August 10 at 10:00 a.m., a vandalism was reported in the 500 block of S. Mountain. An employee at YWCA called the police to report that the men's restroom had been vandalized with a black marker. The investigation is continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
August 10 at 7:35 p.m., an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of W. Olive. The officer recognized the driver from prior contacts and a computer check on the driver revealed he had several outstanding warrants. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
August 10 at 9:26 p.m., an officer on patrol in the area of Foothill and Highland conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation. Further investigation revealed the driver was too impaired to drive a motor vehicle. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
August 10 at 11:35 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 600 block of W. Colorado regarding a subject laying on the sidewalk with no shirt on. The officers contacted the subject and determined he was too intoxicated to care for himself. He was taken into custody and held for a sobering period.

August 11 at 2:10 p.m., officers responded to the report of a subject almost being struck by a motorist in the 100 block of W. Palm Ave. The caller reported the subject was stumbling and appeared intoxicated. Officers located the subject and determined he was too intoxicated to care for himself. The subject was arrested, taken into custody and held for a sobering period.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
August 11 at 2:38 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 500 block of S. Myrtle regarding a 9-1-1 hang-up. Officers arrived and contacted a male subject, further investigation
revealed the subject could not care for himself. The subject was detained and taken into custody.
Evading a Peace Officer / Possession of a Controlled Substance / Receiving Stolen Property – Suspect Arrested
August 11 at 7:20 p.m., police received a call of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Elfwood and Norumbega. When officers arrived and attempted to contact the driver, the vehicle fled. The vehicle failed to yield for a short distance and then stopped at a dead end. During the investigation the suspect admitted he was in possession of heroin and stealing mail.
Robbery
August 11 at 9:13 p.m., an officer responded to a report of a robbery in the 400 block of W. Colorado. The victim was walking down the street texting when a male black forcefully took his phone out of his hand and fled. The investigation is continuing.
Domestic Violence
August 12 at 2:48 p.m., a domestic violence incident was reported in the 800 block of W. Walnut. A husband and wife had a verbal argument that escalated into a battery. The victim was punched twice in the face. When the officers arrived to the residence the husband had fled the scene. The victim refused medical treatment. An emergency protective order was granted and the suspect is being sought. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary
August 12 at 4:48 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 1600 block of S. Mountain. The caller reported a vehicle in the parking lot with a smashed window. The owner was located and some items were stolen from the vehicle. The victim parked and locked his vehicle and went inside the business to shop. The suspect used an unknown tool to gain entry into the vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
Driving Under the Influence / Fatal Traffic Collision – Suspect Arrested
August 12 at 11:41 p.m., officers responded to a traffic collision in the area of Duarte and Magnolia. A vehicle travelling east on Duarte struck a pedestrian near the intersection of Magnolia. Officers arrived on scene and found the victim conscious but seriously injured. He was transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. The driver of the vehicle was found to be under the influence of alcohol. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
August 13 at 12:36 a.m., a domestic violence incident was reported in the 400 block of Monrovista. The male and female were involved in an argument after the male arrived home intoxicated and with their child. The male kicked and punched the victim and threw her on the ground while he was holding the child. The male was arrested and taken into custody.

Highlighted Activity for August 7-9, 2017
Grand Theft – Suspect Arrested
August 7 at 7:20 a.m., officers responded to a hotel in the 700 block of W. Huntington regarding the report of a grand theft from a vehicle. Officers arrived and spoke with the victim and a hotel staff member. The trunk of the vehicle had been left unsecured and an unknown suspect was seen removing the victim’s luggage from the trunk. The suspect took the bags into a room at the hotel. The officers went to the room and contacted a male subject inside. The bags were located, along with several other items that indicated credit cards were being made with stolen information obtained through mail. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Grand Theft Auto – Motorcycle
August 7 at 7:48 a.m., a motorcycle was reported stolen from the 1800 block of Encino Avenue. The victim parked and secured his motorcycle in the carport area at the location. When he returned to it the following morning, he discover his motorcycle was missing. The investigation is continuing.

August 7 at 10:23 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Stedman Avenue. The victim went out to his vehicle and attempted to start it. As he started it, he heard a loud noise and then discovered that the catalytic converter had been removed from the vehicle. The investigation is continuing.

August 7 at 6:16 p.m., a grand theft incident was reported in the 500 block of S. Alta Vista. The victim parked their Honda Accord in front of their house and sometime during the night someone stole the catalytic converter off of the car. The investigation is continuing.
Warrants / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspects Arrested
August 8 at 3:21 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the area of Mountain and Foothill when he contacted two suspicious subjects in the area. A computer check revealed one
of the subjects had a warrant for his arrest and the other was found to be in possession
of drug paraphernalia. Both subjects were arrested and taken into custody.
Sex Registration Violation – Suspect Arrested
August 8 at 4:55 a.m., an officer on patrol observed a known sex registrant in the 500
block of E. Olive that he knew was in violation of failing to register as a sex offender.
The subject was detained and arrested for the violation.
Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
August 8 at 11:01 a.m., officers responded to a hotel in the 700 block of W. Huntington
regarding a female suspect that had returned to retrieve items from a room. A grand
theft of luggage from a vehicle had occurred at the hotel the day prior. The investigation
led to the arrest of the suspect and the recovery of stolen mail and credit card fraud.
During the investigation, officers received information that there was a female suspect
that had fled the hotel before police arrived.
The female suspect and a female friend
had now returned to the hotel to retrieve items from the room. The clerk quickly called
police, but the suspect fled. Officers detained the female friend and further investigation
revealed she was in possession of methamphetamine and cocaine. She was arrested
and taken into custody. The investigation is continuing.
Commercial Burglary
August 9 at 1:09 p.m., a commercial burglary was reported at a school in the 1000 block
of S. Canyon Boulevard. The chain and lock were cut to a storage container on the lot.
When the container was opened they found emergency earthquake supplies had been
stolen.
Critical Missing Person Located
August 9 at 6:08 p.m., a male juvenile with autism was reported missing from a family
member's residence in the 500 block of E. Walnut. Officers and the Foothills Air Support
Team helicopter quickly responded to conduct an area check for the missing subject.
The juvenile was located at a nearby residence he is familiar with and was reunited with
family members.
Vehicle tampering
August 9 at 6:57 p.m., a suspicious person was reported loitering near vehicles in a
business parking lot in the 900 block of W. Huntington. The subject had left the area
and was not located. A review of surveillance footage showed the suspect attempting to
siphon gas out of four different vehicles into a large plastic water jug. The investigation
is continuing.
Counterfeiting
August 9 at 7:45 p.m., a victim of counterfeiting called police to report an incident that
occurred at a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain. The victim claimed he had
received counterfeit money when he returned merchandise to the store that he had
previously purchased. The store was notified regarding the transaction and the money
was collected for evidence. The U.S. Secret Service was notified of the crime and the
investigation is continuing.
Shoplifting
August 9 at 8:03 p.m., officers were dispatched to a shoplifting incident that just
occurred in the 400 block of W. Huntington. The suspect took merchandise from a store
without paying for the items. Officers located the suspect in the area and the store
representative placed him under citizen's arrest. He was arrested and taken into
custody.
Fight in Progress / Criminal Threats
August 9 at 9:04 p.m., a fight involving multiple subjects fighting in the middle of the
street was reported in the area of California and Royal Oaks. Officers responded and
found the majority of the people involved had dispersed. The investigation revealed a
battery had occurred; however the victim and witnesses at the scene were
uncooperative with providing any further information. There was an additional victim of
criminal threats who was cooperative with officers; however the witnesses were not.
The investigation is continuing.
Vandalism
August 9 at 10:25 p.m., a vandalism incident was reported in the 300 block of Hillcrest.
The suspects placed an object inside a mailbox, causing a small explosion that
destroyed the mailbox. Two vehicles occupied by teenage suspects were seen
speeding away, heading east on Hillcrest. The investigation is continuing.

