a vehicle collision involving injuries was reported at a business lot in the 1400 block of S. Shamrock. A staff member was driving a customer’s vehicle and hit another employee that was driving a golf cart. The driver of the golf cart suffered a minor head injury and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Vehicle Burglary
July 14 at 7:03 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in a business parking lot in the 500 block of S. Mountain Avenue. The victim parked and locked her vehicle in the parking lot and 6:00 a.m. When she returned at 7:00 a.m., she noticed her rear passenger side window was shattered. The victim reported that she had left her satchel on the rear seat of the vehicle. The suspect smashed the window, reached in and fled with the satchel. The investigation is continuing.
Shoplifting / Battery – Suspect Arrested
July 14 at 12:43 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain Avenue. A suspect was attempting to leave the business with store merchandise without paying. As the suspect approached the exit doors, he was confronted by the victim who tried to detain him. The suspect battered the victim and attempted to flee. The suspect was detained by loss prevention personnel and placed under citizen’s arrest for battery. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Criminal Threats – Suspect Arrested
July 14 at 8:15 p.m., officers responded to a business in the 700 block of E. Central regarding a subject threatening an employee at the location. The suspect drove to Monrovia from Bakersfield after speaking to a salesman on the phone and confirming they had a vehicle he wanted to buy at the price he wanted to pay. When the suspect arrived at the dealership, the vehicle had already been sold. This infuriated the suspect because he had driven so far and he began threatening to harm the salesman. The suspect was arrested form criminal threats.
Residential Burglary
July 15 at 12:37 p.m., a residential burglary was reported in the 800 block of W. Hillcrest. The victim called police to report she had just returned home and found a female suspect inside her residence. The suspect fled, running east and out of sight.
Officers responded and searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspect. The
investigation revealed the suspect made entry into the home through a back sliding
glass door and fled when she was confronted by the homeowner. Miscellaneous jewelry
was missing. The investigation is continuing.
Fight in Progress / Possible Hit and Run Traffic Collision – Suspect Arrested
July 15 at 7:14 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Los Angeles
regarding subjects fighting and a gun was reportedly seen. When officers arrived, there
were multiple subjects and multiple vehicles in the area, including an unoccupied
abandoned vehicle. The driver of that vehicle was found hiding on the roof of a home in
the area. He was apprehended by officers, arrested and cited for resisting and delaying
officers. No gun was located and the reporting party admitted she did not see a gun.
Further investigation revealed only a minor conflict had occurred and no other arrests
were made.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
July 16 at 1:58 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of W. Lemon
regarding a subject trying to break into a home. The officers arrived and found a male
subject outside the residence and he was extremely intoxicated. He thought he was at a
friend’s house. The subject was too intoxicated to care for his own safety. He was
arrested for public intoxication.

July 16 at 6:43 a.m., a witness called police and reported a male suspect battering a
female in the 300 block of W. Chestnut. Officers arrived and detained both parties
involved. The investigation revealed that although there were no visible injuries, the
male had battered the female subject, who is his girlfriend. The suspect was arrested
and taken into custody.
Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
July 16 at 9:45 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 400 block of W. Olive when he
observed a male subject on a bicycle that ran a stop sign. The officer stopped the
subject and found he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. During a search of his
person, drugs were found in his pocket. The suspect was arrested for drug possession
and the warrant.

July 16 at 3:30 p.m., a suspect was reported trespassing at a business in the 700 block
of E. Huntington. The suspect has been served with a no-trespassing order for the
location. Officers arrived, located the suspect and detained him. The video surveillance
confirmed the suspect had entered the store in violation of the trespassing order. The
suspect was arrested and issued a citation to appear in court on the charges.

Highlighted Activity for June 26-28, 2017
Vehicle Burglaries
June 26 in the early morning hours, three separate vehicle burglaries were reported to
police that occurred in the 1100 block of Royal Oaks. The vehicles were all parked in an
apartment complex carport that is not visible from the street. Sometime during the night,
unknown suspects smashed the vehicle windows and stole miscellaneous property from
inside. The investigations are continuing.
Injury Traffic Collision June 26 at 2:35 p.m., an officer responded to the report of an injury traffic collision at California and Duarte Road. A vehicle was traveling west on Duarte and ran a red light, colliding into a vehicle traveling south. The southbound vehicle veered and collided into two other vehicles. One driver was taken to a hospital for treatment. The driver that ran the red light was issued a citation.
Vehicle Burglary June 27 at 2:28 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 100 block of W. Colorado. The vehicle was parked in a secured portion of a parking structure. The suspect(s) cut open the rag top of the vehicle and took the victim's work key card, work identification and the vehicle manual. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft June 27 at 8:30 a.m., an officer was dispatched on the report of a grand theft in the 1600 block of S. Myrtle. Unknown suspect(s) entered the Station Square bathrooms and stole two hand dryers that were bolted to the walls. The investigation is continuing.
Theft From a Vehicle June 27 at 9:00 a.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 100 block of N. Mayflower. The victim reported that sometime overnight, unknown suspects stole miscellaneous items from his vehicle, which was parked in an alley next to his home. There were no signs of forced entry found and the victim was unsure if he secured his vehicle. The investigation is continuing.

Officers responded to the scene and through investigation, determined the driver was driving under the influence. The driver was arrested for DUI and taken into custody.

A traffic stop was conducted and after investigation, the driver was determined to be intoxicated and was arrested for driving under the influence.
Hit & Run Traffic Collision – Suspect Arrested June 28 at 1:06 a.m., a loud crash was reported at Ivy and Lime, where three parked vehicles on Ivy were hit and sustained significant damage. The suspect vehicle left the scene, heading north on Ivy. The suspect and her vehicle were located shortly after on Encinitas, north of Palm, and the suspect was detained. No injuries were sustained. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.

When security attempted to stop the female, a male subject who was with her attacked the security officer. The female suspect was arrested for shoplifting and the male was arrested for battery.

June 1 at 10:43 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 900 block of S. Magnolia when he recognized a subject he knew to have an outstanding warrant. The officer detained the subject, confirmed the warrant and took him into custody. The subject was booked and held pending a court appearance.

The officer contacted the driver and a computer check revealed an outstanding arrest warrant, and that the subject was unlicensed. The suspect was taken into custody, booked and held pending a court appearance.

June 2 at 6:33 a.m., a solo-vehicle traffic collision was reported in the 900 block of E. Huntington Drive. Officers arrived and contacted the driver, who demonstrated signs of alcohol intoxication. The investigation determined the subject was intoxicated and collided into a parked vehicle. No injuries were sustained. The suspect was arrested, booked and held for a sobering period. She was then released with a citation to appear in court on the charges.

June 2 at 8:52 p.m., a domestic dispute was reported in the 100 block of N. Myrtle. A couple who were living together were ending their relationship and the female was moving out. As the male subject was helping her get her things out of the residence, the female became upset and threw a hard object at the male subject, striking him in the back of the head and causing a large laceration. The female was arrested for domestic violence.

The male suspect fled prior to police arriving. The female subject had no visible injuries, however, she complained of pain to her shoulder. The investigation is continuing.

