Theft From a Vehicle
May 29 at 10:56 a.m., officers responded to the 1200 block of S. Alta Vista regarding a
theft from a vehicle. The victim reported that she had secured her vehicle the day before
at 2:00 p.m. When she returned to her vehicle and entered, she realized it was
unlocked. She then saw items strewn about the vehicle. The items had previously been
in the glovebox and center console. She reported that several items were missing.
There was no sign of forced entry. The investigation is continuing.
Hit & Run Traffic Collison / Stolen Vehicle Recovered
May 29 at 9:27 p.m., a hit and run traffic collision was reported at Encinitas and Foothill.
The suspect vehicle hit a parked vehicle. The driver exited the suspect vehicle and
entered a silver sedan that fled the area. The suspect vehicle that remained unoccupied
at the collision was found to be a stolen vehicle reported to the Los Angeles Police
Department the day prior. A silver sedan resembling the description of the vehicle the
suspect fled in was stopped by officers nearby, but none of the witnesses were able to
identify the suspect or the vehicle that fled the location. The subjects were identified and
released. The investigation is continuing.
Assault – Suspect Arrested
May 30 at 3:51 p.m., police dispatch received a call from a subject reporting her
boyfriend had been involved in a fight at a business in the 700 block of E. Huntington
and he was unconscious. Officers responded and determined two subjects had been
involved in a fight. The victim sustained injuries to his face and the suspect had fled the
scene. The officer conducted further investigation, identified the suspect and entered a
wanted person entry into the law enforcement database for the suspect's arrest.
On May 31, the suspect came to the Monrovia Police Department Lobby and turned
himself in to police. The suspect was arrested without incident.
Violation of Restraining Order
May 30 at 7:55 p.m., a suspicious vehicle was reported to police with its engine running
in a business parking lot in the 2100 block of S. Myrtle. Officers arrived on scene and
detained two subjects inside the vehicle. A computer check revealed there was a
domestic violence restraining order against one of the parties and the other party was
the protected person of the order. The protected person advised that he voluntarily
picked up the restrained subject because she was hitch-hiking from Arizona. Officers
arrested the restrained person and took her into custody for violation of the court order

Highlighted Activity for May 18-21, 2017
Stolen Vehicles.
May 18 in the early morning hours, three vehicles were reported stolen to police. The vehicles were stolen from the 100 block of W. Walnut, the 400 block of W. Walnut and the 300 block of N. Encinitas. Two of the vehicles stolen were 1999 Honda CRVs and the third was a race car and trailer. All three vehicles were stolen sometime overnight. The investigations are continuing.
Theft From a Vehicle
May 18 at 12:15 p.m., a resident in the 400 block of E. Walnut called police to report a theft from his vehicle. Sometime during the night, someone entered his vehicle and stole his wallet and miscellaneous property. The vehicle was left unlocked. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft
May 18 at 9:09 p.m., a grand theft was reported in the 1200 block of S. Alta Vista. The victim parked his vehicle on the street in front of the location. While he was away from the vehicle, the catalytic converter was stolen. The investigation is continuing.
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
May 18 at 9:52 p.m., an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation at Shamrock and Royal Oaks. During a consent search, the passenger of the vehicle was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested and taken into custody.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
May 18 at 12:36 a.m., officers responded to the 700 block of W. Huntington regarding a possible theft of a bicycle. During the investigation, they ran a computer check on one of the subjects at the location and discovered he had an outstanding warrant. He was arrested for the warrant.
Traffic Collision – Vehicle vs. Pedestrian
May 19 at 6:45 a.m., police responded to a traffic collision in the 100 block of E. Pomona where a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle. Officers arrived and determined the pedestrian was walking south across Pomona toward a gas station. The vehicle was
traveling east on Pomona and the driver had the sun in his eyes. He did not see the
pedestrian and struck him at a low rate of speed. The pedestrian suffered minor injuries
and refused medical treatment. The driver was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian.
Vehicle Burglary
May 19 at 8:15 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 400 block of W. Duarte
Road. The victim parked and locked his vehicle in his assigned carport. Sometime
during the early morning hours, the vehicle was entered and ransacked. There was no
sign of forced entry and no loss occurred. The investigation is continuing.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
May 19 at 6:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Myrtle and the 210
Freeway regarding a possible drunk driver. The officers checked the area and located
the vehicle on Duarte and Myrtle. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was
determined to be too intoxicated to operate a motor vehicle safely. The driver was
arrested for DUI and later released after a sobering period, with a citation to appear in
court on the charges.
Assault With a Deadly Weapon / Ex-Felon in Possession of a Firearm – Suspect
Arrested
May 19 at 8:29 p.m., dispatch received a call reporting a family disturbance at a
residence in the 500 block of E. Walnut. While officers were responding, calls were
received stating a gunshot had been fired. Officers arrived, secured the scene and
conducted an investigation. The investigation revealed an adult male suspect at the
location pulled a 9mm handgun on his girlfriend's sister and pointed it at her. He
discharged the gun, missing the victim and striking the ground. The weapon was
recovered at the scene and the suspect was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon
and ex-felon in possession of a firearm.

May 20 at 10:28 a.m., a theft from an unlocked vehicle was reported in the 300 block of
Meadow Lane. The victim called to report that sometime during the early morning hours,
someone entered his vehicle and took a drill that had been left inside. The investigation
is continuing.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
May 21 at 6:10 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Myrtle and the 210
Freeway regarding a vehicle blocking the roadway. The officers arrived and located a
vehicle blocking the northbound lanes of travel. A female subject was asleep behind the
wheel and the engine was running. A passenger was in the front seat, also asleep. The
investigation revealed both subjects were extremely intoxicated. The driver was
arrested for DUI and the passenger was arrested for being drunk in public. Both
subjects were held for a sobering period.

