Celebrate the Arts in Library Park 10/12-13

Click the poster for a bigger view of the events taking places this year.  This is the Monrovia Association of Fine Arts (MAFA) 50th Annual Celebrate the Arts.  This Monrovia's biggest art show of the year.

The featured artist this year is Bill Hyatt. He is a wonderful sculptor working in metals. He does them from small to filling entire walls.  Some even include fountains and water features.  Great stuff.

There will be over 50 artists representing a variety of media.  There will be oil, acrylic, photography and jewelry among the many artists at this event. This is a juried event so you can be assured it will be of the highest caliber.

As always there will be a silent auction to help MAFA fund its various art and art education programs.  On the latter many of the kids at MUSD will get their only art education and exposure through out After School Art Program held in conjunction with the Village After School Program.  I'll have a piece there for you to bid on too.

MAFA sadly said goodbye to their webmaster and long time member Doug Gordon who passed away a few short weeks ago. On Sunday the Der Kleiner Panzers Volkswagen Club will hold a special car show in tribute to Doug.  MAFA will have a tribute booth offering up his art for Sale the whole weekend, much of it is photographs of Monrovia.

On both days there will be Urban Art exhibits and demonstrations. Saturdays demonstrations will include kids from Monrovia's Canyon Oaks High School. There will also be a kids art show and ability to create art on Sunday.

Details.  Celebrate the Arts. Saturday 10/12 and Sunday 10/13/2013, 10AM- 6PM daily. Library Park, 321 S Myrtle Avenue, Monrovia CA  91016
