Highlighted Activity for July 6-9, 2017

Commercial Burglary
July 6 at 1:41 a.m., a commercial burglary was reported at a business in the 400 block of W. Huntington. Two male suspects were seen on video surveillance wearing hooded sweatshirts and jeans. They shattered the front door of the business and took a safe which contained cash out of an office and fled. The investigation is continuing.
Commercial Burglary
July 6 at 2:19 a.m., a commercial burglary was reported at a business in the 600 block of W. Huntington. Unknown suspects shattered the front door of the business. It is unknown if anything was taken, as the loss could not be determined until the owners could respond and inventory the business. The investigation is continuing.
Found Property
July 6 at 8:03 a.m., employees from a business in the 300 block of W. Evergreen called police to report two safes they found in the parking lot. The safes were smashed and there were papers, checks and coins on the ground. An officer arrived and saw that the paperwork and checks belonged to a business located in the 600 block of W. Huntington. The second safe belonged to a business in the 400 block of W. Huntington. The business were burglarized that morning. The investigation is continuing.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered – Suspect Arrested
July 6 at 8:32 a.m., officers on patrol in the 400 block of N. Alta Vista observed a suspicious vehicle and stopped to check it and the occupants. A computer check revealed the vehicle was stolen. The driver was arrested and taken into custody.
Vehicle vs. Pedestrian
July 7 at 12:40 a.m., a pedestrian was attempting to cross Myrtle at the intersection of Cypress and was struck by a vehicle traveling north on Myrtle. The pedestrian sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Suspicious Persons / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
July 7 at 1:47 a.m., officers were on patrol in the 200 block of W. Maple when they observed two suspicious subjects in the area. They detained the suspects and while
doing a pat down search for weapons, drug paraphernalia was found on one of the
subjects and he was arrested.
Vehicle Burglary
July 7 at 8:36 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 1200 block of N. Canyon. The
victim parked and locked her vehicle on Canyon and went to take a walk in the park.
When the victim returned, she found her purse was missing from the trunk. There were
no signs of forced entry. The investigation is continuing.
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
July 7 at 11:30 a.m., officers were on patrol in the 300 block of W. Huntington when they
noticed two subjects on bicycles whom they recognized from prior contacts. One of the
subjects is known to be on probation for theft. Officers made contact with the two
subjects and during a subsequent search of their persons, a methamphetamine pipe
was located in one of the subject’s pockets. The subject was arrested and taken into
custody.
Fireworks – Suspects Arrested
July 7 at 7:25 p.m., officers heard fireworks being set off and saw a group of juveniles in
the area. They were detained and found to be in possession of illegal fireworks. Two
were cited and all were picked up by their parents.
Driving Under the Influence / Warrants – Suspect Arrested
July 8 at 1:58 a.m., officers on patrol in the 100 block of E. Evergreen saw a vehicle
driving during darkness with no headlights. The driver was stopped and, through
investigation, was found to be driving under the influence of marijuana. He was also
found to have warrants out of Ohio, which were confirmed. He was arrested and taken
into custody.
Commercial Burglary
July 8 at 2:41 a.m., officers responded to a business in the 900 block of E. Huntington
regarding a burglary alarm activation. The suspects are described as two male Blacks.
They used a crow bar to gain entry and took drugs from the pharmacy area. They fled
the area in a silver SUV.
Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
July 8 at 12:39 p.m., a shoplifting incident was reported at a business in the 500 block of
W. Huntington. Loss prevention personnel at the business observed a subject enter the
store, select merchandise and leave the store without paying for the items. The suspect
was confronted outside the store and escorted back inside. The suspect was arrested
by police and released with a citation to appear in court on the charges.
Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
July 8 at 1:35 p.m., loss prevention at a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington
called police to report a shoplifter. They observed the suspect entering the store,
selecting merchandise and leaving the store without paying for the items. The suspect
was confronted outside the store and escorted back inside. The suspect was also found
to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The suspect was arrested and issued a
citation for the theft. He was later transferred to the custody of Glendora Police
Department on the warrant.