Petty Theft From a Vehicle
May 5 at 8:30 a.m., two vehicles on a property in the 400 block of Scenic were left unlocked overnight. Someone went through the vehicles during the night and stole several items. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary
May 5 at 12:19 p.m., a petty theft from a vehicle was reported at a business parking lot in the 200 block of E. Huntington. The victim parked their vehicle in the parking lot and returned to find their windows had been shattered and miscellaneous items were stolen. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary / Grand Theft
May 4 at 1:00 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a business in the 700 block of W. Huntington regarding a grand theft. The victim parked their vehicle in the parking lot and went into the business. When they returned to their vehicle, they saw a window had been smashed and their camera equipment that was in the vehicle had been stolen. The investigation is continuing.
Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
May 4 at 3:55 p.m., loss prevention personnel at a business in the 300 block of W. Huntington phoned police to report they had detained a male suspect for petty theft. The suspect had left the store with merchandise without paying. The suspect was arrested and received a citation to appear in court on the charges.
Residential Burglary
May 4 at 8:51 p.m., officers responded to a residential burglary in the 400 block of N. Primrose. The victims arrived home and went inside to find their house had been ransacked and the suspects were still inside the location. As the victims entered, the suspects fled out of the house and through a neighbor's yard. The victims ran outside and saw the suspects getting into a waiting vehicle. The vehicle is described as a silver Subaru hatchback with paper plates that said "Sierra." The three suspects were all male and were wearing hooded sweatshirts. The loss is still being determined and the investigation is continuing.
Trespassing / Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
May 4 at 10:01 p.m., residents in the 200 block of Montana called police stating they were detaining a subject who was trespassing and refusing to leave. Officers arrived and learned the father was restraining his son. The officer told the father to let go and the officer detained the subject. The officer searched the subject and located a large quantity of methamphetamine and powder cocaine. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Armed Robbery
May 4 at 11:10 p.m., police dispatch received a robbery alarm activation from the 7- Eleven in the 900 block of W. Duarte Road. Officers arrived and made contact with the employee who pushed the robbery button. He said he had been robbed at gunpoint. The victim described the suspects as male Blacks wearing dark colored hooded sweatshirts. One suspect had a black handgun.
The suspects entered the business and asked for a package of cigars. When the employee turned around, he saw one of the suspects had a gun pointed at him. The other suspect told the employee he wanted the money from the register. The employee opened the one register and set the till on the counter. The suspects told him to open the other register. The employee told the suspects he did not have the pin number to open it. They became impatient and left the store on foot with the till from the one register. An area check was completed, but the suspects were not located and the investigation is continuing.
There were multiple armed robberies with similar suspect information at other 7-Elevens in the San Gabriel Valley that same night, as well as on Tuesday, May 2, 2017.
Vehicle Burglaries
May 5 at 4:13 a.m., two vehicles were reported burglarized at a residence in the 1000 block of Norumbega Drive. The victim heard his vehicle alarm sounding, so he came outside to investigate and saw his trunk open and his driver-side window shattered. Two pairs of tennis shoes were taken from the trunk. A second vehicle that belongs to the victim’s girlfriend was also burglarized and the window shattered. A keychain with several keys and an access key card was taken from the vehicle.
At 6:01 a.m., a resident in the 700 block of Norumbega Drive reported two vehicles had been broken into and items were taken. Both vehicles had their windows shattered. The investigation revealed the suspects were casing the area in a dark-colored Ford Explorer and the crime occurred between 4:00 to 4:09 a.m. The investigations are continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
May 5 at 12:21 p.m., an officer was returning from court and saw a subject he knew had warrants out for his arrest. The subject was riding his bicycle in the area of Myrtle and Cypress. A computer check revealed the subject had four warrants for resisting arrest and driving under the influence on a bike. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody without incident.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
May 5 at 9:49 p.m., dispatch received multiple calls reporting a subject lying down on the railroad tracks at Duarte and Mayflower. Metro also called and said they had stopped the train due to the subject on the tracks. Officers responded and located the subject, but he was no longer on the tracks. The subject was extremely intoxicated and was unable to care for his own safety. He was arrested for being drunk in public and held for a sobering period.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
May 6 at 3:04 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the area of Central and Myrtle when he saw a vehicle commit a traffic code violation. He stopped the vehicle and when speaking to the driver, he could smell the odor of alcohol. Through investigation, the driver was determined to be under the influence and was arrested and taken into custody.
Grand Theft
May 6 at 6:58 a.m., a grand theft from a vehicle was reported in the 400 block of W. Scenic. The victim called to report his specialized tools had been stolen from his unsecured vehicle. He had left his vehicle parked on Heather Heights for several days and when he returned to his vehicle, the tools were gone. The investigation is continuing.
Domestic Battery – Suspect Arrested
May 6 at 1:34 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Walnut on a welfare check. The female subject was concerned about the well-being of her boyfriend, who had left the location. During the investigation, it was discovered that the female subject was a victim of domestic battery. Officers located the suspect in Bradbury and placed him under arrest without incident.
Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
May 6 at 2:34 p.m., loss prevention from a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington called police to report a suspect had stolen merchandise and was running from the location. Officers responded and located the suspect attempting to hide nearby. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Critical Missing – Subject Located
May 6 at 9:45 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of E. Walnut regarding a developmentally disabled, 17-year-old male who was visiting and had wandered away from the location. Officers immediately began an area check and surrounding agencies were contacted, as well as the Foothill Air Support Team helicopter. The subject was located by Monrovia’s Special Enforcement Team officers in Arcadia after approximately 30 minutes and was returned to his family.
Vandalism / Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
May 6 at 11:39 p.m., a subject causing a disturbance at a business in the 1500 block of S. Myrtle was reported to police. Officers arrived and detained a subject who was under the influence and had confronted two customers, vandalizing one of their vehicles. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
May 7 at 2:18 p.m., a shoplifting incident was reported at a business in the 1600 block of S. Mountain. A male suspect entered the business, selected merchandise and left the store without paying for the items. The suspect dropped the items as he ran out of the store. Officers located the suspect in the area and learned he also had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody for shoplifting and the warrants.
Public Intoxication
May 7 at 10:35 p.m., officers responded to the 1800 block of Eighth Avenue regarding a man down. They arrived and found a male subject lying on the driveway of a home that did not belong to him. Officers determined he was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. He was arrested for being drunk in public and held for a sobering period.

