Highlighted Activity for August 14-20, 2017

Injury Traffic Collision
August 14 at 9:56 a.m., a traffic collision involving injuries was reported in the 100 block of W. Foothill. A vehicle moved into the double yellow center median and struck a motorcyclist who was already positioned in that area for a turning movement. Traffic had to be diverted on Foothill while emergency crews worked on the injured person. The motorcyclist sustained injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
August 14 at 11:35 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 400 block of W. Foothill regarding a disturbing male subject. The subject matched the description of a man officers had spoken with at prior disturbance calls earlier in the day. Officers arrived and located the same subject and determined he was too intoxicated to care for himself. He was arrested for public intoxication.
Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
August 14 at 1:19 p.m., officers responded to the Community Center in the 100 block of W. Palm regarding the report of a naked male adult sleeping in a bathroom stall. Officers arrived and located a male subject sleeping inside a stall and he was partially undressed. As officers assisted the subject off of the ground, a small baggie containing a controlled substance was located underneath him. He was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
Medical Assist
August 14 at 8:18 p.m., police dispatch received a call from the Community Center in the 100 block of W. Palm regarding a male subject whose leg was bleeding significantly and he was requesting help. Officers arrived on scene quickly, assessed the wound, and determined the need to apply a tourniquet to the subject's wound to prevent any further significant loss of blood. The subject had a shunt in his leg that had come out, which was causing the bleeding. The subject was taken to a hospital, where he was stabilized and later released to his family.
Attempted Theft
August 18 at 8:45 p.m., an attempted theft that occurred in the area of Shamrock and
Huntington was reported to police. The victim told police that he was walking on
Shamrock when he was approached by two male juveniles who attempted to take his
cell phone from him, but were unsuccessful and fled from the victim on foot. The
investigation is continuing.
Petty Theft – Suspect Arrested
August 15 at 10:45 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 900 block of W. Foothill when he
observed a male subject run from a business and down the street. The officer continued
to observe the subject to see if he continued to run or made any other suspicious
movement. The subject ran to a block wall and hid behind it. The officer stopped his
vehicle and contacted the subject. The investigation revealed the subject had just stolen
merchandise from the store. The subject was arrested for the theft.
Vehicle Burglaries
August 16 at 7:00 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a hotel parking lot in the 700 block
of W. Huntington regarding several window smashes on customer and employee
vehicles. Further investigation revealed five vehicles were broken into and cash,
electronics, and sports gear was taken from the vehicles. The investigation is
continuing.
Armed Robbery
August 16 at 1:43 p.m., officers responded to the report of an armed robbery at a gas
station in the 1600 block of S. Myrtle. The suspects, two male Hispanic adults in their
20’s, walked into the store and brandished a black semi-automatic handgun at the
female clerk. The suspects took money from the register, two phone chargers, beer and
cigarettes. Both suspects exited the store with the stolen items and fled on foot to an
awaiting vehicle on a nearby street. Officers conducted a search, but the suspects were
not located. The investigation is continuing.
Medical Assist
August 17 at 3:03 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Montana regarding
an unresponsive male subject. Upon arrival, the officers were told by the subject’s
roommates that he had overdosed on heroin. Officers quickly evaluated the subject and
found he was not breathing and had no pulse. Officers performed CPR until paramedics
arrived and took over. The paramedics were able to regain a pulse and the subject
began breathing. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug
Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
August 17 at 3:37 a.m., officers on patrol observed two suspicious subjects and
contacted the subjects in the 1200 block of S. Magnolia. One of the subjects, an adult
female, showed symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance. She
was also found to be in possession of several methamphetamine smoking pipes, a rock
cocaine pipe and methamphetamine. She was arrested and taken to the station for
booking and detoxification. She was later released with a citation to appear in court on
the charges.
Injury Traffic Collision
August 18 at 9:01 a.m., a traffic collision was reported at Mayflower and Duarte
involving three vehicles. Officers arrived and spoke to all parties involved and
independent witnesses. It was determined that one of the drivers ran a red light, causing
another vehicle to broadside him. That vehicle then swerved and struck another vehicle.
Two parties were taken to the hospital with a complaint of pain and one had a laceration
to his arm.
Grand Theft
August 18 at 9:36 p.m., a grand theft was reported in the 100 block of W. Lemon. The
victim was seated on the curb, waiting for her boyfriend to park his car. She had her
purse in her lap. Two Hispanic female juveniles walked by and stole her purse from her.
The loss was cash that was inside the purse. The investigation is continuing.
Large Party / Outside Assist – Suspects Arrested
August 18 at 11:54 p.m., a resident in the area called and reported a loud party causing
a disturbance in the 400 block of Monrovista and thought the party goers were
vandalizing the home, which is vacant. Officers responded and broke up the party.
While officers were dispersing the crowd, West Covina Police Department called and
advised Monrovia Police Department of a robbery that had occurred in their city. A cell
phone and other property had been taken from the victim, who was badly beaten, and
the victim's phone was tracked to the 400 block of Monrovista. West Covina officers
responded to the scene and located the phone and other items inside a vehicle. The
suspects were also located and arrested by the West Covina officers for the robbery.
Driving Under the Influence / Traffic Collision – Suspect Arrested
August 19 at 1:19 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of W. Duarte Road
regarding a traffic collision. A vehicle traveling on Duarte Road collided with several
parked cars. The investigation determined that the driver of the vehicle was intoxicated.
He was arrested and held for detoxification. He was later released on a citation to
appear in court.
Driving Under the Influence / Injury Traffic Collision
August 20 at 3:03 a.m., a vehicle traveling in the 800 block of W. Colorado lost control
and struck several parked vehicles. The driver was unable to regain control and the
vehicle rolled over after colliding with the curb. The driver was taken to a hospital with
minor injuries. It appears the driver was under the influence of marijuana. The
investigation is continuing.

Highlighted Activity for August 7-9, 2017

Grand Theft – Suspect Arrested
August 7 at 7:20 a.m., officers responded to a hotel in the 700 block of W. Huntington regarding the report of a grand theft from a vehicle. Officers arrived and spoke with the victim and a hotel staff member. The trunk of the vehicle had been left unsecured and an unknown suspect was seen removing the victim’s luggage from the trunk. The suspect took the bags into a room at the hotel. The officers went to the room and contacted a male subject inside. The bags were located, along with several other items that indicated credit cards were being made with stolen information obtained through mail. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Grand Theft Auto – Motorcycle
August 7 at 7:48 a.m., a motorcycle was reported stolen from the 1800 block of Encino Avenue. The victim parked and secured his motorcycle in the carport area at the location. When he returned to it the following morning, he discover his motorcycle was missing. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft
August 7 at 10:23 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Stedman Avenue. The victim went out to his vehicle and attempted to start it. As he started it, he heard a loud noise and then discovered that the catalytic converter had been removed from the vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft
August 7 at 6:16 p.m., a grand theft incident was reported in the 500 block of S. Alta Vista. The victim parked their Honda Accord in front of their house and sometime during the night someone stole the catalytic converter off of the car. The investigation is continuing.
Warrants / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspects Arrested
August 8 at 3:21 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the area of Mountain and Foothill when he contacted two suspicious subjects in the area. A computer check revealed one
of the subjects had a warrant for his arrest and the other was found to be in possession
of drug paraphernalia. Both subjects were arrested and taken into custody.
Sex Registration Violation – Suspect Arrested
August 8 at 4:55 a.m., an officer on patrol observed a known sex registrant in the 500
block of E. Olive that he knew was in violation of failing to register as a sex offender.
The subject was detained and arrested for the violation.
Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
August 8 at 11:01 a.m., officers responded to a hotel in the 700 block of W. Huntington
regarding a female suspect that had returned to retrieve items from a room. A grand
theft of luggage from a vehicle had occurred at the hotel the day prior. The investigation
led to the arrest of the suspect and the recovery of stolen mail and credit card fraud.
During the investigation, officers received information that there was a female suspect
that had fled the hotel before police arrived.
The female suspect and a female friend
had now returned to the hotel to retrieve items from the room. The clerk quickly called
police, but the suspect fled. Officers detained the female friend and further investigation
revealed she was in possession of methamphetamine and cocaine. She was arrested
and taken into custody. The investigation is continuing.
Commercial Burglary
August 9 at 1:09 p.m., a commercial burglary was reported at a school in the 1000 block
of S. Canyon Boulevard. The chain and lock were cut to a storage container on the lot.
When the container was opened they found emergency earthquake supplies had been
stolen.
Critical Missing Person Located
August 9 at 6:08 p.m., a male juvenile with autism was reported missing from a family
member's residence in the 500 block of E. Walnut. Officers and the Foothills Air Support
Team helicopter quickly responded to conduct an area check for the missing subject.
The juvenile was located at a nearby residence he is familiar with and was reunited with
family members.
Vehicle tampering
August 9 at 6:57 p.m., a suspicious person was reported loitering near vehicles in a
business parking lot in the 900 block of W. Huntington. The subject had left the area
and was not located. A review of surveillance footage showed the suspect attempting to
siphon gas out of four different vehicles into a large plastic water jug. The investigation
is continuing.
Counterfeiting
August 9 at 7:45 p.m., a victim of counterfeiting called police to report an incident that
occurred at a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain. The victim claimed he had
received counterfeit money when he returned merchandise to the store that he had
previously purchased. The store was notified regarding the transaction and the money
was collected for evidence. The U.S. Secret Service was notified of the crime and the
investigation is continuing.
Shoplifting
August 9 at 8:03 p.m., officers were dispatched to a shoplifting incident that just
occurred in the 400 block of W. Huntington. The suspect took merchandise from a store
without paying for the items. Officers located the suspect in the area and the store
representative placed him under citizen's arrest. He was arrested and taken into
custody.
Fight in Progress / Criminal Threats
August 9 at 9:04 p.m., a fight involving multiple subjects fighting in the middle of the
street was reported in the area of California and Royal Oaks. Officers responded and
found the majority of the people involved had dispersed. The investigation revealed a
battery had occurred; however the victim and witnesses at the scene were
uncooperative with providing any further information. There was an additional victim of
criminal threats who was cooperative with officers; however the witnesses were not.
The investigation is continuing.
Vandalism
August 9 at 10:25 p.m., a vandalism incident was reported in the 300 block of Hillcrest.
The suspects placed an object inside a mailbox, causing a small explosion that
destroyed the mailbox. Two vehicles occupied by teenage suspects were seen
speeding away, heading east on Hillcrest. The investigation is continuing.

