Highlighted Activity for May 1-3, 2017

Theft From a Vehicle
May 1 at 8:17 a.m., a resident in the 700 block of Mountain View called police to report that sometime during the night, someone entered their unlocked vehicle that was parked on the street and took a credit card. The investigation continuing.
Theft From a Vehicle
May 1 at 9:07 a.m., a resident in the 200 block of N. Shamrock Avenue called police to report that sometime during the night, someone entered both of her vehicles that were parked on the street and took miscellaneous items. The investigation is continuing.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
May 1 at 12:12 p.m., a subject came into the police department lobby regarding a possible mental health issue. The investigation revealed the subject was not in any mental health distress; however, he did have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The subject was arrested and is being held pending his court appearance.
Bear Incident
May 1 at 5:06 p.m., a resident in the 800 block of Norumbega called police to report a bear inside her home. The bear broke through a window to gain access. The Department of Fish and Wildlife was notified. They responded and relocated the bear.
Possession of a Controlled Substance / Warrants – Suspects Arrested
May 1 at 7:18 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 200 block of Norumbega for vehicle code violations. During the investigation, the driver was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and was arrested. The passenger was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

May 2 at 8:07 a.m., a resident in the 100 block of May Avenue called police to report that sometime during the night, someone entered his unlocked vehicle that was parked on the street and stole miscellaneous coins. The investigation is continuing.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
May 3 at 12:09 a.m., officers responded to the 700 block of Valley View regarding a male adult subject causing a disturbance. They arrived and found the subject was too intoxicated to care for himself and his own safety. He was arrested for being drunk in public and held for a sobering period.
Warrant / Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
May 3 at 1:07 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 600 block of W. Huntington when he conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a vehicle code violation. A computer check of the subject revealed a warrant. The subject was arrested for the warrant and was found to also be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
May 3 at 3:45 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of E. Olive regarding a male adult subject causing a disturbance. Officers arrived and detained the subject. A computer check revealed he had four warrants for his arrest. The subject was arrested and taken into custody.
Court Order Violation
May 3 at 1:54 p.m., a resident in the 900 block of S. Mayflower called police to report her son, whom she has a restraining order against, was at the location refusing to leave. Officers arrived and located the subject in the mother’s vehicle. He was arrested for violation of the restraining order. He was later released with a citation to appear in court on the charges.
Theft From a Vehicle
May 3 at 4:03 p.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 1000 block of E. Huntington Drive. The victim reported that while he was away, someone entered his unlocked vehicle that was parked on the street. The loss could not be determined. The investigation is continuing.
Injury Traffic Collision
May 3 at 7:17 p.m., an officer responded to a traffic collision at Mountain and Central. A vehicle traveling west on Central ran the red traffic signal at Mountain and collided into a vehicle traveling south on Mountain. One subject complained of pain and was taken to a nearby hospital.
Carrying an Air Gun within a City Park / Being in a Park After Hours – Suspect Arrested
May 4 at 12:03 a.m., officers were on patrol in the 300 block of S. Myrtle and saw a subject sitting near the entrance to the library after the park was closed. Due to it being after park hours, the officers contacted the subject. During a pat-down search, officers recovered a BB gun in the subject's pocket. The subject was arrested for the violations. The subject was later released with a citation to appear in court.
Vehicle Burglary
May 4 at 4:34 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 600 block of Vaquero Road. The victim’s vehicle was parked in the driveway. The victim looked outside from the
second story window and saw the suspect inside her vehicle. She yelled out the window and the suspect fled. The suspect entered the vehicle by prying the passenger side of the vehicle open. The loss is unknown at this time. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft
May 4 at 4:59 p.m., a grand theft was reported in the 600 block of S. Magnolia. The victim heard power tools outside of his residence and saw two subjects in hooded sweatshirts near his vehicle. One of the subjects yelled to the other and they fled in a silver Honda Element, heading north on Magnolia and out of sight. The victim checked his vehicle and discovered his catalytic converter was taken from his Honda Element. The investigation is continuing.