Highlighted Activity for August 3-6, 2017
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
August 3 at 12:29 p.m., a caller reported a possible theft in the area of Duarte and Magnolia. Officers arrived and located three subjects sitting at a bus bench, one of them matched the description of the theft suspect given to police. The investigation revealed that no crime was committed; however, one of the detained subjects was found to have two no-bail warrants for his arrest. The subject was arrested, booked and later released to the Redondo Beach Police Department on the warrant.
Commercial Burglary
August 4 at 8:30 a.m., a commercial burglary was reported at a business in the 2600 block of S. Myrtle Avenue. The victim locked and left his business on July 28 at 8:00 a.m. When he returned on August 4, he noticed the locks to his storage garage door were missing and he found car parts were missing from inside.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
August 4 at 2:41 p.m., a domestic violence incident was reported in the 200 block of W. Evergreen. The victim called to report that she was battered by her boyfriend. An officer responded and contacted both subjects. The victim alleged she was punched in the face and had visible injuries. The suspect was arrested, booked and is being held pending his court appearance.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered – Suspect Arrested
August 4 at 2:44 p.m., the victim of a grand theft auto that was stolen out of Baldwin Park located his vehicle in Monrovia in the 3300 block of S. Peck Road. He called police and was waiting for assistance, when the suspect arrived and entered the vehicle using a shaved key to try and start the car. Officers arrived and the suspect was detained. He was arrested, booked and held pending his court appearance.
Vandalism
August 5 at 7:47 a.m., a vandalism incident was reported at a park in the 300 block of N. Grand Avenue. Graffiti was spray painted on the steps going down to the park. Graffiti removal was advised.

August 5 at 11:02 a.m., police dispatch received a call reporting a subject causing a disturbance at Foothill and Alta Vista. When officers arrived, the subject was identified and found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was arrested for the warrant and taken into custody.
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
August 6 at 3:25 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 200 block of W. Huntington regarding a subject parked at the location all day and sleeping in his vehicle. When officers arrived on scene, the subject was still asleep and they could see hypodermic needles in the vehicle. They woke the subject, who consented to a vehicle search. Needles and a methamphetamine pipe were found inside the vehicle. The suspect was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

August 1 at 10:50 a.m., a theft was reported in the 400 block of E. Lemon. The victim
parked his vehicle in front of his residence overnight. When he returned to his vehicle in
the morning, he heard a loud noise from underneath his vehicle when he started the
ignition and upon inspection saw the catalytic converter was missing. The investigation
is continuing.
Trespassing – Suspect Arrested August 1 at 8:26 p.m., dispatch received a call from a resident in the 200 block of E. Palm regarding a subject at the location refusing to leave. Officers were dispatched to the residence and advised the subject to leave. The subject left but later returned to the location and continued to be a disturbance. Officers were called back to the residence and the subject was arrested and taken into custody.

Officers arrived to the location and determined the victim's ex-girlfriend went to the victim’s house and shattered his front window. The investigation is continuing.

The employee explained that the location is a vehicle storage lot for a local auto dealer. When employees arrived they noticed a new Dodge Challenger was missing all four of its tires and rims. This investigation is continuing.

Highlighted Activity for July 10-12, 2017
Petty Theft – Suspect Arrested
July 10 at 1:00 p.m., officers responded to the report of a male, adult suspect running west, away from a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain Avenue. The subject had been seen taking a pair of bolt cutters from the store without paying for them. The suspect was located by police near the Metro Station. He was arrested and issued a citation to appear in court on the charges.
Disturbing Subject / Warrants – Suspect Arrested
July 10 at 8:16 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a business in the 100 block of W. Duarte regarding a disturbing subject in the parking lot. The subject was detained and a computer check revealed she had multiple warrants for her arrest. She was arrested without incident and taken into custody.
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
July 10 at 10:06 p.m., a resident in the 600 block of E. Lime called police to report a female subject who was acting suspicious. She walked up to his residence and asked if she could have a beer with him. Officers arrived, detained the female and discovered she was in possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested and issued a citation to appear in court on the charges.
Vandalism – Suspect Arrested
July 11 at 1:04 a.m., officers responded to a motel in the 700 block of W. Huntington on the report of disturbing subjects inside one of the motel rooms. Officers arrived and contacted the subjects. One of the female subjects in the room became very upset because the motel staff called the police and she flipped a table over, causing a portion of the table to break. She was arrested for vandalism.
Petty Theft
July 11 at 9:39 a.m., a bicycle was reported stolen from the 500 block of W. Huntington. The victim secured his bike to a bike rack at work and decided to walk home after work on July 10, leaving the bike. He saw his bike in the bike rack when he left. When he returned the next day at 8:00 a.m., he discovered his bike was missing, with the
exception of his front tire, which was still locked to the rack. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft
July 11 at 12:00 p.m., a grand theft was reported to police that occurred in the 200 block of McKinley Place. The victim parked his vehicle on the street in front of his residence the evening before. He returned to his vehicle in the morning and started it. He immediately heard a loud noise and then discovered the catalytic converter had been cut off of his vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
Vandalism
July 12 at 12:05 a.m., a vandalism incident was reported at a business in the 1800 block of S. Myrtle. The cleaning crew arrived to clean the business and noticed the front window was cracked. A large rock was found next to the window. No suspects were seen. The investigation is continuing.
Commercial Burglary
July 12 at 3:59 a.m., officers responded to an alarm activation at a business in the 700 block of W. Huntington. Officers arrived and saw there was an open door. Surveillance footage revealed a male Hispanic suspect using a pry bar to open the exit doors. He entered the business, took three cashboxes from the registers and fled through the same door. He entered a black, 4-door BMW on the passenger side and the vehicle fled the area, heading east on Huntington. The cashboxes were all empty. The investigation is continuing.
Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
July 12 at 10:10 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 700 block of S. Fifth regarding a suspicious female subject loitering on private property. When the officer arrived, he detained the subject, who started reaching into a black jacket. The officer told her to take her hand out of the jacket, which she did, and placed something under the jacket. During a search, the officer recovered a small purse under the jacket, which contained a baggie of methamphetamine and a drug smoking pipe. The suspect was arrested for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

The subject had been seen taking a pair of bolt cutters from the store without paying for them. The suspect was located by police near the Metro Station. He was arrested and issued a citation to appear in court on the charges.

July 10 at 8:16 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a business in the 100 block of W. Duarte regarding a disturbing subject in the parking lot. The subject was detained and a computer check revealed she had multiple warrants for her arrest. She was arrested without incident and taken into custody.
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
July 10 at 10:06 p.m., a resident in the 600 block of E. Lime called police to report a female subject who was acting suspicious. She walked up to his residence and asked if she could have a beer with him. Officers arrived, detained the female and discovered she was in possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested and issued a citation to appear in court on the charges.
Vandalism – Suspect Arrested
July 11 at 1:04 a.m., officers responded to a motel in the 700 block of W. Huntington on the report of disturbing subjects inside one of the motel rooms. Officers arrived and contacted the subjects. One of the female subjects in the room became very upset because the motel staff called the police and she flipped a table over, causing a portion of the table to break. She was arrested for vandalism.
Petty Theft
July 11 at 9:39 a.m., a bicycle was reported stolen from the 500 block of W. Huntington. The victim secured his bike to a bike rack at work and decided to walk home after work on July 10, leaving the bike. He saw his bike in the bike rack when he left. When he returned the next day at 8:00 a.m., he discovered his bike was missing, with the
exception of his front tire, which was still locked to the rack. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft
July 11 at 12:00 p.m., a grand theft was reported to police that occurred in the 200 block of McKinley Place. The victim parked his vehicle on the street in front of his residence the evening before. He returned to his vehicle in the morning and started it. He immediately heard a loud noise and then discovered the catalytic converter had been cut off of his vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
Vandalism
July 12 at 12:05 a.m., a vandalism incident was reported at a business in the 1800 block of S. Myrtle. The cleaning crew arrived to clean the business and noticed the front window was cracked. A large rock was found next to the window. No suspects were seen. The investigation is continuing.
Commercial Burglary
July 12 at 3:59 a.m., officers responded to an alarm activation at a business in the 700 block of W. Huntington. Officers arrived and saw there was an open door. Surveillance footage revealed a male Hispanic suspect using a pry bar to open the exit doors. He entered the business, took three cashboxes from the registers and fled through the same door. He entered a black, 4-door BMW on the passenger side and the vehicle fled the area, heading east on Huntington. The cashboxes were all empty. The investigation is continuing.
Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
July 12 at 10:10 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 700 block of S. Fifth regarding a suspicious female subject loitering on private property. When the officer arrived, he detained the subject, who started reaching into a black jacket. The officer told her to take her hand out of the jacket, which she did, and placed something under the jacket. During a search, the officer recovered a small purse under the jacket, which contained a baggie of methamphetamine and a drug smoking pipe. The suspect was arrested for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Highlighted Activity for July 3-5, 2017
Grand Theft
July 3 at 8:02 a.m., an officer responded to a hotel in the 700 block of W. Huntington
regarding a theft of money from luggage. The victim is visiting from out of town and
mistakenly left their luggage outside their hotel room door when they arrived. The
luggage was still there in the morning, but money that was inside the luggage was
missing.
The investigation is continuing.
Injury Traffic Collision July 5 at 12:28 a.m., officers responded to the report of an injury traffic collision in the 400 block of W. Duarte Road. Two vehicles were traveling west on Duarte, when one attempted to make a left turn from the number two lane and collided with the vehicle that was traveling in the number one lane. Subjects from both vehicles sustained injuries and were taken to local hospitals. The investigation is continuing.

