Highlighted Activity for June 5-7, 2017

Vehicle Burglary
June 5 at 8:35 a.m., a vehicle burglary that occurred in the 1200 block of S. Alta Vista
was reported to police. The victim parked his vehicle the evening before and returned to
it the next morning to find a window shattered and a gym bag that was in the vehicle
was missing. The investigation is continuing.
Suspicious Circumstances / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
June 5 at 12:02 p.m., officers responded to a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain
to investigate a suspicious female subject seen carrying merchandise around the inside
of the store. The same female had been seen at the store’s El Monte location, trying to
go out an emergency exit with similar merchandise and nearby stores were notified.
There was a vehicle parked outside the emergency exit that matched the description of
a vehicle seen at the El Monte location. Officers arrived, contacted the female and
stopped the vehicle, which had just left the parking lot. The vehicle was a rental that had
its plates covered and was being driven by a subject that was found to have a no-bail
probation warrant, in addition to other warrants. The male subject was arrested for the
warrants and the vehicle was stored. The female was identified and released, as she
had not left the store with the merchandise.
Domestic Battery
June 5 at 5:07 p.m., police responded to the report of a domestic battery incident in
progress in the 700 block of Montana. The suspect is the estranged husband of the
victim. The suspect came to the victim's residence while she had a male friend over and
became involved in a physical altercation with both the male subject and his estranged
wife. During the altercation, the suspect broke his ankle. The suspect was taken to a
hospital for treatment. He was issued a citation to appear in court on the battery
charges and was served with an Emergency Protective Order.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered
June 7 at 6:10 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 300 block of Pine Tree
Lane. The victim reported that the vehicle was parked on the street and was locked.
The vehicle was located by Monrovia parking control officers three hours later,
unoccupied, and parked in the 300 block of N Encinitas. Several items were missing
from the interior of the vehicle. The vehicle was returned to the victim and the
investigation is continuing.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
June 7 at 8:28 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of W. Cypress on the report of
a domestic violence incident. The investigation revealed that the male subject struck his
girlfriend during an argument. The altercation resulted in redness and bruising to the
female. The male subject was arrested for domestic violence.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered – Suspect Arrested
June 7 at 1:45 p.m., officers responded to a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain
Avenue to investigate a possible theft. Store loss prevention was observing a male
suspect inside the store concealing merchandise and a waiting vehicle outside. Officers
arrived and located the male suspect outside, next to the unoccupied vehicle. The
vehicle was found to be a reported stolen. The male suspect told police he had driven
the vehicle to the location and knew it was stolen. The suspect was arrested and taken
into custody.
Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia –
Suspect Arrested
June 7 at 3:29 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 700 block of S. Shamrock Avenue
regarding a possible domestic violence incident. The officers located the subjects and
determined there was no domestic violence that occurred, but during the course of the
investigation, they discovered the male subject was in possession of drug paraphernalia
and methamphetamine. He was arrested and taken into custody.

Highlighted Activity for August 4-7, 2016

Drug Paraphernalia – Suspects Arrested
August 4 at 10:22 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 200 block of W. Huntington Drive and noticed a make shift enclosure that had multiple subjects inside, blocking the rear access to a business. Officers made contact with the subjects and, through investigation, arrested one suspect for having an outstanding warrant and being in possession of drug paraphernalia. A second suspect was arrested for being in possession of drug paraphernalia and was issued a citation.
Grand Theft
August 4 at 12:00 p.m., a grand theft from a vehicle was reported in the 700 block of W. Huntington Drive. The victim parked and locked his vehicle in a hotel parking lot the day before. When he returned to his vehicle the following day, he found his third row seats had been stolen. There were no signs of forced entry into the vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
August 4 at 3:22 p.m., police received a call reporting a subject behind the wheel of a vehicle, who appeared to be asleep. Officers arrived and determined the suspect had been driving while intoxicated. The suspect was arrested for driving under the influence and two outstanding arrest warrants.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
August 5 at 2:18 a.m., officers were on patrol in the 300 block of S. Myrtle when they observed an adult male subject loitering in the park after it was closed. They contacted the subject and a computer check revealed the subject had a domestic violence warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody for the warrant.
Hit and Run Traffic Collision / Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
August 5 at 3:37 a.m., a resident in the 100 block of West Olive reported that the driver of a red Toyota had just crashed into a parked vehicle and fled south on Primrose with its bumper dragging on the ground. The driver of the Toyota failed to stop and exchange information or leave a note on the vehicle. Officers searched the area and located the
suspect vehicle in the 100 block of W. Maple, being driven with no lights. The driver headed north on Magnolia, still dragging the bumper. When the officer turned on his red and blue lights, the driver put the car in park while it was still in motion, causing the gears to grind to a halt. The driver was asked to exit the vehicle and field sobriety tests were conducted. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence and the hit and run traffic collision. She was taken into custody.
Prowling
August 4 at 8:00 p.m., residents in the 300 block of Oakcliff and the 700 block of Norumbega called police to report three male adults prowling around two houses. The two houses back up to one another. One of the callers had just arrived home and saw a grey, four-door sedan with paper plates parked on the street. The vehicle was running and a male adult subject was in the driver's seat. The resident pulled into her driveway with her headlights on and saw a male Hispanic in his late 20's, wearing a red, long-sleeve shirt, run from her backyard and into the waiting vehicle. The suspects then fled east on Norumbega in the vehicle.
The caller from Oakcliff reported that he saw the same male suspect in the red shirt in his neighbor's backyard on Oakcliff, prowling around. Officers searched the area with the assistance of the Foothill Air Support Team police helicopter, however, were unable to locate the suspects. This investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft
August 5 at 6:29 a.m., a grand theft from a vehicle was reported in the 400 block of W. Colorado. The victim parked his vehicle on the street the day before and when he returned in the morning, he found his tailgate had been stolen from his Toyota truck. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary
August 5 at 9:19 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 600 block of E. Colorado. The victim parked his work truck on the street on the day before and when he returned to his truck the next morning, he found his rear window had been shattered and a new faucet, which he had left in the truck, had been stolen from inside. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft
August 5 at 10:30 a.m., a grand theft from a vehicle was reported in the 1300 block of S. Mayflower Avenue. The victim parked his truck in a parking lot the day before and when he returned in the morning, he found his tailgate had been stolen from his Ford truck. The investigation is continuing.
Domestic Violence
August 5 at 2:46 p.m., an officer responded to a domestic violence incident in the 200 block of W. Hillcrest Avenue. A female subject was involved in an argument with her ex-boyfriend. The argument became physical and the female caused an injury to the male subject. The female was arrested for domestic violence and taken into custody. She was held pending her court appearance.
Public Intoxication
August 5 at 3:29 p.m., police received a call reporting a suspicious subject loitering in the 300 block of W. Huntington Drive. Officers responded and contacted the male subject. He was determined to be too intoxicated to care for himself. He was taken into custody and held for a sobering period. He was later released with a citation.
Robbery
August 6 at 10:48 a.m., a robbery was reported at a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain Avenue. Two suspects entered the business. One of the suspects selected merchandise, placed it in a basket and walked toward the garden area. The suspect passed several manned check stands and fled without paying for the merchandise. Once outside, loss prevention agents confronted him and a fight ensued. During the struggle, the suspect bit one of the agent's arms, attempting to get away. The suspect was subdued and detained by loss prevention prior to officers arriving. The officer arrested the suspect and he was taken into custody. He was held pending his court appearance.
Grand Theft
August 6 at 11:00 a.m., a grand theft was reported at a residence in the 200 block of N. Primrose. Unknown suspects stole three bicycles from a backyard shed. The shed does not have doors and the bicycles were visible from an alley behind the property. The bicycles were stolen sometime after August 1. The suspect(s) entered the backyard through an unlocked gate. The investigation is continuing.
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
August 6 at 11:30 p.m., a caller reported a subject was sleeping inside their business and refused to leave. Officers arrived and contacted the subject. During a consent search of the subject, a pipe used for smoking methamphetamine was located in his front pant pocket. The suspect was arrested and issued a citation to appear in court.
Drug Activity / Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
August 7 at 1:40 p.m., an officer was flagged down by Monrovia Fire Department personnel at a hotel in the 700 block of W. Huntington. They had responded to the report of a fire alarm activation in a room at the hotel. Fire personnel were told by employees at the hotel that they suspected suspicious activity in the room. The officer detained a suspicious male subject in the lobby that had come from the room. Officers went to the room and located a female subject, who gave them consent to search the room. Methamphetamine was located inside the room and drug paraphernalia was found on the male suspect. The female suspect was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and the male suspect for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Highlighted Activity for June 27 - July 3, 2016