Highlighted Activity for May 25-28, 2017
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
May 25 at 8:03 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 1100 block of S. Ivy when he
recognized a male subject near the intersection of Cherry and Ivy. The subject was a
wanted suspect in a fraud incident that occurred a week prior. The suspect was arrested
and held pending his court appearance.
Injury Traffic Collision May 25 at 7:01 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Mayflower and Diamond regarding a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Monrovia paramedics arrived on scene and treated the injured party. Both parties were identified and a traffic collision report was completed.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested May 26 at 12:05 a.m., an officer observed a vehicle commit a vehicle code violation near Mountain and Huntington. The driver was stopped and the investigation revealed the driver was intoxicated and too impaired to drive a motor vehicle. He was arrested and held for a sobering period. He was later released with a citation to appear in court.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested May 26 at 4:09 a.m., police dispatch was notified of a vehicle that was stopped in the middle of the street in the 100 block of E. Central and the driver appeared to be slumped over the steering wheel. Officers arrived and determined the driver was intoxicated. The subject was too impaired to drive a motor vehicle and he was arrested for driving under the influence. The subject was held for a sobering period and later released with a citation to appear in court.
Shoplifting May 26 at 2:40 p.m., a shoplifting incident was reported by a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington. A male suspect stole merchandise and ran out the emergency exit. As he exited the store, he dropped the merchandise and fled the area. Officers conducted an area check, but the suspect was not located. The investigation is continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested May 26 at 2:58 p.m., an officer stopped a vehicle in the 400 block of W. Hillcrest for a traffic violation. The driver was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was arrested per the authority of the warrant.
Domestic Violence / Warrant – Suspect Arrested May 27 at 12:34 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of W. Foothill on the report of domestic battery. The female victim reported that her boyfriend pulled her hair. Officers spoke to both parties and learned the male suspect pulled his girlfriend’s hair and dragged her from the bedroom to the living room by her hair. The suspect also had a warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody for domestic violence and the warrant.
Warrant / Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested May 27 at 2:42 p.m., loss prevention at a business in the 300 block of W. Huntington called police to report a male and female inside the store acting suspicious. Officers arrived and contacted the two subjects in the store. A computer check revealed the female had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. She was arrested for the warrant and while being searched, methamphetamine was found in her possession. The additional charge was added.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested May 27 at 5:08 p.m., a possible drunk driver was reported to police at Duarte and Myrtle. An officer located the vehicle in the 700 block of E. Huntington in a business parking lot. The officer contacted the driver, who was behind the wheel with the engine running. Through investigation, the driver was determined to be driving under the influence. The driver was arrested for DUI and also had a suspended license.
Injury Traffic Collision / Driving Under the Influence May 28 at 12:04 a.m., officers responded to the area of Myrtle and Central regarding a multi-vehicle traffic collision. Four vehicles were involved in the accident and three people were injured. The investigation showed a vehicle was traveling south on Myrtle and it collided at a high rate of speed with three other vehicles that were stopped at the intersection. The driver appeared to be intoxicated and was injured. He was taken to a hospital for treatment. Two other occupants from the other vehicles were also taken to the hospital for minor head and facial injuries. The case will be brought to the District Attorney to file charges.
Wanted – Suspect Arrested May 28 at 8:48 a.m., officers on patrol in the 400 block of W. Huntington located a vehicle affiliated with a male subject wanted for questioning by the El Monte Police Department. The vehicle was stopped and the wanted subject was located. He was later released to the El Monte Police Department. The vehicle was returned to the registered owner.
Disturbing Subject / Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested May 28 at 10:04 a.m., officers responded to the 100 block of W. Palm regarding a disturbing subject yelling in the area. They arrived and located a male subject who was yelling at a second subject and being disruptive. The male subject was extremely intoxicated and was arrested for being drunk in public. He was held for a period of sobering.
Grand Theft Auto – Suspects Arrested May 28 at 11:00 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 1100 block of Royal Oaks sometime between 6:30 and 11:00 a.m. The vehicle was equipped with LoJack. The vehicle was located in the Arcadia Mall parking lot and two suspects were arrested.
Threatening May 28 at 2:47 p.m., a resident in the 1700 block of S. Mayflower called police to report her ex-husband had returned and demanded for her to let him into the residence. She told him no and that she was going to phone the police. He then threatened her, telling her he was going to kill her when she left the house. The victim indicated that the suspect was homeless and was unstable. Police conducted and area check for the suspect, but were unable to locate him. He was entered into the law enforcement database as a wanted person.
Injury Traffic Collision May 28 at 8:28 p.m., an injury traffic collision was reported in the 1800 block of S. Mountain. The vehicle was witnessed colliding into a parked vehicle. Officers arrived and found the driver collided into a parked truck and trailer. The driver sustained injuries from the collision and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Highlighted Activity for May 22-24, 2017
Violation of Restraining Order
May 22 at 10:03 a.m., a resident in the 1400 block of S. Magnolia called police to report her adult daughter was at her home in violation of a restraining order on file against her. Officers responded and located the daughter near the residence. The daughter would not comply with officers orders to stop and speak with them. She was detained by the officers. She complained of pain and was eventually taken to a hospital for treatment. A verified complaint will be filed with the District Attorney’s office for filing consideration of the restraining order violation charges.
Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
May 22 at 7:32 p.m., a resident in the 200 block of E. Central called police to report a male subject in her rear yard, hunched over and possibly drunk. Officers located the subject, who told them he was under the influence of heroin and alcohol. The suspect was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was arrested and taken into custody.
Vandalism
May 22 at 10:04 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the 1000 block of S. Canyon when he observed what appeared to be gang graffiti on the north wall of a building off of Almond. The graffiti was written in black spray paint. The graffiti was photographed and graffiti removal was notified. The investigation is continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
May 23 at 2:00 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 800 block of E. Olive when she saw a male subject in the park digging through a trash dumpster. The officers contacted the subject and a computer check revealed he had a warrant for his arrest. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody for the warrant.
Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
May 23 at 8:35 a.m., officers were dispatched to Magnolia and Oaks regarding a suspicious vehicle reported in the area. Officers located a vehicle matching the description provided by the caller and contacted a male subject inside the vehicle. During a consent search, officers located heroin, other drugs and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. The suspect was arrested and the vehicle was stored.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
May 23 at 9:43 p.m., a suspicious female subject who was trying to get into several vehicles in a parking lot in the 300 block of W. Huntington was reported to police. The caller told police the subject appeared to be under the influence or intoxicated. Officers located the female and determined she was too intoxicated to care for her own safety. She was arrested for public intoxication.
Grand Theft
May 23 at 10:05 p.m., a grand theft from a vehicle was reported in the 1300 block of S. Alta Vista. The victim reported that the catalytic converter was removed from his 1998 Honda Accord sometime between May 20 and 22. The vehicle was parked on the street on Alta Vista. The investigation is continuing.

May 24 at 3:00 a.m., officers were on patrol in the 100 block of E. Duarte Road when they observed graffiti written on the wall of a business. The graffiti was written in black spray paint. The investigation is continuing.