Highlighted Activity for March 9-12, 2017


Warrant – Suspect Arrested
March 9 at 8:22 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 100 block of W. Palm regarding several subjects blocking a driveway. One of the subjects had an outstanding warrant and was arrested.
Outside Assist / Commercial Burglary – Suspects Arrested
March 9 at 8:32 a.m., officers assisted Arcadia Police Department with an investigation of suspects involved in a pursuit. During the course of the investigation, receipts and possible stolen merchandise from a business in Monrovia were located inside the suspect vehicle. Monrovia officers went to the business in the 500 block of Duarte Road and discovered it had been burglarized during the night. The suspects were arrested and joint investigations are being conducted.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
March 9 at 10:49 p.m., an officer on patrol saw a vehicle fail to stop for the red light at California and Huntington. The officer stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, who displayed symptoms of being intoxicated. Through investigation, the driver was determined to be driving under the influence and was arrested. He was taken into custody, where he was held for a sobering period.
Criminal Threats – Suspect Arrested
March 10 at 12:41 a.m., a female resident in the 700 block of E. Greystone called police to report her husband pointed a shotgun at her. She said she was lying in bed asleep when she was awakened by her husband, who was holding a shotgun. He threatened her and opened the shotgun to show her it was loaded. The two shells fell out onto the bed. She grabbed the shells, pushed him, and ran to a neighbor’s house and called police.
She advised police that their two children were still in the house, ages 3 and 7. When Officers arrived, they positioned themselves around the residence. An officer called the house by phone and spoke to the suspect at length until eventually he was able to persuade the suspect to come out. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody without further incident. The children were unharmed and slept through the entire incident.
Threatening Social Media Post
March 10 at 5:08 p.m., police received notification of a threatening post on a social media site that displayed handguns with a caption reading, "I've had enough, getting ready for Monday MHS." Officers contacted the high school and officers interviewed the students that received the post. Some of the students replied to the post on the site, telling the individual that it was no joking matter and how serious the situation was due to the posting.
The student who posted the photo replied to everyone on the site that he was just kidding and only meant it as a joke. He said he didn't want to harm anyone and he was only joking. When the officers interviewed the student who posted the photo, he admitted to posting it, and said he was at a friend’s house when he got the idea on his own. The friend had BB guns and he took a photo of them. He then posted the photo with the comment on the social media site. He said he only wanted attention on the site and did not know it would go this far and involve the police. He was counseled and his parents were advised. Officers, through investigation, located the BB guns and confiscated them. The school will be handling the discipline of the student and the investigators will be contacting the District Attorney for the filing of potential criminal charges.
Stolen Vehicle
March 10 at 8:24 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 1300 block of S. Magnolia. The victim parked his vehicle on the street in the evening, locking the doors and making sure he rolled up the windows. When he came out the next morning at 7:30 a.m., the vehicle was gone. He did not give anyone permission to take the vehicle, a 2006 Acura. The investigation is continuing.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
March 10 at 11:18 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the 300 block of S. Myrtle when he saw a subject sleeping in the park covered up by a blanket. He made contact with the subject and saw an empty bottle of alcohol next to him. The subject was intoxicated and thought he was in Alhambra. He was arrested for being drunk in public and held for a sobering period.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
March 11 at 1:13 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of W. Colorado regarding a domestic dispute. A male and female subject who live at the location became involved in an argument that escalated and turned physical. The female had visible abrasions and scratches to her back, arm and leg. The male subject was arrested for domestic violence. The female signed a refusal to prosecute, but wanted and emergency protection order, which was granted.
Petty Theft – Suspect Arrested
March 11 at 7:59 a.m., the victim of petty theft reported her cell phone missing. She stated that she last had her cell phone at a gas station at Mountain and Huntington. Officers used the Find my iPhone app and located her phone at a park in the 600 block of S. Shamrock. The officers detained a homeless person in possession of the phone, who said he found the cell phone at the gas station. The victim said the cell phone was
in her pocket the whole time while she was at the station. The suspect was arrested for misappropriation of lost property.
Injury Traffic Collision
March 11 at 11:59 a.m., a traffic collision with injuries was reported at Palm and Mayflower. Two subjects were taken to the hospital for complaint of pain.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
March 11 at 9:16 p.m., an officers was dispatched to Magnolia and Colorado on the report of a subject sleeping on the ground. The subject was located and found to be intoxicated. He was arrested for being drunk in public.
Grand Theft Tools
March 12 at 1:38 p.m., a theft of tools was reported in the 100 block of Acacia. The victim parked his work truck with tool storage boxes on the street the day before and the tool boxes were locked. The next day he returned to the truck and discovered the storage boxes unlocked and his tools were missing. The suspects possibly picked the locks on the truck. The investigation is continuing.

