Highlighted Activity for October 26-28, 2015


Stolen Motorcycle
October 26 at 7:02 a.m., a motorcycle was reported stolen from the 500 block of East Almond Avenue. The victim parked his motorcycle at the end of his driveway, near his home. When he returned to it in the morning, it was gone. He did not hear anything unusual and had no idea who would have taken it. The motorcycle information was entered into the law enforcement stolen vehicle database. The investigation is continuing.
Residential Burglary
October 26 at 10:45 a.m., an officer responded to the report of a burglary in the 200 block of North Encinitas. The suspect made entry into the residence through an open window and stole a 16-week-old, Pitbull/Bullmastiff puppy. Several hours later, the victim received a call from the Pasadena Humane Society informing him that his dog had been located. The house had signs of a break-in. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft Auto
October 26 at 2:22 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 800 block of West Walnut Avenue. The victim listed the vehicle for sale on Craigslist. On October 24, a male suspect met with her to test drive the vehicle. The victim allowed the suspect to drive the vehicle and he has not returned. The vehicle information was entered into the law enforcement stolen vehicle database. The investigation is continuing.
Petty Theft
October 27 at 1:33 p.m., a resident in the 300 block of East Greystone Avenue called police to report she had a package stolen from her front porch. Two female Hispanic subjects were seen exiting a silver Honda Civic and removing a package from the porch. The investigation is continuing.
Stolen Vehicle
October 28 at 3:59 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 300 block of South Fifth Avenue. The resident parked and locked his car on the street in front of his house in the evening and went inside his home. He returned to his vehicle in the morning and
immediately saw it was missing. He did not give anyone permission to take his car, a 2003, 2-door, silver, Honda Accord.
Grand Theft
October 28 at 10:50 a.m., a grand theft was reported at a business in the 700 block of East Huntington Drive. An employee of the business reportedly sold expensive products from the business to a customer off of the books. The suspect then paid two other employees to keep quiet about the transaction they had witnessed. The suspect employee was fired and the police were called. Some of the product was returned. The investigation is continuing.
Injury Traffic Collision/Vehicle vs. Bicyclist
October 28 at 11:51 a.m., a female on a bicycle was struck by a vehicle in the area of Shamrock and Colorado. The bicyclist was traveling the same direction as the vehicle, veered into the lane of traffic and was struck. The impact was at a slow speed, as both parties were approaching a stop sign. The bicyclist fell to the ground and sustained lacerations and complained of pain to her neck. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
October 28 at 2:59 p.m., officers responded to the report of an erratic driver in the 600 block of West Huntington. They located the vehicle and the female driver parked in a business parking lot, taking up several spaces. After speaking with the subject, the officers determined she had been drinking. The driver complained of chest pains and was taken to a hospital, where she was cleared for booking. She was taken back to the Monrovia Police Department, where she was booked and held for sobering.
Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
October 29 at 3:36 a.m., a male adult walked into the Monrovia Police Department lobby and told the dispatcher he was turning himself in because he was under the influence of methamphetamine. An officer contacted the subject and after investigation, determined the subject was under the influence of a controlled substance. The officer arrested the subject and he was held for sobering.
Vehicle Burglary
October 29 at 4:35 a.m., a resident parked his car on the street in the 800 block of West Chestnut, locked the doors, and went into his apartment on Walnut. At 4:35 a.m., he went out to his car and discovered the driver-side window was shattered. His two jackets and iPad were taken from the front passenger seat. The investigation is continuing.

