Attempt Residential Burglary
July 27at 8:48 a.m., a resident in the 300 block of N. May called police to report two suspicious subjects on the side of her neighbor’s home. The resident was washing her vehicle in her driveway and watched the subjects look into the home and remove the window screen. The subjects fled east on Prospect in a silver 4 door vehicle prior to officers’ arrival. The investigation is ongoing.
Grand Theft Auto Recovery – Suspect Arrested
July 27 at 5:10 p.m., officers on patrol in the 2000 block of South Myrtle located a stolen vehicle. The officers made a traffic stop and detained two female suspects. The driver was detained and taken into custody.
Weapon Offense / Suspended License – Suspect Arrested
July 27 at 10:28 p.m., an officer on patrol in the area of Lime and Canyon stopped a motorcyclist for a vehicle code violation. The motorcyclist had a passenger not wearing a helmet. Further investigation revealed that the driver had a firearm in a compartment of the motorcycle and neither the driver or the passenger had a valid license.
Vehicle Burglary
July 28 at 3:28 p.m., officers responded to a business in the 900 block of W. Huntington Dr. regarding a vehicle burglary. The victim parked and locked her vehicle and went into the establishment to eat lunch. She returned about an hour later to find her vehicle window had been shattered, no loss could be determined. The investigation is continuing.
Elder Abuse
July 28 at 3:40 p.m., officers responded an elder abuse call. The hospital called the police to report an elderly woman was being treated for a back injury caused by a family member and an Adult Protective Services referral was being completed. Officers made contact with the victim who said her son pushed her causing her to fall. The investigation is ongoing.
Warrant / Possession Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
July 29 at 3:34 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 100 block of W. Duarte and noticed
a vehicle with a broken tail lamp. The officer stopped the vehicle for the violation and
further investigation revealed the driver had a no bail warrant and had
methamphetamine in his possession. The suspect was taken into custody and booked.
Vehicle Burglary
July 29 at 11:16 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 300 block of Grand. The
victim parked and locked his vehicle in front of his home on July 27. When he returned
to his vehicle, he noticed his third row seat had been stolen from his vehicle. No
witnesses, forced entry or evidence was found. The investigation is continuing.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
July 29 at 6:56 p.m., a domestic violence incident was reported in the 1000 block of
Orange. Officers arrived and determined a male subject at the residence was the
primary aggressor. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Commercial Burglary
July 30 at 8:01 a.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 300 block of W.
Huntington on the report of a burglary. The employee arrived for work in the morning
and noticed the front window was smashed. The officers conducted an interior check
and discovered someone tried to open the safe, possibly with a sledge hammer. No
loss was noted other than the broken window. The investigation is continuing
Petty Theft – Suspect Arrested
July 30 at 1:50 p.m., a theft of an antique bicycle was reported by employees at a
business in the 400 block of S. Myrtle. An area search was done and an officer noticed
a female in the area of Maple and Primrose with a bicycle wheel. Apparently the tires
did not have any air in them and the suspect approached a local business owner asking
to help put air in them. The officer arrested the female who was later cited and
released.
Residential Burglary
July 30 at 6:26 p.m., a residential burglary was reported in the 100 block of N. Sunset.
The resident had an open house and during the open house a ring, one thousand
dollars and some credit cards were stolen. The investigation is on-going.
Vehicle Burglary
July 30 at 8:13 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 800 block of E. Olive. The
victim locked her vehicle, but left a window slightly down and walked to the skate park.
A few minutes later she saw some subjects loitering near her vehicle. When she walked
towards them, they got into a vehicle and fled. Her iPhone 7 was stolen from inside her
vehicle. Investigation is ongoing.
Theft / Traffic Offense – Suspect Arrested
July 31 at 12:37 a.m., an officer on patrol in the 700 block of E. Huntington stopped a
bicyclist for a vehicle code violation. Further investigation revealed the subject was in
possession of a stolen credit card. The suspect was taken into custody and booked.
Resisting / Delaying – Suspect Arrested
July 31 at 4:02 a.m., an officer on patrol in the area of California and Lemon conducted
a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding. The driver was showing symptoms of being
under the influence. When the officer asked him to exit the vehicle, the subject would
not comply and began reaching for the center console. Officers ordered the subject out
of the vehicle and as soon as he exited the vehicle, he attempted to run and became
resistive as the officers tried to detain him. The suspect was apprehended, arrested and
booked.