Robbery
July 8 at 7:56 p.m., a robbery was reported at a business in the 900 block of W.
Huntington. Two male Black suspects entered the store wearing surgical masks and
ordered both employees into a back room with a black semi-automatic handgun. They
ordered the employees to open the safe and put all of the cell phones that were inside
the safe into a laundry type bag the suspect had with him. They also demanded money
from the register before fleeing the location. The investigation is continuing.
Fraud / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
July 9 at 8:04 a.m., an officer on patrol in the area of Chestnut and Magnolia stopped a
vehicle for a vehicle code violation. During a consent search of the vehicle, the driver
was found to be in possession of stolen mail, drug paraphernalia and evidence of fraud.
The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Mail Tampering
July 9 at 9:55 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of Granite
regarding missing mail. The victim said he did not check his mailbox for about two
weeks. When he checked it that day, he found it open and with no mail inside. He was
unable to use his key to secure the mailbox, as the lock was damaged. He believes the
suspects damaged the lock when they broke into his mailbox. The investigation is
continuing.
Commercial Burglary
July 10 at 2:50 a.m., officers responded to a business in the 100 block of W. Foothill
regarding a burglary alarm activation. They arrived to find the glass front door shattered.
The video surveillance revealed three male Black suspects using a window punch to
break the glass and enter the store. They took two cash boxes, the cash register and
fled in a vehicle, heading south on Myrtle. The vehicle is described as a black, newer
model, 4-door, sporty looking vehicle with chrome rims. The suspects were all thin build
and were wearing gloves and hooded sweatshirts to cover their faces. They were in the
store for approximately 30 seconds. The investigation is continuing.

Highlighted Activity for June 15-18, 2017

Grand Theft Auto
June 15 at 6:42 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 700 block of W. Duarte Road. The victim parked his white, 1992 Toyota truck on the street at 7:00 p.m. the evening prior. When he returned at 6:30 a.m., he found his vehicle had been stolen. The investigation is continuing.
Non-Injury Traffic Collision
June 15 at 11:13 p.m., officers were dispatched to California and Duarte regarding a semi-truck stuck on the Metro tracks. A semi-truck turned from westbound Duarte to northbound California and struck a yellow pole that protects the railroad arm and the truck got stuck. Metro employees cut the pole in hopes of freeing the truck, but they discovered the impact snapped the brake line, which locked up the wheels on the semi-truck. The truck had to be towed off of the tracks. During the accident, Metro used buses to move people east and west of the area.
Fireworks – Suspects Arrested
June 16 at 1:21 a.m., officers responded to the 400 block of W. Huntington regarding subjects throwing lit fireworks from a vehicle. Officers checked the area, located the vehicle described on Mayflower and Foothill, and conducted a traffic stop. The occupants denied throwing the fireworks. During a vehicle search, fireworks were found inside the vehicle and the suspects were issued citations to appear in court on the charges and the fireworks were confiscated.
Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
June 16 at 7:21 p.m., suspicious subjects were reported in the 400 block of Bella Vista. Officers arrived and contacted one subject. When he was patted down, he was found to be in possession of Methamphetamine. The suspect was arrested
Commercial Burglary
June 17 at 4:22 a.m., an alarm activation was reported at a business in the 900 block of E. Huntington. Officers arrived and found the entire front entrance damaged. It appears
the suspects rammed the front doors with a white, full-size, diesel truck, destroying the entrance doors and shelves in the store. The suspects took drugs and fled, heading south on Mountain. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft Auto
June 17 at 5:58 a.m., a white, full-size, diesel truck was reported stolen from the 700 block of Mountain View. The victim went out to his vehicle in the morning and found his truck had been stolen from his residence. This may be the truck used in the commercial burglary. The investigation is continuing.