Violation of Court Order / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
June 27 at 1:12 p.m., an officer stopped a driver for a vehicle code violation in the area of Grand and Foothill. The officer recognized the male and female subject in the vehicle from prior contacts and knew the female had a restraining order against the male. The male subject was arrested for violation of the court order. An inventory search of his property revealed drug paraphernalia, which was added to his charges.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
June 27 at 4:06 p.m., an officer on patrol in the area of Chestnut and Magnolia ran a computer check on a vehicle, which revealed a warrant for the registered owner, a male adult. The officer stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver for the warrant.
Vehicle Burglary
June 27 at 5:15 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 800 block of Alta Street. The victim locked his vehicle, and sometime during the early morning hours, someone broke into his vehicle by unknown means and stole several small items. The investigation is continuing.
Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
June 27 at 6:42 p.m., officers responded to the area of Mayflower and Huntington regarding a male and female having a dispute in a vehicle. The caller was following the vehicle and reported that the female attempted to jump out of the vehicle, but the male pulled her back inside. Officers arrived and stopped the vehicle in the 100 block of E. Lime. The female claimed they were having a verbal dispute. A search of the vehicle revealed controlled substances. The male driver was taken into custody for drug possession.
Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
June 28 at 1:46 a.m., an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The female driver did not have any means of identification, and both driver and passenger denied ownership of a backpack that was between the passenger's feet. Further investigation revealed methamphetamine in the backpack. The female driver was taken into custody for no means of identification and the passenger was arrested for possession of the methamphetamine.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
June 28 at 6:00 a.m., officers responded to the 300 block of Norumbega regarding the report of a suspicious male adult loitering near a property. Officers responded and contacted the male suspect, who was found to have a no-bail, parole warrant for his arrest. The suspect was arrested for the warrant.
Vehicle Vandalisms
June 28 at 7:36 a.m., officers were dispatched to the report of two separate vehicle vandalism incidents. One incident occurred in the 400 block of N. Encinitas and the other in the 1600 block of Venice. Unknown suspect(s) punched holes in the tires of the two vehicles sometime during the night. The investigation is continuing.
Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
June 28 at 10:15 a.m., officers responded to the 600 block of S. Shamrock on the report of a subject crawling on the ground acting bizarre. Officers contacted the male adult and determined he was under the influence of drugs. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Vehicle Burglary
June 28 at 3:37 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 100 block of N. Grand. The victim stated he parked and locked his work van across the street from his house. In the morning the victim discovered tools missing out of the back of the van. The investigation is continuing.
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
June 29 at 4:08 a.m., officers were on patrol in the area of Myrtle and Duarte when they saw a male subject jump off his bicycle and run into a fast food restaurant, where he attempted to hide a methamphetamine pipe. The suspect was arrested for possession of the pipe and released on a citation to appear in court.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
June 30 at 5:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington regarding a suspicious person inside the store who employees believed was attempting to shoplift merchandise. Officers located the suspect and a computer check revealed an outstanding warrant for her arrest. She was arrested for the warrant and held pending her court appearance. The shoplifting incident could not be substantiated.
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
June 30 at 10:52 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the 600 block of S. Shamrock when he noticed a group of male adults in a park who appeared nervous and suspicious. He contacted the subjects and a computer check of one of the males revealed he had a warrant for his arrest. During a search of his bags, a methamphetamine pipe was discovered. The male was arrested and taken into custody.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
July 1 at 2:42 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the area of Myrtle and Pomona when he saw an adult male and female standing in the middle of the street in traffic, arguing with each other. The female was upset because her boyfriend was too intoxicated to care for himself. The officer conducted field sobriety tests and arrested the male for being drunk in public.
Vehicle Burglary
July 1 at 7:40 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 700 block of W. Colorado. The victim parked and locked his work truck in front of his home and went in for the evening. When the victim returned to his vehicle in the morning, he found his door lock punched and tools stolen from his truck. The investigation is continuing.
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
July 1 at 4:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 900 block of S. Mayflower. A resident called to report his son and the son's girlfriend were smoking drugs in the bathroom of his home. Officers arrived and contacted the male and female. The investigation revealed the female had drug paraphernalia in her possession. She was arrested and taken into custody.
Driving Under the Influence / Non-Injury Traffic Collision – Suspect Arrested
July 2 at 3:12 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 800 block of W. Duarte when a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed with no headlights passed him. The officer attempted to catch up to the vehicle to stop it, however, he saw the vehicle crash into a light pole at Duarte Road and First Avenue in Arcadia. The male driver and female passenger were not injured. Arcadia police officers responded to investigate the collision, while Monrovia police officers conducted field sobriety tests on the driver. It was determined that the driver was too intoxicated to operate a motor vehicle safely and he was arrested for DUI.
Vandalism – Suspect Arrested
July 2 at 8:44 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Venice regarding a vandalism incident. The victim called to report their tires had been slashed. Further investigation revealed additional victims and one suspect was identified. The suspect was later arrested for the vandalism. He admitted to committing additional vandalisms in the area. The investigation is continuing.
Welfare Check
July 2 at 10:49 a.m., officers responded to the 900 block of Orange regarding a welfare check. The caller had not heard from his 80-year-old brother in a week. When officers arrived at the location, they were able to see a male subject on the floor inside the house. Officers forced entry into the residence and discovered the victim was alive, but disoriented. It appeared the victim had suffered a medical emergency and had been down on the floor for several days. The subject was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Hit and Run Traffic Collision
July 2 at 1:32 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of California and Lime regarding a hit and run traffic collision. The driver struck a parked vehicle and fled the scene. The area was checked, but the suspect was not located. The investigation is continuing.

July 2 at 5:20 p.m., an officer responded to a hit and run traffic collision that occurred in the 500 block of W. Huntington. The driver of the suspect vehicle struck a parked vehicle in a shopping center parking lot and fled the scene. The investigation is continuing.
Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance /Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
July 2 at 9:14 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the area of Huntington and Magnolia when he observed a female subject walk across the street against a red light. The subject was detained and determined to be under the influence of narcotics. While the officer was talking with the female, she dropped a methamphetamine pipe on the ground. She was arrested and taken into custody.

July 3 at 12:56 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Hurstview regarding a male subject that was standing in an alley screaming. Officers arrived and detained the subject. He was determined to be under the influence of narcotics and was arrested and taken into custody.