Petty Theft From a Vehicle
May 5 at 8:30 a.m., two vehicles on a property in the 400 block of Scenic were left unlocked overnight. Someone went through the vehicles during the night and stole several items. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary
May 5 at 12:19 p.m., a petty theft from a vehicle was reported at a business parking lot in the 200 block of E. Huntington. The victim parked their vehicle in the parking lot and returned to find their windows had been shattered and miscellaneous items were stolen. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary / Grand Theft
May 4 at 1:00 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a business in the 700 block of W. Huntington regarding a grand theft. The victim parked their vehicle in the parking lot and went into the business. When they returned to their vehicle, they saw a window had been smashed and their camera equipment that was in the vehicle had been stolen. The investigation is continuing.
Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
May 4 at 3:55 p.m., loss prevention personnel at a business in the 300 block of W. Huntington phoned police to report they had detained a male suspect for petty theft. The suspect had left the store with merchandise without paying. The suspect was arrested and received a citation to appear in court on the charges.
Residential Burglary
May 4 at 8:51 p.m., officers responded to a residential burglary in the 400 block of N. Primrose. The victims arrived home and went inside to find their house had been ransacked and the suspects were still inside the location. As the victims entered, the suspects fled out of the house and through a neighbor's yard. The victims ran outside and saw the suspects getting into a waiting vehicle. The vehicle is described as a silver Subaru hatchback with paper plates that said "Sierra." The three suspects were all male and were wearing hooded sweatshirts. The loss is still being determined and the investigation is continuing.
Trespassing / Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
May 4 at 10:01 p.m., residents in the 200 block of Montana called police stating they were detaining a subject who was trespassing and refusing to leave. Officers arrived and learned the father was restraining his son. The officer told the father to let go and the officer detained the subject. The officer searched the subject and located a large quantity of methamphetamine and powder cocaine. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Armed Robbery
May 4 at 11:10 p.m., police dispatch received a robbery alarm activation from the 7- Eleven in the 900 block of W. Duarte Road. Officers arrived and made contact with the employee who pushed the robbery button. He said he had been robbed at gunpoint. The victim described the suspects as male Blacks wearing dark colored hooded sweatshirts. One suspect had a black handgun.
The suspects entered the business and asked for a package of cigars. When the employee turned around, he saw one of the suspects had a gun pointed at him. The other suspect told the employee he wanted the money from the register. The employee opened the one register and set the till on the counter. The suspects told him to open the other register. The employee told the suspects he did not have the pin number to open it. They became impatient and left the store on foot with the till from the one register. An area check was completed, but the suspects were not located and the investigation is continuing.
There were multiple armed robberies with similar suspect information at other 7-Elevens in the San Gabriel Valley that same night, as well as on Tuesday, May 2, 2017.
Vehicle Burglaries
May 5 at 4:13 a.m., two vehicles were reported burglarized at a residence in the 1000 block of Norumbega Drive. The victim heard his vehicle alarm sounding, so he came outside to investigate and saw his trunk open and his driver-side window shattered. Two pairs of tennis shoes were taken from the trunk. A second vehicle that belongs to the victim’s girlfriend was also burglarized and the window shattered. A keychain with several keys and an access key card was taken from the vehicle.
At 6:01 a.m., a resident in the 700 block of Norumbega Drive reported two vehicles had been broken into and items were taken. Both vehicles had their windows shattered. The investigation revealed the suspects were casing the area in a dark-colored Ford Explorer and the crime occurred between 4:00 to 4:09 a.m. The investigations are continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
May 5 at 12:21 p.m., an officer was returning from court and saw a subject he knew had warrants out for his arrest. The subject was riding his bicycle in the area of Myrtle and Cypress. A computer check revealed the subject had four warrants for resisting arrest and driving under the influence on a bike. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody without incident.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
May 5 at 9:49 p.m., dispatch received multiple calls reporting a subject lying down on the railroad tracks at Duarte and Mayflower. Metro also called and said they had stopped the train due to the subject on the tracks. Officers responded and located the subject, but he was no longer on the tracks. The subject was extremely intoxicated and was unable to care for his own safety. He was arrested for being drunk in public and held for a sobering period.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
May 6 at 3:04 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the area of Central and Myrtle when he saw a vehicle commit a traffic code violation. He stopped the vehicle and when speaking to the driver, he could smell the odor of alcohol. Through investigation, the driver was determined to be under the influence and was arrested and taken into custody.
Grand Theft
May 6 at 6:58 a.m., a grand theft from a vehicle was reported in the 400 block of W. Scenic. The victim called to report his specialized tools had been stolen from his unsecured vehicle. He had left his vehicle parked on Heather Heights for several days and when he returned to his vehicle, the tools were gone. The investigation is continuing.
Domestic Battery – Suspect Arrested
May 6 at 1:34 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Walnut on a welfare check. The female subject was concerned about the well-being of her boyfriend, who had left the location. During the investigation, it was discovered that the female subject was a victim of domestic battery. Officers located the suspect in Bradbury and placed him under arrest without incident.
Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
May 6 at 2:34 p.m., loss prevention from a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington called police to report a suspect had stolen merchandise and was running from the location. Officers responded and located the suspect attempting to hide nearby. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Critical Missing – Subject Located
May 6 at 9:45 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of E. Walnut regarding a developmentally disabled, 17-year-old male who was visiting and had wandered away from the location. Officers immediately began an area check and surrounding agencies were contacted, as well as the Foothill Air Support Team helicopter. The subject was located by Monrovia’s Special Enforcement Team officers in Arcadia after approximately 30 minutes and was returned to his family.
Vandalism / Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
May 6 at 11:39 p.m., a subject causing a disturbance at a business in the 1500 block of S. Myrtle was reported to police. Officers arrived and detained a subject who was under the influence and had confronted two customers, vandalizing one of their vehicles. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.

May 7 at 2:18 p.m., a shoplifting incident was reported at a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain. A male suspect entered the business, selected merchandise and left the store without paying for the items. The suspect dropped the items as he ran out of the store. Officers located the suspect in the area and learned he also had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody for shoplifting and the warrants.
Public Intoxication
May 7 at 10:35 p.m., officers responded to the 1800 block of Eighth Avenue regarding a man down. They arrived and found a male subject lying on the driveway of a home that did not belong to him. Officers determined he was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. He was arrested for being drunk in public and held for a sobering period.

May 4 at 11:10 p.m., police dispatch received a robbery alarm activation from the 7- Eleven in the 900 block of W. Duarte Road. Officers arrived and made contact with the employee who pushed the robbery button. He said he had been robbed at gunpoint. The victim described the suspects as male Blacks wearing dark colored hooded sweatshirts. One suspect had a black handgun.
The suspects entered the business and asked for a package of cigars. When the employee turned around, he saw one of the suspects had a gun pointed at him. The other suspect told the employee he wanted the money from the register. The employee opened the one register and set the till on the counter. The suspects told him to open the other register. The employee told the suspects he did not have the pin number to open it. They became impatient and left the store on foot with the till from the one register. An area check was completed, but the suspects were not located and the investigation is continuing.
There were multiple armed robberies with similar suspect information at other 7-Elevens in the San Gabriel Valley that same night, as well as on Tuesday, May 2, 2017.
Vehicle Burglaries
May 5 at 4:13 a.m., two vehicles were reported burglarized at a residence in the 1000 block of Norumbega Drive. The victim heard his vehicle alarm sounding, so he came outside to investigate and saw his trunk open and his driver-side window shattered. Two pairs of tennis shoes were taken from the trunk. A second vehicle that belongs to the victim’s girlfriend was also burglarized and the window shattered. A keychain with several keys and an access key card was taken from the vehicle.
At 6:01 a.m., a resident in the 700 block of Norumbega Drive reported two vehicles had been broken into and items were taken. Both vehicles had their windows shattered. The investigation revealed the suspects were casing the area in a dark-colored Ford Explorer and the crime occurred between 4:00 to 4:09 a.m. The investigations are continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
May 5 at 12:21 p.m., an officer was returning from court and saw a subject he knew had warrants out for his arrest. The subject was riding his bicycle in the area of Myrtle and Cypress. A computer check revealed the subject had four warrants for resisting arrest and driving under the influence on a bike. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody without incident.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
May 5 at 9:49 p.m., dispatch received multiple calls reporting a subject lying down on the railroad tracks at Duarte and Mayflower. Metro also called and said they had stopped the train due to the subject on the tracks. Officers responded and located the subject, but he was no longer on the tracks. The subject was extremely intoxicated and was unable to care for his own safety. He was arrested for being drunk in public and held for a sobering period.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
May 6 at 3:04 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the area of Central and Myrtle when he saw a vehicle commit a traffic code violation. He stopped the vehicle and when speaking to the driver, he could smell the odor of alcohol. Through investigation, the driver was determined to be under the influence and was arrested and taken into custody.
Grand Theft
May 6 at 6:58 a.m., a grand theft from a vehicle was reported in the 400 block of W. Scenic. The victim called to report his specialized tools had been stolen from his unsecured vehicle. He had left his vehicle parked on Heather Heights for several days and when he returned to his vehicle, the tools were gone. The investigation is continuing.
Domestic Battery – Suspect Arrested
May 6 at 1:34 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Walnut on a welfare check. The female subject was concerned about the well-being of her boyfriend, who had left the location. During the investigation, it was discovered that the female subject was a victim of domestic battery. Officers located the suspect in Bradbury and placed him under arrest without incident.
Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
May 6 at 2:34 p.m., loss prevention from a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington called police to report a suspect had stolen merchandise and was running from the location. Officers responded and located the suspect attempting to hide nearby. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Critical Missing – Subject Located
May 6 at 9:45 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of E. Walnut regarding a developmentally disabled, 17-year-old male who was visiting and had wandered away from the location. Officers immediately began an area check and surrounding agencies were contacted, as well as the Foothill Air Support Team helicopter. The subject was located by Monrovia’s Special Enforcement Team officers in Arcadia after approximately 30 minutes and was returned to his family.
Vandalism / Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
May 6 at 11:39 p.m., a subject causing a disturbance at a business in the 1500 block of S. Myrtle was reported to police. Officers arrived and detained a subject who was under the influence and had confronted two customers, vandalizing one of their vehicles. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
May 7 at 2:18 p.m., a shoplifting incident was reported at a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain. A male suspect entered the business, selected merchandise and left the store without paying for the items. The suspect dropped the items as he ran out of the store. Officers located the suspect in the area and learned he also had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody for shoplifting and the warrants.
Public Intoxication
May 7 at 10:35 p.m., officers responded to the 1800 block of Eighth Avenue regarding a man down. They arrived and found a male subject lying on the driveway of a home that did not belong to him. Officers determined he was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. He was arrested for being drunk in public and held for a sobering period.