Highlighted Activity for October 22-25, 2015


Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
October 22 at 3:20 p.m., an officer responded to a business in the 500 block of West Huntington regarding a shoplifter in custody. The suspect was seen removing price tags and placing lower-cost price tags on the items. He then attempted to purchase the items at the lower cost. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody. He was later released on a citation to appear in court on the charges.
Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
October 23 at 7:20 p.m., Special Enforcement Team officers were patrolling in the 200 block of East Duarte and contacted a subject. The subject was found to be in possession of a methamphetamine pipe. They arrested the suspect for the violation.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
October 23 at 9:19 p.m., Special Enforcement Team officers were on patrol in the 700 block of East Olive when they contacted a subject who had two warrants out for his arrest. The suspect was arrested per the authority of the warrants and taken into custody.
Stolen Motorcycle
October 24 at 7:51 a.m., a resident called to report his motorcycle had been stolen from the 700 block of South Myrtle. The motorcycle is a 2016, red, Ducati. The theft occurred sometime between October 23 at 8:40 p.m. and October 24 at 7:30 a.m. The investigation is continuing.
Drunk in Public – Suspect Arrested
October 24 at 6:49 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of West Palm on the report of a fight in progress. Upon police arrival, the fight had stopped and some of the involved subjects were gone. One of the subjects remaining at the location was contacted and determined to be intoxicated to the point of not being able to care for his own safety. The subject was arrested and taken into custody for being drunk in public. He was held for sobering.
Drunk in Public – Suspect Arrested
October 24 at 10:01 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 200 block of West Foothill regarding a subject causing a disturbance. The subject was determined to be intoxicated to the point of not being able to care for his own safety. He was arrested and held for sobering.
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol – Suspect Arrested
October 25 at 2:15 a.m., a driver was stopped heading south on Myrtle for traveling at a high rate of speed. The driver was determined to be intoxicated. The driver indicated he was drinking at a relative’s house prior to being stopped. He was arrested and taken into custody. He was held for sobering and later released on a citation to appear in court.
Felony Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol – Suspect Arrested
October 25 at 3:09 a.m., officers were dispatched to an injury traffic collision in the 100 block of East Evergreen. The investigation revealed one of the drivers was intoxicated and rear-ended the other vehicle, which was legally stopped and waiting for the signal light to turn green. The victim complained of pain to her neck. The victim was treated at the scene by Monrovia Fire Department paramedics and taken to a local hospital by ambulance. The intoxicated driver was arrested. He was held pending the court appearance date.
Residential Burglary
October 25 at 6:15 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of East Cherry regarding a residential burglary. The suspects entered the home by breaking a window. The loss appears to be money and jewelry. The investigation is continuing.

Highlighted Activity for October 19-21, 2015


Warrant – Suspect Arrested
October 19 at 9:24 a.m., an officer on patrol contacted a suspicious subject in the 200 block of West Lemon Avenue. During the contact and identification of the subject, it was discovered that the subject had a warrant out for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody for the warrant.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
October 19 at 10:26 a.m., an officer on patrol contacted subjects at a park in the 300 block of South Myrtle Avenue and recognized several from prior contacts. A computer check of the subjects revealed one of them had a sizeable warrant for his arrest. The subject was arrested and taken into custody.
Residential Burglary
October 19 at 12:43 p.m., officers responded to a burglary alarm activation in the 800 block of Crescent Drive. Officers arrived and established containment of the area. A male subject was seen in the area just prior to the call. Officers approached the location and saw a rear door had been pried open and there were fresh footprints leading up to the entry point. The home was cleared and no one was found inside. An extensive area search was conducted, but the suspect was not located. The owner responded and did not find anything missing. The investigation is continuing.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
October 21 at 12:19 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the area of Huntington and California when he saw a speeding vehicle traveling east on Huntington pass his vehicle, almost colliding into it. The officer stopped the vehicle for the speeding violation at Huntington and Mountain. While speaking with the 21-year-old male driver, the officer determined he had been drinking. Field sobriety tests were conducted, and the driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody and held for sobering.
Suspended Driver’s License/Warrants – Suspect Arrested
October 21 at 12:29 a.m., an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 3100 block of South Peck Road. A computer check revealed the driver had a suspended
driver’s license and two warrants for his arrest. The driver was cited for his traffic violations and arrested for the warrants. The driver was taken into custody and later released to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Temple Station on the warrants.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered
October 21 at 7:00 a.m., an unoccupied stolen vehicle was located by an officer on patrol in the 600 block of West Palm Avenue. The vehicle had been stolen out of Rancho Cucamonga and abandoned at the location.
Drunk in Public – Suspect Arrested
October 22 at 3:16 a.m., officers responded to the report of a male and female arguing in front of an apartment complex in the 800 block of West Duarte Road. When they arrived, they located the subjects on the sidewalk. The male subject was intoxicated and determined to be too drunk to care for his own safety. He was arrested and held for sobering.