Highlighted Activity for August 3-6, 2017

Warrant – Suspect Arrested
August 3 at 12:29 p.m., a caller reported a possible theft in the area of Duarte and Magnolia. Officers arrived and located three subjects sitting at a bus bench, one of them matched the description of the theft suspect given to police. The investigation revealed that no crime was committed; however, one of the detained subjects was found to have two no-bail warrants for his arrest. The subject was arrested, booked and later released to the Redondo Beach Police Department on the warrant.
Commercial Burglary
August 4 at 8:30 a.m., a commercial burglary was reported at a business in the 2600 block of S. Myrtle Avenue. The victim locked and left his business on July 28 at 8:00 a.m. When he returned on August 4, he noticed the locks to his storage garage door were missing and he found car parts were missing from inside.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
August 4 at 2:41 p.m., a domestic violence incident was reported in the 200 block of W. Evergreen. The victim called to report that she was battered by her boyfriend. An officer responded and contacted both subjects. The victim alleged she was punched in the face and had visible injuries. The suspect was arrested, booked and is being held pending his court appearance.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered – Suspect Arrested
August 4 at 2:44 p.m., the victim of a grand theft auto that was stolen out of Baldwin Park located his vehicle in Monrovia in the 3300 block of S. Peck Road. He called police and was waiting for assistance, when the suspect arrived and entered the vehicle using a shaved key to try and start the car. Officers arrived and the suspect was detained. He was arrested, booked and held pending his court appearance.
Vandalism
August 5 at 7:47 a.m., a vandalism incident was reported at a park in the 300 block of N. Grand Avenue. Graffiti was spray painted on the steps going down to the park. Graffiti removal was advised.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
August 5 at 11:02 a.m., police dispatch received a call reporting a subject causing a disturbance at Foothill and Alta Vista. When officers arrived, the subject was identified and found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was arrested for the warrant and taken into custody.
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
August 6 at 3:25 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 200 block of W. Huntington regarding a subject parked at the location all day and sleeping in his vehicle. When officers arrived on scene, the subject was still asleep and they could see hypodermic needles in the vehicle. They woke the subject, who consented to a vehicle search. Needles and a methamphetamine pipe were found inside the vehicle. The suspect was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Highlighted Activity for July 10-12, 2017

Petty Theft – Suspect Arrested
July 10 at 1:00 p.m., officers responded to the report of a male, adult suspect running west, away from a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain Avenue. The subject had been seen taking a pair of bolt cutters from the store without paying for them. The suspect was located by police near the Metro Station. He was arrested and issued a citation to appear in court on the charges.
Disturbing Subject / Warrants – Suspect Arrested
July 10 at 8:16 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a business in the 100 block of W. Duarte regarding a disturbing subject in the parking lot. The subject was detained and a computer check revealed she had multiple warrants for her arrest. She was arrested without incident and taken into custody.
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
July 10 at 10:06 p.m., a resident in the 600 block of E. Lime called police to report a female subject who was acting suspicious. She walked up to his residence and asked if she could have a beer with him. Officers arrived, detained the female and discovered she was in possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested and issued a citation to appear in court on the charges.
Vandalism – Suspect Arrested
July 11 at 1:04 a.m., officers responded to a motel in the 700 block of W. Huntington on the report of disturbing subjects inside one of the motel rooms. Officers arrived and contacted the subjects. One of the female subjects in the room became very upset because the motel staff called the police and she flipped a table over, causing a portion of the table to break. She was arrested for vandalism.
Petty Theft
July 11 at 9:39 a.m., a bicycle was reported stolen from the 500 block of W. Huntington. The victim secured his bike to a bike rack at work and decided to walk home after work on July 10, leaving the bike. He saw his bike in the bike rack when he left. When he returned the next day at 8:00 a.m., he discovered his bike was missing, with the
exception of his front tire, which was still locked to the rack. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft
July 11 at 12:00 p.m., a grand theft was reported to police that occurred in the 200 block of McKinley Place. The victim parked his vehicle on the street in front of his residence the evening before. He returned to his vehicle in the morning and started it. He immediately heard a loud noise and then discovered the catalytic converter had been cut off of his vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
Vandalism
July 12 at 12:05 a.m., a vandalism incident was reported at a business in the 1800 block of S. Myrtle. The cleaning crew arrived to clean the business and noticed the front window was cracked. A large rock was found next to the window. No suspects were seen. The investigation is continuing.
Commercial Burglary
July 12 at 3:59 a.m., officers responded to an alarm activation at a business in the 700 block of W. Huntington. Officers arrived and saw there was an open door. Surveillance footage revealed a male Hispanic suspect using a pry bar to open the exit doors. He entered the business, took three cashboxes from the registers and fled through the same door. He entered a black, 4-door BMW on the passenger side and the vehicle fled the area, heading east on Huntington. The cashboxes were all empty. The investigation is continuing.
Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
July 12 at 10:10 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 700 block of S. Fifth regarding a suspicious female subject loitering on private property. When the officer arrived, he detained the subject, who started reaching into a black jacket. The officer told her to take her hand out of the jacket, which she did, and placed something under the jacket. During a search, the officer recovered a small purse under the jacket, which contained a baggie of methamphetamine and a drug smoking pipe. The suspect was arrested for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Highlighted Activity for June 8-11, 2017