Highlighted Activity for April 27-30, 2017
Hit & Run Traffic Collision April 27 at 9:51 a.m., officers responded to Magnolia and Evergreen on the report of a hit and run traffic collision. The suspect driver rear-ended a vehicle and fled the scene. Officers checked the area for the suspect vehicle and located it in the 400 block of Andre in the city of Duarte. The driver of the vehicle was also located and he had sustained injuries from the accident when his head hit the windshield. The windshield had cracked and lacerated his forehead. The vehicle was towed and the driver was taken to a hospital for treatment. The driver admitted to being involved in the collision.
Grand Theft Auto April 27 at 7:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 500 block of W. Huntington regarding a stolen vehicle report. The victim left his keys unattended on a table inside of a restaurant for approximately ten minutes. When he returned to the table, he realized his keys were gone. He went out to the parking lot and saw that his vehicle had been stolen. The investigation is continuing.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered / Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested April 28 at 7:25 a.m., a suspicious person was reported at a business in the 2100 block of S. Myrtle. A female subject entered the location and was driving around inside the property. A worker thought the female was acting suspicious and phoned police to report the activity. Officers arrived and located the vehicle. The investigation revealed that the vehicle was stolen and the female suspect was under the influence. She was arrested and the vehicle was recovered and returned to the owner.
Vandalism Incident April 28 at 8:39 a.m., officers responded to the 1100 block of Sesmas regarding a vandalism incident. The victim reported that the windows on her vehicle had been shattered. A female adult in a dark colored SUV was seen driving up to the victim's vehicle. The female exited the SUV and proceeded to shatter multiple windows on the vehicle. She then got back into the SUV and left the area. The investigation is continuing. Grand Theft Auto Recovered April 28 at 6:10 p.m., an abandoned vehicle was reported in the 100 block of E. Cypress. The black Chevy Tahoe had been parked there for three days. The license plate number was checked and it returned to a vehicle reported stolen out of Pomona. Officers responded and recovered the vehicle.
Assault Report April 28 at 9:36 p.m., a nurse from a local hospital phoned police to report a subject in the ER that had been assaulted in Monrovia. Officers responded and spoke to the subject, who said he had been assaulted at a bar in the 1500 block of S. Myrtle. He said he had been drinking and playing pool. At approximately 8:00 p.m., he stepped out to the back alley to use the restroom when he was assaulted. He didn't know the suspects, but believes there were three of them. The victim had some facial wounds and some bruising to his upper torso area, where he was possibly hit or kicked. The investigation is continuing.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested April 28 at 10:25 p.m., an officer was on patrol the area of Mountain and Royal Oaks when he saw a vehicle traveling on the opposite side of the road. He stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, who displayed symptoms of being intoxicated. After performing field sobriety tests, the driver was arrested for DUI.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested April 28 at 10:40 p.m., officers were dispatched to the report of a disturbing subject at Foothill and Magnolia. The subject was shining a flashlight at drivers. An officer responded and located the subject at Magnolia and Chestnut. The officer stopped to talk to him and a computer check revealed he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Theft From a Vehicle April 29 at 10:15 a.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 600 block of W. Foothill. The victim reported that they parked their vehicle on Highland the day before, and when they returned to the vehicle the next day, they saw items were missing. The vehicle had been left unlocked. The investigation is continuing.
Petty Theft April 29 at 12:45 p.m., a theft was reported at a business in the 400 block of W. Maple. A female adult walked into the business and took a cell phone and pair of shoes that belonged to a customer who was taking a class. The investigation is continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested April 29 at 10:19 p.m., an employee at a business in the 200 block of W. Huntington called police to report a disturbing female inside the location who was throwing items. They asked her to leave and she refused. Officers arrived and spoke to the subject. A computer check revealed an outstanding warrant for her arrest. She was arrested and taken into custody for the warrant.
Intoxicated in Public – Suspect Arrested April 29 at 11:05 p.m., officers responded to the report of a man down on the sidewalk in the 100 block of Montana. Officers arrived, made contact with the subject and determined he was intoxicated. The subject was unable to care for his own safety and was arrested for being drunk in public. He was held for a sobering period.
Intoxicated in Public – Suspect arrested April 30 at 1:28 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the area of Myrtle and Colorado when he noticed a male subject walking on the sidewalk, having some difficulty. The officer made contact with the subject and realized he was intoxicated and unable to care for his own safety. The subject was arrested for being drunk in public and was held for sobering.
Theft From a Vehicle April 30 at 11:41 a.m., a resident in the 1000 block of Orange called police to report a theft from his vehicle. The theft occurred sometime overnight and the suspect(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and stole a bag of tools. The investigation is continuing.
Theft From a Vehicle April 30 at 2:42 p.m., officers responded to the report of a theft from a vehicle in the 200 block of E. Cypress. The victim reported that sometime overnight, someone entered his unlocked vehicle and stole his wallet. The investigation is continuing.

Highlighted Activity for March 23-26, 2017
Vandalism
March 23 at 11:52 a.m., a vandalism incident was reported at a residence in the 800 block of E. Foothill. The reporting party was at home when she heard glass break. A ball bearing came through the front window. It is unknown if the ball bearing was intentionally shot through the front window by a BB gun or if it came off of a vehicle, as the location is in close proximity to the street. The investigation is continuing.
Violation of Court Order / Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
March 23 at 2:49 p.m., an altercation was reported at a residence in the 1400 block of S. Magnolia. The altercation was between a male and female that are involved in a dating relationship. Officers arrived and contacted the female. The learned there is a restraining order against the female and she is not allowed at the location. She stated that her boyfriend punched her. He was not at the location. The female was arrested for violation of the court order and the case will be sent to the District Attorney for filing charges against the male suspect.