May 1 at 12:12 p.m., a subject came into the police department lobby regarding a possible mental health issue. The investigation revealed the subject was not in any mental health distress; however, he did have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The subject was arrested and is being held pending his court appearance.

May 1 at 5:06 p.m., a resident in the 800 block of Norumbega called police to report a bear inside her home. The bear broke through a window to gain access. The Department of Fish and Wildlife was notified. They responded and relocated the bear.

May 3 at 1:07 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 600 block of W. Huntington when he conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a vehicle code violation. A computer check of the subject revealed a warrant. The subject was arrested for the warrant and was found to also be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

May 3 at 3:45 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of E. Olive regarding a male adult subject causing a disturbance. Officers arrived and detained the subject. A computer check revealed he had four warrants for his arrest. The subject was arrested and taken into custody.

May 3 at 1:54 p.m., a resident in the 900 block of S. Mayflower called police to report her son, whom she has a restraining order against, was at the location refusing to leave. Officers arrived and located the subject in the mother’s vehicle. He was arrested for violation of the restraining order. He was later released with a citation to appear in court on the charges.

May 3 at 7:17 p.m., an officer responded to a traffic collision at Mountain and Central. A vehicle traveling west on Central ran the red traffic signal at Mountain and collided into a vehicle traveling south on Mountain. One subject complained of pain and was taken to a nearby hospital.
Carrying an Air Gun within a City Park / Being in a Park After Hours – Suspect Arrested
May 4 at 12:03 a.m., officers were on patrol in the 300 block of S. Myrtle and saw a subject sitting near the entrance to the library after the park was closed. Due to it being after park hours, the officers contacted the subject. During a pat-down search, officers recovered a BB gun in the subject's pocket. The subject was arrested for the violations. The subject was later released with a citation to appear in court.

May 4 at 4:34 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 600 block of Vaquero Road. The victim’s vehicle was parked in the driveway. The victim looked outside from the
second story window and saw the suspect inside her vehicle. She yelled out the window and the suspect fled. The suspect entered the vehicle by prying the passenger side of the vehicle open. The loss is unknown at this time. The investigation is continuing.

May 4 at 4:59 p.m., a grand theft was reported in the 600 block of S. Magnolia. The victim heard power tools outside of his residence and saw two subjects in hooded sweatshirts near his vehicle. One of the subjects yelled to the other and they fled in a silver Honda Element, heading north on Magnolia and out of sight. The victim checked his vehicle and discovered his catalytic converter was taken from his Honda Element. The investigation is continuing.

Highlighted Activity for April 27-30, 2017
Hit & Run Traffic Collision April 27 at 9:51 a.m., officers responded to Magnolia and Evergreen on the report of a hit and run traffic collision. The suspect driver rear-ended a vehicle and fled the scene. Officers checked the area for the suspect vehicle and located it in the 400 block of Andre in the city of Duarte. The driver of the vehicle was also located and he had sustained injuries from the accident when his head hit the windshield. The windshield had cracked and lacerated his forehead. The vehicle was towed and the driver was taken to a hospital for treatment. The driver admitted to being involved in the collision.
Grand Theft Auto April 27 at 7:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 500 block of W. Huntington regarding a stolen vehicle report. The victim left his keys unattended on a table inside of a restaurant for approximately ten minutes. When he returned to the table, he realized his keys were gone. He went out to the parking lot and saw that his vehicle had been stolen. The investigation is continuing.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered / Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested April 28 at 7:25 a.m., a suspicious person was reported at a business in the 2100 block of S. Myrtle. A female subject entered the location and was driving around inside the property. A worker thought the female was acting suspicious and phoned police to report the activity. Officers arrived and located the vehicle. The investigation revealed that the vehicle was stolen and the female suspect was under the influence. She was arrested and the vehicle was recovered and returned to the owner.
Vandalism Incident April 28 at 8:39 a.m., officers responded to the 1100 block of Sesmas regarding a vandalism incident. The victim reported that the windows on her vehicle had been shattered. A female adult in a dark colored SUV was seen driving up to the victim's vehicle. The female exited the SUV and proceeded to shatter multiple windows on the vehicle. She then got back into the SUV and left the area. The investigation is continuing. Grand Theft Auto Recovered April 28 at 6:10 p.m., an abandoned vehicle was reported in the 100 block of E. Cypress. The black Chevy Tahoe had been parked there for three days. The license plate number was checked and it returned to a vehicle reported stolen out of Pomona. Officers responded and recovered the vehicle.
Assault Report April 28 at 9:36 p.m., a nurse from a local hospital phoned police to report a subject in the ER that had been assaulted in Monrovia. Officers responded and spoke to the subject, who said he had been assaulted at a bar in the 1500 block of S. Myrtle. He said he had been drinking and playing pool. At approximately 8:00 p.m., he stepped out to the back alley to use the restroom when he was assaulted. He didn't know the suspects, but believes there were three of them. The victim had some facial wounds and some bruising to his upper torso area, where he was possibly hit or kicked. The investigation is continuing.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested April 28 at 10:25 p.m., an officer was on patrol the area of Mountain and Royal Oaks when he saw a vehicle traveling on the opposite side of the road. He stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, who displayed symptoms of being intoxicated. After performing field sobriety tests, the driver was arrested for DUI.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested April 28 at 10:40 p.m., officers were dispatched to the report of a disturbing subject at Foothill and Magnolia. The subject was shining a flashlight at drivers. An officer responded and located the subject at Magnolia and Chestnut. The officer stopped to talk to him and a computer check revealed he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Theft From a Vehicle April 29 at 10:15 a.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 600 block of W. Foothill. The victim reported that they parked their vehicle on Highland the day before, and when they returned to the vehicle the next day, they saw items were missing. The vehicle had been left unlocked. The investigation is continuing.
Petty Theft April 29 at 12:45 p.m., a theft was reported at a business in the 400 block of W. Maple. A female adult walked into the business and took a cell phone and pair of shoes that belonged to a customer who was taking a class. The investigation is continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested April 29 at 10:19 p.m., an employee at a business in the 200 block of W. Huntington called police to report a disturbing female inside the location who was throwing items. They asked her to leave and she refused. Officers arrived and spoke to the subject. A computer check revealed an outstanding warrant for her arrest. She was arrested and taken into custody for the warrant.
Intoxicated in Public – Suspect Arrested April 29 at 11:05 p.m., officers responded to the report of a man down on the sidewalk in the 100 block of Montana. Officers arrived, made contact with the subject and determined he was intoxicated. The subject was unable to care for his own safety and was arrested for being drunk in public. He was held for a sobering period.
Intoxicated in Public – Suspect arrested April 30 at 1:28 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the area of Myrtle and Colorado when he noticed a male subject walking on the sidewalk, having some difficulty. The officer made contact with the subject and realized he was intoxicated and unable to care for his own safety. The subject was arrested for being drunk in public and was held for sobering.
Theft From a Vehicle April 30 at 11:41 a.m., a resident in the 1000 block of Orange called police to report a theft from his vehicle. The theft occurred sometime overnight and the suspect(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and stole a bag of tools. The investigation is continuing.