Highlighted Activity for October 15-18, 2015

Stolen Vehicle Recovered
October 15 at 9:30 a.m., police were notified of a suspicious vehicle that had been parked in the 1000 block of South Canyon for several days. An officer responded and ran a computer check of the vehicle identification number. The vehicle was found to be reported stolen and was recovered. Grand Theft Auto October 15 at 11:30 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 700 block of Foothill. The victim's vehicle was taken from their assigned parking stall.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested 
October 16 at 11:30 p.m., an officer on patrol stopped a motorist in the 300 block of Duarte Road for failing to stop at a railroad crossing, against the red flashing lights. The subject was determined to be intoxicated. He was arrested and taken into custody. He was released on a citation after sobering. Warrants – Suspects Arrested
October 16 at 11:44 p.m., officers were sent to investigate two suspicious subjects loitering in a parking lot in the 200 block of East Foothill. Upon contacting and identifying the subjects, both of them were found to have outstanding warrants for their arrest. The subjects were arrested per the authority of the warrants and taken into custody.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
October 17 at 10:56 p.m., officers were dispatched to the report of an assault in progress at a park located in the 900 block of California. The victim said his girlfriend punched him in the face. The victim was found to have a half-inch laceration to his face. The suspect was arrested for domestic violence and taken into custody.
Grand Theft of Bicycle
October 18 at 1:47 a.m., officers were advised of the theft of a bicycle from a fast food restaurant in the 700 block of East Huntington. They were able to locate and recover the stolen bicycle in the 200 block of East Maple; however, the suspect had fled and was not identified. The investigation is continuing.
Petty Theft/No-bail Warrant – Suspect Arrested 
October 18 at 6:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 100 block of West Foothill regarding a shoplifter in custody. Upon further investigation, the suspect was found to have a no-bail warrant for his arrest. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested 
October 18 at 9:02 p.m., an officer stopped a subject on a bicycle in the 300 block of West Huntington Drive for a vehicle code violation. The suspect was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance. He was arrested and taken into custody.

October 19 at 12:40 a.m., an officer on patrol located a female subject in the 900 block of South Mountain. The female was wearing pants and a bra only. She was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance. She was arrested and held for sobering.

Highlighted Activity for October 12-14, 2015


Warrant Arrest
October 13 at 12:35 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 500 block of West Huntington when he saw a male adult subject to the rear of a closed business digging in the trash. He stopped and contacted the subject. A computer check revealed three warrants for the subject’s arrest, with the highest bail set at $40,000 for a drug charge. The warrants were confirmed and the subject was arrested and taken into custody.
Possession of a Controlled Substance/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspects Arrested
October 13 at 7:53 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Santa Anita Wash at the railroad tracks on the report of two suspicious males loitering in the area. When officers arrived, they contacted two homeless adult male subjects. During a pat-down search for the officer's safety, a syringe and methamphetamine was found on one of the subjects and a pipe for smoking methamphetamine was found on the other. Both subjects were arrested and taken into custody.
Warrant/Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
October 15 at 2:17 a.m., an officer responded to a business parking lot in the 1600 block of Mountain on the report of a suspicious male subject walking through the parking lot, picking up discarded receipts, as well as digging them out of the trash. Officers arrived and located the subject, who was in possession of several receipts printed from the business that day, possibly to fraudulently claim he was returning an item with a receipt. A computer check revealed a warrant for the subject’s arrest; he was arrested and taken into custody. The suspect attempted to hide methamphetamine in the backseat of the police car. The suspect was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Driving Under the Influence/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspects Arrested
October 15 at 2:46 a.m., an occupied suspicious vehicle was reported in the 600 block of North Canyon with its engine running. Officers arrived and found a male and female sitting in the car. The female appeared to be trying to hide something under her seat when the officers approached the vehicle. The driver had a pipe for smoking methamphetamine sitting next to him and was showing signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Both occupants were removed from the vehicle and field sobriety tests were conducted on the driver. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. A search of the vehicle revealed a syringe that the female was attempting to hide, as well as burglary tools. The female subject was also arrested and both were taken into custody.