Warrant / Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sales – Suspect Arrested
June 8 at 8:08 p.m., officers were on patrol in the 500 block of W. Huntington and recognized a subject who was wanted for attempted murder. They detained the suspect, confirmed the warrant and arrested him. While booking the suspect, a large quantity of drugs were found on him packaged in bindles and ready for sale. The charge was added to his booking.
Robbery
June 8 at 9:03 p.m., a robbery was reported at a hotel in the 700 block of W. Huntington. The suspect entered the lobby of the hotel wearing a skeleton mask and demanding money. He then fled the location in a newer, light-colored sedan, which was parked in front of the hotel. The suspect is described as a male Black, 35 to 40 years old, about 6’3” and 250 pounds. The investigation is continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
June 9 at 5:03 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Lemon and Mountain regarding a male subject walking around with bleach and acting suspicious. Officers located the individual and a computer check revealed a warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody for the warrant.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
June 9 at 9:41 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 300 block of W. Huntington when he observed a subject that he recognized from previous contacts and he knew had an outstanding warrant. A computer check confirmed the warrant and the subject was arrested and taken into custody.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
June 9 at 5:11 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 300 block of W. Huntington regarding a vehicle that collided into the center divider and ruptured two tires. The officer arrived and, through investigation, determined the driver was intoxicated. The suspect was arrested, taken into custody and held for a sobering period.
Burglary Alarm
June 9 at 6:00 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of N. Canyon regarding a burglary alarm activation. They arrived at the location and found a door had been kicked in, but it did not appear anything was taken. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft Auto
June 9 at 9:57 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 500 block of E. Olive. The victim advertised his vehicle for sale on Craigslist. A potential buyer called him and arranged to meet for a test drive. The buyer insisted the victim bring the vehicle registration and pink slip. While on the test drive, the suspect told the victim he heard a noise and wanted to switch seats and let the victim drive. When the victim exited the vehicle, the suspect drove off. The investigation is continuing.
Warrant / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
June 9 at 11:32 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the area of Primrose and Huntington when he saw a vehicle with a subject sleeping inside. He stopped to check on the subject and subsequently ran a DMV check on the subject. The subject was found to have an outstanding warrant. He was arrested for the warrant and also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, which was added to his charges.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
June 10 at 11:29 a.m., a domestic violence incident was reported in a business parking lot in the 400 block of W. Huntington. The incident involved a 16-year-old female and 18-year-old who have been in a dating relationship for the last 19 months. The couple were in a vehicle and began to argue over the female getting the male suspect’s food order wrong. The female became upset and moved to the backseat. The argument escalated and the male suspect leaned into the backseat and punched the female in the head several times. Witnesses detained the suspect and called the police. The suspect was arrested and the victim was taken to a hospital for treatment. An Emergency Protective Order was issued and the Department of Child and Family Services was advised.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
June 10 at 12:37 p.m., witnesses reported a male and female arguing and physically fighting to the rear of a hotel in the 700 block of W. Huntington. The male suspect was hitting the female and slammed her up against a storage container. When police arrived the male suspect was gone. The female refused medical attention, but did have a noticeable bruise/bump on her forehead. The male suspect was eventually located behind a storage container to the rear of the hotel. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Vandalism / Battery – Suspect Arrested
June 10 at 2:56 p.m., an officer responded to a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain regarding a battery in progress. The male suspect went into the business to return an item his mother had purchased. The suspect began to argue with the sales associates. He became irate and started throwing paint from a display counter, causing a mess. The associates were escorting him off property, when he physically battered one of the associates. The associate took him to the ground and held him until police arrived. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
June 10 at 6:53 p.m., officers responded to a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington regarding a petty theft. The suspect was located and a pat-down search revealed a drug pipe in his possession. Store security did not want to press charges for petty theft, but the suspect was arrested for the possession of drug paraphernalia.
Residential Burglary
June 10 at 9:03 p.m., a residential burglary was reported in the 600 block of Norumbega. The victim’s home is for sale and they were notified by their realtor that a door was found open. The victim responded to the home and discovered that some paintings and tools had been stolen. The victim believes the door may have been left unlocked. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft Auto
June 11 at 1:39 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 500 block of W. Lemon. The victim parked their Maroon Honda Civic on the street in front of the residence. It was seen by a family member at 11:30 p.m. and discovered missing at 11:45 p.m. The investigation is continuing.
Receiving Stolen Property / Felon in Possession of Ammunition / Stolen Credit Cards / Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspects Arrested
June 11 at 1:57 a.m., an officer stopped a vehicle for a vehicle code violation in the area of Mountain and Huntington. The investigation revealed the driver was a felon in possession of ammunition and had stolen property. The passenger had numerous credit cards that did not belong to her and was later found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Two victims were contacted and said their vehicles had been burglarized earlier in the evening. Their wallet and purse had been taken in the incidents. Both suspects was arrested.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
June 11 at 4:30 p.m., a possible drunk driver in the 300 block of E. Hillcrest was reported to police. An officer arrived in the area and observed a vehicle come to a stop. The driver of the vehicle started yelling at the officer using vulgar language. The investigation revealed the driver was intoxicated. The driver was arrested, booked and held for a sobering period. He was later released with a citation to appear in court.
Vehicle Burglary
June 11 at 4:56 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 300 block of N. Encinitas. Unknown suspects made entry into the vehicle that was parked and believed to be locked. The investigation continues.

Neighborhood Watch Update May 15-18, 2017


Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
May 15 at 11:56 a.m., loss prevention personnel at a business in the 300 block of W. Huntington called police to report subjects shoplifting. A male and female adult had concealed merchandise while inside the store and left without paying for the items. The suspects split up outside of the store and went in different directions. Officers responded and located the female suspect. The female phoned the male suspect and told him she was being detained by officers. The male suspect returned with the stolen property and admitted to the crime. He was arrested and the female was released, as she did not have property and was not seen taking the property.
Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
May 15 at 4:03 p.m., a shoplifting incident was reported at a business in the 300 block of W. Huntington. A male adult left the store without paying for merchandise he had concealed. Officers arrived and located the suspect sitting on the front porch of a residence nearby. The homeowner appeared puzzled and said he did not know the suspect. The homeowner told officers that the suspect ran onto his porch and sat down next to him. The suspect was arrested for the crime and taken into custody.
Vehicle Burglary
May 15 at 7:10 p.m., the victim of a vehicle burglary called police to report that sometime between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. someone broke into his vehicle in the 100 block of S. Mayflower. The rear passenger side window was shattered and his backpack was taken. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft
May 15 at 7:22 p.m., a grand theft was reported in the 400 block of S. Alta Vista. The victim parked his vehicle on the street and went inside for the night. The following morning he returned to his vehicle at 6:00 a.m. and started the ignition. There was a loud sound coming from under the vehicle. Grand Theft Auto
May 16 at 9:25 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen in the 1000 block of S. Mountain Avenue. The victim parked her vehicle on the street on May 14. When she returned to her vehicle on May 16, she discovered it had been stolen. There were no signs of forced entry. The vehicle is a grey, 2000 Honda CRV. The investigation is continuing.
Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspects Arrested
May 16 at 4:29 p.m., a caller reported several subjects using drugs near a silver vehicle parked in a business parking lot in the 200 block of E. Lime Avenue. Officers responded and located the vehicle and several subjects. During the investigation, two subjects were found to be in possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. They were arrested and taken into custody.
Fight in Progress / Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Suspect Arrested
May 16 at 6:50 p.m., officers responded to a business parking lot in the 400 block of S. Myrtle regarding a large fight in progress. When officers arrived, the fighting had stopped. The fight was over a parking situation involving employees and patrons from another business location. During the altercation, the victim fell to the ground and was kicked in the head multiple times by the suspect. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody for the assault.
Grand Theft / Warrant – Suspects Arrested
May 17 at 11:21 a.m., police received a call reporting a suspicious vehicle in a business parking lot in the 500 block of W. Huntington. The vehicle’s engine was running and a male adult was behind the wheel with the trunk was open. The rear license plate was missing and the front plate had been covered. Officers responded and contacted the driver.
As the officer was speaking with the driver, a second male adult ran out of the business carrying two large mesh bags filled with stolen merchandise. The suspect saw the officer and dropped the bags. The officer detained both subjects. Both subjects were arrested for grand theft. At that time, a third subject exited the store followed by a store employee, who informed officers that he might have been involved in the theft. The third subject was detained and it was discovered that he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. It was determined that he was not involved with the other suspects, but he was arrested for the warrant.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
May 17 at 6:11 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 900 block of W. Olive regarding a family disturbance. Officers discovered there had been an ongoing argument at the location for the majority of the day. The male suspect had made threats to his girlfriend, telling her that he would kill her. He had punched, slapped, and strangled the victim. The victim sustained minor injuries. The suspect was arrested without incident and taken into custody.
Traffic Collision / Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
May 17 at 8:59 p.m., a traffic collision was reported in the 1200 block of S. Magnolia. A vehicle collided with a parked vehicle. The investigation revealed the driver of the
vehicle had been drinking and was too intoxicated to operate a vehicle safely. She was arrested for driving under the influence and held for a sobering period.