False Evidence of Registration / Ex-Felon in Possession of Firearm – Suspects Arrested
February 23 at 5:14 p.m., an officer on patrol in the 200 block of E. Lime Avenue stopped a vehicle for a vehicle code violation. The vehicle registration was expired, but the vehicle displayed current registration stickers. The officer obtained permission to search the vehicle and a gun was found inside. One of the two occupants in the vehicle was an ex-felon. Both occupants were arrested. The gun was not registered to either of the subjects and had not been reported stolen.
Grand Theft Auto
February 23 at 7:14 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 500 block of E. Lime. The vehicle was parked on the street overnight. When the owner returned to the vehicle in the morning, it was gone. The vehicle is a white Ford Focus. The investigation is continuing.
Injury Traffic Collision
February 23 at 10:16 p.m., a solo vehicle traffic collision involving injuries occurred at Myrtle and Foothill. The driver was heading west on Foothill, approaching Myrtle, when he fell asleep at the wheel, momentarily. When he awoke, he swerved and lost control of the vehicle, colliding into the wall of the bank building on the corner. No other vehicles were involved and the driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
February 24 at 5:04 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Myrtle and Duarte on the report of a vehicle in the roadway with someone slumped over the steering wheel. Officers arrived and determined the driver was intoxicated. He was arrested for driving under the influence.
Vehicle Code Violation / Warrants – Suspects Arrested
February 24 at 5:30 p.m., an officer on patrol stopped a vehicle for a vehicle code violation in the 200 block of E. Duarte Road. Two of the occupants had outstanding warrants and were subsequently arrested for the warrants. The driver was found to be operating the vehicle on a suspended license. The vehicle was stored.
Grand Theft
February 25 at 9:22 p.m., a grand theft was reported at a business in the 600 block of S. Myrtle. An unknown suspect entered the business and took cash from a backpack behind the counter. The investigation is continuing.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
February 26 at 2:31 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Montana regarding possible domestic violence occurring. The reporting party could hear a male yelling and a female crying. Officers arrived and found the female subject had visible injuries on her face. The male subject was arrested for domestic violence.

February 26 at 10:15 a.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 1300 block of S. Alta Vista. The victim reported that the license plates were stolen off his vehicle, along with items from inside. The vehicle was left unlocked. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary
February 26 at 12:18 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported at a business parking lot in the 700 block of W. Huntington. The victim parked her vehicle in the lot at 7:00 a.m. When she returned to her vehicle around noon, the window had been smashed and her purse had been stolen from the vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
Drug Activity / Counterfeit Currency / Possession of Burglary Tools – Suspect Arrested
February 26 at 2:46 p.m., officers went to a residence in the 700 block of W. Colorado to conduct a probation compliance search of a male juvenile. The search revealed the juvenile was in possession of heroin, counterfeit currency and burglary tools. He was arrested and later released to his family.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
February 26 at 9:07 p.m., dispatch received a call reporting a male subject that was lying in the road. An officer responded to the area and located the subject. The subject was extremely intoxicated and refused to provide his name. He was arrested for being drunk in public and held for a sobering period.

Highlighted Activity for December 1-4, 2016
Petty Theft
December 1 at 10:00 a.m., a petty theft was reported at a business in the 600 block of S. Myrtle. A commercial grade push-cart was taken from the rear of the business. Surveillance footage shows the theft occurred on November 28, 2016. The male suspect was seen riding a bicycle while pushing the cart away from the business. The investigation is still continuing.
Assault with a Deadly Weapon
December 1 at 4:55 p.m., an officer responded to the report of an assault in the area of Cherry and Primrose. The victims drove into the alley and one of them exited the vehicle. The victims were confronted by five male subjects, the subjects yelled "This is Monrovia" and threw two bricks towards the victims and their vehicle. The victims got back in the vehicle and reversed out of the alley in attempts to get away while the subjects continued running towards them. The incident is being investigated.
Vehicle Burglary / Grand Theft Auto Recovery
December 1 at 9:03 p.m., officers were dispatched on the report of a vehicle burglary in the 600 block of W. Foothill. The victim walked out of her office to the back parking lot and found a suspect inside her vehicle. The victim yelled at the suspect who fled on foot. When officers arrived they located a 1994 Toyota Prius with the engine running parked next to the victim’s vehicle. The investigation revealed the Toyota was a reported stolen vehicle from La Puente. The stolen vehicle was recovered and the investigation is continuing.

December 2 at 11:45 a.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 1500 block of Encino. The victim’s catalytic converter was stolen from the victim’s vehicle the night before.

December 2 at 12:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Genoa on the report of a stolen vehicle. A package was taken from the front porch of the residence several days ago and a key to the stolen vehicle was inside the package. The victim
said he parked and secured his vehicle in front of the location the night before. The victim believes the subject(s) returned with the stolen key. The investigation is continuing.

December 2 at 2:08 p.m., dispatch received a call from a business in the 700 block of E. Huntington Dr. regarding a theft that had just occurred. The subject was seen taking items without paying. The suspect was detained outside the business and held until officers arrived. The suspect was identified and cited.