Highlighted Activity for October 8-11, 2015


Traffic Stop/Resisting and Delaying a Peace Officer – Suspect Arrested
October 9 at 8:34 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the area of California and Cypress when he observed a bicyclist riding at night without a light. When the officer attempted to detain the subject, he fled into the backyard of a nearby residence. Officers quickly set up containment of the area, and the Foothill Air Support Team helicopter responded to assist. The suspect was found hiding inside of a trashcan in the yard. The suspect was arrested and taken to a hospital for medical clearance for a puncture wound he received jumping over a fence. The suspect was determined to be a juvenile. He was medically cleared, booked for the charges, and then released on a citation to appear in court. The juvenile was released to the custody of his mother.
Welfare Check/Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
October 9 at 10:17 p.m., officers were dispatched to Palm and Ivy regarding the welfare check of a subject lying on the ground. An intoxicated male was found lying flat on his back. Monrovia Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene to medically evaluate the subject. The subject was determined to be intoxicated. He was arrested for public intoxication and taken into custody. He was held for sobering.
Domestic Violence/Kidnapping – Suspect Arrested
October 10 at 4:01 a.m., officers responded to the report of a domestic violence incident in progress in the 200 block of East Los Angeles. The reporting party said the suspect and victim were leaving the area in a vehicle. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle as it was leaving the location. The male suspect and female victim are boyfriend and girlfriend. The victim told officers that her boyfriend grabbed her and put his hand over her mouth, causing a visible scratch to her face. When the victim tried to break free, he threw her down onto the grass. The suspect then picked up the victim and forced her into the vehicle against her will, causing her to hit her head. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody. He was held pending his court appearance
Battery with Great Bodily Injury – Suspect Arrested
October 11 at 7:38 a.m., an officer responded to a hospital regarding a victim that had been battered during the night at Shamrock and Olive. The victim was involved in an
altercation and was extremely intoxicated at the time of the incident. In the morning, he went to the hospital because of eye swelling and head pain. His recollections were vague, but he was diagnosed with a fractured eye socket and a minor bleed in his brain by the medical staff. A detailed investigation identified the suspect, who was located and admitted to striking the victim. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Domestic Violence – Suspect Arrested
October 11 at 5:32 p.m., a domestic violence incident was reported in the 200 block of North Shamrock. During an argument, the suspect placed his hand on the victim's neck causing a minor injury. The suspect left the residence before police arrived, but he was located at a park in the 700 block of East Lemon. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
October 12 at 1:36 a.m., police received a call reporting a vehicle that was driving erratically in the area of Mountain and the 210 Freeway. Officers arrived and found the vehicle parked in a business parking lot in the 1600 block of South Mountain. The occupant in the vehicle was obviously intoxicated and admitted to driving while drunk. The driver was arrested, taken into custody, and held for a sobering period.

Always...Patsy Cline extended to 10/30 at Sierra Madre Playhouse

Always...Patsy Cline, has become a run away success at the Sierra Madre Playhouse.  Best play in terms of attendance, reviews and nominations in the Playhouse's nearly 100 year history. The musical is a story of Patsy's life played out through the memories of her #1 fan, Louise Seger.