Highlighted Activity for January 26-29, 2017


Injury Traffic Collision
January 26 at 4:39 p.m., a traffic collision involving injuries was reported at Duarte Road and Sixth Avenue. One of the drivers rear ended the other, causing serious injuries to both drivers. Both were taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
Elder Abuse Scam
January 26 at 7:15 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of S. Fifth Avenue to speak with an elderly female regarding a possible fiduciary crime. The subject said she was befriended by a man on Facebook and they used Facebook messenger to speak with each other. The male subject told her he was in the military and was stuck in Dubois due to an explosion. He told her the explosion destroyed his credentials and he couldn't leave the country. He said he needed money sent to a travel agent in Amarillo, Texas. The elderly female eventually sent $20,000 through a wire transfer. The investigation is continuing.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
January 26 at 9:20 p.m., dispatch received a call reporting a man yelling and causing a disturbance in the 100 block of E. Olive. When officers arrived, they saw a male subject in the street. They contacted him and determined he was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. The subject was arrested for being drunk in public and held for a sobering period.
Violation of Court Order
January 27 at 7:16 p.m., a female subject from a business in the 100 block of W. Lime contacted police to report a violation of a court order. The subject has a restraining order against an ex-employee of hers that restricts contact, including electronic communication. The subject received a message through Yelp from the restrained person. The restrained person claimed the communication was an accident and that she meant to send the message to herself. A verified complaint was sent to the District Attorney’s office for filing consideration.
Bicycle Theft
January 27 at 9:39 p.m., a theft of two bicycles was reported in the 100 block of W. Foothill. Two juveniles left their bicycles outside of a fast food restaurant without securing them and went inside to eat. When they finished and came outside, there was a large group of juveniles in front of the business and their bicycles were gone. No witnesses came forward. The investigation is continuing.
Shoplifting / Identity theft – Suspect Arrested
January 27 at 9:44 p.m., loss prevention at a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington called police to report a female suspect they detained for shoplifting. The subject had concealed jewelry and clothing merchandise on her person. She was arrested for shoplifting, and during an inventory search of her property, two driver's licenses and social security cards belonging to other people were found in her possession. The additional crime was added to her charges.
Public Intoxication / Resisting and Delaying a Peace Officer – Suspect Arrested
January 28 at 8:25 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 900 block of S. Fifth Avenue regarding a subject sleeping in a hallway. Officers arrived and contacted the subject, who was too intoxicated to care for his own safety. When officers attempted to arrest the subject for being drunk in public, the subject resisted and struggled with the officers. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Embezzled Vehicle / Bench Warrant – Suspect Arrested
January 28 at 1:25 p.m., officers located a vehicle at Myrtle and Chestnut that had been reported as an embezzled vehicle. The driver was detained for investigation. The victim was contacted and did not desire prosecution of the driver. The person who embezzled the car from the victim had sold it to the driver. The vehicle was recovered. During the investigation, it was discovered the driver had two outstanding bench warrants and a suspended driver's license. He was arrested and taken into custody for the warrants.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
January 28 at 8:37 p.m., a caller reported a possible drunk driver in the area of Myrtle and Duarte Road. Officers in the area conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle and a DUI investigation was conducted. The driver was determined to be intoxicated and was arrested.
Commercial Burglary – Suspects Arrested
January 30 at 1:08 a.m., an alarm activation was received at a business in the 600 block of W. Huntington. When the officer arrived, he saw the front doors had been pried open. The store video depicted three suspects forcing the front door open and they attempted to break into the store safe with a sledge hammer. The suspect vehicle was a dark Chevy Tahoe with paper plates. At 3:00 a.m., an officer on patrol saw the suspect vehicle enter a car wash parking lot in the 100 block of W. Duarte. Additional units responded to assist and the two suspects were arrested for burglary.