Highlighted Activity for April 4-6, 2016

Possession of a Controlled Substance/Warrant – Suspect Arrested
April 4 at 9:06 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 600 block of Montana regarding a subject in a resident’s backyard. The officer detained a subject near the residence that matched the description given. The subject claimed he was looking for a friend that was selling some type of musical equipment. A search of the subject revealed he was in possession of methamphetamine. The subject was coming from the wash area and was cutting through the resident’s backyard. A computer check revealed a no-bail warrant for a probation violation. He was arrested for the warrant and possession of methamphetamine.
Warrants – Suspects Arrested
April 4 at 12:44 p.m., officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence in the 200 block of N. Shamrock. When officers arrived, there was no answer at the door. Officers have responded to the residence numerous times regarding the female resident and her boyfriend. A computer check revealed an outstanding warrant for the female subject that lives at the residence and a no-bail warrant for her boyfriend.
Dispatch called the female resident on her cell phone. The female subject said she had been in an argument with her boyfriend on the phone, but she had left the house. The officer requested the Foothill Air Support Team helicopter because he believed both subjects were inside the residence, and the boyfriend has a history of running from the police. After talking to the female subject on the phone, she decided to open the door. The boyfriend was found hiding under a bed. Both subjects were arrested for the outstanding warrants and taken into custody.
Vehicle Burglary
April 4 at 9:25 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported at a business parking lot in the 700 block of E. Huntington. The victim arrived at the location and entered a business. When she was done, she went back out to her vehicle and discovered a window had been smashed and her purse and wallet were missing with charge cards and her drivers license in them. The investigation is continuing.
Injury Traffic Collision
April 5 at 6:33 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a traffic collison at Mountain, just south of Huntington. Two vehicles had collided into each other. The drivers in both vehicles sustained minor injuries. One driver was taken to a hospital to be examined.
Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
April 6 at 3:05 p.m., a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington called police to report a shoplifter. The male adult suspect entered the store, selected clothing and went into a fitting room. The subject put the selected clothing on and then put his own clothing back on over the stolen merchandise. The suspect left the location without paying for the merchandise. Officers conducted an area search, but did not located the suspect. About fifteen minutes later, he was seen walking on Huntington, but was now wearing the clothing he had stolen from the store. The suspect was detained and identified by store loss prevention. He was arrested and taken into custody without further incident.
Robbery – Suspect Arrested
April 6 at 3:09 p.m., a robbery was reported at a business in the 300 block of W. Huntington. A male adult entered a store and selected merchandise. The suspect tried to leave the store without paying for the merchandise. Several store employees tried to stop the suspect. The suspect pushed one employee to the ground and punched another. He was detained by store employees and customers, but managed to break away and flee the location. Officers located the suspect inside a nearby business. The suspect was positively identified by the victims. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody for robbery.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
April 7 at 12:15 a.m., a caller reported a suspicious vehicle with two subjects inside parked in a parking lot in the 100 block of Highland. Officers arrived and contacted the occupants. A computer check revealed the female occupant had a no-bail warrant for her arrest. She was arrested and taken into custody for the warrant.

Highlighted Activity for January 21-24, 2016


Grand Theft
January 22 at 1:38 p.m., a grand theft was reported at a residence in the 200 block of Greystone. The residents, an elderly couple, noticed the door to their wall safe was open. They inventoried the contents and found several pieces of jewelry were missing. The couple does have two subjects they have hired to help around the property, but do not know who may have taken the jewelry. The investigation is continuing.
Battery/Vandalism
January 22 at 10:56 p.m., officers responded to a business in the 900 block of South Magnolia regarding a battery that had just occurred. The suspect took his vehicle to have an audio entertainment system installed, but there was a dispute over the billing. The suspect pushed and struck the installer and the owner of the business. The installer sustained a swollen hand defending himself from the suspect. The owner sustained a swollen eye, and the suspect was taken to a hospital for complaint of pain. The investigation is continuing and the report will be submitted to the District Attorney’s office for possible filing of charges.
Driving Under the Influence of Drugs/Traffic Collision – Suspect Arrested
January 23 at 9:15 a.m., a traffic collision was reported in the 400 block of West Maple Avenue. The caller was following a vehicle that struck two parked cars and hit the curb while driving west on Maple. The vehicle pulled into a business parking lot near Fifth and Huntington and stopped. Officers arrived and found the suspect behind the wheel of his vehicle. He seemed disoriented and unaware of his surroundings. The officers determined the subject was driving under the influence of a controlled substance. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Theft From a Vehicle
January 23 at 6:45 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a business parking lot in the 400 block of Huntington regarding a theft from a vehicle. The victim parked his vehicle in front of a business and went inside. He returned 30 minutes later and saw a male adult suspect going through his trunk. He yelled out and the suspect fled in a vehicle. The loss was a backpack containing miscellaneous items. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary
January 23 at 8:19 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in 600 block of West Huntington. The victim parked his vehicle in a business parking lot and went into work. He returned later and discovered his vehicle had been ransacked. The victim's checkbook was taken from the center console and a backpack containing baseball equipment was taken from the trunk. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary
January 23 at 9:37 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 100 block of Colorado. The victim parked his vehicle in the 100 block of Colorado and went into work. When he returned to his vehicle after work, he discovered his vehicle had been ransacked. The loss was a wallet from the driver's door pocket, which also contained his debit card. The victim reported that the debit card had already been used at a business. The investigation is continuing.

Highlighted Activity for December 21-27, 2015


Vehicle Burglary
December 21 at 4:10 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 200 block of Poinsettia Avenue. The lock securing the doors on the bed of a utility truck were cut and miscellaneous power and cordless tools were taken. The investigation is continuing.
Public Intoxication/Warrant – Suspect Arrested
December 21 at 6:36 p.m., officers were dispatched to the rear of a business location in the 200 block of West Foothill regarding an ongoing problem of homeless persons sleeping on the property. A subject was located sleeping on the property. He was heavily intoxicated and unable to care for himself. A computer check revealed the subject also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was arrested, held for a sobering period, and later released with a citation to appear in court.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
December 21 at 8:49 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of East Olive regarding a family disturbance between a husband and wife. The husband was intoxicated, but agreed to sleep in his vehicle for the night. As the officers were about to leave, the husband became uncooperative. Due to his high level of intoxication, he was arrested for being drunk in public. He was held for a sobering period and later released on a citation to appear in court.
Vehicle Burglary
December 22 at 7:52 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 1300 block of South Alta Vista. The victim parked his vehicle in the carport of his secured apartment complex the night before. When he returned to his vehicle in the morning, he found the passenger window broken and his stereo missing. The investigation is continuing.
Driving Under the Influence Traffic Collision – Suspect Arrested
December 22 at 6:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of East Lemon regarding a traffic collision. The driver was traveling east on Lemon and reached for her
cell phone, causing her to veer to the right and hit a parked vehicle. The driver was determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested and her vehicle was impounded. She was held for a sobering period and later released with a citation to appear in court on the charges.
Driving Under the Influence Traffic Collision – Suspect Arrested
December 22 at 10:30 p.m., officers were sent to the area of Foothill and Norumbega regarding a traffic collision. The driver was traveling south on Norumbega and failed to stop at the posted stop sign at Foothill. His vehicle traveled across all four lanes of traffic and collided into a parked vehicle. The driver demonstrated symptoms of being intoxicated and was determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and his vehicle was impounded. The suspect was held for a sobering period and later released with a citation to appear in court.
Vehicle Burglary
December 23 at 7:52 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 1300 block of South Alta Vista. The victim left his vehicle parked in the carport of his secured apartment complex in the evening. When he returned to his vehicle the next morning, he found the passenger window shattered and his stereo had been taken. The investigation is continuing.
Domestic Violence
December 23 at 11:40 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of West Huntington on the report of an assault in progress. The subjects reportedly left the area on foot and headed south on Magnolia. Officers located the subjects in the 1400 block of South Magnolia. The subjects are boyfriend and girlfriend, and they were involved in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation. The female subject was arrested for domestic violence.
Weapon Offenses / Possession of Methamphetamine / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
December 25 at 4:34 a.m., officers on patrol initiated a traffic stop in the 200 block of East Colorado for a traffic violation. As a result of the stop, the driver of the vehicle was arrested for having a loaded pistol and narcotics in the vehicle.
Structure Fire/Arson
December 26 at 2:40 a.m., police and fire personnel responded to a structure fire at a private warehouse in the 300 block of West Chestnut used to store classic vehicles. Further investigation led officers to believe the fire began due to arson. One male adult family member was named as the suspect. The suspect committed suicide at his home in Glendale. The investigation is continuing.
Traffic Collision/Vehicle vs. Pedestrian
December 26 at 1:52 p.m., police responded to a traffic collision at Los Angeles & Ivy. A 12-year-old girl ran into the street and was struck by a vehicle. She sustained minor
injuries, but complained of pain to her neck and back. She was taken to a hospital by ambulance.
Vandalism
December 26 at 10:07 p.m., a vandalism incident was reported in the 500 block of Diamond. A resident in the area reported graffiti spray painted on the side of his house. The investigation is continuing.
Vandalism
December 26 at 10:34 p.m., officers located graffiti in the 1800 block of South Myrtle. The officers noticed fresh graffiti all throughout the parking lot, windows and walls of buildings. The investigation is continuing.
Fire Assist
December 26 at 11:38 p.m., officers responded to the report of a fire next to a residence in the 500 block of Normubega. An officer arrived and located a tree and a trashcan that were on fire. The officer put out the fire with the fire extinguisher from his police unit.