December 2 at 3:03 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 300 block of W. Huntington Dr. regarding a theft. A male subject left the store without paying for merchandise. The store employees called the police and provided a description of the

December 2 at 4:20 p.m., a resident in the 200 block of E. Lemon called police to report that her catalytic converter was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked in front of her residence. The investigation is continuing.
Residential Burglary
December 2 at 11:49 a.m. an officer responded to a report of a residential burglary in the 1000 block of Orange. The victim left at 7:30 a.m. and upon her return, she found her home had been ransacked. The investigation revealed forced entry was made through a rear window where the suspect(s) stole jewelry and other miscellaneous property. Suspect(s) exited through the front door. The investigation is continuing.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect arrested
December 2 at 7:24 p.m., dispatch received a call regarding the driver of a vehicle driving erratically in the 600 block of S. Myrtle. Officers located the vehicle and made a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation. The investigation revealed the driver was too intoxicated to drive a motor vehicle. The suspect was arrested.

December 3 at 9:50 a.m., an officer was dispatched on the report of a vandalism in the 400 block of S. Alta Vista Dr. The caller reported that the large front bay window to her residence had been shattered sometime during the night before. A piece of a brick was located on the porch below the shattered window.

December 3 at 10:51 a.m., a vandalism was reported in the 300 block of E. Olive. The victim parked her vehicle in front of her residence the evening before and upon her return she discovered the side window to her vehicle had been shattered. Nothing was missing from the vehicle.
Vandalism
December 3 at 11:49 a.m., a caller reported a vandalism to her vehicle in the 400 block of Hurstview. The victim said she parked her vehicle in front of her residence the night before and when she returned she found a side window had been shattered. She found a brick wrapped in Christmas paper inside her vehicle. There were three additional bricks wrapped in Christmas paper laying on the ground outside her vehicle.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
December 3 at 3:00 p.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious person inside the bank in the 100 block of W. Foothill. Officers contacted the person in question and the subject explained he had a check and the bank would not honor it. The check appeared fraudulent and the officers told the subject he might be the victim of fraud. The subject was upset that the bank would not cash the check but agreed to leave and look into the possibility that the check might be a fraud. A few minutes after all parties left, the bank called the police to report the subject was back and yelling at employees. Officers returned to the location and arrested the subject on two small warrants.
Hit & Run Traffic Collision
December 4 at 7:23 p.m., dispatch received a call regarding a hit & run traffic collision in the area of California and Colorado. The suspect’s vehicle rear-ended a vehicle that was stopped at a stop sign and fled the scene. The occupants in the vehicle that was rear-ended were not injured. An extensive search was conducted for the suspect vehicle with negative results. The investigation is continuing.

December 4 at 10:31 p.m., a caller reported a hit & run traffic collision in the 100 block of S. Fifth. The caller stated he was driving north on Fifth approaching the intersection of Foothill. The suspect’s vehicle was traveling behind him and suddenly passed him on the left. When the suspect vehicle was passing the victim's vehicle, he clipped the driver's side rear fender. The suspect vehicle fled the scene. The victim was not injured. An extensive search was conducted for the suspect vehicle with negative results. The investigation is continuing.

Theft from a Vehicle
July 14 at 10:15 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 100 block of W. Pomona on the report of a vehicle burglary. The victim left his vehicle unlocked in the parking lot of a business. When the victim returned to his vehicle he noticed his tools and keys had been stolen from inside the vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
Theft from a Vehicle
July 14 at 1:25 p.m., a resident in the 200 block of N. May called police to report a theft. The victim was doing work on a house and left his work van parked in front of the house with the back doors open. The victim heard a noise, looked out to his van and saw a subject fleeing with one of the victim’s tool bags. The suspect fled in a grey sedan. The investigation is continuing.
Mail Theft / Possession of Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
July 14 at 4:05 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of W. Pomona regarding the report of a mail theft. The caller witnessed a subject stealing mail. Officers searched the area and located the suspect sitting on the bench in front of the Metro Station. Further investigation revealed the suspect was in possession of stolen mail, a controlled substance and smoking paraphernalia. The suspect was arrested and booked for the above listed charges.
Home Invasion Robbery
July 15 at 1:57 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of E. Lemon to the report of a home invasion robbery that just occurred. The victim reported that armed male subjects with handguns kicked a rear glass sliding door and forced the residents to lay on the floor with their faces to the ground. The suspects ordered the male victim to open the gun safe then took possession of several weapons. The suspects were in and out of the residence quickly and did not physically harm anyone. Officers did an area check but were unable to locate the suspects. The investigation is continuing.

July 12 at 3:10 a.m., a resident in the 900 block of S. Canyon called to report two suspects breaking into the resident’s mail box. The suspects removed the mail and fled prior to police arrival. The suspects were two male Hispanics with hooded sweatshirts driving a Honda Accord with tinted windows. The investigation is continuing.
Theft
July 12 at 10:46 p.m., officers responded to the report of a disturbing subject in the 500 Block of W. Duarte. The caller reported the subject was yelling into an apartment window and banging on the front door. The caller knew the suspect as a methamphetamine user with a violent temper that is known to carry guns. The caller described the type of vehicle the suspect drives. Officers located the vehicle in a parking lot north of the location with paper plates. However, the paper plates were covering stolen license plates. The suspect will be charged with the appropriate violations. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle belonged to the suspect.
Commercial Burglary
July 13 at 12:53 a.m., officers responded to a business in the 100 block of W. Duarte on the report of a burglary. Officers discovered the window on the north door of the business was smashed. The owner of the business was called and advised. The investigation is continuing.
Domestic Violence
July 13 at 12:55 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of W. Duarte regarding a family dispute. The male left the location prior to police arrival. The victim told officers she was arguing with her husband over how to discipline their children when the husband abruptly punched her in the mouth, splitting her lip. The victim told officers this was the first time the husband hit her. Charges will be sought with the District Attorney.