Highlights June 13-15 2016


Transportation of a Controlled Substance / False Information to a Peace Officer / Warrants – Suspect Arrested
June 13 at 12:00 p.m., and officer on patrol observed a suspicious vehicle in the 500 block of Fano. When the driver saw the officer, he sped off and attempted to evade the officer. The officer temporarily lost sight of the vehicle, but eventually located it in 1300 block of Linda in Arcadia, as residents flagged the officer down and reported that the vehicle had pulled into their driveway. The officer contacted the driver and after the investigation was complete, the driver was arrested for an out-of-state warrant, providing false information to a peace officer, and transporting a controlled substance, which was located inside his vehicle during a consent search.
Bicycle Theft
June 13 at 1:35 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the report of a stolen bicycle in the 200 block of W. Cherry. The victim reported his blue, Kent bicycle with gold rims was stolen out of his backyard sometime between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The investigation continuing.
Grand Theft Auto Recovery – Suspect Arrested
June 13 at 3:21 p.m., officers located a stolen vehicle in the 400 block of W. Foothill. The vehicle was parked in a business parking lot and was occupied by two suspects. The officers detained the suspects and the driver was arrested for grand theft auto.
Residential Burglary
June 13 at 8:56 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of Los Angeles on the report of a possible burglary in progress. A white Saturn or Nissan backed into the property and three male suspects with hoodies were seen loading items from the house into the vehicle. The property owner was not home and the suspects had fled the scene prior to police arrival. On arrival, police discovered a window was open, the screen had been cut and the backdoor was wide open. A search of the interior revealed the home had been burglarized. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft Auto – Suspect Arrested
June 13 at 11:57 p.m., officers located a stolen rental vehicle in the 100 block of E. Lime
Avenue in the parking lot north of the police station. An officer watched the vehicle from
a distance to see if anyone returned to it. A female suspect eventually returned and
entered the vehicle. She drove off and the officer stopped the vehicle in the 500 block of
S. Myrtle, where the suspect was taken into custody. The suspect said she did not
return the vehicle because she was currently homeless and was living out of it. She was
arrested and taken into custody for grand theft auto.
Residential Burglary
June 14 at 7:08 a.m., a residential burglary was reported in the 1800 block of S. Tenth
Avenue. The suspects entered the garage and then entered two vehicles inside. They
ransacked the vehicles and stole cash and a garage door opener. The investigation is
continuing.
Theft from a Vehicle
June 14 at 8:00 a.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 1600 block of Alamitas.
The victim parked his vehicle overnight. When he went out to his vehicle in the morning,
he found that it had been ransacked. An electronic tablet and a small amount of cash
was stolen. The investigation is continuing.
Theft from a Vehicle
June 14 at 9:44 a.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 900 block of W. Duarte.
The victim reported that his vehicle had been broken into while it was parked. An iPad
and headphones that were left in the vehicle were stolen.The investigation is continuing.
Residential Burglary
June 14 at 2:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Grand Avenue in
response to an alarm activation. The resident had arrived home about the same time as
the officers were arriving on scene. The glass to the rear door had been shattered. The
house had been slightly ransacked. It was unknown if items were missing. The
investigation is continuing.
Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
June 14 at 5:18 p.m., loss prevention at a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington
called police regarding a theft that had just occurred. A male suspect was leaving the
store with a stereo and he had not paid for it. Officers arrived on scene and saw store
loss prevention personnel chasing the male suspect south on Mayflower. The officer
stopped and detained the suspect. After investigation, he was arrested and taken into
custody for the theft.
Identity Theft / Assault with a Deadly Weapon / Evading a Peace Officer –
Suspects Arrested
June 15 at 12:10 p.m., officers responded to the report of a forgery in progress at a
business in the 500 block of W. Huntington Drive. When officers arrived, they saw the
suspect vehicle backup and almost run over the loss prevention agent as he ordered
repeatedly for the vehicle to stop. The suspect then fled and was involved in a short
pursuit with a Monrovia motor officer. The female suspect was stopped and arrested for
assault with a deadly weapon and evading an officer. A second suspect involved had
fled the store on foot. He was located, detained and arrested for identity theft.
Assault – Suspect Arrested
June 15 at 8:35 p.m., a fight in progress was reported in the 800 block of W. Colorado.
It was reported that someone in the fight was possibly stabbed. The suspect was seen
fleeing the area on a bicycle. An officer arrived and detained the suspect. Further
investigation revealed there was no stabbing. The suspect and victim know each other
and the suspect had been texting sexual messages to the victim's girlfriend. The victim
confronted the suspect to talk to him and during the conversation, the suspect punched
the victim in the face and both started fighting. The suspect then pulled out a knife and
attempted to stab the victim several times, but was not successful and the victim ran
away. The suspect was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.
Vehicle Tampering – Suspect Arrested
June 15 at 10:51 p.m., police received a call reporting a disturbing subject in the 200
block of Railroad. The subject was banging on the side door of a semi-trailer truck.
When the officer arrived, the suspect fled on foot, but fell and cut the palm of his hand.
He was detained by the officer. Further investigation revealed a male and female were
sleeping in the truck. The female was in the front seat and the male was in the sleeper
section. The suspect approached the truck and began staring at the female subject. The
suspect then climbed onto the back of the truck and disconnected the airlines. The
suspect then started banging on the passenger door, telling the female to open the
door. She called the police. The suspect was arrested for vehicle tampering and
outstanding warrants for his arrest.
Murder Suspect Arrested
June 15 at 1:23 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 400 block of Hurstview when he
attempted to contact a male subject. As he approached, the subject abruptly took off
running and jumped a fence, heading south towards Euclid. The officer believed the
subject was a known, possibly armed, gang member wanted for a murder that occurred
in the City of Duarte. Officers quickly set up containment of the area. Temple Sheriff’s
Department sent two units and Irwindale Police Department sent three units. The
Foothill Air Support Team helicopter also responded to assist. The suspect was last
seen running through the rear yard of a residence in the 500 block of Euclid. Officers
searched the residence and found the murder suspect hiding in the backyard. The
suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
Injury Traffic Collision/Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
June 15 at 3:31 a.m., officers responded to Fifth and Chestnut regarding a rollover
traffic collision with a subject trapped inside. The driver tried to flee the scene and was
being restrained by witnesses. The suspect driver appeared to be under the influence of
drugs or alcohol. Fire personnel were able to free the female passenger. Both the
suspect driver and passenger were taken to a hospital for their injuries. The driver was
charged with felony driving under the influence.