Grand Theft Auto / Possession of Burglary Tools – Suspects Arrested
June 30 at 12:59 a.m., while on patrol in the area of Greystone and Stedman, an officer
saw a suspicious vehicle stopped in the roadway. The vehicle was occupied by two
juveniles who did not live in the area. One juvenile was in the driver seat and the other
was in the back seat. The vehicle was registered to an address in another city and the
key in the ignition was found to be a shaved key that belonged to a Toyota, but the
vehicle was a Honda.
Suspecting that another person may be involved, officers began checking the area and
found a third suspect inside a vehicle across the street. As the officers were removing
the third suspect from the vehicle, the owners of the vehicle exited their home and told
the officers they did not know the suspect sitting inside their vehicle.
After completing their investigation, it was determined that the three suspects came to
the area in an unreported stolen vehicle and were in the process of stealing another
vehicle in Monrovia when the officers found them. All three suspects were arrested and
taken into custody.

Avenue. The victim parked and locked his 2000, Ford F250 truck in front of his
residence and went in for the evening. The victim returned to his truck in the morning
and discovered it had been stolen. The investigation is continuing.
Felony Vandalism – Suspect Arrested
June 30 at 8:35 a.m., a vandalism incident was reported at a church in the 1400 block of
S. Magnolia Avenue. An employee of the church arrived to work and noticed fresh
graffiti near the front entrance doors and the rear steps of the church. The employee
saw a female she recognized walking away from the area and noticed she had blue
paint on her legs. Three vehicles and two additional locations at the church were found
vandalized with blue spray paint.
Officers responded and located the suspect nearby. Her legs were, in fact, spray
painted with blue paint. When questioned, she admitted to the vandalism. She was
arrested and held pending her court appearance.

the intersection of Canyon and Wildrose. Officers arrived and found two vehicles had
collided in the intersection. A vehicle traveling west on Wildrose pulled out in front of an

hand and was taken to a hospital for treatment. One of the vehicles came to rest against
an Edison power pole, causing minor damage. Edison responded and repaired the pole
damage.

victim parked her vehicle on the street and last saw it on June 30. When she returned to

July 1 at 11:44 a.m., an officer responded to a business in the 3300 block of Peck Road.
An employee of the business reported that a subject set fire to two dismantled vehicles
on the property. Officers arrived and searched the area, but did not locate the suspect.
The Monrovia Fire Department responded to put out the fire and is investigating the
cause of the fire. The investigation is continuing.

July 1 at 12:21 p.m., a subject was reported for shoplifting at a business in the 500
block of W. Huntington. The subject entered the store, selected numerous items of
clothing and concealed the stolen merchandise in a backpack. The suspect was
arrested and taken into custody.
Violation of Court Order
July 1 at 12:44 p.m., a resident in the 400 block of W. Maple called police to report a
subject at the location whom he has a restraining order against. The subject was at the
location in violation of the court order. The subject left the location prior to the officer's
arrival. The violation is being submitted to the District Attorney for filing consideration.
Petty Theft
July 1 at 2:30 p.m., a petty theft from a vehicle was reported in the 1600 block of S.
Mountain. The victim parked and locked his vehicle in the parking lot of a business and
went inside. When he returned to his vehicle, he noticed miscellaneous tools missing
from his utility bed storage cabinets. It appears that the cabinets were left unlocked. The
investigation is continuing.

June 22 at 10:11 a.m., a resident in the 600 block of S. Canyon called police to report his son was at the location causing a disturbance. Officers arrived, contacted the subject and a computer check revealed he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The subject was arrested and later released with a citation to appear in court.
Petty Theft
June 22 at 11:35 a.m., a theft was reported at Mayflower and Genoa. The victim called police to report his cell phone had been stolen. The victim met the suspect at the location to sell his cell phone. After agreeing to a price, the suspect fled with the phone in a light grey vehicle, heading north on Mayflower. The suspect was not located. The investigation is continuing.
Outside Assist – California Highway Patrol Pursuit
June 23 at 2:33 a.m., the California Highway Patrol was involved in a pursuit and the suspect vehicle exited the 210 Freeway at Huntington. Several minutes later, the suspect vehicle was located in the area of Chestnut and Mayflower in Monrovia, but the occupants were not in the vehicle. It was later learned that the suspect vehicle was involved in a robbery where physical force was used at a business in Temple City. The California Highway Patrol towed the vehicle.

June 23 at 3:00 a.m., officers were on patrol in the 700 block of W. Olive due to a pursuit that ended in that area and they observed a suspicious female subject and stopped to talk with her. A computer check revealed she had an outstanding warrant and was wanted by the Pasadena Police Department. She was arrested without incident.
Grand Theft Auto Recovered / Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
June 23 at 8:09 a.m., officers located a stolen vehicle in a public parking lot and contacted a male subject in the driver seat. When questioned about the owner of the vehicle, the driver admitted the vehicle was not his and that there were drugs inside the vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody, keys to the vehicle were located in his front pocket and drugs were recovered from the center console. The suspect was arrested and is being held pending his court appearance.

a lawn mower that belonged to a gardener, working at the location. Police searched the

Huntington. Two adult female subjects entered the department store and stole
handbags. As they were leaving the store, loss prevention tried to detain them, but one
of the suspects sprayed the loss prevention officers with pepper spray. The females
were last seen heading west on Huntington in a red Charger. Monrovia Fire Department
personnel was dispatched to render aid and wash down the victims. The investigation is
continuing.

June 23 at 11:49 p.m., a roll-over traffic collision was reported in the 1000 block of
Briarcliff Road. When officers arrived, they discovered the vehicle struck a large rock on
the side of the road, the driver lost control and rolled over the side of the hill. The
vehicle came to rest on its side. No serious injuries were reported and one occupant
was taken to a local hospital. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision.

warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody.

June 24 at 7:28 a.m., a family disturbance was reported at a residence in the 700 block
of Monterey Avenue. The investigation revealed a male and female who were formerly
in a dating relationship were involved in a heated argument that turned physical. Both
male and female sustained minor injuries from the altercation. The male subject was
determined to be the primary aggressor. He was arrested and taken into custody for
domestic violence and held pending his court appearance.

Violation of Restraining Order
May 22 at 10:03 a.m., a resident in the 1400 block of S. Magnolia called police to report her adult daughter was at her home in violation of a restraining order on file against her. Officers responded and located the daughter near the residence. The daughter would not comply with officers orders to stop and speak with them. She was detained by the officers. She complained of pain and was eventually taken to a hospital for treatment. A verified complaint will be filed with the District Attorney’s office for filing consideration of the restraining order violation charges.
Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
May 22 at 7:32 p.m., a resident in the 200 block of E. Central called police to report a male subject in her rear yard, hunched over and possibly drunk. Officers located the subject, who told them he was under the influence of heroin and alcohol. The suspect was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was arrested and taken into custody.

May 22 at 10:04 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the 1000 block of S. Canyon when he observed what appeared to be gang graffiti on the north wall of a building off of Almond. The graffiti was written in black spray paint. The graffiti was photographed and graffiti removal was notified. The investigation is continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
May 23 at 2:00 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 800 block of E. Olive when she saw a male subject in the park digging through a trash dumpster. The officers contacted the subject and a computer check revealed he had a warrant for his arrest. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody for the warrant.
Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
May 23 at 8:35 a.m., officers were dispatched to Magnolia and Oaks regarding a suspicious vehicle reported in the area. Officers located a vehicle matching the description provided by the caller and contacted a male subject inside the vehicle. During a consent search, officers located heroin, other drugs and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. The suspect was arrested and the vehicle was stored.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
May 23 at 9:43 p.m., a suspicious female subject who was trying to get into several vehicles in a parking lot in the 300 block of W. Huntington was reported to police. The caller told police the subject appeared to be under the influence or intoxicated. Officers located the female and determined she was too intoxicated to care for her own safety. She was arrested for public intoxication.
Grand Theft
May 23 at 10:05 p.m., a grand theft from a vehicle was reported in the 1300 block of S. Alta Vista. The victim reported that the catalytic converter was removed from his 1998 Honda Accord sometime between May 20 and 22. The vehicle was parked on the street on Alta Vista. The investigation is continuing.