Grand Theft Auto
June 20 at 8:19 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of S. Myrtle regarding the report of a stolen vehicle. The victim stated his motorcycle was stolen from the apartment parking structure. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft Auto Recovery
June 20 at 4:58 p.m., a resident called police to report a vehicle had been abandoned along a red curb in the 1800 block of S. Mayflower for two days. Officers responded and the investigation revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Downey Police Department.
Theft From a Vehicle
June 21 at 9:22 a.m., the victim of a vehicle burglary called police to report a theft from his vehicle in the 100 block of N. Encinitas. The victim parked his vehicle and left his golf clubs inside. The vehicle was left unlocked. When he returned to his vehicle the next day, he found the back passenger door open and noticed his golf clubs were missing. The investigation is continuing.

June 21 at 9:50 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 100 block of N. Mountain. The victim left his vehicle unlocked and when he returned, he discovered his center console had been ransacked. The investigation is continuing.
Residential Burglary
June 21 at 12:18 p.m., a residential burglary was reported in the 1300 block of S. Mayflower. The caller reported he found his garage open and several items were missing. The investigation is continuing.
Medical Assistance
June 21 at 10:37 p.m., a motorist called to report a possible DUI driver on Scenic and
Canyon. The driver was driving wrong way in opposing lanes of traffic. An officer
responded and located the driver and vehicle. The driver was found to be diabetic and
in need of medical help. Paramedics responded and treated the driver.

Transportation of a Controlled Substance / False Information to a Peace Officer / Warrants – Suspect Arrested
June 13 at 12:00 p.m., and officer on patrol observed a suspicious vehicle in the 500 block of Fano. When the driver saw the officer, he sped off and attempted to evade the officer. The officer temporarily lost sight of the vehicle, but eventually located it in 1300 block of Linda in Arcadia, as residents flagged the officer down and reported that the vehicle had pulled into their driveway. The officer contacted the driver and after the investigation was complete, the driver was arrested for an out-of-state warrant, providing false information to a peace officer, and transporting a controlled substance, which was located inside his vehicle during a consent search.
Bicycle Theft
June 13 at 1:35 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the report of a stolen bicycle in the 200 block of W. Cherry. The victim reported his blue, Kent bicycle with gold rims was stolen out of his backyard sometime between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The investigation continuing.
Grand Theft Auto Recovery – Suspect Arrested
June 13 at 3:21 p.m., officers located a stolen vehicle in the 400 block of W. Foothill. The vehicle was parked in a business parking lot and was occupied by two suspects. The officers detained the suspects and the driver was arrested for grand theft auto.
Residential Burglary
June 13 at 8:56 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of Los Angeles on the report of a possible burglary in progress. A white Saturn or Nissan backed into the property and three male suspects with hoodies were seen loading items from the house into the vehicle. The property owner was not home and the suspects had fled the scene prior to police arrival. On arrival, police discovered a window was open, the screen had been cut and the backdoor was wide open. A search of the interior revealed the home had been burglarized. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft Auto – Suspect Arrested
June 13 at 11:57 p.m., officers located a stolen rental vehicle in the 100 block of E. Lime
Avenue in the parking lot north of the police station. An officer watched the vehicle from
a distance to see if anyone returned to it. A female suspect eventually returned and
entered the vehicle. She drove off and the officer stopped the vehicle in the 500 block of
S. Myrtle, where the suspect was taken into custody. The suspect said she did not
return the vehicle because she was currently homeless and was living out of it. She was
arrested and taken into custody for grand theft auto.
Residential Burglary
June 14 at 7:08 a.m., a residential burglary was reported in the 1800 block of S. Tenth
Avenue. The suspects entered the garage and then entered two vehicles inside. They
ransacked the vehicles and stole cash and a garage door opener. The investigation is
continuing.
Theft from a Vehicle
June 14 at 8:00 a.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 1600 block of Alamitas.
The victim parked his vehicle overnight. When he went out to his vehicle in the morning,
he found that it had been ransacked. An electronic tablet and a small amount of cash
was stolen. The investigation is continuing.

June 14 at 9:44 a.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 900 block of W. Duarte.
The victim reported that his vehicle had been broken into while it was parked. An iPad
and headphones that were left in the vehicle were stolen.The investigation is continuing.
Residential Burglary
June 14 at 2:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Grand Avenue in
response to an alarm activation. The resident had arrived home about the same time as
the officers were arriving on scene. The glass to the rear door had been shattered. The
house had been slightly ransacked. It was unknown if items were missing. The
investigation is continuing.
Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
June 14 at 5:18 p.m., loss prevention at a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington
called police regarding a theft that had just occurred. A male suspect was leaving the
store with a stereo and he had not paid for it. Officers arrived on scene and saw store
loss prevention personnel chasing the male suspect south on Mayflower. The officer
stopped and detained the suspect. After investigation, he was arrested and taken into
custody for the theft.
Identity Theft / Assault with a Deadly Weapon / Evading a Peace Officer –
Suspects Arrested
June 15 at 12:10 p.m., officers responded to the report of a forgery in progress at a
business in the 500 block of W. Huntington Drive. When officers arrived, they saw the
suspect vehicle backup and almost run over the loss prevention agent as he ordered
repeatedly for the vehicle to stop. The suspect then fled and was involved in a short
pursuit with a Monrovia motor officer. The female suspect was stopped and arrested for
assault with a deadly weapon and evading an officer. A second suspect involved had
fled the store on foot. He was located, detained and arrested for identity theft.
Assault – Suspect Arrested
June 15 at 8:35 p.m., a fight in progress was reported in the 800 block of W. Colorado.
It was reported that someone in the fight was possibly stabbed. The suspect was seen
fleeing the area on a bicycle. An officer arrived and detained the suspect. Further
investigation revealed there was no stabbing. The suspect and victim know each other
and the suspect had been texting sexual messages to the victim's girlfriend. The victim
confronted the suspect to talk to him and during the conversation, the suspect punched
the victim in the face and both started fighting. The suspect then pulled out a knife and
attempted to stab the victim several times, but was not successful and the victim ran
away. The suspect was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.
Vehicle Tampering – Suspect Arrested
June 15 at 10:51 p.m., police received a call reporting a disturbing subject in the 200
block of Railroad. The subject was banging on the side door of a semi-trailer truck.
When the officer arrived, the suspect fled on foot, but fell and cut the palm of his hand.
He was detained by the officer. Further investigation revealed a male and female were
sleeping in the truck. The female was in the front seat and the male was in the sleeper
section. The suspect approached the truck and began staring at the female subject. The
suspect then climbed onto the back of the truck and disconnected the airlines. The
suspect then started banging on the passenger door, telling the female to open the
door. She called the police. The suspect was arrested for vehicle tampering and
outstanding warrants for his arrest.
Murder Suspect Arrested
June 15 at 1:23 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 400 block of Hurstview when he
attempted to contact a male subject. As he approached, the subject abruptly took off
running and jumped a fence, heading south towards Euclid. The officer believed the
subject was a known, possibly armed, gang member wanted for a murder that occurred
in the City of Duarte. Officers quickly set up containment of the area. Temple Sheriff’s
Department sent two units and Irwindale Police Department sent three units. The
Foothill Air Support Team helicopter also responded to assist. The suspect was last
seen running through the rear yard of a residence in the 500 block of Euclid. Officers
searched the residence and found the murder suspect hiding in the backyard. The
suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
Injury Traffic Collision/Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
June 15 at 3:31 a.m., officers responded to Fifth and Chestnut regarding a rollover
traffic collision with a subject trapped inside. The driver tried to flee the scene and was
being restrained by witnesses. The suspect driver appeared to be under the influence of
drugs or alcohol. Fire personnel were able to free the female passenger. Both the
suspect driver and passenger were taken to a hospital for their injuries. The driver was
charged with felony driving under the influence.