Disturbing Subject / Assault
June 17 at 1:39 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the report of a disturbing subject at a business in the 700 block of W. Huntington. Officers arrived and learned that the store cashier had been punched in the face by an angry customer. The suspect had left the area. Officers conducted an area check for the suspect, but he was not located. The investigation is continuing.
Lost Hikers
June 17 at 3:22 p.m., dispatch received a call from the Monrovia Fire Department stating they were trying to locate two lost hikers. The Fire Department set up a command post and reported the hikers were approximately 14 miles west of Canyon Park. Police dispatch contacted the lost hikers on their cell phone. The hikers were husband and wife. They said they had been in the hills for approximately 10 hours in 100 degree temperatures and needed water. The husband was able to give the latitude and longitude of their location from his cell phone. Sierra Madre Search and Rescue was contacted and at 4:10 p.m., search teams headed out to the hikers' location and they were rescued and brought to safety.
Attempt Robbery
June 17 at 7:13 p.m., an attempt robbery was reported at a business in the 400 block of W. Foothill. The suspect entered the business and asked a few questions, then asked what time the business closed and left. He returned an hour later, entered the shop and told the victim to give him money. The victim told the suspect she did not have any money. The suspect then lifted his shirt and showed her a gun tucked in his waistband. The victim told the suspect he needed to get a job and that he was young and able to work. While the victim was arguing with the robber, another employee sitting behind her reached back with two dollars, which the suspect took and fled. The employee had her back to the robber and did not know the suspect was attempting to rob them. She said she just heard him ask for money, so she gave him two dollars. The suspect was described as a male Hispanic in his 40’s. The investigation is continuing.
Driving Under the Influence / Evading Police – Suspect Arrested
June 17 at 8:07 p.m., an officer on patrol was flagged down by a witness and advised of a possible drunk driver. The officer saw the vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road and attempted to stop it. The driver failed to yield and after several blocks of slow speed driving, began running red lights and picking up speed and the officer went in pursuit.
The Foothill Air Support Team helicopter responded and began calling the pursuit from the air. The vehicle entered the 210 Freeway heading east and travelling at approximately 80 miles per hour, but was going in and out of traffic. It transitioned onto the 605 Freeway, exited at Arrow Highway. The suspect was driving recklessly, almost colliding with other vehicles and was running red lights, then reentered the freeway heading north. Monrovia units backed off and the helicopter continued to follow the vehicle. The suspect eventually drove home to Covina, parked in the driveway and went into the house. Officers arrived and set up containment of the home. Dispatch was able to obtain homeowner’s information, who turned out to be the suspect’s father. The father called the suspect and told him to surrender. After approximately 45 minutes, the suspect surrendered. The suspect walked out of the home naked and was arrested and taken into custody.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
June 17 at 11:04 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of S. Myrtle regarding a possible intoxicated subject getting into a vehicle. The subject drove away in the vehicle and was located by an officer at Myrtle and Duarte. The officer conducted a traffic stop and his investigation confirmed the driver was intoxicated. The driver was arrested for DUI and taken into custody.
Suspicious Vehicle / Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
June 18 at 12:05 a.m., officers were on patrol in the 3300 block of Peck Road when they observed a suspicious, unoccupied vehicle parked at the curb. As they investigated, they saw a pipe used for smoking methamphetamine on the center console. A few moments later, a subject approached them claiming the vehicle belonged to him. He admitted the pipe was his and he was arrested.
Assault with a Deadly Weapon / Domestic Battery
June 18 at 2:13 a.m., an assault incident was reported in the 100 block of W. Colorado. A female subject was sleeping in a stairwell when she was approached by her ex-boyfriend. He tried taking her bicycle and a struggle ensued. The suspect then took a full beer bottle and struck the female several times on her arms and then fled. The suspect was entered into the law enforcement computer system as a wanted person for the crime. The investigation is continuing.