Highlighted Activity for May 30 – June 1, 2016


Identity Theft / Credit Card Fraud – Suspect Arrested
May 30 at 9:04 a.m., police received a call of a suspicious vehicle on Patrician Way. When officers arrived, they located a vehicle occupied by a male and female adult. During the investigation, the officers discovered the female driver was in possession of blank credit cards and personal information belonging to numerous subjects. The female suspect was arrested and taken into custody for identity theft and credit card fraud. The male subject was released.
Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
May 30 at 8:31 p.m., an officer on patrol stopped a bicyclist for vehicle code violations at Ivy and Maple. A consent search of the subject revealed a methamphetamine pipe in his possession. He was arrested and taken into custody. He was issued a citation to appear in court on the charges.
Commercial Burglary
May 31 at 8:03 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a business in the 900 block of W. Duarte Road on the report of a burglary. Employees arrived for work in the morning and discovered the business had been burglarized. The suspect entered the business by cutting a hole in the roof with an axe. Once inside, the suspect was able to disable the alarm and cut a hole in the side of a safe with a steel cutter. The suspect stole cash from the safe and fled the location back through the roof. The investigation is continuing.
Fraud / False Information to a Peace Officer – Suspect Arrested
May 31 at 6:29 p.m., a resident in the 300 block of California called police to report that an adult female had come by her house twice, stating she was there to pick up two envelopes that UPS and the Postal Service had delivered. The resident refused to give her the envelopes and called the police. An officer responded and detained the female suspect a block away from the residence. The female suspect gave officers a fraudulent driver's license with a false name on it. The suspect's identification showed the address where the envelopes were delivered. The two envelopes contained two credit cards with the suspect's alias on them. The suspect was arrested for several fraud charges and giving false information to a police officer.
Injury Traffic Collision
May 31 at 8:27 p.m., officers responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of Mountain and Valley View. A van hit a parked car. After evaluating the driver, it appeared he may have had a medical emergency that caused him to hit the parked vehicle. He was checked by Monrovia Fire Department paramedics and taken to the hospital.
Counterfeit US Currency
May 31 at 9:16 p.m., a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington called police to report a patron passing two counterfeit $50 dollar bills at the location. The officers arrived and detained the subject. The subject stated that he completed a gardening job in Garden Grove and the individual paid him with the three $50 dollar bills and the rest in $20 dollar bills. As the subject was unaware he possessed the counterfeit bills, the officers seized the three $50 dollar bills and released the subject. The case was referred to the Secret Service for investigation.
Vehicle Burglary
June 1 at 3:02 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 300 block of N. Primrose. The victim had been to a shooting range and left four pistols and a rifle in the trunk of his vehicle. On June 1 at around 3:00 a.m., two suspects were seen unlocking the vehicle with a key fob. The suspects entered the vehicle and removed the firearms by accessing the trunk through the rear seat. The suspects stole the firearms and walked away from the location. The suspects are believed to be a male and female, both suspects were wearing hoodies. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary
June 1 at 3:56 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 100 block of Poinsettia. The victim left his vehicle parked in front of his residence on the street overnight. When he returned to his vehicle in the morning, he noticed the contents of the glovebox had been removed. The suspects had also tried to remove the stereo. The investigation is continuing.
Shoplifting / Fraud – Three Suspects Arrested
June 1 at 6:58 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 500 block of W. Huntington regarding a shoplifting in progress. As the three suspects exited the store, they were detained. After investigation, one female adult was arrested for petty theft and a warrant, one male adult was arrested for petty theft, and the other male adult was arrested for receiving stolen property and unlawful use of anothers personal information.