Highlighted Activity for February 29 – March 2, 2016
February 29 at 9:27 p.m., an officer responded to a business in the 400 block of West Huntington. Staff at the business reported that a subject was possibly using drugs inside their restroom. Officers arrived and contacted the subject, who admitted he had drug needles in his possession. He was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Theft of Vehicle Parts
March 1 at 8:36 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a business in the 400 block of West Evergreen regarding a theft of vehicle parts. The suspect entered the work yard and used tools to remove a 52 inch LED light bar from the top of one of the trucks in the lot. The employees were working inside the building during the theft. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary
March 1 at 7:34 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported at a business parking lot in the 700 block of East Huntington. The victim arrived at the parking lot and went into the gym to work out. When she returned to her vehicle approximatley an hour later, she found that someone had punched the driver side door lock to open her truck. She discovered a pair of sunglasses were missing from her vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
Brandishing a Weapon
March 2 at 4:30 p.m., officers responded to a skate park in the 800 block of East Olive on the report of an altercation where a male adult brandished a pocket knife at a skateboarder. Officers arrived and determined the subject brandished the knife from a distance. The subject was interviewed and displayed behavior of mental illness. He was taken to a local facility and held for a 72-hour mental evaluation. The subject does not reside in Monrovia.
Grand Theft from Vehicle
March 2 at 6:17 p.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported at a hotel parking lot in the 900 block of South Fifth Avenue. The victim was checking into the hotel two days ago. While she was checking in with the office, someone took cash from her unlocked vehicle. She delayed reporting the theft because she thought she had just misplaced the money. The investigation is continuing.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
March 2 at 10:18 p.m., an intoxicated subject was reported at a business in the 300 block of West Huntington. He was following employees around in the parking lot. An officer arrived and arrested the male adult subject, who was determined to be too intoxicated to care for himself. He was held for a sobering period.
Possession of a Controlled Substance/Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
March 3 at 12:43 a.m., a citizen called police to report a male adult subject running in the street at Palm and Ivy, acting unusual. Officers arrived and saw the subject throw something onto the ground. The subject was detained. An officer located an object containing a white powder substance on the ground near the subject. A search of the subject revealed a baggie containing what the officer believed to be a controlled substance. The suspect was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and being under the influence of a controlled substance. The substance tested positive for cocaine.

Grand Theft
January 22 at 1:38 p.m., a grand theft was reported at a residence in the 200 block of Greystone. The residents, an elderly couple, noticed the door to their wall safe was open. They inventoried the contents and found several pieces of jewelry were missing. The couple does have two subjects they have hired to help around the property, but do not know who may have taken the jewelry. The investigation is continuing.
Battery/Vandalism
January 22 at 10:56 p.m., officers responded to a business in the 900 block of South Magnolia regarding a battery that had just occurred. The suspect took his vehicle to have an audio entertainment system installed, but there was a dispute over the billing. The suspect pushed and struck the installer and the owner of the business. The installer sustained a swollen hand defending himself from the suspect. The owner sustained a swollen eye, and the suspect was taken to a hospital for complaint of pain. The investigation is continuing and the report will be submitted to the District Attorney’s office for possible filing of charges.
Driving Under the Influence of Drugs/Traffic Collision – Suspect Arrested
January 23 at 9:15 a.m., a traffic collision was reported in the 400 block of West Maple Avenue. The caller was following a vehicle that struck two parked cars and hit the curb while driving west on Maple. The vehicle pulled into a business parking lot near Fifth and Huntington and stopped. Officers arrived and found the suspect behind the wheel of his vehicle. He seemed disoriented and unaware of his surroundings. The officers determined the subject was driving under the influence of a controlled substance. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Theft From a Vehicle
January 23 at 6:45 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a business parking lot in the 400 block of Huntington regarding a theft from a vehicle. The victim parked his vehicle in front of a business and went inside. He returned 30 minutes later and saw a male adult suspect going through his trunk. He yelled out and the suspect fled in a vehicle. The loss was a backpack containing miscellaneous items. The investigation is continuing.

January 23 at 8:19 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in 600 block of West Huntington. The victim parked his vehicle in a business parking lot and went into work. He returned later and discovered his vehicle had been ransacked. The victim's checkbook was taken from the center console and a backpack containing baseball equipment was taken from the trunk. The investigation is continuing.

January 23 at 9:37 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 100 block of Colorado. The victim parked his vehicle in the 100 block of Colorado and went into work. When he returned to his vehicle after work, he discovered his vehicle had been ransacked. The loss was a wallet from the driver's door pocket, which also contained his debit card. The victim reported that the debit card had already been used at a business. The investigation is continuing.