March 23 at 4:45 p.m., officers responded to a call of a disturbance at a park in the 300 block of S. Myrtle. One of the subjects causing the disturbance was found to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest and she was arrested without incident.
Battery
March 23 at 7:06 p.m., a battery incident was reported at a residence in the 100 block of N. Mountain. The reporting party advised that the brother of a female resident pushed his sister to the ground and left the area. Officers responded to the location and attempted to get a statement from the female, but she suffers from dementia and could not remember what happened. The female had a complaint of pain to her head and wanted to go to the hospital. Officers called the brother and he said he got into an argument with his sister about her not wanting to live there anymore. He said he was trying to restrain his sister when he lost his balance and fell to the ground with her. The investigation is continuing.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
March 24 at 2:08 a.m., a caller dialed 911 and said she was stuck in an elevator, but
didn't know where she was. Dispatchers were able to determine she was at the Metro
parking structure in the 1600 block of S. Primrose. Officers arrived and located the
female inside the elevator. Upon speaking with her, they realized she was extremely
intoxicated and unable to care for her own safety. She was arrested for being drunk in
public and held for a sobering period.
Trespassing / Unlawful Possession of Access Cards – Suspect Arrested
March 24 at 5:19 a.m., a caller reported a male subject sleeping in the lobby of a
building in the 100 block of E. Huntington. When Officers arrived, they woke the subject.
A consent search, revealed the subject was in possession of two credit cards in
someone else's name. The subject said the cards belonged to his aunt and he admitted
to stealing them. The subject was arrested for possession of the cards.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
March 24 at 8:32 a.m., a female resident in the 1700 block of S. Mountain called police
to report her ex-husband was at the location. She advised he had an outstanding
warrant for his arrest. Officers responded and contacted the subject. A computer check
confirmed the warrant and he was arrested and taken into custody.

March 24 at 12:17 p.m., officers were on patrol in the 100 block of W. Palm when they
contacted four subjects in an alley. Two of the subjects had warrants for their arrest.
They were arrested and taken into custody.
Vandalism
March 24 at 4:13 p.m., a vandalism incident was reported in a parking lot in the 100
block of E. Lime. The victim parked her vehicle in the lot for several hours. When she
returned to her vehicle, she found it had been keyed. The victim believes it may be
related to an earlier incident where two subjects were arguing with her over a parking
space. The investigation is continuing.
Warrants / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
March 25 at 1:15 a.m., an officer on patrol was driving in the 100 block of East Lemon
when he was flagged down by a business owner. The officer was told a male and
female were drinking alcohol outside in the street. Officers located the subjects and a
computer check revealed the male subject had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.
When he was searched, the officer found two glass drug pipes on him. He was arrested
for the warrants and being in possession of drug paraphernalia.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
March 25 at 2:01 a.m., a female subject walked into the police station lobby and was
waiting for her friend, who had been arrested for warrants, to be released. While waiting
in the lobby, an officer saw her drinking alcohol from a bottle. The officer contacted her
and told her to pour out the alcohol outside. When she walked outside the station, she
tried to drink more whiskey from the bottle, but forgot the cap was on. The officer
determined she was too intoxicated to care for her own safety and she was arrested for
being drunk in public and held for a sobering period.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered
March 25 at 2:04 a.m., an officer was providing extra patrol to a business parking lot in
the 900 block of W. Huntington when he saw an unoccupied vehicle that looked like it
had been ransacked. He ran the license plate and it returned stolen out of Arcadia. The
vehicle was recovered.
Injury Traffic Collision / Driving on a Suspended License
March 25 at 1:47 p.m., three vehicles were involved in a rear-end collision at the
intersection of Mayflower and Huntington. Three subjects from the accident complained
of pain and were treated by paramedics. The driver that caused the collision was driving
on a suspended license. He was cited and his vehicle was towed for being unregistered.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered – Suspects Arrested
March 26 at 12:50 a.m., an officer was driving in the 400 block of W. Huntington when
he saw a suspicious vehicle. He conducted a computer check of the vehicle, which
revealed it had been reported stolen. Officers responded to assist and a high-risk traffic
stop was conducted. Two suspects were taken into custody without incident. During a
search of the vehicle incident to arrest, evidence of fraud and stolen property were
recovered.
Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
March 26 at 1:12 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation in
the 100 block of W. Duarte Road. The driver was determined to be driving on a
suspended driver's license. During a consensual search of the vehicle, a baggie of
heroin and a needle belonging to the passenger were recovered. The passenger was
arrested.
Vehicle Tampering
March 26 at 3:46 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the area of Chestnut and Magnolia
regarding a male subject breaking into a vehicle. The officer arrived and found a subject
lying inside of a vehicle. The subject was detained. The owner of the vehicle responded
and completed a private person's arrest for vehicle tampering. The suspect was
arrested without incident.
Theft / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
March 26 at 2:21 p.m., a female subject was reported for taking beer from a location in
the 700 block of E. Huntington without paying for it. The suspect stayed at the location
in a vehicle and was detained by officers. A computer check revealed she also had a
warrant for her arrest. She was arrested for the theft and the warrant.
Domestic Battery
March 26 at 2:49 p.m., a fight in progress between a male and female was reported in
the 100 block of E. Lemon. Officers arrived and detained both parties involved in the
fight. The two are involved in a dating relationship. During the investigation, it was
determined the female subject was the primary aggressor. She was arrested for
domestic battery.

Highlighted Activity for March 16-19, 2017
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
March 16 at 9:25 a.m., police received a call reporting a male subject had struck a female and proceeded to force her into a public restroom at the Metro Rail Station in the 1600 block of S. Myrtle. Officers were dispatched to the location. Officers were given a good description of both parties and quickly detained both subjects. After investigation, the male half was arrested for domestic violence.
Family Disturbance / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
March 16 at 11:45 a.m., officers responded to the report of a family disturbance at a residence in the 1400 block of S. Magnolia. When officers arrived, they spoke to the female half and discovered she had an outstanding warrant. She was arrested and removed from the location.
Petty Theft / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
March 16 at 12:32 p.m., a shoplifting in progress was reported at a business in the 300 block of W. Huntington Drive. Officers arrived and located two suspects matching the description provided by the reporting party. One of the subjects had outstanding warrants and was arrested. The other was released.

March 16 at 10:37 p.m., officers were on patrol near a park in the 300 block of S. Myrtle and found a subject sleeping in a walkway. A computer check revealed he had two outstanding warrants and he was arrested.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
March 17 at 2:46 a.m., officers were on patrol in the 100 block of Los Angeles when they saw a subject stumbling in an alley. He was found to be extremely intoxicated and unable to care for his own safety. He was arrested for being drunk in public.
Grand Theft Auto Attempt
March 17 at 10:22 a.m., officers responded to the report of a vehicle burglary in the 200 block of Kruse Avenue. When they arrived, they found the ignition to the victim's vehicle had been punched and there was a shaved screw driver left on the floorboard of the vehicle. The stereo had been removed and stolen. It appears the suspects were attempting to steal the vehicle, but were not successful. The vehicle was locked. The investigation is continuing.
Traffic Collision / Property Damage
March 17 at 10:31 a.m., a traffic collision was reported in the 100 block of E. Walnut. An elderly female was attempting to park and forgot to place her foot on the brake. She continued to drive through the parking spot, over the curb and into the front glass windows of a business. She narrowly missed an employee inside the business. The driver was given a re-examination notification.
Drunk in Public – Suspect Arrested
March 17 at 10:35 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Spanner regarding a female subject lying on the ground and a male standing over her. Officers arrived and learned that the subjects are boyfriend and girlfriend. They were both extremely intoxicated and were trying to walk home. The female had fallen several times and the male kept picking her up to try to walk her home. The female was so intoxicated she had to be taken to a hospital for treatment. The male was too intoxicated to care for his own safety and was arrested for being drunk in public.
Traffic Collision
March 18 at 7:51 p.m., a traffic collision was reported in the 1000 block of Briarcliff. A vehicle traveling on Briarcliff went off the side of the road and landed approximately ten feet down an embankment. There were four occupants in the vehicle, but none of them were injured. It appears the owner of the vehicle had done some work on the brakes and may have left air in the lines, causing the brakes to fail.
Trespassing – Suspects Arrested
March 19 at 10:50 p.m., officers responded to a trespassing report at a motel in the 900 block of E. Huntington. A subject was entering the room he had rented at the motel and found a young male and female were inside the room. Both subjects fled on foot from the room. The male subject dropped his wallet in the room as he was leaving. Both subjects returned to the Motel to retrieve the wallet and were detained by officers. Further investigation revealed the door had been left unlocked by management and they had only been in the room for a few minutes. The 16-year-old female was found to be a reported runaway from Los Angeles. Both subjects were arrested for trespassing.