Petty Theft From a Vehicle
May 5 at 8:30 a.m., two vehicles on a property in the 400 block of Scenic were left unlocked overnight. Someone went through the vehicles during the night and stole several items. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary
May 5 at 12:19 p.m., a petty theft from a vehicle was reported at a business parking lot in the 200 block of E. Huntington. The victim parked their vehicle in the parking lot and returned to find their windows had been shattered and miscellaneous items were stolen. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary / Grand Theft
May 4 at 1:00 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a business in the 700 block of W. Huntington regarding a grand theft. The victim parked their vehicle in the parking lot and went into the business. When they returned to their vehicle, they saw a window had been smashed and their camera equipment that was in the vehicle had been stolen. The investigation is continuing.
Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
May 4 at 3:55 p.m., loss prevention personnel at a business in the 300 block of W. Huntington phoned police to report they had detained a male suspect for petty theft. The suspect had left the store with merchandise without paying. The suspect was arrested and received a citation to appear in court on the charges.
Residential Burglary
May 4 at 8:51 p.m., officers responded to a residential burglary in the 400 block of N. Primrose. The victims arrived home and went inside to find their house had been ransacked and the suspects were still inside the location. As the victims entered, the suspects fled out of the house and through a neighbor's yard. The victims ran outside and saw the suspects getting into a waiting vehicle. The vehicle is described as a silver Subaru hatchback with paper plates that said "Sierra." The three suspects were all male and were wearing hooded sweatshirts. The loss is still being determined and the investigation is continuing.
Trespassing / Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
May 4 at 10:01 p.m., residents in the 200 block of Montana called police stating they were detaining a subject who was trespassing and refusing to leave. Officers arrived and learned the father was restraining his son. The officer told the father to let go and the officer detained the subject. The officer searched the subject and located a large quantity of methamphetamine and powder cocaine. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Armed Robbery
May 4 at 11:10 p.m., police dispatch received a robbery alarm activation from the 7- Eleven in the 900 block of W. Duarte Road. Officers arrived and made contact with the employee who pushed the robbery button. He said he had been robbed at gunpoint. The victim described the suspects as male Blacks wearing dark colored hooded sweatshirts. One suspect had a black handgun.
The suspects entered the business and asked for a package of cigars. When the employee turned around, he saw one of the suspects had a gun pointed at him. The other suspect told the employee he wanted the money from the register. The employee opened the one register and set the till on the counter. The suspects told him to open the other register. The employee told the suspects he did not have the pin number to open it. They became impatient and left the store on foot with the till from the one register. An area check was completed, but the suspects were not located and the investigation is continuing.
There were multiple armed robberies with similar suspect information at other 7-Elevens in the San Gabriel Valley that same night, as well as on Tuesday, May 2, 2017.
Vehicle Burglaries
May 5 at 4:13 a.m., two vehicles were reported burglarized at a residence in the 1000 block of Norumbega Drive. The victim heard his vehicle alarm sounding, so he came outside to investigate and saw his trunk open and his driver-side window shattered. Two pairs of tennis shoes were taken from the trunk. A second vehicle that belongs to the victim’s girlfriend was also burglarized and the window shattered. A keychain with several keys and an access key card was taken from the vehicle.
At 6:01 a.m., a resident in the 700 block of Norumbega Drive reported two vehicles had been broken into and items were taken. Both vehicles had their windows shattered. The investigation revealed the suspects were casing the area in a dark-colored Ford Explorer and the crime occurred between 4:00 to 4:09 a.m. The investigations are continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
May 5 at 12:21 p.m., an officer was returning from court and saw a subject he knew had warrants out for his arrest. The subject was riding his bicycle in the area of Myrtle and Cypress. A computer check revealed the subject had four warrants for resisting arrest and driving under the influence on a bike. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody without incident.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
May 5 at 9:49 p.m., dispatch received multiple calls reporting a subject lying down on the railroad tracks at Duarte and Mayflower. Metro also called and said they had stopped the train due to the subject on the tracks. Officers responded and located the subject, but he was no longer on the tracks. The subject was extremely intoxicated and was unable to care for his own safety. He was arrested for being drunk in public and held for a sobering period.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
May 6 at 3:04 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the area of Central and Myrtle when he saw a vehicle commit a traffic code violation. He stopped the vehicle and when speaking to the driver, he could smell the odor of alcohol. Through investigation, the driver was determined to be under the influence and was arrested and taken into custody.
Grand Theft
May 6 at 6:58 a.m., a grand theft from a vehicle was reported in the 400 block of W. Scenic. The victim called to report his specialized tools had been stolen from his unsecured vehicle. He had left his vehicle parked on Heather Heights for several days and when he returned to his vehicle, the tools were gone. The investigation is continuing.
Domestic Battery – Suspect Arrested
May 6 at 1:34 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Walnut on a welfare check. The female subject was concerned about the well-being of her boyfriend, who had left the location. During the investigation, it was discovered that the female subject was a victim of domestic battery. Officers located the suspect in Bradbury and placed him under arrest without incident.
Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
May 6 at 2:34 p.m., loss prevention from a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington called police to report a suspect had stolen merchandise and was running from the location. Officers responded and located the suspect attempting to hide nearby. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Critical Missing – Subject Located
May 6 at 9:45 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of E. Walnut regarding a developmentally disabled, 17-year-old male who was visiting and had wandered away from the location. Officers immediately began an area check and surrounding agencies were contacted, as well as the Foothill Air Support Team helicopter. The subject was located by Monrovia’s Special Enforcement Team officers in Arcadia after approximately 30 minutes and was returned to his family.
Vandalism / Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
May 6 at 11:39 p.m., a subject causing a disturbance at a business in the 1500 block of S. Myrtle was reported to police. Officers arrived and detained a subject who was under the influence and had confronted two customers, vandalizing one of their vehicles. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
May 7 at 2:18 p.m., a shoplifting incident was reported at a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain. A male suspect entered the business, selected merchandise and left the store without paying for the items. The suspect dropped the items as he ran out of the store. Officers located the suspect in the area and learned he also had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody for shoplifting and the warrants.
Public Intoxication

May 7 at 10:35 p.m., officers responded to the 1800 block of Eighth Avenue regarding a man down. They arrived and found a male subject lying on the driveway of a home that did not belong to him. Officers determined he was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. He was arrested for being drunk in public and held for a sobering period.

May 1 at 8:17 a.m., a resident in the 700 block of Mountain View called police to report that sometime during the night, someone entered their unlocked vehicle that was parked on the street and took a credit card. The investigation continuing.

May 1 at 9:07 a.m., a resident in the 200 block of N. Shamrock Avenue called police to report that sometime during the night, someone entered both of her vehicles that were parked on the street and took miscellaneous items. The investigation is continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
May 1 at 12:12 p.m., a subject came into the police department lobby regarding a possible mental health issue. The investigation revealed the subject was not in any mental health distress; however, he did have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The subject was arrested and is being held pending his court appearance.
Bear Incident
May 1 at 5:06 p.m., a resident in the 800 block of Norumbega called police to report a bear inside her home. The bear broke through a window to gain access. The Department of Fish and Wildlife was notified. They responded and relocated the bear.
Possession of a Controlled Substance / Warrants – Suspects Arrested
May 1 at 7:18 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 200 block of Norumbega for vehicle code violations. During the investigation, the driver was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and was arrested. The passenger was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

May 2 at 8:07 a.m., a resident in the 100 block of May Avenue called police to report that sometime during the night, someone entered his unlocked vehicle that was parked on the street and stole miscellaneous coins. The investigation is continuing.

May 3 at 12:09 a.m., officers responded to the 700 block of Valley View regarding a male adult subject causing a disturbance. They arrived and found the subject was too intoxicated to care for himself and his own safety. He was arrested for being drunk in public and held for a sobering period.

May 3 at 1:07 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 600 block of W. Huntington when he conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a vehicle code violation. A computer check of the subject revealed a warrant. The subject was arrested for the warrant and was found to also be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

May 3 at 3:45 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of E. Olive regarding a male adult subject causing a disturbance. Officers arrived and detained the subject. A computer check revealed he had four warrants for his arrest. The subject was arrested and taken into custody.
Court Order Violation
May 3 at 1:54 p.m., a resident in the 900 block of S. Mayflower called police to report her son, whom she has a restraining order against, was at the location refusing to leave. Officers arrived and located the subject in the mother’s vehicle. He was arrested for violation of the restraining order. He was later released with a citation to appear in court on the charges.
Theft From a Vehicle
May 3 at 4:03 p.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 1000 block of E. Huntington Drive. The victim reported that while he was away, someone entered his unlocked vehicle that was parked on the street. The loss could not be determined. The investigation is continuing.
Injury Traffic Collision
May 3 at 7:17 p.m., an officer responded to a traffic collision at Mountain and Central. A vehicle traveling west on Central ran the red traffic signal at Mountain and collided into a vehicle traveling south on Mountain. One subject complained of pain and was taken to a nearby hospital.
Carrying an Air Gun within a City Park / Being in a Park After Hours – Suspect Arrested
May 4 at 12:03 a.m., officers were on patrol in the 300 block of S. Myrtle and saw a subject sitting near the entrance to the library after the park was closed. Due to it being after park hours, the officers contacted the subject. During a pat-down search, officers recovered a BB gun in the subject's pocket. The subject was arrested for the violations. The subject was later released with a citation to appear in court.
Vehicle Burglary
May 4 at 4:34 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 600 block of Vaquero Road. The victim’s vehicle was parked in the driveway. The victim looked outside from the
second story window and saw the suspect inside her vehicle. She yelled out the window and the suspect fled. The suspect entered the vehicle by prying the passenger side of the vehicle open. The loss is unknown at this time. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft
May 4 at 4:59 p.m., a grand theft was reported in the 600 block of S. Magnolia. The victim heard power tools outside of his residence and saw two subjects in hooded sweatshirts near his vehicle. One of the subjects yelled to the other and they fled in a silver Honda Element, heading north on Magnolia and out of sight. The victim checked his vehicle and discovered his catalytic converter was taken from his Honda Element. The investigation is continuing.