Residential Burglary
December 7 at 3:51 p.m., police responded to the report of a residential burglary in the 400 block of Highland. Suspects shattered a rear glass door of the home and entered the property. They removed a safe that was bolted down and took it out of the house. They attempted to open the safe in the driveway using various tools, but were unsuccessful. They fled the scene with jewelry taken from the residence. The investigation is continuing.
Attempt Vehicle Burglary
December 7 at 5:01 p.m., an attempt vehicle burglary was reported in the 300 block of South Heliotrope. An unknown suspect shattered the window on a 2006 Toyota Camry. Nothing was taken. The investigation is continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
December 7 at 6:53 p.m., officers were dispatched to a domestic violence incident in the 100 block of East Lemon Avenue. The investigation revealed no crime had occurred. The subjects involved had been in an ongoing verbal argument throughout the weekend. The female subject was found to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest. She was arrested and taken into custody for the warrant.
Grand Theft Auto
December 7 at 8:45 p.m., a stolen vehicle was located in the 2000 block of South Myrtle. The suspect vehicle turned into a residential driveway in the 200 block of Montana Avenue. The suspect exited the truck and fled on foot. Containment of the area was established and a search was conducted with the assistance of the Sierra Madre Police Department, The Foothill Air Support Team helicopter and an El Monte Police Department canine unit. The suspect was not located. The investigation is continuing.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
December 8 at 12:53 p.m., officers responded to a domestic violence incident in the 600 block of Parker. A husband and wife were involved in an argument. During the
argument, the wife attempted to walk away and the husband struck her in the neck with a closed fist. The husband was arrested for domestic violence.
Mail Theft
December 8 at 3:19 p.m., an incident of mail theft was reported in the 1200 block of South Mayflower. Several mailboxes were forced open and mail was taken from six of the mailboxes. The investigation is continuing.
Residential Burglary
December 8 at 7:20 p.m., an officer responded to the 400 block of Sunset regarding a residential burglary. The resident left the location at 6:00 p.m. and believes he secured all the doors and windows. As the homeowner was driving away, he noticed a 1990's, white, Toyota Sienna van driving slowly in the neighborhood. At the time he did not think anything of it. He returned home at 7:05 p.m. and found his home had been ransacked and a jar of coins and two old cell phones were taken. It appears the suspects gained entry through an unlocked rear sliding door. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary
December 9 at 12:32 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a vehicle burglary that occurred in the 600 block of West Huntington. Suspects smashed the window on a 1997 GMC Safari and took a stereo from the vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
Theft From a Vehicle
December 9 at 7:17 p.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 900 block of West Duarte Road. The victim parked her vehicle on the street and walked to the preschool to pick up her child, leaving her purse and cell phone in the vehicle. After picking up her child and driving away from the school, she noticed her purse and cell phone were missing. Although less than 30 minutes had passed, her credit cards had already been used at the mall in Arcadia. There was no sign of forced entry to the vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
Suspect in Grand Theft Auto Incident Arrested
December 9 at 9:35 p.m., a suspect involved in a grand theft auto incident that occurred on December 7, see incident above, was arrested and taken into custody. Through investigation and evidence recovered at the time of the incident, an identified suspect was linked to the crime. Officers responded to the last known address for the suspect and the occupants of the home consented to a search for the suspect. The suspect was located hiding in a locked bedroom closet and was taken into custody without incident. The suspect is being held pending his court appearance.

Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
On November 19 at 9:44 a.m., officers were dispatched to a park in the 300 block of South Myrtle regarding an intoxicated male lying on the grass. When officers arrived, they found several open and empty beer cans laying on the grass next to him. The officers determined the subject was intoxicated and could not care for himself. He was arrested for public intoxication and taken into custody.
Fight in Progress
On November 19 at 9:37 p.m. officers responded to the 700 block of East Huntington regarding a fight in progress. Upon contacting both subjects they were squared off ready to fight. Through investigation, officers determined one subject was the aggressor and was arrested for challenging to fight.
Residential Robbery
On November 20 at 2:06 a.m., a resident in the 800 block of Monterey reported a subject pushed his way into their home holding a knife and overpowering the older male adult victim. The victim's son saw the attacker on top of his father and tackled the suspect. A violent fight ensued. The father saw another suspect at his door so he shut it and locked him out. The son overpowered the suspect, taking his knife away, and holding him down until police arrived. The suspect was arrested for robbery and taken into custody. This investigation is continuing.
Domestic Battery – Suspect Arrested
On November 20 at 9:48 a.m. officers were dispatched to the corner of Lime and Mayflower regarding a male and female adult couple arguing. A resident in the area witnessed the male hit the female. When officers arrived, both subjects were detained and determined they were married. The female did not have visible injuries and did not complain of pain. After speaking with witnesses to the battery. The male subject was arrested for domestic battery and taken into custody.
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol – Suspect Arrested
On November 21 at 4:31 p.m. an officer was traveling east on Evergreen approaching Magnolia when he observed a motorist commit a traffic violation. The officer followed after the motorist and stopped the car at Mayflower and Duarte. The officer approached
the male driver, who appeared intoxicated. Field sobriety tests were conducted the driver was arrested for driving under the influence and held for sobering.
Attempt Residential Burglary
On November 21 at 10:42 p.m., an officer was responded to the 300 block of Fowler. A The resident left the location around 5:00 p.m. and returned at 10:30 p.m. to discover two window screens were partially removed to the rear of the residence. No loss was discovered.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
On November 21 at 12:42 p.m., officers responded to the 700 block of West Foothill regarding a male and female adult couple arguing. When officers arrived, they learned the male had struck the female in the face causing an injury. The male suspect was arrested and taken into custody for domestic violence. An emergency protective order was obtained and served on the suspect.
Theft from a Vehicle
On November 22 at 10:57 a.m., an officer responded to the 200 block of Madeline regarding a theft from a vehicle. Through investigation it was determined that unknown suspects were searching through unlocked vehicles and taking miscellaneous items of opportunity. At this time seven victims have come forward to report theft from their vehicle. The majority of thefts occurred on Madeline and Norumbega. The investigation is continuing.