Warrant – Suspect Arrested
March 9 at 8:22 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 100 block of W. Palm regarding several subjects blocking a driveway. One of the subjects had an outstanding warrant and was arrested.
Outside Assist / Commercial Burglary – Suspects Arrested
March 9 at 8:32 a.m., officers assisted Arcadia Police Department with an investigation of suspects involved in a pursuit. During the course of the investigation, receipts and possible stolen merchandise from a business in Monrovia were located inside the suspect vehicle. Monrovia officers went to the business in the 500 block of Duarte Road and discovered it had been burglarized during the night. The suspects were arrested and joint investigations are being conducted.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
March 9 at 10:49 p.m., an officer on patrol saw a vehicle fail to stop for the red light at California and Huntington. The officer stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, who displayed symptoms of being intoxicated. Through investigation, the driver was determined to be driving under the influence and was arrested. He was taken into custody, where he was held for a sobering period.
Criminal Threats – Suspect Arrested
March 10 at 12:41 a.m., a female resident in the 700 block of E. Greystone called police to report her husband pointed a shotgun at her. She said she was lying in bed asleep when she was awakened by her husband, who was holding a shotgun. He threatened her and opened the shotgun to show her it was loaded. The two shells fell out onto the bed. She grabbed the shells, pushed him, and ran to a neighbor’s house and called police.
She advised police that their two children were still in the house, ages 3 and 7. When Officers arrived, they positioned themselves around the residence. An officer called the house by phone and spoke to the suspect at length until eventually he was able to persuade the suspect to come out. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody without further incident. The children were unharmed and slept through the entire incident.
Threatening Social Media Post
March 10 at 5:08 p.m., police received notification of a threatening post on a social media site that displayed handguns with a caption reading, "I've had enough, getting ready for Monday MHS." Officers contacted the high school and officers interviewed the students that received the post. Some of the students replied to the post on the site, telling the individual that it was no joking matter and how serious the situation was due to the posting.
The student who posted the photo replied to everyone on the site that he was just kidding and only meant it as a joke. He said he didn't want to harm anyone and he was only joking. When the officers interviewed the student who posted the photo, he admitted to posting it, and said he was at a friend’s house when he got the idea on his own. The friend had BB guns and he took a photo of them. He then posted the photo with the comment on the social media site. He said he only wanted attention on the site and did not know it would go this far and involve the police. He was counseled and his parents were advised. Officers, through investigation, located the BB guns and confiscated them. The school will be handling the discipline of the student and the investigators will be contacting the District Attorney for the filing of potential criminal charges.
Stolen Vehicle
March 10 at 8:24 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 1300 block of S. Magnolia. The victim parked his vehicle on the street in the evening, locking the doors and making sure he rolled up the windows. When he came out the next morning at 7:30 a.m., the vehicle was gone. He did not give anyone permission to take the vehicle, a 2006 Acura. The investigation is continuing.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
March 10 at 11:18 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the 300 block of S. Myrtle when he saw a subject sleeping in the park covered up by a blanket. He made contact with the subject and saw an empty bottle of alcohol next to him. The subject was intoxicated and thought he was in Alhambra. He was arrested for being drunk in public and held for a sobering period.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
March 11 at 1:13 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of W. Colorado regarding a domestic dispute. A male and female subject who live at the location became involved in an argument that escalated and turned physical. The female had visible abrasions and scratches to her back, arm and leg. The male subject was arrested for domestic violence. The female signed a refusal to prosecute, but wanted and emergency protection order, which was granted.
Petty Theft – Suspect Arrested
March 11 at 7:59 a.m., the victim of petty theft reported her cell phone missing. She stated that she last had her cell phone at a gas station at Mountain and Huntington. Officers used the Find my iPhone app and located her phone at a park in the 600 block of S. Shamrock. The officers detained a homeless person in possession of the phone, who said he found the cell phone at the gas station. The victim said the cell phone was
in her pocket the whole time while she was at the station. The suspect was arrested for misappropriation of lost property.
Injury Traffic Collision

March 12 at 1:38 p.m., a theft of tools was reported in the 100 block of Acacia. The victim parked his work truck with tool storage boxes on the street the day before and the tool boxes were locked. The next day he returned to the truck and discovered the storage boxes unlocked and his tools were missing. The suspects possibly picked the locks on the truck. The investigation is continuing.

Battery / Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Warrants – Suspects Arrested
March 2 at 5:29 p.m., dispatch received several calls reporting two male adults fighting in the 100 block of Norumbega Drive. Officers arrived and located one male adult, and while speaking with him, discovered he was on probation. During a pat-down search, he was found to have drug paraphernalia in his possession. Another officer located the second male suspect nearby, who was found to have several warrants. While speaking with the second suspect, a female approached. She was found to have several warrants and had methamphetamine in her possession. All three suspects were arrested.

March 2 at 7:25 p.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 900 block of Crescent. The vehicle was parked in the victim’s driveway with the doors unlocked. The suspect entered the vehicle and took a backpack containing miscellaneous school supplies and a bag containing clothing that was going to be donated. The investigation is continuing.

March 3 at 3:30 p.m., officers responded to the report of a male adult slumped over the wheel of a parked vehicle in the 200 block of Linwood Avenue. Officers located the vehicle and an adult male inside, who was unresponsive. The officers made entry into the vehicle and saw a loaded syringe sticking out of the inner thigh of the driver. Officers were able to revive the subject, who admitted to being addicted to heroin. The suspect was arrested and the vehicle was stored.

March 4 at 12:54 a.m., officers responded to the 400 block of W. Huntington regarding
the report of a suspicious subject in the area. They arrived and contacted the subject. A
computer check revealed he had an outstanding warrant and he was arrested. While
searching the suspect, he was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.

March 4 at 11:13 a.m., a security guard from a business in the 100 block of W. Foothill
flagged down an officer who was driving by on Myrtle. He informed the officer that a
subject in a silver charger had just sped through the parking lot and almost hit him. The
officer turned into the parking area to look for the vehicle and was stopped by a patron,
who reported that the same subject in the silver charger had tossed a handgun out of
the vehicle window as it sped through the parking lot. The officer recovered the weapon,
which was not registered, and an extensive search was conducted for the vehicle, but it
was not located. Neighboring agencies were contacted to see if they had any reports of
a recent shooting. The investigation is continuing.

March 4 at 3:04 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Norumbega
on the report of a family disturbance. Officers arrived and separated three adults and
spoke with them. They were all disruptive and combative with each other. One subject
was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and a second was arrested for
battery.
Counterfeit Currency / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
March 4 at 4:13 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of W. Huntington on the
report of subjects bathing outside. The officers arrived and located several subjects
possibly involved in the reported activity. While speaking with the subjects, the officers
located counterfeit U.S. currency belonging to one of the subjects. He was arrested and
taken into custody. He was also found to have an outstanding warrant.

March 4 at 10:07 p.m., an intoxicated female in a vehicle was reported at a business
parking lot in the 1600 block of S. Mountain. Officers arrived and located the subject.
After investigation, the female driver was arrested for driving under the influence and

900 block of W. Huntington. The victim parked her vehicle in the parking lot and when
she returned, she found the driver side window had been shattered and her purse,

the rear window had been smashed, allowing the suspect to gain access. The

vandalism incident. Sometime during the early morning hours, an unknown suspect
shattered the front passenger side window of his parked vehicle. No property appeared

drivers pulled into a parking lot to exchange information. Officers arrived and contacted
the drivers. The driver who rear ended the other vehicle was determined to be driving
under the influence and was arrested and held for a sobering period.

into vehicles in the area. Officers arrived and located the subject. He was determined to
be extremely intoxicated and unable to care for his own safety. He was arrested for
public intoxication.

of Almond. A white, late 1990's Jeep Cherokee was seen pulling up to the home and
two teenage male suspects exited. They walked up to the victim's truck and broke a
window, then walked up the driveway and broke a window on the victim's Toyota
Camry. They fled in their vehicle. The suspects never tried to get into the vehicles to
take anything. The investigation is continuing.