Highlighted Activity for April 6-9, 2017


Vehicle Burglary
April 6 at 9:17 a.m., two subjects parked their vehicles in the 600 block of N. Canyon Avenue, near the opening of the nature trail. The subjects went for a hike and when they returned, they found the windows to their vehicles had been shattered and both cars were ransacked. There was nothing missing from one of the vehicles, but a purse was taken from the second vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered
April 6 at 9:21 a.m., officers located an unoccupied stolen vehicle in a parking lot in the 700 block of W. Huntington Drive. The vehicle was reported stolen recently to the Pasadena Police Department. The vehicle was recovered and stored for fingerprinting.
Residential Burglary / Pursuit / Felony Hit & Run / Carjacking Vehicle Recovered – Suspects Arrested
April 6 at 3:58 p.m., dispatch received a call from a resident in the 600 block of Norumbega, reporting that several male subjects had forced entry into a neighboring home. The caller advised that the subjects fled the location at a high rate of speed in a gray Mercedes Benz when the home’s alarm activated.
Responding officers located the suspect vehicle at Mountain and Foothill and a pursuit was initiated. The suspect vehicle collided into several other vehicles in the 200 block of East Foothill. Three suspects ran from the vehicle and one was detained inside. The three suspects that ran were located within minutes and all four suspects were arrested.
A driver of one of the vehicles involved in the traffic collision with the suspects complained of pain and will seek medical treatment. The suspect vehicle was found to have been stolen in a carjacking incident that occurred on March 28 in the city of Los Angeles. There were several items that appear to be stolen property found inside the vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft Auto
April 7 at 7:52 a.m., officers responded to the report of a stolen vehicle in the 1400 block of Alamitas Avenue. The victim parked her vehicle on the street in front of her residence. When she returned to her vehicle, it was missing. There were no signs of forced entry. The investigation is continuing.
Shots Fired
April 7 at 5:07 p.m., police received several calls reporting shots fired in the 100 to 200 blocks of Los Angeles. Officers arrived on scene, obtained statements and canvassed the area. An older, white Camaro reportedly fled west and a dark-colored SUV fled east from the area right after the shooting. They were allegedly chasing a grey, 1990's Honda, which drove through the area with firing from their vehicle. Initial reports are the occupants of the suspect vehicle were male Black subjects. Officers searched the area, but the suspects were not located. The investigation is continuing.

April 7 at 10:47 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported at a business parking lot in the 700 block of E. Huntington. The victim parked her vehicle in the lot and went into a business. When she returned, she found a window was smashed on her vehicle and her purse and wallet had been stolen. The investigation is continuing.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
April 8 at 12:57 a.m., a male and female who are boyfriend and girlfriend went out drinking and began arguing. The argument continued when they arrived home and the male subject threw a purse at his girlfriend, which caused an injury to her chin. He was arrested for domestic violence.
Public Intoxication – Suspects Arrested
April 8 at 2:06 a.m., officers received two calls reporting subjects causing a disturbance in a rear alley in the 100 block of S. Canyon. On arrival, two subjects were found yelling and arguing. Both were extremely intoxicated and were arrested for being drunk in public. One of the subjects also had an outstanding warrant.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered
April 8 at 9:00 a.m., a suspicious vehicle was reported in the 600 block of Montana Street. Officers located the vehicle and discovered it was reported stolen to the Los Angeles Police Department on April 7. The vehicle is a 1995 Honda Accord. There were no signs of forced entry. The vehicle was removed from the system and stored until the owner can be notified.
Warrants / Possession of Methamphetamine / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
April 8 at 3:02 p.m., officers saw a subject walk out of a business who looked suspicious. The officer remained in the area and was flagged down a minute later by loss prevention from the business, who reported that the suspicious subject had filled a basket with store merchandise and began to leave the store without paying, but at the last minute discarded the basket and left the store. He was unsure if the subject had actually taken anything. The officer contacted the subject and began speaking with him. During the course of the contact, it was discovered that the subject had multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest and was in possession of methamphetamine and a drug pipe. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
April 8 at 9:08 p.m., an officer ran the license plates on a vehicle and they returned to a different type of vehicle. The officers conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver. The driver was found to have an outstanding warrant. The driver was arrested for the warrant, the vehicle was stored, and the plates were recovered from vehicle.
Stolen Vehicle
April 9 at 8:07 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the area of Duarte and Tenth. The victim left his vehicle parked on the street overnight. He woke in the morning and discovered his vehicle was missing. During the investigation, the officer learned the victim left his loaded firearm under the seat. He said he recently went to the firing range and forgot to take it out of the vehicle. The vehicle was entered into the stolen vehicle system and the firearm was also entered as stolen. The investigation is continuing.
Robbery
April 9 at 10:00 p.m., a robbery victim reported that he was approached by a male Black subject at a bus bench in the 300 block of W. Huntington. The suspect inquired about the victim’s wireless earbuds. The suspect asked if he could see them and the victim complied. After several minutes, the victim asked for the item back, but the suspect told him no. The victim reached for the earbuds and the suspect struck him in the face with a closed fist. The suspect then fled on foot with the property. The victim left the immediate area and contacted police. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary
April 9 at 10:31 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 800 block of E. Olive. The victim left his keys and wallet on the center console of his vehicle and locked the doors to his vehicle and left. When he returned to his vehicle, the driver-side window had been shattered and the items were gone. The investigation is continuing.

Grand Theft
March 6 at 8:55 a.m., a grand theft incident was reported in the 1400 block of S. Magnolia. The victim reported that someone stole her catalytic converter from her parked vehicle during the early morning hours. The investigation is continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
March 6 at 12:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of E. Cherry Avenue regarding a disturbing family member who was refusing to leave. A computer check revealed an outstanding warrant for the subject. He was arrested and later released on a citation to appear in court on the charges.
Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
March 6 at 1:55 p.m., a citizen called police to report a vehicle driving erratically in the area of Mayflower and Huntington. An officer responded to the area and stopped the driver for vehicle code violations. The investigation revealed the driver also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was arrested for the warrant and during a search, narcotics were located. The suspect was arrested and later released with a citation to appear in court.
Commercial Burglary
March 7 at 12:44 a.m., officers responded to a business in the 600 block of W. Huntington regarding a burglary alarm activation. Upon arrival, they discovered a broken front window to the business. Officers searched the business, but did not locate any suspects. A responsible person arrived and it appears that there was no loss from the business. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft
March 7 in the early morning hours, two grand thefts of catalytic converters were reported to police. Both thefts occurred sometime overnight. The thefts occurred in the 200 block of W. Cherry Avenue and the 1200 block of S. Primrose Avenue. The investigations are continuing.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
March 7 at 3:18 p.m., dispatch received a call reporting a subject riding in and out of traffic in the middle of the street on a bicycle. Officers arrived and located the subject still riding in and out of traffic. The subject was determined to be intoxicated and he was arrested. He was held for a sobering period and later released with a citation to appear in court.
Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
March 7 at 4:47 p.m., loss prevention at a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington Drive called police to report several subjects inside the location concealing merchandise. Officers arrived and confronted the suspects. One of the suspects was uncooperative and struggled with officers. He was eventually taken into custody. All three were arrested and later released with a citation to appear in court.
Suspicious Vehicle / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
March 8 at 2:13 a.m., officers responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the area of Mountain and Lemon. Officers arrived and contacted two subjects. A computer check on one of them revealed a warrant for her arrest. She was arrested and taken into custody for the warrant.