Highlighted Activity for October 26-28, 2015


Stolen Motorcycle
October 26 at 7:02 a.m., a motorcycle was reported stolen from the 500 block of East Almond Avenue. The victim parked his motorcycle at the end of his driveway, near his home. When he returned to it in the morning, it was gone. He did not hear anything unusual and had no idea who would have taken it. The motorcycle information was entered into the law enforcement stolen vehicle database. The investigation is continuing.
Residential Burglary
October 26 at 10:45 a.m., an officer responded to the report of a burglary in the 200 block of North Encinitas. The suspect made entry into the residence through an open window and stole a 16-week-old, Pitbull/Bullmastiff puppy. Several hours later, the victim received a call from the Pasadena Humane Society informing him that his dog had been located. The house had signs of a break-in. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft Auto
October 26 at 2:22 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 800 block of West Walnut Avenue. The victim listed the vehicle for sale on Craigslist. On October 24, a male suspect met with her to test drive the vehicle. The victim allowed the suspect to drive the vehicle and he has not returned. The vehicle information was entered into the law enforcement stolen vehicle database. The investigation is continuing.
Petty Theft
October 27 at 1:33 p.m., a resident in the 300 block of East Greystone Avenue called police to report she had a package stolen from her front porch. Two female Hispanic subjects were seen exiting a silver Honda Civic and removing a package from the porch. The investigation is continuing.
Stolen Vehicle
October 28 at 3:59 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 300 block of South Fifth Avenue. The resident parked and locked his car on the street in front of his house in the evening and went inside his home. He returned to his vehicle in the morning and
immediately saw it was missing. He did not give anyone permission to take his car, a 2003, 2-door, silver, Honda Accord.
Grand Theft
October 28 at 10:50 a.m., a grand theft was reported at a business in the 700 block of East Huntington Drive. An employee of the business reportedly sold expensive products from the business to a customer off of the books. The suspect then paid two other employees to keep quiet about the transaction they had witnessed. The suspect employee was fired and the police were called. Some of the product was returned. The investigation is continuing.
Injury Traffic Collision/Vehicle vs. Bicyclist
October 28 at 11:51 a.m., a female on a bicycle was struck by a vehicle in the area of Shamrock and Colorado. The bicyclist was traveling the same direction as the vehicle, veered into the lane of traffic and was struck. The impact was at a slow speed, as both parties were approaching a stop sign. The bicyclist fell to the ground and sustained lacerations and complained of pain to her neck. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
October 28 at 2:59 p.m., officers responded to the report of an erratic driver in the 600 block of West Huntington. They located the vehicle and the female driver parked in a business parking lot, taking up several spaces. After speaking with the subject, the officers determined she had been drinking. The driver complained of chest pains and was taken to a hospital, where she was cleared for booking. She was taken back to the Monrovia Police Department, where she was booked and held for sobering.
Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
October 29 at 3:36 a.m., a male adult walked into the Monrovia Police Department lobby and told the dispatcher he was turning himself in because he was under the influence of methamphetamine. An officer contacted the subject and after investigation, determined the subject was under the influence of a controlled substance. The officer arrested the subject and he was held for sobering.
Vehicle Burglary
October 29 at 4:35 a.m., a resident parked his car on the street in the 800 block of West Chestnut, locked the doors, and went into his apartment on Walnut. At 4:35 a.m., he went out to his car and discovered the driver-side window was shattered. His two jackets and iPad were taken from the front passenger seat. The investigation is continuing.

Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
October 22 at 3:20 p.m., an officer responded to a business in the 500 block of West Huntington regarding a shoplifter in custody. The suspect was seen removing price tags and placing lower-cost price tags on the items. He then attempted to purchase the items at the lower cost. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody. He was later released on a citation to appear in court on the charges.
Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
October 23 at 7:20 p.m., Special Enforcement Team officers were patrolling in the 200 block of East Duarte and contacted a subject. The subject was found to be in possession of a methamphetamine pipe. They arrested the suspect for the violation.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
October 23 at 9:19 p.m., Special Enforcement Team officers were on patrol in the 700 block of East Olive when they contacted a subject who had two warrants out for his arrest. The suspect was arrested per the authority of the warrants and taken into custody.
Stolen Motorcycle
October 24 at 7:51 a.m., a resident called to report his motorcycle had been stolen from the 700 block of South Myrtle. The motorcycle is a 2016, red, Ducati. The theft occurred sometime between October 23 at 8:40 p.m. and October 24 at 7:30 a.m. The investigation is continuing.
Drunk in Public – Suspect Arrested
October 24 at 6:49 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of West Palm on the report of a fight in progress. Upon police arrival, the fight had stopped and some of the involved subjects were gone. One of the subjects remaining at the location was contacted and determined to be intoxicated to the point of not being able to care for his own safety. The subject was arrested and taken into custody for being drunk in public. He was held for sobering.
Drunk in Public – Suspect Arrested
October 24 at 10:01 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 200 block of West Foothill regarding a subject causing a disturbance. The subject was determined to be intoxicated to the point of not being able to care for his own safety. He was arrested and held for sobering.
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol – Suspect Arrested
October 25 at 2:15 a.m., a driver was stopped heading south on Myrtle for traveling at a high rate of speed. The driver was determined to be intoxicated. The driver indicated he was drinking at a relative’s house prior to being stopped. He was arrested and taken into custody. He was held for sobering and later released on a citation to appear in court.
Felony Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol – Suspect Arrested
October 25 at 3:09 a.m., officers were dispatched to an injury traffic collision in the 100 block of East Evergreen. The investigation revealed one of the drivers was intoxicated and rear-ended the other vehicle, which was legally stopped and waiting for the signal light to turn green. The victim complained of pain to her neck. The victim was treated at the scene by Monrovia Fire Department paramedics and taken to a local hospital by ambulance. The intoxicated driver was arrested. He was held pending the court appearance date.
Residential Burglary
October 25 at 6:15 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of East Cherry regarding a residential burglary. The suspects entered the home by breaking a window. The loss appears to be money and jewelry. The investigation is continuing.

Highlighted Activity for October 12-14, 2015


Warrant Arrest
October 13 at 12:35 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 500 block of West Huntington when he saw a male adult subject to the rear of a closed business digging in the trash. He stopped and contacted the subject. A computer check revealed three warrants for the subject’s arrest, with the highest bail set at $40,000 for a drug charge. The warrants were confirmed and the subject was arrested and taken into custody.
Possession of a Controlled Substance/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspects Arrested
October 13 at 7:53 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Santa Anita Wash at the railroad tracks on the report of two suspicious males loitering in the area. When officers arrived, they contacted two homeless adult male subjects. During a pat-down search for the officer's safety, a syringe and methamphetamine was found on one of the subjects and a pipe for smoking methamphetamine was found on the other. Both subjects were arrested and taken into custody.
Warrant/Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
October 15 at 2:17 a.m., an officer responded to a business parking lot in the 1600 block of Mountain on the report of a suspicious male subject walking through the parking lot, picking up discarded receipts, as well as digging them out of the trash. Officers arrived and located the subject, who was in possession of several receipts printed from the business that day, possibly to fraudulently claim he was returning an item with a receipt. A computer check revealed a warrant for the subject’s arrest; he was arrested and taken into custody. The suspect attempted to hide methamphetamine in the backseat of the police car. The suspect was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Driving Under the Influence/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspects Arrested
October 15 at 2:46 a.m., an occupied suspicious vehicle was reported in the 600 block of North Canyon with its engine running. Officers arrived and found a male and female sitting in the car. The female appeared to be trying to hide something under her seat when the officers approached the vehicle. The driver had a pipe for smoking methamphetamine sitting next to him and was showing signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Both occupants were removed from the vehicle and field sobriety tests were conducted on the driver. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. A search of the vehicle revealed a syringe that the female was attempting to hide, as well as burglary tools. The female subject was also arrested and both were taken into custody.