Weapons Offense
February 2 at 9:50 p.m., an officer was flagged down in the 300 block of W. Maple by a male subject. The subject told the officer that a male Hispanic and a male Black confronted him at a fast food restaurant at Huntington and Mayflower. The suspects accused him of taking a bicycle and brandished a pistol. The suspects then fled in a gray Nissan Altima and headed east through the alley.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
February 3 at 12:41 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1500 block of Alamitas Avenue regarding a male and female who had been arguing. The female stated that the male became upset with her and grabbed her around the throat. He also threatened to kill her if she called the police. The male suspect was arrested for domestic violence and taken into custody.
Criminal Threats
February 3 at 5:52 a.m., police dispatch received a phone call from a suspect who was making threats regarding violence against the high school. Officers were deployed to the high school for security and to investigate. No verified threat could be established. The school resource officer stayed at the high school throughout the day. No suspects were located. The investigation is continuing.
Petty Theft – Suspect Arrested
February 3 at 5:30 p.m., a petty theft was reported at a business in the 300 block of W. Huntington. A male adult stole merchandise from the store. Officers arrived and located the subject, who had no identification on him. He was arrested and taken into custody. The subject was identified and later released on a citation to appear in court on the charges.

February 3 at 7:08 p.m., officers responded to a park in the 300 block of S. Myrtle regarding a male subject yelling at families in the park. The officers determined the subject was drunk and he was arrested for public intoxication.

February 3 at 10:16 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 400 block of E. Colorado regarding a subject causing a disturbance. An area check was conducted and the subject found. Through investigation, officers determined the subject was under the influence of drugs. The suspect was arrested.

February 3 at 10:46 p.m., an officer was on patrol at a park in the 100 block of W. Palm when he contacted a subject. A computer check revealed the subject had an outstanding warrant. The suspect was arrested for the warrant.

February 4 at 12:53 a.m., a vehicle was reported to police that was parked on the street and facing the wrong way. An officer located the vehicle and found a male subject asleep behind the wheel of the vehicle. The keys were not in the ignition and the engine was cold. The male was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for being drunk in public.
Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
February 5 at 1:23 p.m., loss prevention at a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington called police to report a shoplifter. They observed a subject select an item from inside the store and leave without paying. They followed the subject out of the store, but lost sight of him as he entered another location. Officers responded to the location and located the suspect, who was found to have several outstanding warrants also. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Residential Burglary
February 5 at 1:52 p.m., a residential burglary was reported in the 200 block of N. Mountain. The victim left her residence for a few hours and when she returned, she discovered her room and a hallway closet had been ransacked. The loss was jewelry. The investigation is continuing.

Injury Traffic Collision
January 26 at 4:39 p.m., a traffic collision involving injuries was reported at Duarte Road and Sixth Avenue. One of the drivers rear ended the other, causing serious injuries to both drivers. Both were taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
Elder Abuse Scam
January 26 at 7:15 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of S. Fifth Avenue to speak with an elderly female regarding a possible fiduciary crime. The subject said she was befriended by a man on Facebook and they used Facebook messenger to speak with each other. The male subject told her he was in the military and was stuck in Dubois due to an explosion. He told her the explosion destroyed his credentials and he couldn't leave the country. He said he needed money sent to a travel agent in Amarillo, Texas. The elderly female eventually sent $20,000 through a wire transfer. The investigation is continuing.

January 26 at 9:20 p.m., dispatch received a call reporting a man yelling and causing a disturbance in the 100 block of E. Olive. When officers arrived, they saw a male subject in the street. They contacted him and determined he was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. The subject was arrested for being drunk in public and held for a sobering period.
Violation of Court Order
January 27 at 7:16 p.m., a female subject from a business in the 100 block of W. Lime contacted police to report a violation of a court order. The subject has a restraining order against an ex-employee of hers that restricts contact, including electronic communication. The subject received a message through Yelp from the restrained person. The restrained person claimed the communication was an accident and that she meant to send the message to herself. A verified complaint was sent to the District Attorney’s office for filing consideration.
Bicycle Theft
January 27 at 9:39 p.m., a theft of two bicycles was reported in the 100 block of W. Foothill. Two juveniles left their bicycles outside of a fast food restaurant without securing them and went inside to eat. When they finished and came outside, there was a large group of juveniles in front of the business and their bicycles were gone. No witnesses came forward. The investigation is continuing.
Shoplifting / Identity theft – Suspect Arrested
January 27 at 9:44 p.m., loss prevention at a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington called police to report a female suspect they detained for shoplifting. The subject had concealed jewelry and clothing merchandise on her person. She was arrested for shoplifting, and during an inventory search of her property, two driver's licenses and social security cards belonging to other people were found in her possession. The additional crime was added to her charges.

January 28 at 8:25 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 900 block of S. Fifth Avenue regarding a subject sleeping in a hallway. Officers arrived and contacted the subject, who was too intoxicated to care for his own safety. When officers attempted to arrest the subject for being drunk in public, the subject resisted and struggled with the officers. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Embezzled Vehicle / Bench Warrant – Suspect Arrested
January 28 at 1:25 p.m., officers located a vehicle at Myrtle and Chestnut that had been reported as an embezzled vehicle. The driver was detained for investigation. The victim was contacted and did not desire prosecution of the driver. The person who embezzled the car from the victim had sold it to the driver. The vehicle was recovered. During the investigation, it was discovered the driver had two outstanding bench warrants and a suspended driver's license. He was arrested and taken into custody for the warrants.

January 28 at 8:37 p.m., a caller reported a possible drunk driver in the area of Myrtle and Duarte Road. Officers in the area conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle and a DUI investigation was conducted. The driver was determined to be intoxicated and was arrested.
Commercial Burglary – Suspects Arrested
January 30 at 1:08 a.m., an alarm activation was received at a business in the 600 block of W. Huntington. When the officer arrived, he saw the front doors had been pried open. The store video depicted three suspects forcing the front door open and they attempted to break into the store safe with a sledge hammer. The suspect vehicle was a dark Chevy Tahoe with paper plates. At 3:00 a.m., an officer on patrol saw the suspect vehicle enter a car wash parking lot in the 100 block of W. Duarte. Additional units responded to assist and the two suspects were arrested for burglary.

Vandalism
January 2 at 6:09 p.m., a vandalism was reported in the 500 block of N. Alta Vista. The officer responded to the location regarding a damaged fence at a private lot. No one saw how the damage occurred. After reviewing surveillance video, it appeared a male adult was walking his dog up the hill off Sky Way on a private lot. The subject was unable to exit so he cut the chain link fence to exit the property. It is unknown where he entered from. He was last seen walking east down Sky Way and out of view. The investigation is continuing.
Counterfeit US Currency
January 3 at 3:10 p.m., a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington called police to report a patron attempting to pass a counterfeit bill. The suspect left the store prior to the police arrival. The suspect opened an account with a name, phone and email prior to making his purchase. As the suspect was leaving, the clerk realized the $100 bill was counterfeit. Further investigation revealed that the information the suspect used to open the store account was false. The investigation is continuing.