Highlighted Activity for March 2-5, 2017

Battery / Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Warrants – Suspects Arrested
March 2 at 5:29 p.m., dispatch received several calls reporting two male adults fighting in the 100 block of Norumbega Drive. Officers arrived and located one male adult, and while speaking with him, discovered he was on probation. During a pat-down search, he was found to have drug paraphernalia in his possession. Another officer located the second male suspect nearby, who was found to have several warrants. While speaking with the second suspect, a female approached. She was found to have several warrants and had methamphetamine in her possession. All three suspects were arrested.
Theft From a Vehicle
March 2 at 7:25 p.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 900 block of Crescent. The vehicle was parked in the victim’s driveway with the doors unlocked. The suspect entered the vehicle and took a backpack containing miscellaneous school supplies and a bag containing clothing that was going to be donated. The investigation is continuing.
Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
March 3 at 3:30 p.m., officers responded to the report of a male adult slumped over the wheel of a parked vehicle in the 200 block of Linwood Avenue. Officers located the vehicle and an adult male inside, who was unresponsive. The officers made entry into the vehicle and saw a loaded syringe sticking out of the inner thigh of the driver. Officers were able to revive the subject, who admitted to being addicted to heroin. The suspect was arrested and the vehicle was stored.
Defrauding an Innkeeper
March 3 at 10:14 p.m., a male subject ordered a dinner meal at a restaurant in the 800 block of W. Huntington and then left the location without paying. The investigation is continuing.

E. Huntington and was unhappy with the order. He was given a discount on his bill, but

Arrested
March 4 at 12:54 a.m., officers responded to the 400 block of W. Huntington regarding
the report of a suspicious subject in the area. They arrived and contacted the subject. A
computer check revealed he had an outstanding warrant and he was arrested. While

Weapons Offense
March 4 at 11:13 a.m., a security guard from a business in the 100 block of W. Foothill
flagged down an officer who was driving by on Myrtle. He informed the officer that a
subject in a silver charger had just sped through the parking lot and almost hit him. The
officer turned into the parking area to look for the vehicle and was stopped by a patron,
who reported that the same subject in the silver charger had tossed a handgun out of
the vehicle window as it sped through the parking lot. The officer recovered the weapon,
which was not registered, and an extensive search was conducted for the vehicle, but it
was not located. Neighboring agencies were contacted to see if they had any reports of
a recent shooting. The investigation is continuing.
Battery / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspects Arrested
March 4 at 3:04 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Norumbega
on the report of a family disturbance. Officers arrived and separated three adults and
spoke with them. They were all disruptive and combative with each other. One subject
was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and a second was arrested for
battery.
Counterfeit Currency / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
March 4 at 4:13 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of W. Huntington on the
report of subjects bathing outside. The officers arrived and located several subjects
possibly involved in the reported activity. While speaking with the subjects, the officers
located counterfeit U.S. currency belonging to one of the subjects. He was arrested and
taken into custody. He was also found to have an outstanding warrant.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
March 4 at 10:07 p.m., an intoxicated female in a vehicle was reported at a business
parking lot in the 1600 block of S. Mountain. Officers arrived and located the subject.
After investigation, the female driver was arrested for driving under the influence and
was taken into custody.
Vehicle Burglary
March 5 at 12:24 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported at a business parking lot in the
900 block of W. Huntington. The victim parked her vehicle in the parking lot and when
she returned, she found the driver side window had been shattered and her purse,
which she left in the vehicle, was gone. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary
March 5 at 6:15 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 1600 block of Royal Oaks.
The resident parked and locked her vehicle in front of her home. She looked out the
window and noticed a subject standing by her vehicle and pulling a toolbox from the
back seat. The suspect fled in a vehicle. The victim went out to her vehicle and found
the rear window had been smashed, allowing the suspect to gain access. The
investigation is continuing.
Vandalism
March 5 at 12:19 p.m., a resident in the 100 block of N. Myrtle called police to report a
vandalism incident. Sometime during the early morning hours, an unknown suspect
shattered the front passenger side window of his parked vehicle. No property appeared
to have been taken. The investigation is continuing.

March 5 at 12:55 p.m., a resident in the 700 block of W. Foothill parked his vehicle in
front of his apartment complex and went in for the night. When he returned in the
morning, he found one of his tires had been slashed with a sharp object. The
investigation is continuing.
Driving Under the Influence / Traffic Collision – Suspect Arrested
March 5 at 7:57 p.m., a traffic collision was reported at Myrtle and Duarte Road. The
two vehicles involved were traveling north on Myrtle, approaching Duarte, when the lead
vehicle slowed down for the red light and was rear ended by the second vehicle. The
drivers pulled into a parking lot to exchange information. Officers arrived and contacted
the drivers. The driver who rear ended the other vehicle was determined to be driving
under the influence and was arrested and held for a sobering period.
Public Intoxication
March 5 at 9:21 p.m., a caller reported a male subject at Myrtle and Central trying to get
into vehicles in the area. Officers arrived and located the subject. He was determined to
be extremely intoxicated and unable to care for his own safety. He was arrested for
public intoxication.
Vandalism
March 5 at 9:24 p.m., a vandalism incident was reported at a residence in the 400 block
of Almond. A white, late 1990's Jeep Cherokee was seen pulling up to the home and
two teenage male suspects exited. They walked up to the victim's truck and broke a
window, then walked up the driveway and broke a window on the victim's Toyota
Camry. They fled in their vehicle. The suspects never tried to get into the vehicles to
take anything. The investigation is continuing.

Highlighted Activity for February 16-19, 2017


Stolen Vehicle Recovered
February 16 at 10:56 a.m., officers responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle parked in a business parking lot in the 1600 block of S. Mountain Avenue. Officers located the vehicle and determined it was stolen. The vehicle was processed and returned to the owner. No suspects were located.
Residential Burglary
February 16 at 8:59 p.m., a residential burglary was reported in the 200 block of N. Encinitas. An unknown suspect entered the residence through an unlocked back door and took a backpack belonging to a juvenile. The suspect then fled. The investigation is continuing.
Battery
February 17 at 11:03 a.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1400 block of S. Magnolia to investigate a physical altercation between a mother and her adult daughter, which has been an ongoing problem. The mother has signed a no trespass order against her daughter, who has returned to the residence on multiple occasions for a variety of reasons,a` and has been arrested for violation of the order. The mother allowed the daughter to stay at the home overnight, but then asked her to leave because DCFS was coming to the house and the daughter was not supposed to be there. The two began to argue and the argument turned physical. A report will be filed with the District Attorney’s office for battery charges.
Possession of Methamphetamine / Warrants – Suspect Arrested
February 17 at 2:27 p.m., a suspicious vehicle was reported in the 200 block of N. Ivy Avenue. An officer arrived and located the vehicle and a person in the driver's seat who appeared to be hiding from the officer. During the course of the investigation, the officer discovered the driver had several warrants, no license, and methamphetamine on his person. The suspect was arrested.
Residential Burglary
February 17 at 11:09 p.m., a residential burglary was reported in the 300 block of Bradbury. The victim left his residence for several hours. When he returned, he found
the back sliding door shattered and his home had been ransacked. The resident is determining the loss. The investigation is continuing.
Stolen Vehicle
February 18 at 8:15 a.m., the victim parked their vehicle in their apartment complex parking lot in the 900 block of W. Walnut in the evening. They returned to the lot in the morning and the vehicle had been stolen. The keys were in the vehicle. The vehicle is a 2015 Lexus IS 250. The investigation is continuing.
Domestic Violence
February 18 at 12:54 p.m., a victim of domestic violence went to her friend’s home and told the friend that her boyfriend had beaten her. The incident occurred in the 200 block of W. Colorado and the victim had visible injuries; she was taken to a hospital for medical treatment. Officers went to the boyfriend's residence and interviewed him. He was then arrested for domestic violence.
Vehicle Burglary
February 18 at 3:44 p.m., employees at a business in the 1100 block of E. Huntington witnessed a male Hispanic suspect with a tattoo on his neck enter a locked vehicle in the business parking lot. The suspect fled in a gold, 4-door sedan, possibly a Honda or Toyota. The investigation is continuing.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered
February 18 at 3:50 p.m., two suspicious vehicles were reported in the 700 block of E. Royal Oaks, possibly involved in drug activity. Officers arrived and located the two vehicles. One vehicle was found to be a reported stolen vehicle from Upland. The vehicle was recovered and the investigation is continuing.