Highlighted activity 9/7-10/2015


Attempt Burglary
September 7 at 6:09 a.m., an attempt burglary was reported at a business in the 800 block of West Huntington Drive. The manager phoned to report the south service door appeared tampered with when he arrived for work. Officers responded and cleared the building. No suspects were located and nothing was reported missing, but the service door had visible pry marks. The investigation is continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
September 7 at 8:25 a.m., an officer responded to a park in the 900 block of South California regarding a female subject causing a disturbance. Officers responded and located a female matching the description in the park. They contacted the subject and determined she was intoxicated. She also had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. She was arrested for the warrant and taken into custody.
Theft From a Vehicle
September 7 at 2:23 p.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 900 block of Genoa Street. The victim heard a noise coming from the area where his truck was parked in his driveway. He looked over his backyard fence and observed a male adult removing tools from the bed of his truck. The subject realized he had been seen and fled to his nearby vehicle and left the area with several stolen items. The victim described the suspect vehicle as a white, standard-size truck. The investigation is continuing.
Burglary-This is our street folks
September 7 at 4:46 p.m., a residential burglary was reported in the 200 block of Poinsettia Avenue. The victim left his residence for approximately one hour, and when he returned, he saw that someone had kicked in the door to his residence. Officers arrived, cleared the residence, looked for evidence and conducted their investigation. A handgun and some cash was stolen from the residence. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary
September 8 at 1:57 p.m., an officer responded to the report of a vehicle burglary at a business parking lot in the 100 block of West Huntington. A male suspect shattered the window of a work van that was parked in the parking lot. He reached into the van and removed a GPS device. The suspect then ran to a gold Oldsmobile sedan and left the scene. The suspect is described as a male White. The owner of the van was located and the investigation is continuing.
Warrants/Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspects Arrested
September 8 at 4:00 p.m., an officer observed two male subjects arguing at the corner of Olive and Myrtle. Officers stopped to investigate and, during their investigation, discovered one of the subjects had two outstanding warrants for his arrest and the second subject was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Both suspects were arrested and taken into custody.

Highlighted Activity for September 3-6, 2015


Possession of Methamphetamine/No-Bail Warrant – Suspect Arrested
September 3 at 7:04 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a business parking lot in the 500 block of  est Huntington Drive on the report of a suspicious male subject. Upon arrival, the suspect was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a pipe used for smoking methamphetamine. The suspect also had a no-bail warrant for his arrest. The officer arrested the suspect and took him into custody.
Residential Burglary/Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Suspect Arrested
September 3 at 7:53 p.m., two male subjects were involved in an argument in front of a residence in the 200 block of West Walnut. The suspect pulled a large tire chain from the backseat of his vehicle and chased the victim to his apartment. The victim ran inside his home and locked the door behind him. The suspect hit the door with his body, broke through the door and entered the victim’s apartment. He struck the victim several times with the chain, causing him to fall to the ground. The victim had visible injuries, but declined medical treatment. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody. He was held pending his court appearance date.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered
September 4 at 12:45 p.m., a parking control officer located a vehicle with paper plates that was illegally parked in the 200 block of South Madison. The parking control officer used the vehicle identification number to identify the registered owner and found the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Riverside. Paper plates were covering a license plate that did not belong to the vehicle. The vehicle was recovered and the investigation is continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
September 4 at 7:13 p.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of Stedman regarding a disturbing subject. Upon contacting and identifying the subject, it was discovered that he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The suspect was arrested for the warrant and taken into custody.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
September 4 at 10:10 p.m., officers on patrol in the 1900 block of South Peck Road stopped a motorist for a vehicle code violation. Upon contacting the occupants, the driver was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and taken into custody. He was held for sobering.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
September 5 at 2:20 a.m., an officer on patrol in the area of Huntington and Myrtle stopped a motorist for a vehicle code violation. He contacted the occupants and determined both to be under the influence of alcohol. The passenger was found to be intoxicated to the point of needing medical treatment. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence, taken into custody and held for sobering. The passenger was taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment.
Grand Theft
September 6 at 9:43 a.m., a grand theft was reported in the 800 block of West Walnut. The victim phoned police to report the tailgate to his Toyota Tacoma had been stolen and the suspects replaced it with an older one. The investigation is continuing.
Receiving Stolen Property/Delaying and Obstructing a Peace Officer/Possession of Burglary Tools/Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
September 6 at 10:04 a.m., officers responded to a burglary alarm at a business in the 1900 block of South Walker Avenue. When officers arrived, they saw a male suspect on a bicycle carrying a large spool of wiring, a circular saw, a sealed box, and he was wearing a backpack. When the officers approached, the suspect dropped his bike and fled on foot through the parking lot. He began to drop the items he was carrying, including the backpack. He sustained a laceration on his leg jumping a fence as he was fleeing.
Officers followed the suspect in their vehicles until he stopped and then detained him. The suspect did not have a valid answer as to how he obtained the property, some of which was later discovered to be stolen. He was treated on scene, but refused additional medical treatment. He was arrested and taken into custody. A search of the suspect revealed two baggies of methamphetamine found on his person and burglary tools were found in his backpack.
Burglary
September 6 at 2:35 p.m., the manager of a business in the 600 block of West Huntington phoned to report two females were seen stealing merchandise and then attempting to return the stolen merchandise for a refund. When they were confronted by the manager, they became argumentative and spit in the manager’s face. The females left the store without a refund or the merchandise. The manager followed them to their vehicle and took pictures of the vehicle and the license plate. He then called police. The investigation is continuing.
Petty Theft
September 6 at 4:12 p.m., a business in the 600 block of West Huntington called police to report a male suspect who was seen leaving the store with a child’s car seat without
paying for the item. The suspect got into a vehicle and left the area. The investigation is continuing.

Highlighted Activity for August 31 – September 2, 2015

Warrant – Suspect Arrested
August 31 at 9:02 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the area of Longden and Myrtle when he saw a female he recognized at a gas station. He knew the female had an outstanding warrant. A computer check confirmed the warrant, which was issued out of Orange County. The officer contacted the female; she was arrested and taken into custody for the warrant.
Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Possession of Marijuana / Warrant – Suspects Arrested
September 1 at 9:44 p.m., an officer observed an illegally parked vehicle occupied by two females in the 2600 block of South Myrtle. A DMV computer check of the license plate revealed the registered owner had a suspended driver's license and an outstanding warrant for her arrest. As the officer was checking the plate, the females drove away in the vehicle.
The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and found the registered owner was the passenger and her friend was driving the vehicle without a license. The driver was issued a citation for driving without a license and during an inventory search of the vehicle prior to storing it, several pipes used for smoking methamphetamine were found, along with 60 grams of marijuana. Both suspects were arrested and taken into custody.

Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
August 27 at 10:10 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the area of Myrtle and Central when he stopped a  otorist for multiple vehicle code violations. The officer conducted a consensual search of the vehicle and found a baggie of methamphetamine. The driver was arrested and charged for possession of a controlled substance and the vehicle code violations.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
August 28 at 1:29 a.m., an officer stopped a motorist for a vehicle code violation in the 200 block of South Ivy. The investigation determined the subject was driving under the influence of alcohol. The subject was arrested and taken into custody.

August 28 at 2:46 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the area of Longden and Live Oak when he stopped a motorist for a vehicle code violation. The investigation revealed the subject was driving under the influence of alcohol. The subject was arrested and taken into custody.
Traffic Collision
August 30 at 6:06 a.m., a traffic accident was reported in the 500 block of East Foothill. Officers arrived and saw five parked vehicles that had been struck. The driver of the vehicle that struck them had fallen asleep at the wheel.