As you might know Paul VanDorpe here on the street is President of the Board of Directors for the Playhouse and I too serve on the Board.  We are so very pleased to announce the extension of the the play's closing yet again.  The hard close we can't go any longer is October 30.  Buy your tickets early as the performances tend to sell out early.  Buy Tickets Here.

Highlighted Activity for October 5-7, 2015


Residential Burglary
October 5 at 9:36 p.m., a burglary alarm was activated at a house in the 200 block of Bradoaks. Officers arrived and discovered a backdoor open with the window in it shattered. They surrounded the house, then made entry; however, no suspects were located inside or in the surrounding area. The home had been ransacked and evidence was collected, but the loss is unknown until the owner can inventory the property.
Shoplifting – Suspect Arrested
October 6 at 7:36 p.m., officers were dispatched to a grocery store in the 100 block of west Foothill, where a 25-year-old male suspect was being detained by store security for shoplifting. The suspect had entered the store and placed merchandise in his pockets. He went to a register and paid for a box of tea, but not for what he had hidden in his pockets. As he left the store, he was stopped by store security. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Camping in a Park after Closing – Suspects Arrested
October 6 at 11:41 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the 900 block of South California when he observed a male and female subject camping in the park after the park was closed. The male and female had both been issued citations in the past for the same violation; however, they continued to refuse to leave the park. They were both issued citations to appear in court on the violation and escorted out of the park.
Traffic Collision
October 7 at 10:00 a.m., a semi-truck with a trailer was making a turning movement in the 300 block of West Maple. The driver cut the corner short and struck a fire hydrant, causing the water pipe to burst. The Fire Department and City Public Works crews were able to stop the flow of water, but significant damage was caused to the sidewalk near the hydrant.
Vandalism
October 7 at 3:25 p.m., officers were called to a residence in the 100 block of Norumbega for a vandalism incident that had just occurred. An intoxicated female who had been living at the residence for two weeks was involved in a verbal argument with the owner of the home. The female became angry and kicked a stereo speaker, causing damage. The owner of the property completed a Private Person's Arrest for the female and she was arrested and taken into custody. After sobering, she was released on citation to appear in court on the charge.
Warrant – Suspect Arrested
October 7 at 3:56 p.m., an officer stopped a vehicle for a vehicle code violation. A computer check revealed the driver had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. She was arrested and taken into custody for the warrant.
Fight in Progress
October 7 at 4:06 p.m., officers were dispatched to a reported fight in progress in the area of Mayflower and Olive. Upon arrival, one female juvenile was being taken to the hospital for minor injuries and a second female juvenile was no longer in the area. The investigation revealed the two subjects had texted each other and agreed to meet at the park to fight. The subject at the scene was uncooperative and refused to provide an account of what occurred. The parents of the minor signed a refusal to prosecute form. The investigation continues to identify the second suspect in this case.
Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
October 8 at 12:37 a.m., police were notified by a citizen of a possible drunk driver in a Mitsubishi at Myrtle and Lemon. The vehicle was located by an officer at Lemon and Ivy. The driver failed to stop for the stop sign at Lemon and Ivy and was stopped by the officer. The officer contacted the driver and determined he was intoxicated. Field sobriety tests were conducted, and the driver was arrested for driving under the influence. He was held for a sobering.
Grand Theft Auto
October 8 at 2:08 a.m., officers responded to the 100 block of West Walnut, as a resident reported her ex-boyfriend had just stolen her vehicle. He had stolen her car keys a week prior after an argument. She reported the theft to the police, but the suspect had fled the scene and was not apprehended. The victim was inside her home at 2:08 a.m. and heard the engine to her vehicle start. She ran outside and saw her ex-boyfriend driving away with her car without her permission. She called police.
Officers arrived and searched the area for the suspect, but he had fled the area in the vehicle and was not located. The vehicle is a 2010, four-door, black Ford Flex. The vehicle was entered into the stolen vehicle system, and the suspect was entered into the wanted persons system.
Detective Bureau Case Update
Possession of a Controlled Substance/Receiving Stolen Property/Ex-Felon with Ammunition/Ex-Felon with a Firearm
On October 2, 2015, a suspicious subject was seen in the 600 block of West Palm unloading property. Monrovia Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team established surveillance of the location and observed the minivan leaving the area being driven by the female suspect. They stopped the van and noticed property in the van. The driver could not account for why she was in possession of the property. They also recovered ammunition for a shotgun and a pistol in the vehicle. The female suspect was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, receiving stolen property, and ex-felon with ammunition.
A search warrant was written and served on October 3, 2015, at 7:00 a.m. on the residence, as the ammunition and stolen property was recovered in the vehicle. The firearm was recovered, and a separate individual, the resident, was arrested for possessing the firearm, as he is a convicted felon.