May 24 at 3:00 a.m., officers were on patrol in the 100 block of E. Duarte Road when they observed graffiti written on the wall of a business. The graffiti was written in black spray paint. The investigation is continuing.

Highlighted Activity for April 27-30, 2017
Hit & Run Traffic Collision April 27 at 9:51 a.m., officers responded to Magnolia and Evergreen on the report of a hit and run traffic collision. The suspect driver rear-ended a vehicle and fled the scene. Officers checked the area for the suspect vehicle and located it in the 400 block of Andre in the city of Duarte. The driver of the vehicle was also located and he had sustained injuries from the accident when his head hit the windshield. The windshield had cracked and lacerated his forehead. The vehicle was towed and the driver was taken to a hospital for treatment. The driver admitted to being involved in the collision.
Grand Theft Auto April 27 at 7:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 500 block of W. Huntington regarding a stolen vehicle report. The victim left his keys unattended on a table inside of a restaurant for approximately ten minutes. When he returned to the table, he realized his keys were gone. He went out to the parking lot and saw that his vehicle had been stolen. The investigation is continuing.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered / Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested April 28 at 7:25 a.m., a suspicious person was reported at a business in the 2100 block of S. Myrtle. A female subject entered the location and was driving around inside the property. A worker thought the female was acting suspicious and phoned police to report the activity. Officers arrived and located the vehicle. The investigation revealed that the vehicle was stolen and the female suspect was under the influence. She was arrested and the vehicle was recovered and returned to the owner.
Vandalism Incident April 28 at 8:39 a.m., officers responded to the 1100 block of Sesmas regarding a vandalism incident. The victim reported that the windows on her vehicle had been shattered. A female adult in a dark colored SUV was seen driving up to the victim's vehicle. The female exited the SUV and proceeded to shatter multiple windows on the vehicle. She then got back into the SUV and left the area. The investigation is continuing. Grand Theft Auto Recovered April 28 at 6:10 p.m., an abandoned vehicle was reported in the 100 block of E. Cypress. The black Chevy Tahoe had been parked there for three days. The license plate number was checked and it returned to a vehicle reported stolen out of Pomona. Officers responded and recovered the vehicle.
Assault Report April 28 at 9:36 p.m., a nurse from a local hospital phoned police to report a subject in the ER that had been assaulted in Monrovia. Officers responded and spoke to the subject, who said he had been assaulted at a bar in the 1500 block of S. Myrtle. He said he had been drinking and playing pool. At approximately 8:00 p.m., he stepped out to the back alley to use the restroom when he was assaulted. He didn't know the suspects, but believes there were three of them. The victim had some facial wounds and some bruising to his upper torso area, where he was possibly hit or kicked. The investigation is continuing.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested April 28 at 10:25 p.m., an officer was on patrol the area of Mountain and Royal Oaks when he saw a vehicle traveling on the opposite side of the road. He stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, who displayed symptoms of being intoxicated. After performing field sobriety tests, the driver was arrested for DUI.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested April 28 at 10:40 p.m., officers were dispatched to the report of a disturbing subject at Foothill and Magnolia. The subject was shining a flashlight at drivers. An officer responded and located the subject at Magnolia and Chestnut. The officer stopped to talk to him and a computer check revealed he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Theft From a Vehicle April 29 at 10:15 a.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 600 block of W. Foothill. The victim reported that they parked their vehicle on Highland the day before, and when they returned to the vehicle the next day, they saw items were missing. The vehicle had been left unlocked. The investigation is continuing.
Petty Theft April 29 at 12:45 p.m., a theft was reported at a business in the 400 block of W. Maple. A female adult walked into the business and took a cell phone and pair of shoes that belonged to a customer who was taking a class. The investigation is continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested April 29 at 10:19 p.m., an employee at a business in the 200 block of W. Huntington called police to report a disturbing female inside the location who was throwing items. They asked her to leave and she refused. Officers arrived and spoke to the subject. A computer check revealed an outstanding warrant for her arrest. She was arrested and taken into custody for the warrant.
Intoxicated in Public – Suspect Arrested April 29 at 11:05 p.m., officers responded to the report of a man down on the sidewalk in the 100 block of Montana. Officers arrived, made contact with the subject and determined he was intoxicated. The subject was unable to care for his own safety and was arrested for being drunk in public. He was held for a sobering period.
Intoxicated in Public – Suspect arrested April 30 at 1:28 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the area of Myrtle and Colorado when he noticed a male subject walking on the sidewalk, having some difficulty. The officer made contact with the subject and realized he was intoxicated and unable to care for his own safety. The subject was arrested for being drunk in public and was held for sobering.
Theft From a Vehicle April 30 at 11:41 a.m., a resident in the 1000 block of Orange called police to report a theft from his vehicle. The theft occurred sometime overnight and the suspect(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and stole a bag of tools. The investigation is continuing.
Theft From a Vehicle April 30 at 2:42 p.m., officers responded to the report of a theft from a vehicle in the 200 block of E. Cypress. The victim reported that sometime overnight, someone entered his unlocked vehicle and stole his wallet. The investigation is continuing.

Highlighted Activity for April 24-26, 2017
Theft – Suspect Arrested April 24 at 1:11 p.m., a theft was reported at a business in the 700 block of E. Huntington Drive. The suspect entered the business, selected merchandise and fled on a bicycle without paying for the merchandise. Officers located the suspect a short distance away. The investigation revealed the suspect was on parole and he admitted to the theft. The suspect was arrested and is being held pending a court appearance.
Wanted Person – Suspect Arrested April 24 at 2:33 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the 100 Block of S. Primrose when he recognized a subject who he knew had an active felony WANT for his arrest. The officer made contact with the suspect and arrested him without incident. He was held pending his court appearance.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested April 24 at 2:38 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 200 block of S. Myrtle regarding subjects loitering near the park. The officer recognized one of the subjects and knew he had outstanding warrant. A computer check confirmed an outstanding bench warrant for his arrest. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody. He is being held pending his court appearance.
Residential Burglary April 24 at 4:38 p.m., a residential burglary was reported in the 200 block of S. Myrtle. The home was burglarized while the victims were away for the day. The suspects forced entry through a back window and ransacked the home. Jewelry and miscellaneous property was taken. The investigation is continuing.
Under Influence of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested April 24 at 7:48 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 400 block of S. Myrtle regarding a male subject in his 20s, lying in the street. When the officer arrived, the subject jumped up and ran. Additional units responded to the area and the suspect was apprehended in an alley in the 100 block of W. Lemon. The suspect was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Theft of Purse April 24 at 9:05 p.m., a theft of a purse was reported at a business in the 100 block of W. Foothill. An elderly female victim was shopping for approximately one hour when she realized her purse was missing from her shopping cart. The victim believes someone removed her purse from her cart while she was shopping. The investigation is continuing.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered / Fire April 24 at 9:15 p.m., an officer responded to California and Duarte regarding a vehicle on fire. Duarte Sheriffs deputies arrived on scene prior. A check of the license plate revealed the vehicle was reported stolen out of San Bernardino. The driver of the vehicle was the registered owner, who had reported his vehicle stolen on April 1. He saw his vehicle at a business in San Bernardino that day and took his vehicle. He did not call San Bernardino Police Department to let them know he recovered his vehicle. He said he was driving on the 210 Freeway when his front tire started smoking. He exited Mountain and drove to Duarte Road, where the vehicle caught on fire.
Felony Vandalism April 25 at 3:43 a.m., a vandalism incident was reported in the 800 block of W. Olive. The victim reported that someone shattered the windows on his vehicle. A tall subject was seen throwing bricks through the windows and running east on Olive. The investigation is continuing.
Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested April 25 at 9:37 a.m., a male subject was reported huffing something from a bag in the 600 block of W. Myrtle. Officers arrived and detained the subject. The investigation revealed the suspect was inhaling the propellant gas from an aerosol can, and he was under the influence. The suspect was issued a citation and taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
Vehicle Burglary April 25 at 1:22 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 800 block of Oceanview regarding a vehicle burglary. The victim called to report that she parked and locked her vehicle and returned later to find someone had burglarized it. Miscellaneous items were taken and the investigation is continuing.
Fight in Progress April 25 at 10:42 p.m., dispatch received several calls reporting a fight in progress in the 800 block of W. Olive. Prior to police arrival, three subjects jumped into a white Lexus and fled east on Olive. Officers stopped the vehicle in the 700 block of W. Walnut. One of the subjects inside the vehicle was injured in the fight and was treated by Monrovia Fire Department paramedics. All three subjects were uncooperative with police. Officers did not locate the other subjects involved in the fight. The incident does not appear to be gang related.
Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested April 26 at 7:18 a.m., officers responded to the report of suspicious drug activity in the 400 block of W. Huntington. The officers arrived and contacted the person in question. After speaking with the subject, it was determined he was under the influence of a controlled substance. He was arrested and held for a sobering period.
Suspicious Activity Reported April 26 at 7:49 a.m., a citizen called police and reported seeing a male juvenile exit a vehicle with a handgun. The juvenile appeared to be a student at Monrovia High School. Officers responded and located the unoccupied vehicle. The registered owner of the vehicle was a new student at the high school. The student was located in a classroom and the school was placed on soft alert; staff is notified to keep students in class and no change of class or bells are activated. The student was removed from class and questioned. Officers learned he had a brother in another class. The sibling was located and questioned. The juveniles’ backpacks, vehicle and lockers were searched and no weapons were found. Police then contacted the parents and confirmed there was no way they could have any weapons.