Highlighted Activity for August 24-26, 2015

Recovered Stolen Vehicle
On August 24 at 7:53 a.m., an officer responded to the parking lot of a business in the 2100 block of South Myrtle regarding a suspicious vehicle. The officer located the unoccupied vehicle. A computer check revealed the vehicle was a reported stolen from Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department. The workers at the business said the vehicle has been parked there, undisturbed, for several days. The registered owner was contacted and the vehicle was turned over to him.
Vehicle Vandalism
On August 24 at 12:02 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 700 block of West Huntington regarding a subject kicking a vehicle. The reporting party observed the subject throw a rock through one of the vehicle’s windows. Officers responded and spoke with the reporting party. The subject was gone when officers arrived. The reporting party said the subject appeared to have been recently released from a hospital and was rambling while disturbing the vehicle. It was later discovered a subject matching this person's description had walked away from a hospital. We were unable to locate the owner of the vehicle and have not been able to identify the suspect. The investigation is continuing.
Violation of Gang Injunction Court Order – Suspect Arrested
On August 24 at 12:04 a.m., a traffic stop was conducted in the 300 block of West Maple. The driver and passenger were found to be on probation for drugs and the driver had previously been served with a gang injunction court order prohibiting him from being out on the streets of Monrovia past 10:00 pm. The driver was arrested for violating the court order.
Attempt Robbery
On August 25 at 3:34 a.m., officer responded to the 800 block of West Duarte regarding an attempted robbery that had occurred 30 minutes prior. The victim said while standing outside his apartment complex smoking, he was approached by two males, who requested a cigarette. Both subjects then started patting down the victim’s pockets. The suspects both punched the victim and one suspect pulled out a knife and cut the victim three times across his forearms. The victim fled into his apartment complex and the suspects did not pursue him. The victim did not require medical attention due to the injuries only being superficial scratches. The investigation is continuing.
Assault - Suspect Arrested
On August 25 at 8:39 a.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of East Fig regarding an assault. The parent of two adult children (son and daughter) were fighting inside their home. She reported the argument had become physical. Officers responded and discovered the female had sustained a laceration on her head when her brother struck her with a wooden tray. The mother confirmed the incident and the suspect admitted to striking his sister. He was arrested for assault and taken into custody.
Commercial Burglary
On August 25 at 12:38 p.m., dispatch received a call from a business owner in the 100 block of South Myrtle reporting a burglary that occurred between the hours of 10:00 p.m., to 10:00 a.m. today. There were pry marks on the front doors and the loss was extensive. The business has no cameras or alarm system. Neighboring businesses were contacted and video was reviewed. The investigation is continuing.
Petty Theft
On August 25 at 1:10 p.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of South Myrtle regarding a theft. A suspect had just walked out of a business carrying the victim’s purse. The victim contacted the subject and he gave her the purse back. He did not have a legitimate or plausible reason for having the purse. The suspect was gone when officers arrived. Through investigation, the officers created a photo lineup that identified the suspect.
Receiving Stolen Property – Suspect Arrest
On August 26 at 10:49 p.m., officers observed a suspicious occupied vehicle in the 100 block of West Walnut. As the officers watched from a distance, they saw the subjects drive to the 100 block east Walnut and enter a condominium complex’s parking lot, where thefts have occurred recently. After a few minutes, one of the vehicles, a U-Hall truck exited the structure and the officer stopped the vehicle to investigate. The driver was on probation for theft, which allowed for a search of the vehicle. During the search the officer found mail not belonging to the driver, but instead to victim of a burglary in the city of Covina and La Puente. The mail had been stolen out of the victim’s vehicles. The driver was arrested for being in possession of stolen property and taken into custody.
Possession of Methamphetamine and a Smoking Pipe – Suspect Arrested
On August 26 at 11:25 p.m., an officer observed a suspicious vehicle in the 100 block of west Walnut. He saw the vehicle commit a traffic violation, so he stopped it at Chestnut and Primrose. The male driver did not have any driver’s license or identification. A misdemeanor in California. The officer found the driver to be in possession of methamphetamine and a smoking pipe. The driver was arrested for the violations and taken into custody.

Non-Injury Traffic Collision
On June 18 at 7:02 p.m., officers were dispatched to a non-injury traffic collision in the area of Primrose and Huntington. The investigation revealed one of the drivers failed to yield and pulled out in front of on coming traffic. Both vehicles were damaged and a city owned traffic control sign.
Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
On June 18 at 10:03 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of East Huntington regarding a male subject trying to get into parked cars. The officer arrived and located the subject. The investigation revealed the male was under the influence of a controlled substance and he was arrested.
Violation of Court Order – Suspect Arrested
On June 18 at 10:16 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 600 block of East Olive regarding a restraining order violation. The subject, who was released from County Jail earlier that day, took a cab to his parent’s house, where a valid restraining order is in force. A family member who feared for his safety called police and the violator was contacted and arrested.
Stolen/Vehicle Recovered
On June 19 at 8:04 a.m., an officer on routine patrol was driving through a parking lot in the 400 block of West Huntington Drive. He observed a 1998, gray Honda Civic parked in the parking stall near the rear alley. A computer check revealed the vehicle was a reported stolen out of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Walnut Station. There was no sign of forced entry and the owner was notified.
Burglary Commercial
On June 19 at 8:06 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a school in the 800 block of West Colorado regarding a burglary investigation. The reporting party was contacted and stated the shed was left locked and secured. Upon returning, he found the lock latch had been pried away from the shed and all their tools and gardening equipment were stolen. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary
On June 19 at 2:46 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 200 block of West Lemon. The victim parked her vehicle and rolled up the windows, but unsure if she locked the doors. When she returned the following morning she saw that the interior appeared ransacked and her laptop computers, checkbook and vehicle registration were missing. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft
On June 19 at 3:09 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the northeast corner lot at Primrose and Pomona regarding a theft. The victim parked his vehicle on May 30 and returned to his vehicle 2 hours later. He turned his ignition on and immediately heard a loud sound. The victim exited his vehicle and examined the rear end, discovering his catalytic converter was stolen. The investigation is continuing.
Petty Theft – Suspect Arrested
On June 20 at 11:13 a.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of West Foothill regarding a theft. A male subject entered a grocery store and put a bag of disposable razors in his pocket. He ran out of the store without paying for the merchandise. Officers searched for the male and located him at the corner of Magnolia and Huntington. A field show-up was conducted and the male was positively identified as the shoplifter. He was placed under private person’s arrest, and transported to the
Monrovia Jail, where he was booked. He was still in possession of the razors, which were returned to the store.
Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Methamphetamine / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
On June 20 at 8:00 a.m., an officer stopped a vehicle and contacted the driver. Upon contacting the subject a strong smell of marijuana emitted from the vehicle. Further investigation revealed the subject is on probation for drug related violations. A search of the vehicle revealed a small amount of marijuana. The subject admitted to having syringes in his possession. Also found in his possession was Methamphetamine and Heroine. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol – Suspect Arrested
On June 20 at 12:10 p.m., dispatch received a call reporting three subjects drinking in a vehicle at Shamrock/Huntington. The vehicle left before officers arrived. The vehicle was spotted and stopped on Huntington near Myrtle. The driver, a 19-year-old male, was determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol and was arrested and taken into custody.

On June 21 at 4:00 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the area of Central and Myrtle. The driver was determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol and was arrested and taken into custody.