February 18 at 5:11 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 1200 block of Sherman. The victim reported his green, 2000 Honda Civic had been stolen sometime between 12:00 and 5:10 p.m. The investigation is continuing.
Commercial Robbery
February 18 at 6:25 p.m., officers responded to a robbery at a business in the 100 block of W. Huntington. A male suspect entered the location wearing a grey and green hooded sweatshirt and revealed a black handgun in his waistband. He demanded money from the cash register, which the employee gave to him, placing it in a Walmart bag. The suspect then fled the location. The investigation is continuing.
Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
February 18 at 8:11 p.m., a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington reported a theft that had just occurred. The suspect concealed items on his person and exited the store. An officer responded and detained the suspect nearby. The stolen property was recovered and the suspect was arrested.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered
February 18 at 10:51 p.m., a vehicle that was reported stolen earlier in the day from the 900 block of W. Walnut was recovered in Upland by the Upland Police Department. A
Monrovia officer responded to Upland to process the vehicle for fingerprints. The investigation is continuing.
Domestic Battery
February 19 at 7:46 a.m., a battery incident was reported in the 500 block of Cloverleaf Drive. The investigation revealed that a boyfriend and girlfriend were in a verbal argument that turned physical. The female struck her live-in boyfriend with a broom. The male complained of pain to his hand. The female was arrested for domestic battery.
Felony Hit & Run Traffic Collision
February 19 at 3:51 p.m., the victim driver was traveling west on Huntington and came to a stop at Mayflower. The suspect rear-ended the victim's vehicle and then fled the area. The victim and a passenger complained of neck pain. The investigation is continuing.

Theft of Mail – Suspect Arrested
December 12 at 7:25 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of W. Evergreen regarding a male suspect seen taking mail from mailboxes. The officers arrived and detained the suspect. The suspect was in possession of numerous pieces of mail from Evergreen and Magnolia. A computer check revealed the suspect also had outstanding warrants for his arrest. The suspect was arrested for the theft of mail and the warrants. The theft of mail investigation was turned over to postal investigators.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
December 12 at 6:53 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of S. Magnolia regarding three subjects that were possibly intoxicated. Officers arrived and detained one of the subjects that was too intoxicated to care for himself. He was arrested and held for a sobering period.
Petty Theft
December 12 at 7:22 p.m., the victim of a petty theft came into the police station lobby to report his leaf blower had been stolen at around 9:00 a.m. that morning. The victim is a gardener. He was working when he saw a male adult take a leaf blower off his truck and drive away in a newer-model, blue Lexus. The investigation is continuing.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
December 12 at 10:57 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 700 block of W. Huntington regarding the report of a male adult that appeared intoxicated. The officers located the subject and determined he was too intoxicated to care for himself. He was arrested and held for a sobering period.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
December 13 at 12:34 a.m., an officer on patrol stopped a male and female adult for traffic violations on their bikes. A computer check revealed the male had a warrant for his arrest. He was arrested for the warrant.
Residential Burglary
December 13 at 7:01 p.m., a burglary was reported at a residence in the 300 block of E.
Palm. The suspect partially pried a screen off a window, but was not successful in
entering through the window. The resident discovered jewelry missing. It is unknown
how the suspect entered the residence. The investigation is continuing.

December 13 at 9:12 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of N.
Encinitas on the report of a burglary. The window in the back door to the home had
been smashed and entry was made. There were several miscellaneous items and
jewelry taken. The investigation is continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
December 14 at 3:52 a.m., an officer on patrol stopped a subject on a bike for a vehicle
code violation in the 800 block of S. Magnolia. A computer check revealed he had two
warrants for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody on the warrants.
Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspects Arrested
December 14 at 4:04 a.m., officers stopped to check out a suspicious vehicle in the 600
block of S. Alta Vista with its dome light on. Two subjects were located inside the
vehicle. A consent search revealed that both subjects were in possession of baggies of
cocaine. Both were arrested and taken into custody.
Theft of Mail
December 14 at 7:08 a.m., a theft of mail was reported at an apartment complex in the
100 block of N. Mountain. The suspect was in a white, newer-model, compact vehicle
with no plates and tinted windows. The suspect broke into the apartment mailboxes.
The suspect was described as a male white with a gray shirt, pants, and ball cap. The
suspect fled in a vehicle southbound on Mountain towards Foothill. Officers made an
area check, but were unable to locate the suspect. The investigation is continuing.
Felony Vandalism
December 14 at 4:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of
Hurstview regarding suspicious circumstances. The victim reported that her exboyfriend
came to her house and caused a disturbance. The victim has a restraining
order against her ex-boyfriend. He went to the location and intentionally rammed her
parked vehicle with his vehicle when she refused to let him inside her residence. The
suspect then fled the scene in his vehicle. The victim’s vehicle sustained moderate
damage. Officers searched the area for the suspect, but were not able to locate him. A
charge of felony vandalism will be sought against the suspect. The investigation is
continuing.
Driving Under the Influence / Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession
of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
December 15 at 12:20 a.m., a subject was reported inside a vehicle in the 500 block of
Myrtle. The vehicle engine was running and the driver appeared to be unconscious.
Officers arrived and contacted the driver, who was passed out. He had parked his
vehicle sideways in the parking stalls along Myrtle. The officers could see drug
paraphernalia in plain view in the vehicle. A further search of the vehicle revealed two
baggies of methamphetamine. The driver was arrested for DUI, possession of drug
paraphernalia and methamphetamine. His vehicle was stored.

Highlighted Activity for November 28-30, 2016


Felon With a Firearm / Resisting and Delaying a Peace Officer
November 28 at 9:01 a.m., officers were on patrol in the area of Myrtle and Pomona when they stopped a vehicle for a vehicle code violation that was occupied by a male and female subject. As the vehicle came to a stop, the male subject ran from the vehicle. One of the officers chased after the suspect on foot. The suspect was carrying a black bag, which he discarded as he was running. He ran south and jumped a wall into an industrial yard.
Containment of the area was set up with assistance from neighboring agencies and the Foothill Air Support Team helicopter, but the suspect was not found. The bag discarded by the suspect was found to contain a loaded gun. Officers will seek a warrant for the suspect's arrest and the investigation is continuing.
Theft From a Vehicle
November 28 at 9:16 a.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 800 block of Oakdale. The victim called police to report that cash and gift cards were stolen from the center console sometime during the night. The vehicle had been left unlocked in the driveway. The investigation is continuing.
Residential Burglary
November 28 at 6:57 p.m., officers responded to a burglary alarm call at a residence in the 300 block of Terrace View. The resident advised that the security system showed there was motion inside the house. Officers arrived and contained the location. The Foothill Air Support Team helicopter and a canine unit from a neighboring agency arrived to assist. The home was searched, but no suspects were found inside. A break-in was confirmed. The investigation is continuing.
Petty Theft
November 28 at 6:58 p.m., the manager of a business in the 400 block of W. Huntington called police to report a petty theft that had just occurred. A male adult came into the store and selected miscellaneous merchandise. The suspect attempted to pay with a credit card, which was declined. He then exited the store with the merchandise without paying. He entered a black vehicle and fled the area.
Vehicle Tampering
November 29 at 1:45 a.m., the victim of a vehicle tampering called police to report that
someone had entered his unlocked vehicle and went through his glove compartment.
The incident occurred in the 100 block of E. Scenic. It appears that nothing was stolen.
Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance / Possession of a Controlled
Substance / Warrant – Suspects Arrested
November 29 at 2:06 a.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 200 block of W.
Huntington regarding several disturbing subjects that would not leave the location. After
investigation, one female adult was arrested for being under the influence of a
controlled substance and a male adult for possession of methamphetamine and a nobail
warrant.
Grand Theft From a Vehicle
November 29 at 8:23 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of N. Ivy
regarding a vehicle burglary that had just occurred. The suspects took gardening tools
from the gardener's truck and fled south towards Foothill in a vehicle. Officers
responded to the area, but were not able to locate the suspect vehicle. The investigation
is continuing.
Grand Theft Auto
November 29 at 9:19 p.m., a grand theft auto was reported in the 200 block of W.
Colorado. The victim reported his red, 2004 Volkswagon Touareg had been stolen from
the street near his residence. The investigation is continuing.
Petty Theft / Resisting and Delaying a Peace Officer / Possession of a Controlled
Substance – Suspect Arrested
November 30 at 5:37 a.m., a resident in the 200 block of N. Myrtle called police to report
a male adult taking items from his neighbor’s car. When the suspect saw the neighbor,
he fled on foot. An officer arrived, and after a short foot pursuit, he detained the suspect.
The suspect was arrested for petty theft and delaying and resisting arrest. The suspect
was also found to be in possession of a baggie of methamphetamine, which was added
to his charges.
Contributing Delinquency / Curfew Violation – Suspects Arrested
December 1 at 12:11 a.m., a burglary alarm was activated at a business in the 700
block of E. Huntington. Officers arrived and detained two suspects, a male adult and
male juvenile. The adult was arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and
the juvenile was arrested for curfew.
Hot Prowl Residential Burglary
December 1 at 12:23 a.m., police responded to a hot prowl burglary in progress in the
500 block of Hacienda. A male and female resident were awoken by two male subjects
with flashlights that had broken into their house. When the male victim yelled at the
suspects, they exited a window and fled in an unknown direction. An area search was
conducted, but the suspects were not located. It appears the suspects thought no one
was home, since there were no cars in the driveway. There was no loss reported at the
time of the incident. The investigation is continuing.
Commercial Burglary
December 1 at 3:53 a.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 200 block of W.
Foothill regarding a burglary alarm activation. When they arrived, there was glass
breakage on the west side doors, but no one was found inside. It appears the suspects
attempted to pry open the rear door of the business, but failed. They then smashed the
glass to one of the doors to gain entry. The suspects entered the office and attempted
to pry the safe away from the wall, but did not succeed. The investigation is continuing.