Driving Under the Influence / Public Intoxication – Suspects Arrested
June 19 at 12:52 a.m., a possible drunk driver was reported in the area of California and Huntington. The vehicle was reported to be running red lights and stopping at green lights. Officers checked the area and located the vehicle in the city of Duarte on Huntington and Alherst. Officers conducted an investigation and confirmed the driver was intoxicated. She was arrested, as well as her passenger, who was also extremely intoxicated and unable to care for herself. The suspects were held for a sobering period.

Highlighted Activity for October 17-19, 2016


Driving Under the Influence / Possession of Drugs / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Child Endangerment – Suspect Arrested
October 17 at 6:33 a.m., officers responded to the report of a vehicle stopped in the middle of the roadway with the engine running in the 400 block of N. Alta Vista. Officers arrived and found a female driver passed out behind the wheel with her 8-year-old son in the vehicle. She admitted that she had used drugs throughout the night. Drugs and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle. The suspect also had outstanding warrants for her arrest. She was arrested and taken into custody. The Department of Children and Family Services responded to take custody of the child.
Trespassing – Suspect Arrested
October 17 at 10:11 a.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 700 block of E. Huntington regarding a trespassing suspect who refuses to abide by the no trespassing order prohibiting him from being at the location. He has repeatedly returned to the location, despite numerous arrests, and he continues to cause disturbances at the business. He was arrested and held due to the likelihood of reoccurrence. He will be held until his court date.
Residential Burglary
October 17 at 3:15 p.m., a residential burglary was reported in the 100 block of W. Greystone. One of the residents arrived home and found the home ransacked. The loss is undetermined and the investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Vandalisms
October 18 at 3:40 a.m., a victim of vandalism called police to report that a window on his vehicle had been smashed. The vehicle was parked in the 100 block of W. Lemon Avenue. An officer arrived and located a total of four vehicles with smashed windows. All four victims were contacted and it appears that nothing was taken from the vehicles after the windows were smashed. No suspects were located. The investigation is continuing.
Vandalism
October 18 at 3:54 a.m., an alarm company called to report an activation at a business
in the 1500 block of S. Myrtle Avenue. Officers arrived and found that an unknown
suspect threw a rock that struck the front window, causing it to break. The investigation
is continuing.
Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Suspect Arrested
October 18 at 9:15 a.m., officers and the Foothill Air Support Team helicopter
responded to an apartment complex in the 400 block of Genoa regarding an intoxicated
family member chasing other family members with a knife. All of the family members
were outside of the residence when officers arrived and the suspect was still inside.
Officers were able to talk the suspect into coming out of the residence and they
detained him.
Family members reported that the suspect is an alcoholic. The adult son said he was
involved in a verbal argument with his father when his father grabbed a knife and
charged after him. The son held his father against the wall while the other family
members ran outside. As the son was attempting to flee through the front door, he hit
the father with the front door as he opened it, causing injury to the father's head. The
suspect was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and taken to a hospital, where
he was treated and cleared for booking, then taken into custody.
Stolen Vehicle – Suspect Arrested
October 18 at 11:52 a.m., officers located a stolen vehicle in the area of Myrtle and
Chestnut with three occupants inside. They followed the vehicle to a parking lot, where
they conducted a high-risk stop. Further investigation revealed the vehicle had been
reported stolen by a rental car service in Santa Monica. The vehicle was rented with
fraudulent documents. The driver was the only suspect arrested.
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
October 18 at 7:19 p.m., a theft in progress in the 500 block of Huntington was reported
to police. A male and female were detained in the parking lot. The investigation showed
there was no theft, but the female was found to have a warrant for her arrest and was in
possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested and taken into custody.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
October 19 at 8:31 a.m., a domestic violence incident was reported at a residence in the
300 block of Oakcliff. A male and female subject became involved in an argument over
text messages. The couple are no longer in a dating relationship, but are still living
together. The male subject pushed the female and then began choking her. When she
began calling police, he simulated a gun with his fingers and told her he should kill her.