Highlighted Activity for May 28-31, 2015

Vehicle Burglary
May 29 at 2:45 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 900 block of West Huntington. The victim's vehicle was parked and locked in a parking stall. Unknown suspect(s) smashed the victim's passenger window and removed property that was left on the front passenger seat. The investigation is continuing.
Bear Incident
May 29 at 10:03 a.m., and officer responded to a residence in the 800 block of Wildrose regarding a bear. The homeowner saw a bear rip the metal screen off of the crawl space under her house, but didn't know if the bear had crawled inside the space. The officer checked the crawl space and the surrounding area, but the bear was gone from the location.
Bear Incident
May 29 at 2:44 p.m., a resident in the 800 block of East Foothill called police and reported a bear swimming in the backyard pool of the home. An officer arrived and saw a juvenile bear in the backyard. He attempted to get the bear to move back into the foothills, however, it wouldn't leave the area. The officer then deployed two beanbag rounds at the bear, which successfully influenced the bear to return to the foothills.
Bear Incident
May 29 at 3:14 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Crescent on the report of a very large bear in a resident's backyard, but when officers arrived, the bear was gone. Callers began reporting the bear walking along Hillcrest. Officers responded to Hillcrest and located the bear in a backyard at the base of a large tree. They discovered her two cubs at the top of the tree. The mother began walking toward the officers, so two beanbags rounds were deployed at her, causing her to run away from the officers. She jumped a fence into another yard and then couldn't be found. The Department of Fish and Wildlife responded and stayed in the area until the cubs came down out of the tree to reunite with their mother and they all returned to the foothills.
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol – Suspect Arrested
May 29 at 8:25 p.m., a non-injury traffic collision was reported in the 800 block of Monterey. The investigation revealed that one of the motorists was driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested, taken into custody, and held for sobering.
Unlicensed Driver / Incident Report – Suspect Arrested 
May 30 at 1:17 a.m., an officer stopped a motorist for a vehicle code violation. Further investigation revealed the motorist was an unlicensed driver and was found to be in possession of documents containing other people’s social security numbers. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody. The officer determined the suspect was using the social security numbers for employment purposes. The investigation is continuing and the report will be forward to the IRS to protect potential victims from receiving IRS penalties for unreported income.
Warrant Arrest
May 30 at 2:02 a.m., an officer was on patrol and stopped a motorist for a vehicle code violation in the area of Peck and Emery. The officer discovered the motorist had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The warrant was issued by the El Monte Police Department. The officer arrested the suspect for the warrant and El Monte police officers responded to the Monrovia jail and took custody of the suspect.

Suspect Arrested
May 30 at 9:38 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a business in the 500 block of West Huntington Drive regarding suspicious subjects loitering behind a store. When the officer arrived, he contacted the subjects and determined one of them, a female, was under the influence of methamphetamine. She was also found to be in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine and a glass methamphetamine pipe. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Possession of Metal Knuckles / Minors in Possession of Alcohol – Suspects
Arrested
May 30 at 11:04 p.m., an officer was patrolling the 200 block of East Olive when he noticed two suspicious subjects loitering in the alley. The officer attempted to contact the subjects and they ran from him. The officer eventually found the subjects hiding  behind a vehicle and discovered they were minors that were consuming alcohol. The officer also found metal knuckles beneath the vehicle where the juveniles were hiding. The juveniles were arrested and released on citations to their parents.
Armed Robbery
June 1 at 2:03 a.m., officers responded to the 400 block of South Myrtle on the report of a robbery that had just occurred. The female victim reported she had been robbed approximately 15 minutes prior at the intersection of Myrtle and Huntington. She told the officers she had left a bar in the 400 block of South Myrtle and had walked to Huntington and Myrtle alone. A red Chevrolet Camaro drove up next to her and stopped. A male passenger exited the vehicle, pointed a black handgun at her and demanded she give him her purse. The victim refused, so the suspect grabbed the purse and they began to struggle with it. She told him to take everything except her phone. The male driver then leaned over the passenger seat, pointed another gun at the victim, and ordered the other suspect to shoot her.
Distracted, the purse was pulled from the victim's grasp and its contents fell onto the ground. The suspect began picking up the contents and putting it back into the purse. The female picked up her phone. Once all the contents were back in the purse, the suspect walked up to the female and grabbed her phone. Both suspects then fled in the vehicle west on Huntington. Officers searched the area

Highlighted Activity for March 19-22, 2015

Residential Burglary
March 19 at 12:00 p.m., a resident in the 700 block of Norumbega left his home, possibly leaving the front door unlocked. At 1:00 p.m., he received a call from the housekeeper, who had just arrived at his home and told him the home appeared to have been burglarized. The resident responded, confirmed his home had been burglarized, and immediately called the police. The resident believed the only thing taken was an unspecified amount of cash. The investigation is continuing.
Outstanding Warrants – Suspect Arrested
March 19 at 11:30 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the 800 block of East Olive when he saw a suspicious male loitering in the area. The officer contacted the suspect and a computer check revealed he had two no-bail warrants for his arrest. The suspect was arrested for the warrants and taken into custody.
Possession of a Stun Gun – Juvenile Arrested
March 20 at 1:15 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the high school in the 800 block of West Colorado regarding a 15-year-old, male student being detained for possessing a stun gun on campus. The stun gun appeared to be a cell phone; however, it had no phone capabilities. When you push the volume button, the top of the phone shoots out an electrical volt that could temporarily incapacitate someone. The student said he found the stun gun on the ground at school and decided to keep it. He was arrested and later released to his parents with a citation to appear in court.
Stalking – Suspect Arrested
March 20 at 8:48 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of East Lime regarding a vandalism incident. The officer contacted the victim and learned that over the past several days, the victim has reported annoying/harassing phone calls, threatening phone messages, and vandalism to her residence. A domestic violence restraining order had been obtained against the suspect, who is the victim's exboyfriend and father of their 2-year-old child. The victim was interviewed and a stalking case was documented against the suspect.
On March 22, an officer was conducting extra patrol in the area, due to the victim’s fear of the suspect, and just as the victim arrived home from work, the suspect ran a posted  stop sign near the victim’s home, abruptly stopped in front of her residence and began yelling at her. He was detained by the officer and arrested. The case will be presented to the DA for filing consideration.
Drunk in Public – Suspect Arrested
March 20 at 11:10 p.m., an officer responded to a business in the 100 block of West Duarte Road regarding a subject causing a disturbance. The officer arrived and discovered the male subject was intoxicated to the point of not being able to care for his own safety. The subject was arrested for public Intoxication and taken into custody, where he was held for sobering.
Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance / Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
March 21 at 12:15 p.m., the California Highway Patrol requested assistance searching for a vehicle that had collided on the 210 Freeway and then fled. Officers located a similar vehicle with collision damage parked in a business parking lot at Huntington and Monterey, near the 210 Freeway. The vehicle had paper license plates and was occupied by one male subject in the driver's seat. A DMV computer check revealed the registration was expired over 6 months. The male subject was also determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance.
The CHP advised that the vehicle was not the one involved in the collision, but the male subject was arrested for being under the influence of a narcotic. A pat-down search revealed he was in possession of a vial containing a liquid, which later tested positive for PCP. A search of the suspect’s duffel bag also revealed a bag of methamphetamine. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Felon in Possession of Pepper Spray – Suspect Arrested
March 22 at 2:29 a.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 300 block of Huntington regarding a suspicious male subject inside a business holding a box cutter. Officers responded and contacted the subject inside the location. The suspect was holding a box cutter and pepper spray. The suspect was asked to exit the location and put down the box cutter and pepper spray; he complied. The computer check revealed the subject is a convicted felon and cannot be in possession of any type of tear gas. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Hit and Run Traffic Collision
March 22 at 4:34 a.m., police dispatch received a call reporting a traffic collision in the 300 block of South Canyon. Officers responded and located debris in the area and a parked vehicle that appeared to have been struck by a passing vehicle. The suspect vehicle was not located. The investigation is continuing.
Suspicious Circumstance / Resisting or Delaying a Peace Officer
March 22 at 10:25 p.m., officers made a traffic stop on a vehicle at Myrtle and Huntington for a vehicle code violation. As they stopped the vehicle, a male passenger fled from the vehicle carrying a backpack. Assisting officers searched for the subject, but did not locate him. The driver was cited for possession of marijuana. A resident called a short time later and reported finding a backpack in his yard which matched the name the driver gave for the passenger. The backpack contained a 22 caliber magazine

Resisting and Delaying a Peace Officer / Grand Theft / No-Bail Warrant – Suspect
Arrested
February 16 at 7:06 p.m., a bicycle was stolen from the front of a business in the 100 block of East Olive. Officers responded to the area and located the suspect riding the bicycle. When the suspect noticed the patrol cars, he immediately rode in the opposite direction. As the suspect was riding, he began taking off his outer garments in an attempt to confuse the officers. One of the officers was able to stop the suspect, but he attempted to flee and tried to hide behind a retaining wall. The suspect would not comply with the officer’s commands until other officers arrived to assist. He was then
taken into custody without incident. The suspect also had an outstanding no-bail warrant issued for his arrest, which was added to his charges.