Highlighted Activity for November 10-13, 2016


Residential Burglary
November 10 at 6:24 p.m., a resident in the 1500 block of S. Fifth Avenue called police to report she had just returned home from work and found her home had been burglarized. Although a complete list of stolen property could not be immediately compiled, two rifles were among the items stolen. The investigation is continuing.
Disturbing Subject / Warrants – Suspect Arrested
November 10 at 7:09 p.m., a disturbing subject was reported yelling and screaming in the 700 block of W. Duarte Road. Officers arrived and located a subject matching the description. A computer check revealed the subject had three outstanding warrants for his arrest. He was arrested for the warrants and taken into custody.
Loitering / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
November 10 at 8:28 p.m., several subjects were reported loitering in front of a business in the 700 block of W. Huntington. Officers arrived and found one of the subjects had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody. The subject was held pending his court appearance.
Driving Under the Influence Traffic Collision / Child Endangerment – Suspect Arrested
November 10 at 8:49 p.m., a resident in the 300 block of Longford Place called police to report a vehicle had collided into her neighbors’ yards. Officers arrived and the investigation revealed the driver was extremely intoxicated and had her 16-year-old son in the vehicle at the time of the collision. The suspect was arrested for driving under the influence and child endangerment.
Juvenile Problem / Vandalism / theft
November 11 at 10:00 p.m., approximately ten juveniles were reported in the 100 block of W. Foothill causing a disturbance in a parking lot. Several subjects entered a laundromat and repeatedly kicked a vending machine, causing damage to where the
coins are held. The suspects stole miscellaneous coins from the damaged machine and fled. The investigation is continuing.
Robbery
November 11 at 10:46 p.m., police responded to the report of a robbery in the 400 block of S. Ivy. The victim parked his vehicle on Canyon and the south alley of Lime. He walked west in the alley, heading to the downtown area to meet friends. Two suspects approached, brandished a handgun and pointed it at the victim. The suspects robbed the victim of his cell phone, wallet and miscellaneous personal property, then fled on foot. An extensive search was conducted by officers, but the suspects were not located. The suspects were described as male blacks, but additional description was difficult because their features were concealed by the hoods on their sweatshirts. The investigation is continuing.
Welfare Check / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
November 12 at 10:52 p.m., a business in the 600 block of W. Huntington called police stating there was a subject sleeping on their bench outside their to-go pickup area. Officers arrived and made contact with the subject. A computer check revealed the subject had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody for the warrant.
Vehicle Burglary
November 13 at 1:19 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a business parking lot in the 700 block of W. Huntington regarding a vehicle burglary. The victim parked his SUV in the parking lot and locked it. He returned to his vehicle a short time later to discover his vehicle had been broken into and the third row seats had been stolen. The investigation is continuing.
Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Warrant – Suspects Arrested
November 13 at 6:01 p.m., officers responded to the area of Grand and Foothill regarding possible shots heard. As they searched the area, two subjects were contacted and questioned about the possible shots heard. As the officer approached one of the subjects, he reached into his pocket and dropped items behind a brick wall. The items were found to be a glass pipe for smoking drugs and a syringe. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody. During a search of his person, a baggie of methamphetamine was found in his pocket. The other suspect was arrested for an outstanding warrant. There was no evidence of gunshots and only one call was received by police.

November 14 at 5:14 a.m., a theft was reported in the 500 block of W. Colorado. The victim called police to report that high-value parts were stolen from his motorcycle that was parked in his driveway overnight. The investigation is continuing.

Highlighted Activity for November 3-6, 2016

Grand Theft Auto
November 3 at 4:30 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from a parking lot in the 1600 block of S. Myrtle Avenue. The victim parked his vehicle in the lot at 7:00 a.m. and went to work. When he returned at 4:30 p.m., he discovered his vehicle had been stolen. The investigation is continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
November 3 at 5:20 p.m., an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation at California and Duarte. A computer check of the driver revealed she had a felony warrant out of Monrovia for her arrest. She was arrested and taken into custody for the warrant.
Petty Theft
November 3 at 9:50 p.m., a resident in the 700 block of Montana Street called police to report the theft of his bicycle. The victim left his bicycle on the side of his yard at 8:00 p.m. and went inside his residence. At 9:00 p.m., he went back outside and noticed his bicycle was missing. The investigation is continuing.
Hit & Run Traffic Collision – Vehicle vs. Pedestrian
November 3 at 11:01 p.m., a hit and run traffic collision that occurred at Mayflower and Diamond was reported to police. A 17-year-old male subject was walking across the street when a vehicle's front fender grazed the back of his ankle. The driver of the vehicle left the scene. The minor walked home and informed his mother of the incident. The minor did not have any visible injuries, but he complained of pain to his ankle. The investigation is continuing.
Assault
November 4 at 7:40 a.m., a female resident in the 1200 block of S. Sherman called police to report she had been involved in a fight with her brother. Both subjects are adults. The argument became physical and both subjects pushed and shoved each other. The male suspect then pushed his sister to the ground, causing her to fall backwards and strike her back on a brick planter box. The suspect then went into the house and the victim followed. Inside the house, they continued to argue and fight. At
one point, the male suspect bit the female victim on her shoulder through her shirt, causing injury. The suspect then left the residence on foot. Officers conducted an area search for the suspect, but he was not located. The investigation is continuing.
Traffic Collison – Vehicle vs. Pedestrian
November 4 at 3:05 p.m., a student ran in front of a slow moving vehicle at a middle school in the 200 block of S. Ivy. The child was struck and went to the ground. The child was treated by Monrovia Fire Department and taken to a hospital for precautionary measures. The child had visible scrapes on his face. The child’s mother was notified. She responded to the school and went to the hospital with her son.
Possession of a Controlled Substance / Warrants – Suspect Arrested
November 5 at 3:50 a.m., police dispatch received a call reporting several subjects sleeping on the lawn at a location in the 200 block of E. Palm. Officers arrived and discovered five subjects sleeping on the lawn. The officers recognized one of the subjects and knew he had outstanding warrants for his arrest. The warrants were confirmed and the subject was arrested. A search of his property revealed he was in possession of methamphetamine, which was added to his charges.
Grand Theft Auto
November 5 at 7:50 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from an apartment complex in the 1500 block of Encino. The victim parked and locked her vehicle in the guest parking for the complex at 2:00 a.m. The vehicle is a black, 1998 Honda Civic. When she returned to her vehicle in the morning, she found her vehicle was missing. Officers checked the area, but the vehicle was not located. The investigation is continuing.

November 5 at 12:02 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of Ridgeside on the report of a vehicle burglary. The victim parked and locked his vehicle on the street at 1:45 a.m. Sometime during the night, unknown suspects entered the vehicle and gained access to the trunk. They stole miscellaneous tools and other items from the trunk of the vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
November 5 at 6:27 p.m., police received a call reporting subjects camped out in the rear alley of a business in the 300 block of W. Huntington. Officers arrived and made contact with one male and one female camped out in the alley. The female subject was found to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest and was in possession of a glass pipe used for smoking methamphetamine. She was arrested and taken into custody.
Disturbing Subjects / Public Intoxication / Violation of Domestic Violence Restraining Order – Suspects Arrested
November 5 at 7:30 p.m., a male and female subject were reported fighting in the park in the 300 block of S. Myrtle Avenue. Officers arrived and located the two subjects. The female subject was found to be extremely intoxicated and was arrested for being drunk in public. The male subject is listed as being the restrained person in a court ordered domestic violence restraining order and the protected person is the intoxicated female. The male subject was arrested for violating the restraining order.
Domestic Violence
November 5 at 11:30 p.m., a fight between a male and female subject was reported in the 500 block of W. Palm. Officers arrived and found the subjects were in a vehicle arguing. The male subject had an injury to his finger and the female subject had an injury to her hand. The officers determined the female subject was the aggressor and she was arrested for domestic violence.