Officers arrived and the suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Driving Under the Influence / Traffic Collision – Suspect Arrested
October 19 at 8:43 a.m., a driver was traveling on Peck and lost control of his vehicle.
The vehicle hit a wall and a fire hydrant, and then flipped. The investigation revealed the
driver was under the influence of drugs. The driver was arrested and taken into custody.
Commercial Burglary
October 19 at 9:41 a.m., an officer responded to a church in the 1300 block of S.
Magnolia Avenue regarding a break-in. The suspect entered by removing slats from a
window and took several blankets. The investigation is continuing.
Felony Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
October 19 at 7:47 p.m., an officer was hailed down by a subject in a vehicle near
Magnolia and Evergreen. The subject pointed out a vehicle and reported that the driver
of the vehicle was threatening him. The officer saw the vehicle in question. As the driver
attempted to drive away, he committed two vehicle code violations and was stopped by
the officer on Evergreen. When the officer contacted the driver, he noticed the driver
seemed intoxicated. The officer conducted field sobriety tests and arrested the driver for
DUI. A records check of the driver revealed he had three other DUI convictions within
the last ten years, which made this charge a felony.

Highlighted Activity June 6-9 2016


Commercial Burglary
June 6 at 6:36 a.m., an employee at a business in the 3000 block of S. Peck Road called police to report a burglary. They opened up the business in the morning and discovered someone had cut their office alarm system, then cut a hole through a wall of their office trailer. The suspects rummaged through the office. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary
June 6 at 6:39 a.m., a resident in the 400 block of N. Grand Avenue reported that three of his vehicles had been burglarized. The suspect entered by unknown means into all three locked vehicles and took miscellaneous items belonging to the victim. The investigation is continuing.
Mountain Lion Sighting
June 6 at 6:57 a.m., a resident in the 200 block of Monroe reported seeing a mountain lion in their backyard. When officers arrived, the mountain lion was gone. They checked the area, but could not locate the lion.
Vehicle Burglary
June 6 at 7:40 a.m., a resident in the 500 block of Scenic walked outside his home to go to work and discovered two of his vehicles and his neighbor’s vehicle had been burglarized. He parked his car the day before at approximately 3:00 p.m. He advised the officer that he definitely had locked his car, however, there was no sign of forced entry. Officers believe the suspect had some type of keyless entry device to overcome the lock. The suspect took miscellaneous items from the vehicles. The investigation is ongoing.
Shoplifing – Suspect Arrested
June 6 at 2:32 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington regarding a male adult who was being detained for shoplifting. The suspect
had stolen miscellaneous clothing and had been detained outside the store with the stolen merchandise. Officers arrived, investigated and arrested the suspect.
Injury Traffic Collision
June 6 at 5:05 p.m., officers and Fire Department personnel were dispatched to an injury traffic collision that just occurred in the 200 block of N. Primrose. The investigation revealed the driver of a red vehicle traveling northbound at a high rate of speed lost control and swerved into a parked truck, then continued north on Primrose, leaving several feet of skid marks and crashing into an Edison light pole. Edison responded to repair the pole. The driver was charged with multiple vehicle code violations.
Driving Under the Influence/Evading a Police Officer – Suspect Arrested
June 7 at 12:11 a.m., a female adult called police to report that her purse had been stolen by a suspect who was driving a stolen vehicle in the 700 block of E. Huntington. She was following the suspect in her friend's vehicle. Officers responded and located the stolen vehicle near Huntington and Mount Olive. The driver failed to yield to officers. He eventually stopped near his residence in Duarte. The driver was found to be driving under the influence and was too impaired to drive a motor vehicle safely. He had taken the vehicle without his in-law's permission. The owner of the vehicle did not want to prosecute and the female victim’s purse was not found in the vehicle. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence and evading officers.