Suspect Arrested
February 16 at 11:05 p.m., an officer on patrol observed a suspicious male subject riding a bicycle in a park in the 600 block of South Shamrock. When the subject noticed the police vehicle, he rode in the opposite direction, and the officer lost sight of the subject as he went around a corner. The officer searched the area, found the subject and contacted him. As a result of the investigation, the subject was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. The subject was arrested and taken into custody.
Grand Theft Auto / Vehicle Burglary
February 17 at 6:34 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from an apartment complex in the 100 block of West Olive. The vehicle taken was a black, 4-door, 1995 Toyota Avalon. During the investigation, an officer discovered a vehicle parked in a nearby alley with the driver's side window down and the steering column damaged, with wires exposed. The owner of the vehicle lives in same complex as the victim of the stolen vehicle. The owner was contacted and confirmed his GPS system was stolen from the vehicle.
 It appears the suspect attempted to steal the vehicle, but couldn’t get the vehicle started. It is unknown if the crimes were committed by the same suspect. The investigation is continuing.
Bicycle Theft
February 17 at 7:19 p.m., a bicycle was reported stolen from the 800 block of South Primrose. The victim parked his truck in front of the location and walked into a building. He left his bicycle in the bed of his truck; it was tied down, but not locked. When he returned to his truck about an hour later, the bicycle was gone. The bicycle is described as a black, 16-speed, street bike, with a sticker on the frame with red and white lettering on it. The investigation is continuing.
Hit and Run Traffic Collision – Suspects Arrested
February 17 at 7:41 p.m., a vehicle exited the 210 Freeway at Myrtle and Evergreen at a high rate of speed. The vehicle jumped the curb, went up on the sidewalk and hit a gas station sign. The occupants of the vehicle all exited and fled. Police dispatch received numerous calls reporting the location of the suspects. Two of them were pointed out to responding officers by witnesses and were arrested.
The driver of the vehicle was not initially located. An area check was being made, when dispatch received calls reporting a male subject running on the freeway, approaching Mountain. An officer responded and detained the suspect at gunpoint until backup arrived. The suspect was determined to be extremely intoxicated, and he admitted to being the driver of the vehicle involved in the hit and run. He was arrested and taken into custody.

Littering – Suspect Arrested
February 18 at 8:37 a.m., a resident reported a suspicious male subject emptying the contents of a bag onto the sidewalk in the area of Melrose and Foothill. The contents of the bag appeared more likely to belong to a female, according to the reporting party. Officers responded and contacted the subject.
After investigation, the officer determined the subject had not stolen anything and was in possession of his own property; however, he was in possession of a usable quantity of methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe. In addition, the officer observed him walking away from trash he had dumped on the sidewalk prior to making contact with him. He was arrested for drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and for littering.
Assault
February 18 at 3:22 p.m., a gas company employee was parked in his marked vehicle and in uniform, when a resident in the 500 block of East Los Angeles drove up in his vehicle and verbally confronted him about parking in the space on the public street. The resident was very agitated and said the space was his. He proceeded to use verbal obscenities toward the gas company employee and then swerved his vehicle toward him to intimidate him. He then parked his car and walked toward his home, intentionally bumping into the gas company employee as he passed, continuing to berate him
verbally.
An officer was requested, but the suspect left the location before the officer arrived. As the officers were not able to speak directly to the suspect, the investigation will continue and a verified complaint with the District Attorney’s Office may be filed. The investigation is continuing.

Highlighted Activity for December 18-28, 2014

Residential Burglary
December 18 at 6:14 p.m., a resident in the 400 block of East Cypress called police to report his home had been burglarized. The victim reported that he left his residence in the morning with all doors and windows locked. He returned home in the evening and found his residence had been broken into and ransacked. It appears the suspect(s) forced entry through the kitchen door by prying it open with some type of tool. The suspect(s) ransacked the house and left back out through the kitchen door. The only loss appears to be a laptop computer. The investigation is continuing.
Identity Theft / Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspects Arrested
December 19 at 11:30 a.m., an officer responded to a hotel in the 900 block of South Fifth Avenue on the report of a subject using a fraudulent credit card to rent a room. The investigation revealed the two suspects in the room were in possession of several credit  cards and mail belonging to possible victims, fraudulent DMV identification cards, and methamphetamine. Both suspects were arrested and held, pending their court appearance.
Identity Theft / Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
December 19 at 2:14 p.m., an officer was sent to a hotel in the 900 block of South Fifth Avenue in reference to a fraud investigation. The investigation revealed the suspect in the room was in possession of several credit cards and mail belonging to possible victims. The suspect was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine and heroin. The suspect was arrested and held, pending his court appearance.

December 19 at 7:55 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Tenth and El Norte for a vehicle code violation. Upon investigation, he discovered the driver had two outstanding warrants. The subject was arrested and taken into custody for the warrants.

December 20 at 2:07 a.m., a vehicle was observed by officers being driven erratically in the area of Evergreen and Myrtle. The driver was stopped and was determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and taken into custody.

December 20 at 5:10 a.m., officers on patrol in the area of Duarte and Mayflower observed a male subject who appeared to be loitering near several vehicles. The officers contacted the subject and discovered he had an outstanding warrant; he was arrested and taken into custody.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
December 21 at 2:15 a.m., an officer on patrol in the area of Magnolia and Huntington stopped a driver for a vehicle code violation. After investigation, the driver was determined to be driving under the influence. The driver was arrested and taken into custody.

December 21 at 3:15 a.m., an officer observed a driver make several vehicle code violations near Myrtle and Central. The officer stopped the driver, and after investigating, determined the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and taken into custody.
Commercial Burglary
December 22 at 7:24 a.m., a commercial burglary was reported at a business in the 200 block of East Foothill. Suspect(s) possibly entered the business with a key or through an unlocked door and forced open a safe. The suspects took cash from the safe, a computer system, two hard drives and iPads. Later in the shift, the victim called and reported a credit card had also been taken from the business and was used at a Walmart. The investigation is continuing.
Bicycle Theft / Possession of Burglary Tools – Suspect Arrested
December 22 at 11:22 p.m., officers were dispatched to the report of a bicycle theft in the 400 block of East Duarte Road. While responding to the area, the officers observed the suspect riding the stolen bike. The subject was stopped and detained. The subject was in possession of a backpack, which was found to contain cutting pliers. The suspect claimed he was given the bike, but admitted to cutting the lock on the bicycle. He was arrested for the theft and possession of burglary tools.
Domestic Violence / Criminal Threats – Suspect Arrested
December 23 at 12:46 p.m., officers responded to the report of possible domestic violence at a residence in the 1300 block of South Alta Vista. Upon arrival, they located a female subject with visible injuries. Further investigation revealed the female subject’s boyfriend had punched her in the back of the head during an argument. The female attempted to call the police from her cell phone. The suspect threw her on the ground, started kicking her, and threatened to kill her. The suspect was arrested for domestic violence and criminal threats.
Possession of Methamphetamine – Suspect Arrested
December 23 at 9:36 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 100 block of West Palm regarding possible drug activity going on around the park area. Upon investigation, officers located and arrested a 58-year-old male subject for sales of methamphetamine. The suspect was in possession of a backpack containing methamphetamine packaged in small baggies.
Mail Theft
December 24 at 2:35 a.m., a resident in the 300 block of Acorn called police to report a suspicious vehicle that was driving slowly and circling through their neighborhood. Officers arrived and contacted the subjects in the car. The driver was found to have a suspended license, and a consent search of the vehicle revealed stolen mail under the passenger seat of the vehicle. The subjects are husband and wife, and both were arrested for mail theft.
Critical Missing Located
On December 25 at 10:40 p.m., a 14-year-old autistic male juvenile was reported missing from a residence in the 500 block of East Walnut. The child had wandered away from the home. A description of the child was broadcast and officers conducted an area search. At approximately 12:35 a.m., the child was located by a relative at a Walmart in the city of Duarte.
Mental Evaluation
On December 28 at 9:50 p.m., an adult female phoned police to report her 28-year-old son was suicidal, aggressive and was threatening her. She had left the residence to phone police for help. Officers responded to the location in the 300 block of North Mountain Avenue and de-escalated the situation. They spoke with the adult son and determined that he was suicidal. He was determined to be both a danger to himself and others; he was taken to a hospital, where he was held for a 72-hour mental evaluation.