Highlighted Activity for March 23-26, 2017
Vandalism
March 23 at 11:52 a.m., a vandalism incident was reported at a residence in the 800 block of E. Foothill. The reporting party was at home when she heard glass break. A ball bearing came through the front window. It is unknown if the ball bearing was intentionally shot through the front window by a BB gun or if it came off of a vehicle, as the location is in close proximity to the street. The investigation is continuing.
Violation of Court Order / Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
March 23 at 2:49 p.m., an altercation was reported at a residence in the 1400 block of S. Magnolia. The altercation was between a male and female that are involved in a dating relationship. Officers arrived and contacted the female. The learned there is a restraining order against the female and she is not allowed at the location. She stated that her boyfriend punched her. He was not at the location. The female was arrested for violation of the court order and the case will be sent to the District Attorney for filing charges against the male suspect.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
March 23 at 4:45 p.m., officers responded to a call of a disturbance at a park in the 300 block of S. Myrtle. One of the subjects causing the disturbance was found to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest and she was arrested without incident.
Battery
March 23 at 7:06 p.m., a battery incident was reported at a residence in the 100 block of N. Mountain. The reporting party advised that the brother of a female resident pushed his sister to the ground and left the area. Officers responded to the location and attempted to get a statement from the female, but she suffers from dementia and could not remember what happened. The female had a complaint of pain to her head and wanted to go to the hospital. Officers called the brother and he said he got into an argument with his sister about her not wanting to live there anymore. He said he was trying to restrain his sister when he lost his balance and fell to the ground with her. The investigation is continuing.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
March 24 at 2:08 a.m., a caller dialed 911 and said she was stuck in an elevator, but
didn't know where she was. Dispatchers were able to determine she was at the Metro
parking structure in the 1600 block of S. Primrose. Officers arrived and located the
female inside the elevator. Upon speaking with her, they realized she was extremely
intoxicated and unable to care for her own safety. She was arrested for being drunk in
public and held for a sobering period.
Trespassing / Unlawful Possession of Access Cards – Suspect Arrested
March 24 at 5:19 a.m., a caller reported a male subject sleeping in the lobby of a
building in the 100 block of E. Huntington. When Officers arrived, they woke the subject.
A consent search, revealed the subject was in possession of two credit cards in
someone else's name. The subject said the cards belonged to his aunt and he admitted
to stealing them. The subject was arrested for possession of the cards.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
March 24 at 8:32 a.m., a female resident in the 1700 block of S. Mountain called police
to report her ex-husband was at the location. She advised he had an outstanding
warrant for his arrest. Officers responded and contacted the subject. A computer check
confirmed the warrant and he was arrested and taken into custody.

March 24 at 12:17 p.m., officers were on patrol in the 100 block of W. Palm when they
contacted four subjects in an alley. Two of the subjects had warrants for their arrest.
They were arrested and taken into custody.
Vandalism
March 24 at 4:13 p.m., a vandalism incident was reported in a parking lot in the 100
block of E. Lime. The victim parked her vehicle in the lot for several hours. When she
returned to her vehicle, she found it had been keyed. The victim believes it may be
related to an earlier incident where two subjects were arguing with her over a parking
space. The investigation is continuing.
Warrants / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
March 25 at 1:15 a.m., an officer on patrol was driving in the 100 block of East Lemon
when he was flagged down by a business owner. The officer was told a male and
female were drinking alcohol outside in the street. Officers located the subjects and a
computer check revealed the male subject had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.
When he was searched, the officer found two glass drug pipes on him. He was arrested
for the warrants and being in possession of drug paraphernalia.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
March 25 at 2:01 a.m., a female subject walked into the police station lobby and was
waiting for her friend, who had been arrested for warrants, to be released. While waiting
in the lobby, an officer saw her drinking alcohol from a bottle. The officer contacted her
and told her to pour out the alcohol outside. When she walked outside the station, she
tried to drink more whiskey from the bottle, but forgot the cap was on. The officer
determined she was too intoxicated to care for her own safety and she was arrested for
being drunk in public and held for a sobering period.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered
March 25 at 2:04 a.m., an officer was providing extra patrol to a business parking lot in
the 900 block of W. Huntington when he saw an unoccupied vehicle that looked like it
had been ransacked. He ran the license plate and it returned stolen out of Arcadia. The
vehicle was recovered.
Injury Traffic Collision / Driving on a Suspended License
March 25 at 1:47 p.m., three vehicles were involved in a rear-end collision at the
intersection of Mayflower and Huntington. Three subjects from the accident complained
of pain and were treated by paramedics. The driver that caused the collision was driving
on a suspended license. He was cited and his vehicle was towed for being unregistered.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered – Suspects Arrested
March 26 at 12:50 a.m., an officer was driving in the 400 block of W. Huntington when
he saw a suspicious vehicle. He conducted a computer check of the vehicle, which
revealed it had been reported stolen. Officers responded to assist and a high-risk traffic
stop was conducted. Two suspects were taken into custody without incident. During a
search of the vehicle incident to arrest, evidence of fraud and stolen property were
recovered.
Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
March 26 at 1:12 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation in
the 100 block of W. Duarte Road. The driver was determined to be driving on a
suspended driver's license. During a consensual search of the vehicle, a baggie of
heroin and a needle belonging to the passenger were recovered. The passenger was
arrested.
Vehicle Tampering
March 26 at 3:46 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the area of Chestnut and Magnolia
regarding a male subject breaking into a vehicle. The officer arrived and found a subject
lying inside of a vehicle. The subject was detained. The owner of the vehicle responded
and completed a private person's arrest for vehicle tampering. The suspect was
arrested without incident.
Theft / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
March 26 at 2:21 p.m., a female subject was reported for taking beer from a location in
the 700 block of E. Huntington without paying for it. The suspect stayed at the location
in a vehicle and was detained by officers. A computer check revealed she also had a
warrant for her arrest. She was arrested for the theft and the warrant.
Domestic Battery
March 26 at 2:49 p.m., a fight in progress between a male and female was reported in
the 100 block of E. Lemon. Officers arrived and detained both parties involved in the
fight. The two are involved in a dating relationship. During the investigation, it was
determined the female subject was the primary aggressor. She was arrested for
domestic battery.