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
June 7 at 2:10 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Venice Avenue. A resident in the area called police to report a suspicious male subject walking around their street. Officers arrived and contacted the subject. As they were approaching, they saw the subject throw a methamphetamine pipe on the ground. The subject was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
June 7 at 6:41 p.m., loss prevention personnel at a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington called police to report a theft. A male and female suspect entered the store and selected clothing merchandise. The suspects entered the dressing room, concealed merchandise on their person, and then left the store without paying. Loss prevention personnel were able to write down the license plate of the suspect vehicle. Officers located the vehicle at a residence in the City of Montebello and contacted the two suspects. The suspects admitted to the crime and the merchandise was recovered. The case will be presented to the District Attorney seeking theft charges against the suspects.
Bear Incident
June 8 at 10:08 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 900 block of Norumbega regarding the report of a large bear in a backyard. Officers arrived and deployed two beanbag rounds at the bear, which caused the bear to climb a tree in the yard. Officers advised residents to stay indoors and wait for the bear to come down. Officers received a second call hours later when the bear was in the yard again. They responded and were able to persuade the bear to go back up into the foothills.
Grand Theft Auto
June 8 at 2:30 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 800 block of W. Olive Avenue. The victim parked his vehicle across the street from his residence in the evening and went to bed. The victim awoke to the sound of his vehicle engine being started. He jumped out of bed, looked out the window and saw his vehicle being driven away. The investigation is continuing.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
June 8 at 6:40 p.m., officers were sent to the 400 block of S. Myrtle regarding a disturbing female subject who was swearing at passersby. Officers contacted the subject and determined she was too intoxicated to care for herself. The suspect was arrested and held for a sobering period. She was later released with a citation to appear in court.
Vandalism
June 8 at 7:01 p.m., the caretaker of a church located in the 100 block of W. Palm came to the police station to report a vandalism. A suspect wrote graffiti on a staircase wall with a marker. The investigation is continuing.
False Information to a Peace Officer
June 8 at 9:57 p.m., officers were dispatched to the parking lot of a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain Avenue regarding three subjects who appeared to be selling merchandise from the trunk of a parked vehicle. Officers made contact with the subjects, but they denied selling items without a permit. During the investigation, one of the subjects could not produce any form of identification. He verbally provided false information to the officer in attempts to elude an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He admitted to lying to the officer and was arrested for providing false information to a peace officer and the outstanding warrant.

Highlighted Activity for May 28-31, 2015

Vehicle Burglary
May 29 at 2:45 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 900 block of West Huntington. The victim's vehicle was parked and locked in a parking stall. Unknown suspect(s) smashed the victim's passenger window and removed property that was left on the front passenger seat. The investigation is continuing.
Bear Incident
May 29 at 10:03 a.m., and officer responded to a residence in the 800 block of Wildrose regarding a bear. The homeowner saw a bear rip the metal screen off of the crawl space under her house, but didn't know if the bear had crawled inside the space. The officer checked the crawl space and the surrounding area, but the bear was gone from the location.
Bear Incident
May 29 at 2:44 p.m., a resident in the 800 block of East Foothill called police and reported a bear swimming in the backyard pool of the home. An officer arrived and saw a juvenile bear in the backyard. He attempted to get the bear to move back into the foothills, however, it wouldn't leave the area. The officer then deployed two beanbag rounds at the bear, which successfully influenced the bear to return to the foothills.
Bear Incident
May 29 at 3:14 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Crescent on the report of a very large bear in a resident's backyard, but when officers arrived, the bear was gone. Callers began reporting the bear walking along Hillcrest. Officers responded to Hillcrest and located the bear in a backyard at the base of a large tree. They discovered her two cubs at the top of the tree. The mother began walking toward the officers, so two beanbags rounds were deployed at her, causing her to run away from the officers. She jumped a fence into another yard and then couldn't be found. The Department of Fish and Wildlife responded and stayed in the area until the cubs came down out of the tree to reunite with their mother and they all returned to the foothills.
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol – Suspect Arrested
May 29 at 8:25 p.m., a non-injury traffic collision was reported in the 800 block of Monterey. The investigation revealed that one of the motorists was driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested, taken into custody, and held for sobering.