Highlighted Activity for July 20-23, 2017
July 20 at 6:00 p.m., a disturbing subject was reported at a business in the 200 block of E. Duarte. An officer responded and located the subject driving a vehicle near the location. Through investigation, the officer determined the subject was driving under the influence of a controlled substance and he was found to be in possession of hypodermic needles. He was taken to a hospital for treatment. A verified complaint will be submitted to the District Attorney for filing consideration.
Injury Traffic Collision / Missing Person Located
July 20 at 10:15 p.m., an officer responded to the report of an injury traffic collision in the 800 block of W. Chestnut. A vehicle traveling east on Chestnut moved to the right and collided with a parked vehicle. The driver, a 94-year-old male, suffered injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. He was disoriented and he thought he was in another city. The subject had been reported as a missing person from Los Angeles.
Residential Burglary
July 20 at 10:45 p.m., a residential burglary was reported in the 200 block of El Nido. The resident left the location at approximately 1:00 p.m. When she returned at 10:45 p.m., she found her home and been broken into and ransacked. A small safe and other miscellaneous items were taken. The investigation is continuing.
Battery – Verified Complaints Filed
July 21 at 12:31 a.m., a battery incident was reported in the area of Primrose and Linwood. Two subjects were involved in a fight. The suspects know each other and both desired prosecution. Verified complaints will be completed and submitted to the District Attorney’s office for filing consideration.
Violation of Restraining Order – Suspect Arrested
July 21 at 8:30 a.m., officers were on patrol in the 200 block of W. Huntington when they saw a male and female that are the subjects involved in a restraining order. The female subject has a valid domestic violence court order to protect her from the male subject. Officers contacted the male as he was leaving the area and took him into custody for violation of the court order. The suspect was booked and is being held pending his court appearance.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
July 21 at 3:47 p.m., officers were on patrol in the 400 block of E. Walnut when they
recognized a subject they knew had a number of outstanding warrants. The suspect has
been evading arrest. Officers contacted the suspect and placed him under arrest. The
suspect was booked and is being held pending his court appearance.
Elder Abuse – Suspect Arrested
July 21 at 9:03 p.m., officers responded to the 800 block of W. Duarte regarding a
disturbing subject. The suspect threatened his 84-year-old grandmother and pushed
her. She was fearful because of prior acts of violence. The suspect was arrested for
elder abuse.
Warrants / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
July 21 at 10:43 p.m., officers contacted two subjects in the 1300 block of S. Magnolia.
One subject was found to have warrants for her arrest. When she was searched, she
was also found to be in possession of hypodermic syringes. She was arrested and later
released to an outside agency on the warrants.
Resisting and Delaying a Peace Officer – Suspect Arrested
July 22 at 1:29 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 1600 block of S. Mountain
regarding suspicious persons in the area. Upon their arrival, one of the subjects ran. A
foot pursuit ensued and the suspect was taken into custody. He was arrested for
resisting and delaying a peace officer. He was booked and released on a citation to
appear in court.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
July 22 at 3:12 a.m., an officer observed a vehicle commit several traffic violations at the
intersection of Mountain and Huntington. He followed the vehicle and noticed the driver
was swerving. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was determined to be under the
influence of alcohol. He was arrested for DUI and taken into custody.
Vehicle Burglary
July 22 at 6:00 a.m., the victim parked and locked her vehicle in front of her home the
night before. Sometime during the night, unknown suspects entered her vehicle and
stole the registration from the glovebox. Nothing else was taken. The investigation is
continuing.
Bicycle Theft
July 22 at 8:30 a.m., a theft of bicycles was reported in the 1800 block of S. Alta Vista.
Two bicycles were taken from an open garage. No evidence or witnesses were located
and nothing else in the garage had been disturbed. The investigation is continuing.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
July 22 at 1:49 p.m., a domestic violence incident was reported in the 1300 block of S.
Mayflower. A male and female were reported to be verbally arguing in a parked vehicle.