Highlighted Activity for February 22-24, 2016


Commercial Burglary/Identity Theft – Suspects Arrested
February 22 at 11:44 a.m., a business in the 500 block of West Huntington called police to report a burglary. Two female subjects walked into a business in the city of Arcadia and tried to purchase merchandise using an altered store credit card. The purchase was rejected and the females left the store. Loss prevention notified the Monrovia store in case they tried again. The same subjects made a purchase at the Monrovia location and were seen leaving the store. Officers responded to the area and located the suspects still in the shopping center. The suspects were arrested and in their possession officers found various items of identity theft, which was added to their charges.
Robbery
February 22 at 12:02 p.m., two subjects were working at a residence when they noticed a gray Toyota Tundra with paper plates pull up to their vehicle, which was loaded with equipment. The suspect removed a blower and trimmer from the back of the victim's vehicle. When the victims approached the suspect, he brandished a firearm and fled the scene. The victims went to the police station to report the incident. The suspect was described as an adult, male Hispanic, 20-30 years old, with short hair and wearing a gray long-sleeve shirt and blue jeans. An area search was conducted, but the suspect vehicle was not located. The investigation is continuing.
Driving Under the Influence/Non-Injury Traffic Collision – Suspect Arrested
February 22 at 6:54 p.m., a traffic collision was reported in the area of Myrtle and Olive. Two vehicles were heading southbound Myrtle and one vehicle rear-ended the other. After an investigation, one male adult driver was arrested for driving under the influence.
Non-Injury Traffic Collision
February 22 at 7:35 p.m., police responded to a non-injury traffic collision at Fifth and Huntington. A truck driver from out of state was driving his big rig west on Huntington
and attempted to make a right turn onto Fifth Avenue. The truck trailer sideswiped the signal light and caused minor damage to the signal.
Vandalism
February 22 at 10:11 p.m., a vandalism incident was reported at a school in the 100 block of South Canyon. Unknown suspects spray painted on the wall of the school. The investigation is continuing.

February 23 at 12:44 a.m., officers were dispatched to a vandalism incident at an apartment complex in the 300 block of South Canyon. The victim stated her front window had been broken. The investigation is continuing.
Injury Traffic Collision
February 23 at 7:34 a.m., police responded to an injury traffic collision at Monterey and Colorado. A driver was traveling east on Colorado and failed to stop for the stop sign. The driver collided into a vehicle that was turning west onto Colorado from Monterey. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle received minor injuries. The driver who failed to stop was cited for the violation and the other parties were taken to a hospital and later released.

February 23 at 8:17 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 800 block of West Olive. The victim parked her vehicle in front of her residence the night before. In the morning she found her vehicle, a green, 1990 Honda Accord, was gone. The investigation is continuing.