Unlicensed Driver / Incident Report – Suspect Arrested 
May 30 at 1:17 a.m., an officer stopped a motorist for a vehicle code violation. Further investigation revealed the motorist was an unlicensed driver and was found to be in possession of documents containing other people’s social security numbers. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody. The officer determined the suspect was using the social security numbers for employment purposes. The investigation is continuing and the report will be forward to the IRS to protect potential victims from receiving IRS penalties for unreported income.
Warrant Arrest
May 30 at 2:02 a.m., an officer was on patrol and stopped a motorist for a vehicle code violation in the area of Peck and Emery. The officer discovered the motorist had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The warrant was issued by the El Monte Police Department. The officer arrested the suspect for the warrant and El Monte police officers responded to the Monrovia jail and took custody of the suspect.
Possession of Methamphetamine / Under the Influence of Methamphetamine –
Suspect Arrested
May 30 at 9:38 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a business in the 500 block of West Huntington Drive regarding suspicious subjects loitering behind a store. When the officer arrived, he contacted the subjects and determined one of them, a female, was under the influence of methamphetamine. She was also found to be in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine and a glass methamphetamine pipe. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Possession of Metal Knuckles / Minors in Possession of Alcohol – Suspects
Arrested
May 30 at 11:04 p.m., an officer was patrolling the 200 block of East Olive when he noticed two suspicious subjects loitering in the alley. The officer attempted to contact the subjects and they ran from him. The officer eventually found the subjects hiding  behind a vehicle and discovered they were minors that were consuming alcohol. The officer also found metal knuckles beneath the vehicle where the juveniles were hiding. The juveniles were arrested and released on citations to their parents.
Armed Robbery
June 1 at 2:03 a.m., officers responded to the 400 block of South Myrtle on the report of a robbery that had just occurred. The female victim reported she had been robbed approximately 15 minutes prior at the intersection of Myrtle and Huntington. She told the officers she had left a bar in the 400 block of South Myrtle and had walked to Huntington and Myrtle alone. A red Chevrolet Camaro drove up next to her and stopped. A male passenger exited the vehicle, pointed a black handgun at her and demanded she give him her purse. The victim refused, so the suspect grabbed the purse and they began to struggle with it. She told him to take everything except her phone. The male driver then leaned over the passenger seat, pointed another gun at the victim, and ordered the other suspect to shoot her.
Distracted, the purse was pulled from the victim's grasp and its contents fell onto the ground. The suspect began picking up the contents and putting it back into the purse. The female picked up her phone. Once all the contents were back in the purse, the suspect walked up to the female and grabbed her phone. Both suspects then fled in the vehicle west on Huntington. Highlighted Activity for December 11-14, 2014

Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
December 11 at 4:40 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of West Lime regarding a family disturbance. A female subject went to the location in an effort to visit her children. Family members at the location observed the female acting bizarre and called the police. Upon investigation, it was determined the female was under the influence of methamphetamine and she was arrested. The female was taken into custody and later released on a citation after a sobering period.
Theft From a Vehicle
December 12 at 8:53 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 100 block of North Grand on the report of a theft from a vehicle. Unknown suspect(s) entered the victim's unlocked vehicle and stole identification items from the glove box. The theft occurred sometime overnight. The investigation is continuing.
Residential Burglary
December 12 at 8:54 a.m., a residential burglary was reported in the 200 block of Jasmine. The suspect(s) entered the victim's unlocked garage and forced entry into their vehicle by smashing a window. The victim's purse was in plain view and stolen from the passenger seat. The suspect(s) then left the area undetected. The investigation is continuing.
Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
December 12 at 4:40 p.m., an employee from a hotel in the 900 block of West Huntington called police to report a guest refusing to leave. The subject was contacted by an officer and found to be in possession of methamphetamine. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody. He had warrants for his arrest and was held for the warrants.