Highlighted Activity for October 1-4, 2015


Possession of a Controlled Substance/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Suspect Arrested
October 1 at 11:23 p.m., an officer detained a suspect in the 600 block of Shamrock for being in a park after closing hours. The investigation revealed the suspect was in possession of methamphetamine and a glass pipe used for smoking methamphetamine. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody. He was later released on a citation.
Stolen Vehicle
October 2 at 3:51 a.m., dispatch received a report of a stolen vehicle from a victim in the 200 block of West Cherry. The victim parked her vehicle in her driveway at 2:00 p.m. When she returned to her vehicle at 3:50 a.m., she discovered it missing. The vehicle is a 2000, red, four-door, Honda Civic. The investigation is continuing.
Residential Burglary
October 2 at 7:39 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of May Avenue regarding an alarm activation at a home. The residents left the home at 5:30 p.m. Officers determined forced entry was made through the kitchen side door, but nothing was found missing from inside the residence. Neighbors were contacted, but no one witnessed or heard anything unusual. The investigation is continuing.
Residential Burglary
October 2 at 9:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 900 block of Ridgeside Drive regarding a burglary. The resident left the home at 11:00 a.m. When she returned home at 8:30 p.m., she found her bedroom and bathroom had been ransacked. It appears forced entry was made through the kitchen side door. Nothing was found to be missing from the residence. The investigation is continuing.
Public Intoxication – Suspect Arrested
October 3 at 1:28 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the 400 block of South Myrtle when he observed an unconscious male subject on the sidewalk near a parked vehicle. The subject was extremely intoxicated and determined unable to care for himself. He was arrested for being drunk in public and held for a sobering period.
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol – Suspect Arrested
October 3 at 2:49 a.m., an officer stopped a vehicle in the area of Peck and Live Oak for a vehicle code violation. The investigation revealed the subject was driving under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested and held for a sobering period.
Grand Theft Bicycle
October 4 at 1:35 a.m., a bicycle theft in progress was reported in the 900 block of West Duarte Road. The investigation led officers to an apartment complex near 3rd and Genoa in the City of Arcadia. The bicycle was recovered, but the suspect has not been identified. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Theft Auto
October 4 at 6:26 a.m., dispatch received a call reporting a stolen vehicle in the 100 block of North Ivy. An officer responded, but no evidence was located at the scene. At 1:37 p.m., the vehicle was recovered by deputies from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Industry Station. A Monrovia officer responded to fingerprint the vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle vs. Bicycle Traffic Collision
October 4 at 11:21 a.m., a vehicle verses bicycle collision was reported in the 600 block of Terrado. A 13-year-old bicyclist traveling west on Sombrero turned onto northbound Terrado and collided with a vehicle traveling south on Terrado. The bicyclist was wearing a helmet, which prevented him from sustaining major injuries. He was taken to a hospital due to complaint of pain in his legs and chest.
Vehicle Burglary
October 4 at 11:45 a.m., an officer responded to the 800 block of California regarding a vehicle burglary. The suspect entered a locked vehicle and took an iPod, CD's and a charger. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary
October 4 at 11:51 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 1000 block of Royal Oaks. An officer responded and determined that the suspect forced open the door and entered the locked vehicle. The suspect took miscellaneous tools. The investigation is continuing.