Officers arrived and contacted the female, who was now standing outside the car and
had visible facial injuries. The male subject had left the area. The victim was treated at
the scene, but refused to be taken to the hospital. The investigation revealed her
boyfriend had battered her during an argument and fled prior to police arriving. Officers
located the suspect a short distance away and arrested him. The suspect was booked
and is being held pending his court appearance.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
July 22 at 7:04 p.m., an officer on patrol in the 300 block of E. Lemon saw a vehicle
attempting to park. The officer saw the vehicle collide into a parked vehicle. The officer
contacted the driver and, through investigation, determined he was driving under the
influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested for DUI and taken into custody.
Driving Under the Influence / Hit and Run Traffic Collision – Suspect Arrested
July 23 at 12:04 a.m., dispatch received numerous calls reporting a vehicle had crashed
into a structure in the 100 block of S. Mountain. Officers arrived and found the driver
had fled the scene on foot. The occupant of the house the vehicle crashed into was
uninjured and none of the vehicle occupants were injured. The driver was located at
Mountain and Olive. He was identified by several witnesses and showed signs of
intoxication. An investigation was conducted and the driver was arrested for DUI.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
July 23 at 1:49 a.m., officers were working a DUI patrol assignment and observed a
vehicle speeding on Myrtle. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver showed signs of
intoxication. A DUI investigation was conducted and the driver was determined to be too
intoxicated to operate his vehicle safely. The driver was arrested for DUI.

Highlighted Activity for April 13-16, 2017
Residential Burglary
April 13 at 2:28 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of W. Hillcrest regarding a burglary. The location is vacant, but staged for sale. The property owner returned to the location and saw the rear glass door had been shattered. Nothing was stolen from inside the location, but it was evident the suspects had searched through the location for items. There was graffiti inside the location as well. The investigation is continuing.
Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
April 13 at 3:38 p.m., an officer responded to the rear of a business in the 300 block of W. Huntington regarding a homeless person camping. One female adult was located inside a make shift shelter. While speaking to her, officers determined she was under the influence of methamphetamine. She was arrested and taken into custody.
Residential Burglary
April 13 at 5:01 p.m., a resident in the 400 block of N. Alta Vista called police to report their home had been burglarized. The resident had returned home and found someone had kicked in his front door. Officers responded and searched the residence, but no suspects were located. Numerous items were taken from the home. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary
April 14 at 12:08 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 200 block of W. Evergreen regarding a vehicle burglary. The victim walked outside to her vehicle and found a suspect inside rummaging through her belongings. She yelled at the suspect and he ran away. Officers conducted an area check, but did not find the suspect. The victim believes the suspect may have taken some of her mail from the vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspects Arrested
April 14 at 1:19 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 400 block of S. Myrtle when he observed a subject that was snorting a white substance off of a metal box. The officer
detained the subject and he admitted to snorting methamphetamine. The suspect was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
Vehicle Burglary
April 14 at 2:28 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 800 block of W. Duarte Road. The victim parked and locked her vehicle in the carport of her apartment complex, leaving her purse on the front seat. When she returned to the vehicle, she found a window had been smashed and her purse was missing. The investigation is continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
April 14 at 4:47 p.m., an officer on patrol in the 1400 block of S. Shamrock conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a vehicle code violation. A computer check revealed the driver had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The driver was arrested and taken into custody.
Battery / Elder Abuse – Suspect Arrested
April 14 at 8:56 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of Fano on a battery report. The 21-year-old son woke up and began arguing with his father. He then began punching his father on the head. His grandmother walked into the room to see what was going on and he turned and wrapped his arm around her neck and began choking her. An Uncle had to intervene until police arrived. The suspect was arrested for battery and elder abuse.
Theft from a Vehicle
April 15 at 7:26 a.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 1600 block of S. Mayflower. The victim parked her vehicle in her garage, but the vehicle was unlocked and the garage door was open throughout the night. She returned to her vehicle the next day and noticed property had been stolen from inside. The investigation is continuing.
Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance / Delaying and Resisting a Peace Officer – Suspect Arrested
April 15 at 8:37 a.m., a caller reported a male subject driving a food truck erratically in a park in the 700 block of E. Lemon. Officers arrived and located a male subject walking south on Shamrock and determined he was, in fact, the driver of the vehicle. The subject displayed symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance and he fled on foot from officers across the street and entered a church. Officers detained the suspect and he was arrested. The suspect was held for a sobering period.
Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sales – Suspect Arrested
April 17 at 1:10 a.m., officers responded to the area of Mountain and Valley View regarding a subject smoking marijuana in a vehicle. The investigation led the officers to conduct a vehicle search and a large quantity of drugs were located in addition to packaging material and a scale. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.

Highlighted Activity for February 6-8, 2017
Attempt Burglary
February 6 at 7:37 a.m., the owner of a business in the 100 block of E. Chestnut called police to report an attempt burglary at the business. Someone had tampered with the chain link fence that encloses his compressor and the rear door of his business. The suspect pried the chain link fence open and attempted to pry open the rear door, but was unsuccessful and there was no loss. The investigation is continuing.
Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
February 6 at 10:41 a.m., a shoplifting incident was reported at a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain. A suspect entered the store, selected merchandise from the shelf and attempted to make a fraudulent return of the stolen merchandise. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Trespassing – Suspect Arrested
February 6 at 11:58 a.m., a resident in the 1400 block of S. Magnolia Avenue called police to report her daughter was trespassing on her property. The investigation revealed the suspect was served with a valid no trespassing order and had gained entry into the property by unknown means. She was located inside the location in violation of the order and was arrested.
Elder Abuse – Suspect Arrested
February 6 at 3:30 p.m., during a follow up investigation of a reported elder abuse incident, the suspect was contacted and interviewed. The suspect admitted to taking checks and cashing them from her elderly family member’s bank account, totaling over $3000. The suspect was arrested and is being held pending her court appearance.
Commercial Burglary
February 7 at 6:04 a.m., a burglary was reported at a business in the 100 block of E. Chestnut Avenue. The suspect gained entry into the building by forcing open the rear door. A laptop and hand drill were taken. The investigation is continuing.
Assault With a Deadly Weapon / Criminal Threats – Suspect Arrested
February 7 at 11:49 p.m., officers were dispatched on the report of an assault with a
deadly weapon at a business in the 600 block of S. Myrtle. The suspect entered the
business and approached an employee. He pointed a knife at the employee and made
terrorist threats, saying he wanted to kill her. The suspect moved toward the employee
in a threatening manner and then fled on foot. Officers searched the area and located
the suspect. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Attempt Vehicle Burglary
February 7 at 7:38 p.m., officers responded to a business in the 700 block of E.
Huntington regarding a vehicle burglary. The victim parked his 2015 Lexus in the
parking lot and went into the business. When he returned to the vehicle, he noticed his
window had been smashed. Surveillance video shows two suspects arriving in a black
Jeep Cherokee. One of the suspects was seen in the video breaking the driver's side
window and the two suspects flee when the alarm on the vehicle sounds. The
investigation is continuing.
Residential Burglary
February 7 at 7:52 p.m., dispatch received a report of an alarm activation at a residence
in the 200 block of Terrace View. Officers arrived and did not see any vehicles leaving
the property. Further investigation revealed the side and rear door to the residence were
both forced open. Officers searched the residence, but no suspects were found. It
appears the suspects ransacked the home and were inside for some time before setting
off the alarm. The investigation is continuing.
Residential Burglary
February 8 at 10:16 a.m., a residential burglary was reported in the 200 block of Terrace
View. The back door had been forced open and the home had been ransacked. The
loss could not be determined until the homeowners could inventory the location. The
investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft Auto
February 8 at 11:33 a.m., the victim of a grand theft called police to report her son had
stolen her vehicle, a 2011 Mercedes C300 from the 1000 block of E. Huntington.
Attempts were made to contact the suspect with no results. The investigation is
continuing.
Grand Theft Auto Recovery / Possession of Loaded Firearm – Suspects Arrested
February 8 at 4:35 p.m., officers located a stolen vehicle traveling north on Myrtle at
Chestnut. The vehicle was stopped on Foothill and two occupants were arrested. A
loaded firearm was discovered inside the center console of the vehicle. The suspects
are being held until their court appearance.