February 23 at 4:15 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 300 block of West Huntington. The victim was inside a grocery store and when she returned to her vehicle an hour later, her white, 1986 Mazda pickup, was gone. The investigation is continuing.
Prescription Fraud
February 24 at 8:52 a.m., an incident of prescription fraud was reported at a business in the 300 block of West Huntington. A subject entered the location and presented a suspicious prescription to the attendant. A phone call to the listed doctor confirmed the prescription was, in fact, fraudulent. The suspect had already left the location before the fraud was determined. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft Auto
February 24 at 9:48 a.m., police responded to the 400 block of West Colorado on the report of a stolen vehicle. The victim parked and locked her vehicle in the alley behind her home. She went inside and did not hear anything suspicious during the night. When she returned to her vehicle in the morning, she found it had been stolen. The investigation is continuing.
Injury Traffic Collision
February 24 at 7:26 p.m., officers were dispatched to a traffic collision in the 200 block of South Madison. A driver made an unsafe turn and struck a parked vehicle. The driver had a small contusion on his face from the accident. After the conclusion of the investigation, the officer asked the driver to sign the citation for an unsafe turn and having a suspended driver's license. The driver refused to sign the citation. He was arrested and later released with a citation to appear in court.

Highlighted Activity for October 29 – November 1, 2015

Stolen Vehicle
October 29 at 12:55 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from a dealership located in the 1300 block of South Mountain. The vehicle was discovered missing during an inventory at the dealership. Both the vehicle and keys were missing. When the vehicle identification number was entered into the law enforcement stolen vehicle database, it showed the license plates from the vehicle were recovered on July 9, 2015, in Baldwin Park. The vehicle was entered into the stolen vehicle system and the investigation is continuing.
Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
October 29 at 7:01 p.m., officers responded to a business in the 800 block of East Huntington regarding a theft that had just occurred. The suspect entered the business, selected several bottles of expensive men's cologne and fled without paying for the merchandise. The suspect was confronted outside the store by the loss prevention agent, and he dropped the cologne and fled on foot, followed by the loss prevention agent. Containment of the area was established, and the suspect was located hiding in a backyard in the 500 block of Maple Avenue. He was arrested and taken into custody. The suspect claimed to be having chest pains and was taken to a hospital for treatment. He was later issued a citation to appear in court on the shoplifting charges.
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol – Suspect Arrested
October 29 at 10:03 p.m., officers responded to the 800 block of East Foothill on the report of a suspicious vehicle in the area. A witness reported that the driver of the vehicle was driving very slowly and when she stopped the vehicle and exited the car, she had no clothing on from the waist down. She entered the vehicle again and drove off south on Mountain. Officers located the vehicle in the 800 block of East Huntington and the investigation revealed the driver was intoxicated. The suspect was arrested and held for a sobering period. She was later released with a citation to appear in court on the DUI charges.
Mountain Lion Sighting
October 29 at 11:36 p.m., officers responded to the area of Myrtle and Scenic on the report of a mountain lion sighted. The officers located the animal in the front yard of a residence in the 100 block of East Scenic, lying in the grass. The Department of Fish
and Game was contacted, but had no one available to respond. They recommended the officers use a beanbag round to encourage the mountain lion back into the hills. One beanbag round was deployed and the animal fled into the hills.
Transporting Marijuana/Unlicensed Driver – Suspect Arrested
October 30 at 7:44 p.m., an officer stopped a motorist he knew was unlicensed from prior contacts. The investigation revealed the motorist was also transporting marijuana. The motorist was arrested for the above violations and taken into custody.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
October 30 at 8:08 p.m., officers responded to the area of Huntington and Myrtle regarding a bus driver being assaulted by a passenger. Upon arrival, there was no evidence found of a crime; however, one of the involved parties had an outstanding warrant issued for his arrest by the Glendale Police Department. The suspect was arrested per the authority of the warrant and taken into custody. Glendale Police Department was notified and officers responded to take custody of suspect.
Residential Burglary
October 30 at 8:40 p.m., a residential burglary was reported in the 500 block of Alta Vista. Unknown suspects entered the victim's detached garage and stole music equipment. The victim believes he left the pedestrian door on the side of his garage open when the burglary occurred. The investigation is continuing.
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol – Suspect Arrested
October 31 at 3:16 a.m., a motorist was stopped in the 200 block of West Huntington for unsafe speed. The investigation revealed the motorist was driving under the influence of alcohol. The motorist admitted to drinking beer at a park prior to being stopped by the police. He was arrested, taken into custody and held for sobering. He was later released on a citation to appear in court.