Highlighted Activity for March 2-5, 2017
Battery / Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Warrants – Suspects Arrested
March 2 at 5:29 p.m., dispatch received several calls reporting two male adults fighting in the 100 block of Norumbega Drive. Officers arrived and located one male adult, and while speaking with him, discovered he was on probation. During a pat-down search, he was found to have drug paraphernalia in his possession. Another officer located the second male suspect nearby, who was found to have several warrants. While speaking with the second suspect, a female approached. She was found to have several warrants and had methamphetamine in her possession. All three suspects were arrested.
Theft From a Vehicle
March 2 at 7:25 p.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 900 block of Crescent. The vehicle was parked in the victim’s driveway with the doors unlocked. The suspect entered the vehicle and took a backpack containing miscellaneous school supplies and a bag containing clothing that was going to be donated. The investigation is continuing.
Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
March 3 at 3:30 p.m., officers responded to the report of a male adult slumped over the wheel of a parked vehicle in the 200 block of Linwood Avenue. Officers located the vehicle and an adult male inside, who was unresponsive. The officers made entry into the vehicle and saw a loaded syringe sticking out of the inner thigh of the driver. Officers were able to revive the subject, who admitted to being addicted to heroin. The suspect was arrested and the vehicle was stored.
Defrauding an Innkeeper
March 3 at 10:14 p.m., a male subject ordered a dinner meal at a restaurant in the 800 block of W. Huntington and then left the location without paying. The investigation is continuing.

E. Huntington and was unhappy with the order. He was given a discount on his bill, but
still left the location without paying. The investigation is continuing.
Suspicious Subject / Warrant / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect
Arrested
March 4 at 12:54 a.m., officers responded to the 400 block of W. Huntington regarding
the report of a suspicious subject in the area. They arrived and contacted the subject. A
computer check revealed he had an outstanding warrant and he was arrested. While
searching the suspect, he was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.
Weapons Offense
March 4 at 11:13 a.m., a security guard from a business in the 100 block of W. Foothill
flagged down an officer who was driving by on Myrtle. He informed the officer that a
subject in a silver charger had just sped through the parking lot and almost hit him. The
officer turned into the parking area to look for the vehicle and was stopped by a patron,
who reported that the same subject in the silver charger had tossed a handgun out of
the vehicle window as it sped through the parking lot. The officer recovered the weapon,
which was not registered, and an extensive search was conducted for the vehicle, but it
was not located. Neighboring agencies were contacted to see if they had any reports of
a recent shooting. The investigation is continuing.
Battery / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspects Arrested
March 4 at 3:04 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Norumbega
on the report of a family disturbance. Officers arrived and separated three adults and
spoke with them. They were all disruptive and combative with each other. One subject
was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and a second was arrested for
battery.
Counterfeit Currency / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
March 4 at 4:13 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of W. Huntington on the
report of subjects bathing outside. The officers arrived and located several subjects
possibly involved in the reported activity. While speaking with the subjects, the officers
located counterfeit U.S. currency belonging to one of the subjects. He was arrested and
taken into custody. He was also found to have an outstanding warrant.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
March 4 at 10:07 p.m., an intoxicated female in a vehicle was reported at a business
parking lot in the 1600 block of S. Mountain. Officers arrived and located the subject.
After investigation, the female driver was arrested for driving under the influence and
was taken into custody.

March 5 at 12:24 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported at a business parking lot in the
900 block of W. Huntington. The victim parked her vehicle in the parking lot and when
she returned, she found the driver side window had been shattered and her purse,
which she left in the vehicle, was gone. The investigation is continuing.

drivers pulled into a parking lot to exchange information. Officers arrived and contacted
the drivers. The driver who rear ended the other vehicle was determined to be driving
under the influence and was arrested and held for a sobering period.

March 5 at 9:21 p.m., a caller reported a male subject at Myrtle and Central trying to get
into vehicles in the area. Officers arrived and located the subject. He was determined to
be extremely intoxicated and unable to care for his own safety. He was arrested for
public intoxication.

March 5 at 9:24 p.m., a vandalism incident was reported at a residence in the 400 block
of Almond. A white, late 1990's Jeep Cherokee was seen pulling up to the home and
two teenage male suspects exited. They walked up to the victim's truck and broke a
window, then walked up the driveway and broke a window on the victim's Toyota
Camry. They fled in their vehicle. The suspects never tried to get into the vehicles to
take anything. The investigation is continuing.
March 2 at 5:29 p.m., dispatch received several calls reporting two male adults fighting in the 100 block of Norumbega Drive. Officers arrived and located one male adult, and while speaking with him, discovered he was on probation. During a pat-down search, he was found to have drug paraphernalia in his possession. Another officer located the second male suspect nearby, who was found to have several warrants. While speaking with the second suspect, a female approached. She was found to have several warrants and had methamphetamine in her possession. All three suspects were arrested.
Theft From a Vehicle
March 2 at 7:25 p.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 900 block of Crescent. The vehicle was parked in the victim’s driveway with the doors unlocked. The suspect entered the vehicle and took a backpack containing miscellaneous school supplies and a bag containing clothing that was going to be donated. The investigation is continuing.
Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
March 3 at 3:30 p.m., officers responded to the report of a male adult slumped over the wheel of a parked vehicle in the 200 block of Linwood Avenue. Officers located the vehicle and an adult male inside, who was unresponsive. The officers made entry into the vehicle and saw a loaded syringe sticking out of the inner thigh of the driver. Officers were able to revive the subject, who admitted to being addicted to heroin. The suspect was arrested and the vehicle was stored.

March 3 at 10:14 p.m., a male subject ordered a dinner meal at a restaurant in the 800 block of W. Huntington and then left the location without paying. The investigation is continuing.

March 4 at 12:54 a.m., officers responded to the 400 block of W. Huntington regarding
the report of a suspicious subject in the area. They arrived and contacted the subject. A
computer check revealed he had an outstanding warrant and he was arrested. While
searching the suspect, he was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.
Weapons Offense
March 4 at 11:13 a.m., a security guard from a business in the 100 block of W. Foothill
flagged down an officer who was driving by on Myrtle. He informed the officer that a
subject in a silver charger had just sped through the parking lot and almost hit him. The
officer turned into the parking area to look for the vehicle and was stopped by a patron,
who reported that the same subject in the silver charger had tossed a handgun out of
the vehicle window as it sped through the parking lot. The officer recovered the weapon,
which was not registered, and an extensive search was conducted for the vehicle, but it
was not located. Neighboring agencies were contacted to see if they had any reports of
a recent shooting. The investigation is continuing.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Warrants – Suspect Arrested
January 30 at 11:12 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the 1000 block of Royal Oaks when he stopped a female subject on a bicycle for a vehicle code violation. The subject tossed an object on the ground as the officer approached. The object was discovered to be a methamphetamine pipe. A computer check revealed she also had outstanding warrants for her arrest. The subject was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and two outstanding warrants.
Petty Theft
January 30 at 11:27 p.m., a petty theft was reported at a residence in the 1000 block of E. Huntington. A resident caught a subject inside her vehicle. The victim reported that when she confronted the suspect, she could smell alcohol on him. The suspect told her he was only looking for shelter. He then grabbed her child's scooter and fled. The suspect was described as a male Hispanic, approximately 20 years old, wearing dark clothing. Officers checked the area for the suspect, but were unable to locate him. The investigation is continuing.
Residential Burglary
January 31 at 6:15 a.m., a residential burglary was reported in the 900 block of W. Duarte Road. The victim was leaving for work and found his garage door had been forced open and his rolling tool chest had been stolen. The investigation is continuing.

January 31 at 10:09 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 200 block of E. Maple on the report of a theft. The victim was working on a car at the location and the suspect approached him and offered to help. When the victim left to buy parts for the vehicle, the suspect stole the victim's tools and fled the area. The investigation is continuing.

January 31 at 10:27 a.m., a vandalism incident was reported in the 1500 block of Encino. The victim called police to report that sometime during the early morning hours,
a suspect used a sharp object to scratch the victim’s vehicle. The investigation is continuing.

February 1 at 10:07 a.m., officers responded to the 900 block of S. Fifth Avenue regarding a subject causing a disturbance. The officers located the subject and discovered she had a warrant for her arrest. She was arrested for the warrant and taken into custody.
Attempt Robbery / Brandishing a Firearm / Mail Tampering
February 1 at 8:53 p.m., a victim was walking his dog in the area of Alta Vista and Central when he observed a male suspect tampering with a resident’s mailbox. When the victim confronted the suspect, the suspect brandished a black revolver and threatened the victim. The suspect ordered the victim to give him his cell phone and wallet. The victim refused to give up his property and the suspect fled. Officers searched the area with the assistance of the Foothill Air Support Team helicopter, but the suspect was not located. The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, thin build, approximately 25 years old, with short hair, a piercing between his eyes and earrings in both ears. He was wearing a black oversized sweater with black pants. The investigation is continuing.
Graffiti – Suspect Arrested
February 1 at 9:05 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the 100 block of W. Pomona when he saw a suspect spray painting a block wall. The suspect was arrested without incident.