Riding a Bicycle Under the Influence of Alcohol – Suspect arrested.
December 13 at 1:15 a.m., an officer observed a subject riding his bicycle on the wrong side of the road in the 1500 block of South Myrtle. Through investigation, the subject was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested.
Battery
December 13 at 1:50 p.m., officers responded to a local bar in the 100 block of East Olive regarding a battery report. The fight inside the bar was over a female patron. All parties refused to prosecute.
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol – Suspect Arrested
December 14 at 1:25 a.m., dispatch received a call from a female subject reporting her husband was intoxicated and left the residence in his vehicle from the 700 block of West Foothill. Officers found the vehicle and stopped the driver. Upon investigation, the driver was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested.
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol – Suspect Arrested
December 14 at 3:00 a.m., an officer stopped a vehicle for a vehicle code violation in the area of Myrtle and Foothill. Through investigation, the officer determined the driver to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and taken into custody.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
December 14 at 1:57 p.m., a male was seen walking south in the 100 block of South Myrtle and appeared to be heavily intoxicated, staggering back and forth slowly as he walked. Officers detained the subject and determined his was too intoxicated to care for his own safety; he was arrested.
Petty Theft – Suspect Arrested
December 14 at 5:29 p.m., a female was detained at a store in the 1600 block of South Mountain by store loss prevention. She had entered the store and stole bathroom items, knowing she did not have enough money to pay for them. Officers arrived and accepted the store's private person’s arrest. The female was issued a misdemeanor citation at the store, then released on a citation pending court appearance.
Domestic Battery – Suspect Arrested
December 14 at 6:23 p.m., dispatch received several calls reporting a disturbance in the 700 block of West Foothill. Police then received a 911 call from a female, believed to be the victim, who reported her husband had just beaten her up. Officers responded and determined this was an ongoing marital dispute. The female was taken to a hospital for complaint of pain to her back. The husband was arrested for domestic violence.
Mental Evaluation
December 15 at 5:58 a.m., a caller reported an erratic driver in the 200 block of South Myrtle to police. Officers responded and found the subject in the vehicle. After speaking with the subject, it was determined he was a danger to himself and others. He was placed on a mental evaluation hold and taken to a hospital, where he will be held for 72 hours.

Highlighted Activity for October 27-29 2014


Traffic Collision – Vehicle vs. Pedestrian
On October 28 at 7:29 a.m., a traffic collision was reported in the area of Myrtle and Foothill. A teenage driver hit a pedestrian. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Suspicious Noises / Bear Incident
On October 28 at 8:47 p.m., police received a call from a resident in the 400 block of North Primrose reporting suspicious noises on their roof. An officer responded, along with the Foothill Air Support Team helicopter, and they discovered a bear on the roof of the residence. The bear was left alone and eventually left the area. 
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
On October 28 at 10:38 p.m., officers responded to a 9-1-1 hangup call involving a family disturbance in the 900 block of West Olive. An officer arrived and spoke to a male adult, who stated his 17-year-old stepson was arguing with him and took off, jumping over walls to get away from him. A computer check of the juvenile revealed he had a no-bail juvenile warrant for his arrest. Officers eventually located the subject hiding in the bed of a pickup truck in a hotel parking lot. The juvenile was arrested and taken into custody. He was taken to Eastlake Juvenile Hall.
Under the Influence of a Contolled Substance / Possession of a Controlled
Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspects Arrested
On October 29 at 11:40 a.m., acting on evidence gathered from a grand theft auto incident earlier in the week, officers went to a location in the 600 block of West Palm to further the investigation. At the location, officers discovered drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a suspect under the influence of a controlled substance. Three suspects were arrested.
Mental Evaluation
On October 29 at 11:01 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of North Grand Avenue to keep the peace. An 18-year-old, male subject was out of control in the residence. The subject was distraught over a breakup with his girlfriend. He was taken to a hospital, where he was held for mental Evaluation.