Theft From a Vehicle
September 28 at 9:05 a.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported at a residence in the 100 block of South Ivy Avenue. The victim left her vehicle parked and unlocked in front of her residence. When she returned to the vehicle, she noticed property had been stolen from the interior. Miscellaneous clothing and a briefcase was taken. The investigation is continuing.
Attempted Murder – Suspects Arrested
September 28 at 10:01 a.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of South Encinitas on the report of a stabbing that had just occurred. The victim had been in an altercation earlier with the brother of the suspect who stabbed him. The two brothers showed up at the victim’s residence and a physical fight ensued. During the fight, the victim was stabbed multiple times. The suspects fled on foot and containment of the area was established. One suspect was taken into custody near the original location. The victim was taken to a hospital, where he required surgery for his injuries. The second suspect has been located and arrested.
Vehicle Burglary
September 28 at 1:41 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 500 block of West Duarte Road. The victim left his vehicle to be repaired at an automotive repair shop on September 25. When he returned to the repair shop, he found tools had been stolen from a locked toolbox in the bed of his truck. The investigation is continuing.
Petty Theft
September 28 at 2:00 p.m., a petty theft was reported in the 400 block of Genoa. The victim parked her vehicle in front of her apartment the night before. She returned at 8:00 a.m. and saw that one of her tires was stolen. The investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglary
September 28 at 6:26 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of West Palm regarding a vehicle burglary. The victim parked her vehicle on the street in front of her house at 5:00 p.m. and locked the doors. She then went into her house. She returned to her vehicle an hour and a half later and discovered a window was shattered and her briefcase containing miscellaneous papers had been taken. She immediately called the police. Officers searched the area, but did not locate a suspect. The investigation is continuing.
Possession of Marijuana for Sales/Warrant – Suspect Arrested
September 28 at 10:09 p.m., an officer on patrol in the 1400 block of South Mountain stopped a vehicle for failing to stop for a red light signal at an intersection. The officer approached the male driver and immediately smelled marijuana emitting from inside the vehicle. A computer check of the subject revealed the driver had a warrant for his arrest and was driving with a suspended license. A lawful search of the vehicle revealed several individually packaged bags of marijuana and evidence the driver was transporting the drugs for sales. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Theft From a Vehicle
September 29 at 11:48 a.m., a purse was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 500 block of South Mountain. The victim was picking up her daughter at the location. She parked her vehicle and left it for approximately five minutes, leaving her purse in the vehicle. When she returned, she saw a white pickup truck with tinted windows and no plates leaving from directly behind her vehicle. She entered her vehicle and saw her purse was missing. Officers later recovered her property in two separate locations after it had been discarded. The victim was missing cash and a debit card. The investigation is continuing.
Theft From a Vehicle
September 29 at 11:55 a.m., a victim of theft called police to report her purse was stolen out of her unlocked vehicle while she was inside a business in the 200 block of South Ivy Avenue. The investigation is continuing.
Injury Hit and Run Collision/Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
September 29 at 7:20 p.m., a Chevrolet Suburban was traveling west in the 400 block of West Colorado when it collided into a bicyclist who was also traveling westbound. The bicyclist fell off his bike and landed on the pavement, causing non-life-threatening injuries to his arms and legs. The bicyclist was wearing reflective, protective gear and his bike had the legal lighting equipment. The driver of the Suburban fled west on Colorado.
A witness called police and reported the license plate of the suspect vehicle. Officers responded to the registered owner’s house, where they located the vehicle and the driver outside the home in Monrovia. The driver was determined to be intoxicated. The driver was arrested for felony driving under the influence and hit and run.