Highlighted Activity for January 19-22, 2017
Battery
January 19 at 9:16 a.m., a battery incident was reported at Maple and Mayflower. A male and female subject were involved in an argument, and the male subject punched the female in the face and walked away. The female was treated by Monrovia Fire Department paramedics. She did not know the male subject's full name. The investigation is continuing to identify the suspect.
Traffic Collision / Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
January 19 at 10:38 p.m., police responded to the report of a vehicle that had just crashed through the gate of the cemetery in the 200 block of E. Duarte Road. The reporting party gave a description of the vehicle and driver. An officer responding to the incident saw a vehicle matching the description heading north on Ivy. The vehicle had collision damage to the front and two flat tires. The officer stopped the vehicle and after investigation, the driver was arrested for driving under the influence. The driver was also found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
Robbery – Suspect Arrested
January 20 at 8:24 a.m., a robbery was reported at a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain. A male subject shoplifted items by placing them in his waistband and walking out of the store. Store loss prevention officers attempted to detain the suspect outside of the store, but he resisted and a struggle ensued. The suspect was ultimately detained by loss prevention and no one was injured. The suspect was arrested.
Robbery
January 20 at 10:06 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain regarding a robbery. The suspect entered the business, selected four purses from a display rack and walked toward the exit doors. A loss prevention agent stepped in front of the suspect to block his path to the door. The suspect grabbed the loss prevention agent in a choke hold, pushed her out of his way and fled the business with the merchandise. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft
January 21 at 12:37 p.m., a grand theft incident was reported at a business parking lot
in the 400 block of W. Huntington. The victim parked his Toyota Sequoia in the lot and
went into the business. He returned to his vehicle approximately an hour later and
discovered the catalytic convertor was taken off his vehicle. The investigation is
continuing.

January 21 at 2:37 p.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported in the area of Lemon and
Heliotrope. The victim parked his vehicle on January 20 at 6:15 p.m. He returned to his
vehicle the next day and found it had been broken into and ransacked. A handbag
containing a computer and a bag of tools were taken. The investigation is continuing.

January 21 at 2:40 p.m., a caller reported that a white Toyota Corolla had been parked
in the 1100 block of Carmelita Circle for several days and wanted it marked for 72 hour
parking. A computer check revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen out of
Whittier. The vehicle was recovered.

The victim parked her vehicle on the street the day before. She returned to the vehicle
the next day and found the interior had been ransacked. A pair of headphones and two
bags of new women's clothing that were left in the vehicle were taken. The investigation
is continuing.
Assault With a Deadly Weapon – Two Suspects Arrested
January 21 at 9:41 p.m., a male subject was talking on his phone in the 300 block of S.
Primrose. Three suspects walked by and began laughing at him. The victim walked
away and the suspects followed him. When he got to the corner of Lime and Primrose,
the suspects surrounded him. One of the suspects hit the victim several times in the
face. Another suspect pushed him in the back. The victim was pushed and hit by the
suspects. During the assault, one of the suspects took his belt off and struck the victim
twice with it, causing a laceration to his head. The suspects then fled, running west on
lemon and south on Magnolia. The victim notified police.
Officers arrived and checked the area. They located two of the suspects at a residence
in the 200 block of W. Colorado. The suspects were identified by the victim and
arrested. The investigation is continuing.

the 400 block of W. Duarte Road. Officers arrived and detained the subject. A computer
check revealed he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. During a pat-down search,
the subject was found to have a glass pipe and a small baggie of methamphetamine on
his person. He was arrested and taken into custody.

One driver rear ended the other. Officers arrived and determined there were no injuries.

January 22 at 4:36 a.m., an alarm company called to report an alarm activation at a
business in the 900 block of W. Duarte Road. Officers arrived and saw the glass to the
front doors had been smashed. Officers cleared the location, but no suspects were
located. It was determined that the suspects took the till from the cash register, but
there was no money inside the till at the time. The investigation is continuing.

of W. Huntington. The victim reported that her vehicle had been vandalized while it was
parked overnight in the hotel parking lot. The rear driver's side window was shattered.

Theft of Mail – Suspect Arrested
December 12 at 7:25 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of W. Evergreen regarding a male suspect seen taking mail from mailboxes. The officers arrived and detained the suspect. The suspect was in possession of numerous pieces of mail from Evergreen and Magnolia. A computer check revealed the suspect also had outstanding warrants for his arrest. The suspect was arrested for the theft of mail and the warrants. The theft of mail investigation was turned over to postal investigators.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
December 12 at 6:53 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of S. Magnolia regarding three subjects that were possibly intoxicated. Officers arrived and detained one of the subjects that was too intoxicated to care for himself. He was arrested and held for a sobering period.
Petty Theft
December 12 at 7:22 p.m., the victim of a petty theft came into the police station lobby to report his leaf blower had been stolen at around 9:00 a.m. that morning. The victim is a gardener. He was working when he saw a male adult take a leaf blower off his truck and drive away in a newer-model, blue Lexus. The investigation is continuing.

Palm. The suspect partially pried a screen off a window, but was not successful in
entering through the window. The resident discovered jewelry missing. It is unknown

Encinitas on the report of a burglary. The window in the back door to the home had
been smashed and entry was made. There were several miscellaneous items and

December 14 at 4:04 a.m., officers stopped to check out a suspicious vehicle in the 600
block of S. Alta Vista with its dome light on. Two subjects were located inside the
vehicle. A consent search revealed that both subjects were in possession of baggies of
cocaine. Both were arrested and taken into custody.
Theft of Mail
December 14 at 7:08 a.m., a theft of mail was reported at an apartment complex in the
100 block of N. Mountain. The suspect was in a white, newer-model, compact vehicle
with no plates and tinted windows. The suspect broke into the apartment mailboxes.
The suspect was described as a male white with a gray shirt, pants, and ball cap. The
suspect fled in a vehicle southbound on Mountain towards Foothill. Officers made an
area check, but were unable to locate the suspect. The investigation is continuing.
Felony Vandalism
December 14 at 4:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of
Hurstview regarding suspicious circumstances. The victim reported that her exboyfriend
came to her house and caused a disturbance. The victim has a restraining
order against her ex-boyfriend. He went to the location and intentionally rammed her
parked vehicle with his vehicle when she refused to let him inside her residence. The
suspect then fled the scene in his vehicle. The victim’s vehicle sustained moderate
damage. Officers searched the area for the suspect, but were not able to locate him. A
charge of felony vandalism will be sought against the suspect. The investigation is
continuing.
Driving Under the Influence / Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession
of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
December 15 at 12:20 a.m., a subject was reported inside a vehicle in the 500 block of
Myrtle. The vehicle engine was running and the driver appeared to be unconscious.
Officers arrived and contacted the driver, who was passed out. He had parked his
vehicle sideways in the parking stalls along Myrtle. The officers could see drug
paraphernalia in plain view in the vehicle. A further search of the vehicle revealed two
baggies of methamphetamine. The driver was arrested for DUI, possession of drug
paraphernalia and methamphetamine. His vehicle was stored.

Highlighted Activity for December 1-4, 2016
Petty Theft
December 1 at 10:00 a.m., a petty theft was reported at a business in the 600 block of S. Myrtle. A commercial grade push-cart was taken from the rear of the business. Surveillance footage shows the theft occurred on November 28, 2016. The male suspect was seen riding a bicycle while pushing the cart away from the business. The investigation is still continuing.
Assault with a Deadly Weapon
December 1 at 4:55 p.m., an officer responded to the report of an assault in the area of Cherry and Primrose. The victims drove into the alley and one of them exited the vehicle. The victims were confronted by five male subjects, the subjects yelled "This is Monrovia" and threw two bricks towards the victims and their vehicle. The victims got back in the vehicle and reversed out of the alley in attempts to get away while the subjects continued running towards them. The incident is being investigated.
Vehicle Burglary / Grand Theft Auto Recovery
December 1 at 9:03 p.m., officers were dispatched on the report of a vehicle burglary in the 600 block of W. Foothill. The victim walked out of her office to the back parking lot and found a suspect inside her vehicle. The victim yelled at the suspect who fled on foot. When officers arrived they located a 1994 Toyota Prius with the engine running parked next to the victim’s vehicle. The investigation revealed the Toyota was a reported stolen vehicle from La Puente. The stolen vehicle was recovered and the investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft
December 2 at 11:45 a.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 1500 block of Encino. The victim’s catalytic converter was stolen from the victim’s vehicle the night before.
Grand Theft Auto
December 2 at 12:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Genoa on the report of a stolen vehicle. A package was taken from the front porch of the residence several days ago and a key to the stolen vehicle was inside the package. The victim
said he parked and secured his vehicle in front of the location the night before. The victim believes the subject(s) returned with the stolen key. The investigation is continuing.
Shoplifting
December 2 at 2:08 p.m., dispatch received a call from a business in the 700 block of E. Huntington Dr. regarding a theft that had just occurred. The subject was seen taking items without paying. The suspect was detained outside the business and held until officers arrived. The suspect was identified and cited.