January 3 at 5:13 p.m., an officer responded to a business in the 600 block of W. Huntington Dr. regarding the theft of a wallet. The victim told the officer she was approached by a female who distracted the victim by asking her information about store products. The suspect was able to take the victim’s wallet from her purse while she was distracted. The investigation is continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
January 4 at 4:48 a.m., an officer on patrol stopped a bicyclist for a vehicle code violation in the area of Foothill and Canyon. Further investigation revealed the subject had a $50,000 warrant for his arrest. The suspect was arrested and taken to the Monrovia Police Department where he was booked.
Violation of Court Order – Suspect Arrested
January 4 at 10:36 a.m., an officer responded to a call at a residence in the 200 block of
Stedman regarding a violation of a court order. The Victim was a parent who served her
son with a restraining order to stay away from the residence. The adult son was served
and refused to leave the property. The subject was arrested for the violation of court
order.
Mail Theft
January 4 at 4:14 p.m., a resident called the police to report a female subject was
stealing mail in the 500 block of Norumbega. The female was seen running with the mail
to an awaiting mid-size, silver truck. The vehicle sped off south on Norumbega. The
suspect was a female Hispanic between 20-30 years old wearing a white sweatshirt and
pants. The officers checked the area for the suspects but were unable to locate them.

Bear Incident
December 16 at 11:10 a.m., a bear was reported in the 100 block of N. Lincoln. The bear had wandered into a back yard. The bear had previously been tagged and it appeared injured. Pasadena Humane and the Department of Fish and Wildlife were notified. The bear was tranquilized and taken into Azusa Canyon.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
December 16 at 4:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Magnolia Avenue on the report of several subjects arguing and causing a disturbance. Officers arrived and were told that a male adult had been arguing with residents. The subject left the area prior to police arrival. The officers located the subject and determined he could not care for himself due to his level of intoxication. He was arrested and held for a sobering period.

December 16 at 9:56 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 500 block of W. Huntington. The victim parked her vehicle at the location and went into work. When she returned, she found her vehicle was missing. The investigation is continuing.

December 16 at 10:08 p.m., an officer stopped a bicyclist in the 500 block of W. Huntington for a vehicle code violation. The subject would not comply with the officer's repeated commands to remove his hands from his pockets. Officers gained control of the subject's hands and detained him. The subject was found to be in possession of burglary tools. He was arrested and taken into custody for resisting and delaying a peace officer and possession of burglary tools.

December 17 at 2:14 a.m., an officer observed a vehicle commit a vehicle code violation in the 400 block of S. Myrtle and stopped the vehicle. While speaking to the driver, the
officer noted obvious signs of alcohol intoxication. The driver was arrested for DUI and held for a sobering period.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
December 18 at 1:04 a.m., police responded to the report of a domestic disturbance in the 1100 block of S. Myrtle. The caller reported that she heard what sounded like a male hitting a female at the location. An officer arrived and contacted a male and female that are married and have a child together. The child was sleeping at the time of this incident. After speaking with subjects, it was determined that the male subject was the aggressor in the incident. He was arrested for domestic violence and taken into custody.
Residential Burglary
December 18 at 7:55 a.m., a residential burglary was reported in the 500 block of Valmont. The resident was out of town, but was alerted by his security alarm that there was movement on his property. The resident called his neighbor to have him check his yard, but did not call police. The neighbor checked and discovered a rear slider had been smashed, so the neighbor called police. Officers arrived and checked the residence, but the suspects had fled the location. The loss was cash from a small safe. The investigation is continuing.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
December 18 at 9:15 p.m., police dispatch received a call regarding a subject who was causing a disturbance at a business in the 400 block of W. Huntington. Officers arrived and located the subject in the business parking lot. The subject was found to be extremely intoxicated and unable to care for himself and his own safety. The subject was arrested for being drunk in public and held for a sobering period.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
December 19 at 1:29 a.m., officers saw a subject lying down on the sidewalk at Myrtle and Foothill. They stopped to check on the welfare of the subject. The officers determined the subject was too intoxicated to care for his own safety. The subject was arrested for being drunk in public and was held for a sobering period.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
December 19 at 3:55 a.m., officers observed a vehicle commit a vehicle code violation at Huntington and Primrose, and they stopped the vehicle. While speaking to the driver, the officer noted symptoms of alcohol intoxication. After investigation, the driver was arrested for DUI, held for a sobering period and later released with a citation to appear in court.

Theft of Mail – Suspect Arrested
December 12 at 7:25 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of W. Evergreen regarding a male suspect seen taking mail from mailboxes. The officers arrived and detained the suspect. The suspect was in possession of numerous pieces of mail from Evergreen and Magnolia. A computer check revealed the suspect also had outstanding warrants for his arrest. The suspect was arrested for the theft of mail and the warrants. The theft of mail investigation was turned over to postal investigators.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
December 12 at 6:53 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of S. Magnolia regarding three subjects that were possibly intoxicated. Officers arrived and detained one of the subjects that was too intoxicated to care for himself. He was arrested and held for a sobering period.
Petty Theft
December 12 at 7:22 p.m., the victim of a petty theft came into the police station lobby to report his leaf blower had been stolen at around 9:00 a.m. that morning. The victim is a gardener. He was working when he saw a male adult take a leaf blower off his truck and drive away in a newer-model, blue Lexus. The investigation is continuing.

December 12 at 10:57 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 700 block of W. Huntington regarding the report of a male adult that appeared intoxicated. The officers located the subject and determined he was too intoxicated to care for himself. He was arrested and held for a sobering period.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
December 13 at 12:34 a.m., an officer on patrol stopped a male and female adult for traffic violations on their bikes. A computer check revealed the male had a warrant for his arrest. He was arrested for the warrant.
Residential Burglary
December 13 at 7:01 p.m., a burglary was reported at a residence in the 300 block of E.
Palm. The suspect partially pried a screen off a window, but was not successful in
entering through the window. The resident discovered jewelry missing. It is unknown
how the suspect entered the residence. The investigation is continuing.
Residential Burglary
December 13 at 9:12 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of N.
Encinitas on the report of a burglary. The window in the back door to the home had
been smashed and entry was made. There were several miscellaneous items and
jewelry taken. The investigation is continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
December 14 at 3:52 a.m., an officer on patrol stopped a subject on a bike for a vehicle
code violation in the 800 block of S. Magnolia. A computer check revealed he had two
warrants for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody on the warrants.
Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspects Arrested
December 14 at 4:04 a.m., officers stopped to check out a suspicious vehicle in the 600
block of S. Alta Vista with its dome light on. Two subjects were located inside the
vehicle. A consent search revealed that both subjects were in possession of baggies of
cocaine. Both were arrested and taken into custody.
Theft of Mail
December 14 at 7:08 a.m., a theft of mail was reported at an apartment complex in the
100 block of N. Mountain. The suspect was in a white, newer-model, compact vehicle
with no plates and tinted windows. The suspect broke into the apartment mailboxes.
The suspect was described as a male white with a gray shirt, pants, and ball cap. The
suspect fled in a vehicle southbound on Mountain towards Foothill. Officers made an
area check, but were unable to locate the suspect. The investigation is continuing.
Felony Vandalism
December 14 at 4:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of
Hurstview regarding suspicious circumstances. The victim reported that her exboyfriend
came to her house and caused a disturbance. The victim has a restraining
order against her ex-boyfriend. He went to the location and intentionally rammed her
parked vehicle with his vehicle when she refused to let him inside her residence. The
suspect then fled the scene in his vehicle. The victim’s vehicle sustained moderate
damage. Officers searched the area for the suspect, but were not able to locate him. A
charge of felony vandalism will be sought against the suspect. The investigation is
continuing.
Driving Under the Influence / Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession
of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
December 15 at 12:20 a.m., a subject was reported inside a vehicle in the 500 block of
Myrtle. The vehicle engine was running and the driver appeared to be unconscious.
Officers arrived and contacted the driver, who was passed out. He had parked his
vehicle sideways in the parking stalls along Myrtle. The officers could see drug
paraphernalia in plain view in the vehicle. A further search of the vehicle revealed two
baggies of methamphetamine. The driver was arrested for DUI, possession of drug
paraphernalia and methamphetamine. His vehicle was stored.