October 31 at 3:25 a.m., dispatch received a call reporting an injury traffic collision in the area of California and Evergreen. A vehicle made a left turn into the path of another vehicle. One of the drivers complained of wrist pain.
Grand Theft Auto
November 1 at 8:41 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the street in the area of Monterey and Olive. The vehicle stolen was a white, 1997 Honda Accord. The investigation is continuing.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered
November 1 at 10:50 a.m., an officer in the area of Violet and Lime located a stolen vehicle left abandoned on the street. The vehicle recovered was a Maroon, 1995 Acura. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft Auto
November 1 at 12:55 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the street in the 400 block of West Lime. The vehicle stolen was a black, 1997 Honda. The investigation is continuing.
Vandalism
November 1 at 3:30 p.m., a resident called to report a vandalism in the 1200 block of Mayflower. Mailboxes were vandalized between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The investigation is continuing.
Hit and Run Traffic Collision
November 1 at 7:03 p.m., a driver was heading west on Huntington when a vehicle turned in front of her, striking her vehicle. She was able to obtain a plate number, which returned to a Monrovia resident. Officers went to the residence and determined an elderly male was driving the other vehicle involved, but he did not realize that he had struck the other vehicle. No criminal charges will be filed.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
November 1 at 10:57 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of North Alta Vista regarding a domestic violence incident. A male adult called to report his wife had struck him in the face during an argument. The wife was arrested and taken into custody.

Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
October 22 at 3:20 p.m., an officer responded to a business in the 500 block of West Huntington regarding a shoplifter in custody. The suspect was seen removing price tags and placing lower-cost price tags on the items. He then attempted to purchase the items at the lower cost. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody. He was later released on a citation to appear in court on the charges.
Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
October 23 at 7:20 p.m., Special Enforcement Team officers were patrolling in the 200 block of East Duarte and contacted a subject. The subject was found to be in possession of a methamphetamine pipe. They arrested the suspect for the violation.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
October 23 at 9:19 p.m., Special Enforcement Team officers were on patrol in the 700 block of East Olive when they contacted a subject who had two warrants out for his arrest. The suspect was arrested per the authority of the warrants and taken into custody.
Stolen Motorcycle
October 24 at 7:51 a.m., a resident called to report his motorcycle had been stolen from the 700 block of South Myrtle. The motorcycle is a 2016, red, Ducati. The theft occurred sometime between October 23 at 8:40 p.m. and October 24 at 7:30 a.m. The investigation is continuing.
Drunk in Public – Suspect Arrested
October 24 at 6:49 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of West Palm on the report of a fight in progress. Upon police arrival, the fight had stopped and some of the involved subjects were gone. One of the subjects remaining at the location was contacted and determined to be intoxicated to the point of not being able to care for his own safety. The subject was arrested and taken into custody for being drunk in public. He was held for sobering.

October 24 at 10:01 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 200 block of West Foothill regarding a subject causing a disturbance. The subject was determined to be intoxicated to the point of not being able to care for his own safety. He was arrested and held for sobering.
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol – Suspect Arrested
October 25 at 2:15 a.m., a driver was stopped heading south on Myrtle for traveling at a high rate of speed. The driver was determined to be intoxicated. The driver indicated he was drinking at a relative’s house prior to being stopped. He was arrested and taken into custody. He was held for sobering and later released on a citation to appear in court.
Felony Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol – Suspect Arrested
October 25 at 3:09 a.m., officers were dispatched to an injury traffic collision in the 100 block of East Evergreen. The investigation revealed one of the drivers was intoxicated and rear-ended the other vehicle, which was legally stopped and waiting for the signal light to turn green. The victim complained of pain to her neck. The victim was treated at the scene by Monrovia Fire Department paramedics and taken to a local hospital by ambulance. The intoxicated driver was arrested. He was held pending the court appearance date.
Residential Burglary
October 25 at 6:15 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of East Cherry regarding a residential burglary. The suspects entered the home by breaking a window. The loss appears to be money and jewelry. The investigation is continuing.