December 2 at 3:03 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 300 block of W. Huntington Dr. regarding a theft. A male subject left the store without paying for merchandise. The store employees called the police and provided a description of the
subject. The officers located a subject matching that description. The suspect was detained and cited.
Grand Theft
December 2 at 4:20 p.m., a resident in the 200 block of E. Lemon called police to report that her catalytic converter was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked in front of her residence. The investigation is continuing.
Residential Burglary
December 2 at 11:49 a.m. an officer responded to a report of a residential burglary in the 1000 block of Orange. The victim left at 7:30 a.m. and upon her return, she found her home had been ransacked. The investigation revealed forced entry was made through a rear window where the suspect(s) stole jewelry and other miscellaneous property. Suspect(s) exited through the front door. The investigation is continuing.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect arrested
December 2 at 7:24 p.m., dispatch received a call regarding the driver of a vehicle driving erratically in the 600 block of S. Myrtle. Officers located the vehicle and made a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation. The investigation revealed the driver was too intoxicated to drive a motor vehicle. The suspect was arrested.
Vandalism
December 3 at 9:50 a.m., an officer was dispatched on the report of a vandalism in the 400 block of S. Alta Vista Dr. The caller reported that the large front bay window to her residence had been shattered sometime during the night before. A piece of a brick was located on the porch below the shattered window.

December 3 at 10:51 a.m., a vandalism was reported in the 300 block of E. Olive. The victim parked her vehicle in front of her residence the evening before and upon her return she discovered the side window to her vehicle had been shattered. Nothing was missing from the vehicle.
Vandalism
December 3 at 11:49 a.m., a caller reported a vandalism to her vehicle in the 400 block of Hurstview. The victim said she parked her vehicle in front of her residence the night before and when she returned she found a side window had been shattered. She found a brick wrapped in Christmas paper inside her vehicle. There were three additional bricks wrapped in Christmas paper laying on the ground outside her vehicle.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
December 3 at 3:00 p.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious person inside the bank in the 100 block of W. Foothill. Officers contacted the person in question and the subject explained he had a check and the bank would not honor it. The check appeared fraudulent and the officers told the subject he might be the victim of fraud. The subject was upset that the bank would not cash the check but agreed to leave and look into the possibility that the check might be a fraud. A few minutes after all parties left, the bank called the police to report the subject was back and yelling at employees. Officers returned to the location and arrested the subject on two small warrants.
Hit & Run Traffic Collision
December 4 at 7:23 p.m., dispatch received a call regarding a hit & run traffic collision in the area of California and Colorado. The suspect’s vehicle rear-ended a vehicle that was stopped at a stop sign and fled the scene. The occupants in the vehicle that was rear-ended were not injured. An extensive search was conducted for the suspect vehicle with negative results. The investigation is continuing.

December 4 at 10:31 p.m., a caller reported a hit & run traffic collision in the 100 block of S. Fifth. The caller stated he was driving north on Fifth approaching the intersection of Foothill. The suspect’s vehicle was traveling behind him and suddenly passed him on the left. When the suspect vehicle was passing the victim's vehicle, he clipped the driver's side rear fender. The suspect vehicle fled the scene. The victim was not injured. An extensive search was conducted for the suspect vehicle with negative results. The investigation is continuing.

Driving Under the Influence / Possession of Drugs / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Child Endangerment – Suspect Arrested
October 17 at 6:33 a.m., officers responded to the report of a vehicle stopped in the middle of the roadway with the engine running in the 400 block of N. Alta Vista. Officers arrived and found a female driver passed out behind the wheel with her 8-year-old son in the vehicle. She admitted that she had used drugs throughout the night. Drugs and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle. The suspect also had outstanding warrants for her arrest. She was arrested and taken into custody. The Department of Children and Family Services responded to take custody of the child.
Trespassing – Suspect Arrested
October 17 at 10:11 a.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 700 block of E. Huntington regarding a trespassing suspect who refuses to abide by the no trespassing order prohibiting him from being at the location. He has repeatedly returned to the location, despite numerous arrests, and he continues to cause disturbances at the business. He was arrested and held due to the likelihood of reoccurrence. He will be held until his court date.
Residential Burglary
October 17 at 3:15 p.m., a residential burglary was reported in the 100 block of W. Greystone. One of the residents arrived home and found the home ransacked. The loss is undetermined and the investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Vandalisms
October 18 at 3:40 a.m., a victim of vandalism called police to report that a window on his vehicle had been smashed. The vehicle was parked in the 100 block of W. Lemon Avenue. An officer arrived and located a total of four vehicles with smashed windows. All four victims were contacted and it appears that nothing was taken from the vehicles after the windows were smashed. No suspects were located. The investigation is continuing.
Vandalism
October 18 at 3:54 a.m., an alarm company called to report an activation at a business
in the 1500 block of S. Myrtle Avenue. Officers arrived and found that an unknown
suspect threw a rock that struck the front window, causing it to break. The investigation
is continuing.
Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Suspect Arrested
October 18 at 9:15 a.m., officers and the Foothill Air Support Team helicopter
responded to an apartment complex in the 400 block of Genoa regarding an intoxicated
family member chasing other family members with a knife. All of the family members
were outside of the residence when officers arrived and the suspect was still inside.
Officers were able to talk the suspect into coming out of the residence and they
detained him.
Family members reported that the suspect is an alcoholic. The adult son said he was
involved in a verbal argument with his father when his father grabbed a knife and
charged after him. The son held his father against the wall while the other family
members ran outside. As the son was attempting to flee through the front door, he hit
the father with the front door as he opened it, causing injury to the father's head. The
suspect was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and taken to a hospital, where
he was treated and cleared for booking, then taken into custody.
Stolen Vehicle – Suspect Arrested
October 18 at 11:52 a.m., officers located a stolen vehicle in the area of Myrtle and
Chestnut with three occupants inside. They followed the vehicle to a parking lot, where
they conducted a high-risk stop. Further investigation revealed the vehicle had been
reported stolen by a rental car service in Santa Monica. The vehicle was rented with
fraudulent documents. The driver was the only suspect arrested.
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Warrant – Suspect Arrested
October 18 at 7:19 p.m., a theft in progress in the 500 block of Huntington was reported
to police. A male and female were detained in the parking lot. The investigation showed
there was no theft, but the female was found to have a warrant for her arrest and was in
possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested and taken into custody.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
October 19 at 8:31 a.m., a domestic violence incident was reported at a residence in the
300 block of Oakcliff. A male and female subject became involved in an argument over
text messages. The couple are no longer in a dating relationship, but are still living
together. The male subject pushed the female and then began choking her. When she
began calling police, he simulated a gun with his fingers and told her he should kill her.
Officers arrived and the suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Driving Under the Influence / Traffic Collision – Suspect Arrested
October 19 at 8:43 a.m., a driver was traveling on Peck and lost control of his vehicle.
The vehicle hit a wall and a fire hydrant, and then flipped. The investigation revealed the
driver was under the influence of drugs. The driver was arrested and taken into custody.
Commercial Burglary
October 19 at 9:41 a.m., an officer responded to a church in the 1300 block of S.
Magnolia Avenue regarding a break-in. The suspect entered by removing slats from a
window and took several blankets. The investigation is continuing.
Felony Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
October 19 at 7:47 p.m., an officer was hailed down by a subject in a vehicle near
Magnolia and Evergreen. The subject pointed out a vehicle and reported that the driver
of the vehicle was threatening him. The officer saw the vehicle in question. As the driver
attempted to drive away, he committed two vehicle code violations and was stopped by
the officer on Evergreen. When the officer contacted the driver, he noticed the driver
seemed intoxicated. The officer conducted field sobriety tests and arrested the driver for
DUI. A records check of the driver revealed he had three other DUI convictions within
the last ten years, which made this charge a felony.
